Entrar na academia foi a coisa mais fácil que o príncipe conseguiu fazer naquela cidade agitada, sua postura rígida e expressão fechada não questionada ou inquirida por nenhum dos frequentadores. Perdido em pensamentos enquanto observava um treino de espadas, Adam sentiu mais uma vez a nostalgia o dominar, um cheiro conhecido em meio a todos o avisando instantaneamente que ele estava às suas costas. "Nostálgico, Gaston? Há certas coisas que não podemos abrir mão, não importa o quanto tente." Ergueu uma sobrancelha, olhando por cima do ombro.

Out of all the (forcibly without their consent or knowledge btw in case anyone actually thinks King Adam was in the right for some stupid reason) resurrected villains Gaston Legume came back the MOST broken because not only did his death come as a surprise he was already in a bad mental state during that fight. While Maleficent Faire & Claude Frollo (his resurrection was so bad he was the reason they stop doing them publicly he was hard freaking out) are also noticeably traumatised Gaston came back so glassy eyed & despondent that at first the Auradonians thought it hadn’t even worked & he was still dead. If it wasn’t for Adora LeFou caring enough about her villain to fucking take care of him & make sure he’s good he’d literally have starved himself back to death forgetting to eat, like I cannot empathise how OUT OF IT he truly is.

No, Christine Daaé is not 15-19 years old. No voice that young can sing the works of Gounod or Wagner. Heck, even some 20 somethings damage their voices by singing Wagner too soon. And Faust is a very intense opera for a singer, let alone the role of Marguerite. Much stamina is needed to perform it. She is likely 20-23, given Raoul’s age and the fact that they’re said to be around the same.

In my opinion, I think people put her in the 15-19 age bracket because they don’t want to believe that a young woman can be just as naive as a teenage girl (in the novel it says “she has the heart of a 15-year-old”, not that she’s actually 15). Hate to break it to ya, but some of us adults are also gullible/naive. It makes her a well-rounded, believable character and it’s not her fault that Erik played into the lie. After all, if a voice like his, described as angelic or otherworldly, started speaking to you in your dressing room (I would likely faint cuz wtf, but if I didn’t, I would ask what’s going on) you would likely err on the side of the supernatural too.

Edit: I got the Wagner mixed up with other rep - that’s my bad. In case it wasn’t obvious to the tags (did not expect to get so much attention on this post, but ey, shiz happens) I hate the 2004 movie. They had to make Erik that kind of a creep to get across that he’s scary? My guy is a psychologically damaged, living corpse, but they had to make him a pedo instead? It just shows what I’ve always assumed about Phantom is true: we lean away from his deformity and into his character (cuz yes he’s still awful, I’ve never denied that) because we are too uncomfortable with his ugliness. He is who he is because the world has been unimaginably cruel to him over his features (an explanation, not an excuse - Erik is bad for the 100,000 time). What makes Christine who she is is her choice to forgive him - it’s what I love most about her, her compassion. I have been in abusive relationships myself, in case I haven’t made that clear, and yes, oddly enough, I’ve forgiven them. That’s my interaction with this story. That’s why I’m here: to explore the dynamics in a safe way. But some of y’all truly don’t understand how people can enjoy bad things when they’re in fiction. It’s fiction.

Adam fugiu do antigo castelo, mas as obrigações continuavam em seu percalço, por mais que tentasse fugir delas. Seus olhos, cansados, tentavam ler a carta de um conde pela quinta vez, mente traidora seguindo para cada um dos cômodos do castelo, onde estariam Belle e... Um sorriso cresceu em seu rosto ao pensar na mulher, quebrado somente por um suspiro longo. Ainda devia explicações a ela sobre a volta da Fera. E por falar no segredo, a lembrança de que Gaston provavelmente estaria rondando pelos corredores aquela hora só pôs ainda mais inquietação sob sua pele. Já faziam quatro dias, e ele havia se esquivado de um possível encontro em todos eles, a dificuldade de lidar com seus sentimentos ainda um problema a se trabalhar em sua personalidade. O príncipe-fera esfregou o rosto com ambas as mãos, ouvindo batidas na porta. "Eu já disse que vou jantar em meus aposentos, senhorita Vienna, não se preocupe comigo." Respondeu antes mesmo de olhar, abrindo as gavetas em busca de algum tinteiro.
