The storyboard co-lead on Helluva Boss and Hazbin Hotel had to open up commissions to deal with a medical emergency.

Normally when a storyboard artist/animator works on an ongoing project, they can't accept any freelance work because all their focus needs to be put on the main project.

That's why you see all these industry folks opening up commissions after they're done working on a big project.

So yeah, all this talk about Viv being a better boss when compared to mainstream productions is total horseshit.

Thank you for tagging me @theladyofshalott1989! Everyone go read her Like Moths to a Flame series pls (it's on my to-read list and I'm really looking forward to it!)

When did you start writing?

I've been writing for as long as I can remember. When I was a kid, I used to hand write entire novels lol. At school, they'd assign us a little writing project and I'd show up with like 28 chapters, ongoing. I remember reading one story aloud once and the whole room was dead quiet after, and one girl goes: "whoa." anyway, eventually they were like, hey I think this kid is gifted (or autistic LOL but why not both.)

Are there different themes or genres you enjoy reading than what you write? 

Not really haha. My brain really goes: HEY WE REALLY REALLY REALLY LIKE THIS ONE THING AND WE'RE NOT INTERESTED IN ANYTHING ELSE. I mean, I do enjoy reading non-fiction, and I love the classics, but mostly I like fiction/romance/light fantasy stuff. 

Is there a writer you want to emulate or get compared to often? 

Nah. I just write like me. I guess the HP series had a huge influence on me since I was SO obsessed with it, which is probably why I write past tense/third pov limited. Sometimes I'll re-read a lot of Austen and end up using a bunch of old timey words in my next chapter, but mostly I just write and it comes out sounding like me. 

Can you tell me a bit about your writing space? 

I don't have one. I write 99.9% of my work on my phone wherever I happen to be. My brain is chaos but it works for me. (Right now I am writing this on the beach while my dog digs holes beside me.)

What's your most effective way to muster up a muse?

It's kinda rare that I can't find a muse. Usually I just burn myself out, so reading, resting and rotting helps restore my creative energy.

Are there any recurring themes in your writing? Do they surprise you?

HahahhA y'all this is too personal for me *sweats* but yes: grief and shitty parents. No, that does not surprise me. I also seem to have a thing about orphans and red heads.

What is your reason for writing?

I don't know how to stop.

Is there any specific comment or type of comment you find particularly motivating?

With fanfic, when people tell me my characterisations of canon characters are spot on, or when people tell me my original characters feel like canon characters, hehe.

How do you want to be thought about by your readers?

I don't want to be thought about by my readers at all, which is why I'll always write as an anonymous gremlin. And as far as my characters and stories go, I honestly don't give much thought to it. People are free to think what they like, it doesn't really bother me.

What do you feel is your greatest strength as a writer?

Getting inside my characters heads, I think. Understanding their motivations and writing them as real and flawed and human as I can.

How do you feel about your own writing?

Honestly, I love it haha! Sometimes I might cry for three days believing that I'm absolute garbage, but that's just life innit. Mostly, I write because it's one of the greatest sources of joy in my life and it just makes me happy.

listening to bret devereaux on a naval history podcast talking about the completely different economies of age of sail and age of oar naval warfare is fascinating (link)

so far he's mentioned that the biggest difference (not surprising in retrospect) is range--an age of sail ship can operate independently at sea for much, much longer than a galley. this means you can do shit like blockades, cutting your opponent off from the sea for long periods of time (as britain tended to do to france), which just isn't possible for oar-powered ships that can't hang out outside ports intercepting every big, slow ship that comes along. galleys were incredibly crowded since they needed huge numbers of oarsmen for propulsion, and quickly became fetid if at sea for long periods. galley fleets are basically for 1) transporting armies, 2) supplementing a siege (the fleet will be based with the besieging forces), and 3) preventing the first two things being done against you.

but also the economies of shipbuilding are completely different--while triremes for instance are not cheap exactly, but ongoing crew costs were much higher than construction costs. starting in the age of sail, ships are these phenomenally expensive and complicated things compared to their predecessors, with a much greater part of their lifetime costs coming up front. fielding a competitive navy is much harder, and losing a fleet is a catastrophe for your military budget.

