He lifted up the towel he had compressing it so she could get a full view of the damage, "I tripped holding a knife." He lied smoothly, his calm tone and precise inflections made the obscure lie believable. Almost. His other cuts, scraps and bruises were suggesting otherwise.

a ren faire wasn't something ivy had ever pictured herself attending. faires like this had never appealed to her, but when you're stuck in a town with nowhere else to go, what else do you have to do?

after she finished her shift, ivy joined the crowd of townsfolk out admiring the work of the council and everything that was on offer. she had stopped at one of the craft stalls, looking at some homemade goods when she bumped into someone

It had been so long since Avery had a break. She couldn't remember the last time she had actually sat down in her home let alone see the inside of it. Sadly, the peace she felt crashed down on her as she woke up, gasping from the nightmare she had. Her hands went to her side, feeling the current scar that was forming there from a sword that had slashed down on her side in a recent fight. Her hands shook as she tried to take deep breaths to calm herself.

Pressing against the body that shared the bed with her, she looked over at Adam, noticing she probably had woken him up. "I'm sorry." Avery said, her voice still filled with sleep but with an added scratch from the scream she had let out. "Did I wake you, again?" She asked softly. She didn't have the energy to be jokey or mask herself like she would with others. Adam had shown she could trust him, that he wasn't there going to betray her.

"Did you miss me?" Griffin asked as he slowly walked in, smiling at Avery. He was discharged the night before and spent a fabulous night in his own bed with the best sleep he had ever gotten. Behind him, Raelynn trailed, pouting because she had to be a big girl and walk now that daddy wasn't allowed to lift anything. She was more than capable of doing it regardless. "I brought you the princess, not sure if you guys have met yet. I was loopy in that hospital bed."

and for the record since i feel like this might get confusing otherwise, I'm gonna be defaulting to F:NV Avery for the time being and foreseeable future. I've been really enjoying the rewrite. Core things about him, personality traits, morals, favorite snack foods etc, are unchanged but some story and design elements might shift around. Still same ol' Avery at the end of the day. FO:4 flavor Avery isn't so much nixed as he is shelved.

Finally doing some proper badgemakingg, the top picture is remakes of vintage queer/LGBT badges that particularly spoke to me, next one down on the left are the cure-related, next one on the right are weird al-related (designed the spatula city one myself, graphic design is my passion /s), bottom left are my own designs (pronoun badge text is from cooltext.com, the other badge is the neurodiversity symbol) then bottom right are designs I shamelessly ripped from Pinterest and Tumblr respectively
