I actually don’t mind the hell’s aesthetic of the show being a chaotic cities and towns but the question remains as why? Has hell always reflected the human’s world? Was it something they integrated later on in existence? Why are there jails and police in hell?

For my rewrite the answer is that Lucifer, being the fallen Angel who always craved a familiarity with humans, has always being infatuated with their silly traditions and systems. So as the ruler of Hell he basically molded it to his will so he could have what he couldn’t in Heaven, a human world of his making in which he is worshipped first and close to them second.

Lucifer has a conflicting relationship to humanity, fascinated by their nature but also jealous of their free will and their importance to God. So while he desires to live as one of them, he also wants to punish them. Creating a Capitalist Hellscape in which he’s the immovable market giant and everyone has to live an eternity of labor and consumerism.

Tying in Octavia calling LooLoo Land a cheap rip-off of LuLu Land, the far more lucrative and popular theme park.

However, Lucifer had to give sinners a systematic advantage in order for them to actually participate in the economy and worship him as a brand/entrepreneur/leader/“god”, raising them to middle class with No acknowledgement of the hellborn left behind.

On the other hand, Lilith is far more traditional, initially “ruling” Hell by creating creatures made for violence and torture hence why hellborn are naturally predisponed to savage behaviors. "glaze uses the same tech as stable diffusion" - yes because it was designed as an attack against a class of models called diffusion models, of which, stable diffusion is the most well-known open source implementation. It uses the same encoders to develop image perturbations that interfere with the latent embedding of the image in a way that is honestly pretty cool:

To understand the above, you need to know that diffusion models represent what they're generating in a "feature space" (numbers). The authors noticed that style transfer could be combated if you knew which numbers in that feature space affected artist style. They then did something pretty clever: they computed what something would look like if you applied a public domain style to it, and then made it so that your input would look like the public domain style in the feature space. This is why there are artifacts in a glazed image; it's actually changing the image data so it looks different when the machine runs its encoder. The researchers' choice to then use stable diffusion (it's cited, [67] in section 5.2 step 2) to run style transfer should then make intuitive sense: if mr. AI then uses the same encoder the researchers did to fine tune his model, then their modified image will clog up his machinery just as shown in the paper.

The overall point of this not being a perfect defense is actually something I agree with. Glaze is so narrow that it only encompasses fine-tuning (e.g. Dreambooth) so it wasn't really a global defense to begin with (nightshade does better, but not perfectly, in that regard, read their paper, it's cool). However, the actual claim that you can "just upscale it" in this post is easily proven false.

As an aside, Glaze can be de-glazed pretty well, but it is not a simple process. There is even a paper and open source code that does this (and it, too, is pretty cool): https://github.com/paperwave/Impress. Just to show that it's also like a published paper, here's the citation:

the darling Glaze “anti-ai” watermarking system is a grift that stole code/violated GPL license (that the creator admits to). It uses the same exact technology as Stable Diffusion. It’s not going to protect you from LORAs (smaller models that imitate a certain style, character, or concept)

An invisible watermark is never going to work. “De-glazing” training images is as easy as running it through a denoising upscaler. If someone really wanted to make a LORA of your art, Glaze and Nightshade are not going to stop them.

If you really want to protect your art from being used as positive training data, use a proper, obnoxious watermark, with your username/website, with “do not use” plastered everywhere. Then, at the very least, it’ll be used as a negative training image instead (telling the model “don’t imitate this”).

There is never a guarantee your art hasn’t been scraped and used to train a model. Training sets aren’t commonly public. Once you share your art online, you don’t know every person who has seen it, saved it, or drawn inspiration from it. Similarly, you can’t name every influence and inspiration that has affected your art.

I suggest that anti-AI art people get used to the fact that sharing art means letting go of the fear of being copied. Nothing is truly original. Artists have always copied each other, and now programmers copy artists.