but with that comes a tool of really robust power projection--controlling the sea means controlling the commerce, which means if you're britain it doesn't matter if you can't field the best army, you can be a dominant world power because you can choke off the economy of anybody you are at war with. (naval supply is actually pretty easy in the age of sail specifically bc all you need is water, hardtack, and rum, and you can buy that at basically any neutral port--i assume once you have to feed ships with massive amounts of coal it becomes a bit trickier!)

alfred mahan, not being stupid, noticed this and was part of a big push to get the US to invest in a great-power navy in the late 1800s/early 1900s--and he was right! u.s. military hegemony has a lot to do with the fact that the u.s. has the most powerful navy in history.

My thoughts on Rowoon leaving SF9 as someone who stans them since 2019:

Firstly, those of you who are not even a fan, who does not even follow Rowoon throughout his idol career and are here purely for the bandwagon, please kindly take a step back.

There has always been a reason why some fans knew this was coming and it's not because of the so called 'acting disease' which ya'll seem to assume. There's an unspoken reason which only true fans would know. He has been suffering from a herniated disc since 2020. Before that, he has been really involved with group activities but ever since the injury he sustained, he has not been able to fully participate due to the intense choreographies which he obviously wouldn't be able to do anymore.

Herniated disc is no joke and it doesn't just go away like any other minor injuries. Being put into acting projects is a more manageable and sustainable route for him to contribute to the company as well as his group's brand. Participating in multiple performances would just take a toll on his health because it's not just a one time performance, it's basically hours of practices and rehearsals which would be a sh*tty thing to do to yourself if you have a long ongoing back issues. His problem was so bad at one point that he couldn't even walk without the help of crutches.

It's a damned if you do and damned if you don't situation when it comes to Rowoon because when he priotises his health by not participating and doing other things to contribute instead, people get mad saying that it doesn't feel like he's part of the group then when he tries to participate like the latest comeback, people still get mad because of his dancing and bashed him for his lack of energy and passion. The man is still struggling with a herniated disc, of course he's not going to be able to dance as intensely as he used to. Unless you want him to break his back and paralyze himself in the future maybe.

To be honest, I can see why he may have felt slightly upset about the fans because of the bashing he received due to issues he has no control over. So before anyone mentions Eunwoo or Junho or whatever other actor idols out there who manages to juggle just fine, do they have any underlying health issues that could prevent them from performing choreo? Their situation is completely different so you can't really compare.

Sure, he can stick with doing the bare minimum choreo while aggravating his condition to become worse while also taking in all the bashing comments about his lack of energy for dancing but why should he? It will only make him feel guilty for bringing the group down because he would never be able to perform on par with them and he will only stick out like a sore thumb for all their upcoming performances.

So honestly, this is a right decision he made for himself as well as for his group members. Fans will just have to accept it whether they like it or not. I don't think he owes the fans any proper or detailed explanation for his decision because only real fans would know the truth from the start. If he were to state anything and reveal his vulnerabilities, it would just sound like an excuse to some people anyway so it's best that he does not mention it at all.

I expected Fantasies to be more understanding about his situation to be honest but I fully understand that the disappointment/anger felt are completely valid. I am too. I am disappointed that he's no longer SF9's Rowoon. But as a fan, I also could understand his struggles and the decision he made with him and his group members in mind. It is for the best. It's time for us to just move on and continue to support them as a group and support Rowoon on his new path as well.

If you find it difficult to support him after all this, then fine. You do you. But please don't invalidate the times where he has been nothing but an amazing member of SF9 who have contributed a lot to the group during their beginnings. Who has always been sweet, caring, and loving towards his members and fans. When they first started out, he was literally the PR of the group, going to various shows to promote the group as a rookie. When he started acting, and when he goes on shows, he would introduce himself as SF9 Rowoon while emphasizing on SF9. When he started gaining popularity and goes on shows with his group members, he would literally try to put the attention away from him and let the other members shine more because they deserve the attention as much he does. Please don't forget that Rowoon. Just as Rowoon is going on his new path, I hope that you'll erase all the negativity you might have felt and go on your own path as well.

