Madame Medusa Villainess Backstory!

Didnt think I'd do her originally as she's not one of the big well known ones but decided what the heck

Real name is Millicent Le Duc

Came from an originally wealthy Southern family who ownedThe Devil's Bayou, but their fortunes began to dwindle and her parents moved North to New York during the Great Depression, so she grew up without a Southern accent 

Her grandfather Augustus le Duc, who she was always close too, kept hold of one dilapidated Steamboat, which he passed onto her in his will, along with two of the last alligators from his alligator farm (Brutus and Nero), the land deed to the seemingly worthless Devil's Bayou--and the legend of the lost pirate's treasure trove containing the Devil's Eye Diamond 

She was a showgirl in WW2, where she took the stage name 'The Mesmerizing Madame Medusa', becoming popular enough that she owned her own show house at one point--which also functioned as a front  for Black Market dealings

It was in this line of work that she met her later assistant Melvin "Snoops" Snopes, who worked-as his name suggests-as a lower level informant/forger to a crime boss who would sometimes use Madame Medusa's for business

When the gang he worked for was busted Snoops managed to escape and was given a job by Madame Medusa as her an 'accountant' (forger/go-fer)  in exchange for keeping quiet about his past

Eventually Madame Medusa's popularity as a show woman declined as she aged, and she converted her show room into a pawn shop (with some links to the Black Market still )

She would go and live in the old steam boat during the winter months when her business was good enough, as it started to decline she started letting the boat sink into disrepair, her alligators left to mostly fend for themselves in the Bayou 

Eventually her business got so bad that she began truly searching in earnest for the Devil's Eye Diamond, discovering it at last, but in a hole too small for anyone but a child to fit thru

Using Snoops' forgery skills she was able to obtain custody of Penny, and had Snoops take her down to the Bayou to get the diamond while she continued to try and run the store.
