This is hard like so so hard... I honestly don't know how to cope.

The day before yesteday my brother and his girlfriend came over to help me take care of mum after mum was taken care of and back in her bed to sleep he asked me to follow him outside to talk... turns out that he forgot to tell me some pretty important details that her doctors has said, it went something like this.

Bro: her doctors said that she's in ruff shape...

Me: yeah, I guess they said the prognostic is not looking so good...

Bro: Yeah...they said that her c4nc3r is to advanced for her to be a candidate for chemotherapy or radiotherapy, and that the only way to get rid of it is to operate but she's not healthy enough for that

Me: ...

Bro: they recommended palliative care as the best option... but Dr. XYZ (at private hospital) said that we could try a different treatment, it's just very expensive; the best thing we can do is try and get her to eat and drink more regularly and get her allegeable for surgery.

Me: yeah... we'll do that...

I wish i could be as hopeful as he is, honestly, but I don't really thing we have that much time left with mum, I see her deteriorate more and more each day... since yesterday night she's been unresponsive to everything except tactile stimuli, she doesn't speak, she doesn't move, nothing.

I also think some part of me had already started to mourn her loss cause I can't really cry like I think I should...

I'm just waiting to wake up one morning and just to find out she passed in her sleep... hopefully painlessly...

Colorectal cancer is the third most common cancer in men and women and the third leading cause of cancer death in the United States. The staging of colorectal cancer is based on the depth of invasion through these layers and on any spread to other tissues and is given per the TNM system. The Duke’s system is an older staging system.

Underwriting Factors

A colonoscopy is generally recommended one year after curative resection. If clear of polyps and tumors, the next colonoscopy can be performed in year three, then every five years. Closer surveillance is needed in those at high risk (hereditary syndromes and inflammatory bowel disease). Ratings will depend on stage and time since the end of treatment. An additional rating or postponement may be necessary if the applicant does not follow surveillance recommendations. Stage I medullary cancer has a good prognosis while higher stages do not. Anaplastic Anaplastic type of any thyroid cancer has a grave prognosis.

Treatments for Thyroid Cancer

Surgical excision (with or without node and neck exploration, depending on stage) followed by a radioisotope is typical. Stage I well-differentiated tumors less than 1cm do not need radioiodine ablation; surgery is adequate for small tumors.