Soo I was thinking about making a small tutorial for F2P players for love and deep space. It's definitely a grindy game, even more than genshin especially the version prior to the recent 2.0 update (version 1.0 and after)

Like I deleted the game before because of two reasons:

1) Not enough storage, I played it on my phone so it's very laggy too

2) It's not F2P friendly and I remember the limited banners only lasted less than a week.

3) The micro transaction was crazy as well. So like I don't have enough time to save a lot of gems for even a 15 pull. And I didn't know a lot of stuff that you can do in game 💀 (aka clueless af)

It's like you HAVE to spend money on this game if you have a FOMO 😭. So I just don't gaf anymore (low-key petty, but that's just me)

Now I downloaded it back on my tablet and I can see some improvement. Such as:

Now it's easier to grind for materials, they included a skip button which consumes 8 or 80 stamina depending on what you choose

Giving out (back to back) free 5* memories - Now is the Sylus Memory (Immobilized card) which you can obtain by completing the event that's ongoing right now and the upcoming Rafayel memory card.

More content which gives out a lot of gems

Even so, there is still one problem that I wish the devs would take into consideration and hopefully fix/improve them; The gacha system. This is also one of the main reasons a lot of people spend tons of money or have to break their F2P streak. Like bro.. it's so much worse than genshin, mostly the pity. Cause wdym more than 5 people I saw reached 90 pity but still didn't get the memory 💀 not even one 5 star. I mean yeah, there are people who are lucky but most I've seen is that they had 1K ish gems reduced to dust but didn't get the card they wanted. I'm putting this problem in the survey so I sincerely hope the developers listen pls.

I should also say the micro transaction is still very much prevalent but it's not as bad as after a few weeks it was released (My only aim is progressing the main story ngl). I'm giving them the benefit of a doubt tho, since this is clearly a new project they're venturing out to and still trying to find a way around how they're gonna work this game. So for any of those who are like me, refusing to even spend a single dollar on a game I think it's important to fill out the survey so the devs can make the game more F2P friendly. I guarantee you, it can benefit the players more by doing this, just look at HSR and wuthering waves.

I haven't played in like 6 months I think so I missed out a lot, but like I said they did improve some stuff in the game compared to when I first played it. I remember it wasn't fun for me but I stick around for a while because I like the customization and the story. And I also remember there wasn't a lot of content to grind for gems unlike now, I mean that's a given since it's new. So it's clear they do listen to players' grievances, I assume. I hope they do so as the game progresses.

I'll probably do some like, tutorial on how you can get gems and stuff if you're a busy person or whatever hehe cause rn my gems are around 7K and I downloaded LnDs just last week when sylus was first released (yes I came back because of this dude 😭). Even I'm suprised I could obtain that much when I can't even get to more than 3K gems before this lol. So yeah maybe I'll do it soon.

We have now reached part TEN of my ongoing project to transcribe and discuss all of the onscreen text in G Witch! Because I like writing!!! We have reached Episode 9, "If I Could Take One More Step Towards You."

The Beginning of the End. (Of the season.)

In the opening flashback, we see Guel winning yet another Duel, and at that point in time, he now has 8 wins. Ireesha says that he's probably done about 5 duels that month. With this information it's like. Utterly Impossible to determine how long ago before the story proper this scene takes place in, but here:

The Holder is required to do at least one duel every two weeks if there are available challengers. Guel had 28 wins by the time the show starts, so if we assume that Guel did that bare minimum, (which he definitely did not do) 20 duels would take about 40 weeks, or around 9 and so months. So that's the absolute MAXIMUM amount of time possible between this flashback and the show proper.

This doesn't really tell us anything at all, but yknow. I had fun. And isn't that what it's all about?

And I COULD say SOMETHING about how the last time Guel sees Suletta before he runs away she's running ahead of him down the LIGHTED PATH and he CAN'T FOLLOW but I have to save that for the GUEL ANALYSIS SERIES!!! (Which I will return to...wait for me md-guel....wait for me...)

Anyway, back to a relevant detail, in the scene where Shaddiq talks to Miorine to convince her to call off the duel, Miorine has gathered a bunch of tomatoes and laid them out like this.

She's actually using them to plan out a battle strategy for the Grassley duel. The 2 tomatoes on the bottom are Suletta and Chuchu, and the 6 tomatoes at the top are the Grassley Pilots.

Shaddiq's Michaelis (Left) and the Grassley Girls' Beguir - Pente's (Middle) are actually both successors built from the Beguir Beu (Right) used in the prologue. (That's why they can use Anti-GUND Format Equipment such as the 'Antidote')

When you look at them side by side, it's pretty clear, but if this fact slips by you, you really miss out on the sharp difference in Prospera's behavior watching this duel compared to all the previous duels. Before, she showed unwavering confidence and faith that Suletta and Aerial could stop any opponent, but in this duel, when we see her, she's silent. She's not smiling. In a very real way, she's looking at the Mobile Suit that took her husband away from her.

And when Aerial overcomes the power of the Antidote, she sheds a tear

This was probably the biggest obstacle standing between the completion of Quiet Zero, and now that it's been overcome, the path has never been clearer.

Anyway, during the Role Call of all the Grassley girls, Sabina is shown to specifically be incredibly popular with women. Which I mean....can't blame em..

During this scene, we can see that the Team Battle title card has a slightly different UI, adding the respective Team Name of the Commander. Miorine never officially joins Earth House, but since all the members currently in the fight are, they probably just chose that.

We also see that the official color coding of Earth House is Cyan.

Here we see that in a Team Duel, the "Team Leader" and the "Commander" are two different positions, and can be held by two different people. The Team Leader fights in the duel, while the Commander is who will be awarded the victory or defeat depending on the outcome of the battle.

We also see in this shot that Chuchu's Demi Trainer is registered in Asticassia as "CHUCHU'S DEMI TRAINER"

When Aerial first goes offline due to the Antidote, this warning flashes across Suletta's helmet at first. It's [???] MODE but I can't read the first part. Gomen :( My best guess is that it's an Error message for a sort of Assisted Piloting Mode that Suletta had been using up to this point.

Then the warning switches to MANUAL MODE, which is what Suletta interprets as Aerial saying she needs to continue the fight by herself.

We can't see it fully, but Miorine's name appears on the winner's screen. So only the Team's Commander receives the victory in a Team Battle.

I really enjoyed writing for him. I instantly liked him ingame - such a breath of fresh air contrasted against the squeaky clean and frilly rest of Fontaine :P Him, you know you can trust. I knew I wanted Kintsugi to respect him and actually get somewhere with his rebirth, and the surefire way to do it is to connect it to the time when he still respected anyone... but Wrio and Niwa also really do have a lot in common, as do Tatarasuna and Meropide :D It was such a great journey for me as well.

Kintsugi, Nahida and Furina are still together in my team today. I just can't take any of them off. X'D Another story with the two of them is in the works as a long-term project to return to during lulls in the game! And the series as a whole is also very much ongoing :D

or How to Not Worry and Relish as the Enigma

I don't like to put famous creators on pedestals, the expectation can dwindle the moment you know they're noticeably fallible, but I'll say Genndy Tartakovsky has earned his keep. Killing it directing both banger shows and quality Adam Sandler movies, you could say Unicorn Warriors Eternal is a victory lap considering that was a project years in the making and Primal being successful enough for the network to have the unfathomable idea of giving it more than two seasons. But for UWE, this is the prime project for Genndy and now that it's out, does it soar like his previous works or does it feel like something's missing for it?

Just as good question: Can the Popeye movie have another chance too?

Unicorn I'll say has a good unique idea being a mix between high and low fantasy. We got dark magic, elves, and cosmic psychonauts taking place in a steampunk version of the UK. The main crew live beyond time and as Genndy puts it, any further season can be a jump into another period. The team themselves I feel come together as well as the trio from Sym-Bionic Titan. What I'm unfortunately going for is that there is good to be had, but the execution of things... I dunno, isn't as satisfying?

Except Copernicus. Literally the best.

I feel Genndy understands that there can exist consequences, but the main idea of throwing everlasting souls into still breathing humans is something I feel is not explored well. We grasp the struggle Emmelinda has with basically living as two people in one body, but nobody really concerns about how Alfie might've been feeling having the ability to feel eternity and infinity all at once or that Edred is more clear minded but can't read the room of the team not being on the same page as him. This being a supposed mini-series, things aren't allowed to simmer and beats that do you're just expected to accept when they immediately move on. I can remember Merlin acknowledging his notable negligence toward Melinda, but it didn't resonate as well as it could have. The kitsune exists for a few moments and then *POOF* were we meant to keep June Way in mind? Who knows? We get moments and revelations with hardly the satisfaction.

Winston's the one consistently good part of all this

I'm not saying Unicorn is bad with pacing, but it's an enigma figuring out the flow of the narrative as I felt it was spinning its wheels for half the show. They make up for it by having good characters and animation, it does have its endearing moments because I like Emma's journey, Winston is more of a chad than Edred, and it is just great seeing a fantasy action series for once. What hurts it I theorize is the episode limit. While Genndy of course had everything planned, ten did not feel like enough to have everything wangjangled well compared to the final season of Samurai Jack which had an ongoing narrative too. Fact that the longest episode was purely about exploring Edred's past tells me that this could've worked with either one more episode or a few more months with story revisions. I'm saying Unicorn could've been given better time to breathe while the quality of direction can remain the same. Otherwise, it's at least good seeing Genndy's dream project evolve and finally realized with the style he appreciates the most.

When other time am I gonna get badass Betty Boop?

I wanted to review this series before the finale to see how well this would turn out after finally premiering. One-half remained gleeful over the Tezuka and Fleischer influence that makes the blood of this show's visuals and the elements of action and character don't miss. This is Tartakovsky's project, through and through. The other half isn't calling this Genndy's all time greatest purely because it was his passion project because not everything clicked storywise. I would not binge this either, the week by week release kept the tension and intrigue better than I thought. Overall, I'm mixed. I recommend it definitely, but after Primal it isn't as jawdropping a banger as I hoped. I'm nonetheless happy Genndy finally got this off the ground, and if the finale promos are anything to go by this might be able to stay off the ground. Let the hope be strong, but I want to be honest and say...

I really suspect Ianthe's commitment to John (including that interesting exchange at end of NtN with Kiriona) is a mix of the following especially in light of the recent short story:

Self-interest (a given)

ongoing foil to Harrow (always makes the worst choice)

potential influence from Babs, Babs followed rules and authority even if he was a binch about it (as people pointed out he listened to Magnus) and John obviously is the supreme authority... I do not take Ianthe as particularly religious at all nor committed to authority and her interest in the liminal is rather heretical

potential projection of Babs onto John and thus a manifestation of her remorse: both are cringe and both are guys who have been down quite bad lol Babs constantly cheated on by partners and effaced in general by the twins and god well.. Ianthe put it pretty well herself about his "duplicitous sluts" I also think like Babs, Ianthe finds John somewhat predictable. Thus he is "safer". I think she finds him more predictable than Augustine which further explains her choice at the end of HtN. If god couldn't trust Augustine after 10k years well.. how could she ever? And this is due in part because Ianthe has some of the most intense if not the most intense trust issues of any character in TLT which is saying something! There's no pool scene with her, there's no breakdown where she begs god to help her. Harrow had to intervene to fix the arm. Harrow thinks she is undeserving of help but she is willing to grovel when at her lowest, I suppose she figures it can't get any worse, that it's only more honest to go full supplicant and her commitment to her house/the tomb/the body/gideon all keep her from jettisoning herself. Ianthe has far fewer external tethers (aside from Coronabeth what does she have?) and Ianthe does not even have the imagination for begging for help; has anyone ever looked out for her in her life? It's not a matter of deserving or not, it simply isn't a possibility for her at all and I imagine she sees this as a "realism". Even Harrow had Crux. Harrow is the abominable only child and atlas to her house but Ianthe is the neglected, older (same age) sibling who never got to be the "fun" one and it shows hard. She’s been a shadow and the closest she gets to being rewarded has always been for being proficient. it’s no surprise she didn’t see the indelible sin as a step too far, pushing herself further and trying to gauge outcomes is basically all she knows. Her ascension in many ways felt like a tantrum, her showing that it finally "got to her" as she betrayed Coronabeth in a significant way and permanently altered the power dynamic they had maintained their entire lives with each other and Babs previously

The animation varies wildly from episode to episode and I assume it's intentional buuuut sometimes it doesn't quite work for me. If I finish it and enjoy it enough to warrant a rewatch, I'll definitely try it with the Japanese dub.

A Few Fiends To Tea by Virginia Coffman (Complete) Picked this up secondhand for the cover (obviously) and the promise of a dying man using his remaining time to enact some vigilante justice on serial killers. Pulpy fun, right? Well it mostly reads like a mid century romance with a few interesting exchanges peppered throughout. Oh well.

Silver Surfer by Slott & Allred Omnibus by Dan Slott and Michael Allred (Complete) This is what comics can be. Funny, sad, silly, and sincere, all while telling superhero stories that don't exclusively rely on punching to solve conflict. This reads like the best of Doctor Who and I love it all the more.

Delicious in Dungeon Volume 1 by Ryoko Kui (Complete) It seeeeeeeeems like the series is wrapping up so while I wait for the final volume's release I figured I'd start a reread. Knowing where it's going it's fun to see how established the setting and characters are right out of the gate. Just so great and I can't recommend it enough.

Firstly, thank you so much for the compliment, I'm really happy you liked the Murder Mystery Zine (it was a really cool project with a lot of amazing people) 💕

I am by no means a big production guru (there are mods out there with years of experience and dozens of projects more than me who really know almost every single manufacturer there is and have tried and compared them all) but I'm always happy to answer zine related questions and help to the best of my knowledge — I'll put the booklet related tips below the cut but if you have any other zine or production questions, please don't hesitate to ask again or DM me ☺️

To answer your question, for physical booklets, I, personally, tend to use Mixam UK, because in my opinion they have the best price/cost relationship (there are certainly manufacturers who deliver a better quality and more paper options, but if you are trying to keep costs low, then Mixam UK does a very good job! You need to pay attention though, because Mixam also has a US site, but I would advise against using them, because they are both more expensive and their quality is at best acceptable and at worst subpar — depending on what size and page count you have it can also be cheaper to order from the UK site with shipping to the US that ordering directly from the US site, so be sure that you are on the right Mixam site. There is also a Canadian & Australian site but I have not yet worked with them so I can't speak to how they compare—as far I remember the hearsay though, they seem to be doing okay) ☺️

I have also been part of 1 zine where the booklet was ordered with PixartPrinting (though not as a moderator), who seem to do great work with their finishing (though that was some years ago and last I checked they don't offer shipping to the US/international anymore, only EU, but you might be able to get more info if you contact customer service). I have also heard good things about Jukeboxprint and Skating Bear (especially if you want things like foil on the cover, etc), but never actually used them myself because from what I hear and the prices that I have been quoted for past projects, you need to reach a high quantity (250 & upwards) for the costs to balance out. Mixam has recently also added foil options but I have not yet tried them so I can't judge their foil work.

All of these have a website where you can order directly, except Skating Bear, who operate via Alibaba.

I have also never heard of any of these manufacturers (or any other) cancel or refuse an order because it was fan work, so not sure where you have that information from 🤔 I have only heard of a single instance where a sticker manufacturer wanted proof that you could use the designs (I guess they became suspicious because the designs had different art styles?) and it was all resolved by the respective merch artists sending them a message that the project had permission to use their designs—as far as I recall this was a very small, local manufacturer though and it was also some years ago. So, if you are trying to print locally and go somewhere in-person, small shops may very well have individual policies on not printing fan works or be more pro-active when checking the designs for originality 🤔

If you had a big/online manufacturer refuse your order because it was fan work though, I would be really curious to hear which company it was, if you don't mind sharing! That could be really helpful information for future and ongoing projects which company to avoid or have a backup plan for.

What was the lab like back in mimictale?

Considering the fact that this universe basically has an entire world's worth of room compared to the other aus, I assume it would be much larger unless it was lacking in funds. Did they have other projects to work on? Did the bros ever get to see any projects or were they taught anything about them? Would they have been friends with any of the staff?

Would the core be necessary or would they use something else to generate power? Since they have access to electricity and a much larger amount of land, did they have a similar technological timeline to that of humans? (Like using coal and steampowered engines instead of something magic based)

Also since mimictale is basically a scaled up UT then what would waterfall be like? Would it be in a massive cave or out in the open? Could it be used for mining purposes to support a much larger population, a lil settlement or just a place to explore? Since it's in-between Snowdin and Hotland (where I presume the lab is located) then would the bros have been thru there? If so, do u think they liked it?

Just a few questions, u don't gotta answer them since it's kind of a lot sorry

The capital's lab was VERY well funded. Back in its prime, it was regarded as the leading innovator for technology within the region. I think it'd be nearly completely underground below the Kingdom and only accessible from within the castle, both to make use of geothermal energy and for protection. Most of the lab's work was concerned with studying the effects of magic on organic matter or enhancing the properties of materials and minerals with magic.

Orion and Freki were quite involved with the projects in the lab because of Asgore's indifference to child labour policies, though only Freki was allowed to be present while experiments were ongoing and help out with menial tasks. Orion was still a little too young to be there without constant supervision, so he had the concepts explained to him instead. They wouldn't have made many friends since Eridanus (Mimictale Gaster) tried his best to keep them away from the rest of the lab staff and essentially threatened to strip anyone of their title if they touched either of them. Mimics can get dangerously possessive over children, especially ones supposedly with no declared parental figures.

Mimictale would still use the CORE to power the Kingdom as the geothermal energy generated from Hotland supplies a good part of their energy needs. If not, it'd come from their own magic. The technological timeline does loosely follow that of humans, but as a whole most non-renewable energy sources are often substituted/bolstered with magic or draught animals. Rural areas also have less access to technology or reject it entirely.

I imagine Waterfall to occur as a wetland biome leading into a natural cavern! The surface would resemble a swamp while its underground region would take after a marsh. Its large cave system would definitely be a popular mining location with taverns, stilt houses, wooden bridges, echo flower fields, etc. It was one of the only places where Freki and Orion could catch a break thanks to the sparse aboveground population, so they did like it!

It's no problem for me to answer! I've never thought too deeply about the answers to some of these questions, so it helped me flesh out Mimictale in my head a little more. Have a good day, Anon <3

Gylou are devils who master a position of assistance and caretaking, though not in any way humanoids would appreciate. Their skills seem nearly unlimited, though much of that comes from their method of lying to reality, convincing the world itself to bend to their whims and allow them to complete any task to perfection. When seen through these obscure skills will abruptly fail them, usually leading to an incomparable fury as the gylou attempts to destroy the one who pierced their untouchable image. Often called handmaidens due to most having a feminine appearance and their position as assistants, they will craft any image and role needed to accomplish their plans, and any powerful devil with hopes of maintaining its authority requires at least one gylou to assist it. The greatest weakness of a gylou is their deep, unyielding hatred of children. It is said that the sound of a crying child can spur a gylou to abandon any disguise or plan it has and drive it to violence.

Human sized, a gylou can't be mistaken for a human without illusions covering its appearance. Instead of hair it has two or four tendrils, and its lower body splits into a mass of interlocking tendrils that can form a difficult to escape cage when a creature is bound within them. They lock tight, tangling limbs and letting the gylou carry its prisoner with it without hindrance.

Puragaus are field generals for devilish legions, leading strikes and carving themselves small kingdoms when given leave. Ten foot tall, ember encrusted humanoids with massive draconic wings and a great many curved horns sprouting from their head, they delight in igniting fires to burn away all opposition. This doesn't mean they're dull, as with all greater devils they have a keen intellect and an orderly plan, it's just that their plans tend toward the more open and destructive compared to the more conniving and manipulative devils out there. Their burning hot skin can set foes alight on a touch, and even those resistant to fire find themselves burning easily from the puragaus' hellflames.