Capitalists, meanwhile, are excited that they can pay less for “less labor”. CÁCH TẠO NỘI DUNG FAQ BẰNG AI

Bài viết này chia sẻ về việc sử dụng công cụ AI có tên là Perplexity (perplexity.ai) để tạo các nội dung FAQ một cách hiệu quả. Thông qua việc nhập các từ khóa hoặc câu hỏi vào công cụ, Perplexity sẽ cung cấp các câu trả lời ngắn gọn và chính xác, dựa trên nguồn thông tin từ các bài viết đang đứng đầu trên Google.

Trước đây, việc tạo nội dung FAQ thường gặp khó khăn trong việc tìm kiếm và biên tập câu trả lời. Tuy nhiên, với sự hỗ trợ của Perplexity, quá trình này trở nên đơn giản và nhanh chóng hơn. Bằng cách này, người viết chỉ cần nhập câu hỏi và sử dụng câu trả lời được tạo ra bởi công cụ, sau đó chỉnh sửa cho phù hợp với nhu cầu cụ thể.

Điểm đáng chú ý là câu trả lời từ Perplexity ngắn gọn và dễ hiểu, phù hợp với định dạng FAQ. Nó cũng đưa ra các liên kết tới nguồn thông tin gốc, giúp người đọc có thể tìm hiểu thêm chi tiết nếu cần.

Tuy nhiên, nếu có nhu cầu, người sử dụng có thể yêu cầu Perplexity viết lại câu trả lời. Bên cạnh đó, công cụ cũng đưa ra các gợi ý cho các câu hỏi tiếp theo.

Thường khi viết một bài blog, page hay trong nội dung các bài mô tả sản phẩm thì cũng có lúc cần sử dụng tới FAQ, trước đây mình thường tìm kiếm từ khóa dài với dạng truy vấn đề đặt câu hỏi cho FAQ, nhưng về phần trả lời thì hay gặp chút khó khăn bởi 2 lý do:

Lên Google tìm thì toàn bài dài viết vòng vo, mà đọc xong để đúc kết cả câu trả lời ngắn cho FAQ thì mất thời gian

Trả lời sao cho có sự tổng hợp và tỷ lệ chính xác cao thì mất thời gian tham khảo nhiều nguồn

Nhưng giờ đây có con AI này giải quyết khá ổn, trong nhiều bài viết như mình ví dụ ở hình số 3 chẳng hạn, thì sẽ có những từ khóa là câu hỏi truy vấn dài nhưng lại không thể nào tạo 1 cái heading và viết diễn giải ra vì quá ngắn, càng không ổn nếu viết một bài riêng vì volume search rất nhỏ. Với mình lúc này đưa nó vào FAQ rất hợp lý.

Bước 1: mình đưa chính keyword đó (cũng là câu hỏi) vào Perplexity, sau đó chờ đợi câu trả lời

Bước 2: mình copy keyword đó đưa vào phần câu hỏi của FAQ, còn câu trả lời của Perplexity mình biên tập lại cho khá chút (miễn là giữ đúng ý) chứ không copyNhư vậy là xong (với các câu hỏi mình tự nghĩ ra thì cũng có thể post lên đó để hỏi nó), sở dĩ mình giới thiệu cách này thay vì như trước đây tự lên Google tìm đọc và viết câu trả lời là bởi các lý do sau đây:

Con Perplexity này nó không tự bịa ra câu trả lời như ông ChatGPT, mà nó sẽ dựa vào nguồn các bài đang TOP trên Google, nên nói đúng ra nó làm thay mình việc đọc các bài trên SERP và đưa ra câu trả lời.

Ở câu trả lời của nó rất ngắn gọn, phù hợp với FAQ hơn là các bài dài lê thê vòng vo trên Google mà kéo đọc tới cuối mới ra câu trả lời

Ngoài ra anh em chưa ưng ý thì có thể bắt nó Rewrite lại, phía dưới cũng sẽ có thêm 1 số gợi ý câu hỏi tiếp theo (nhưng mình ít quan tâm cái này), vì mục đích chỉ cần nội dung trả lời cho câu hỏi chính.

Tóm lại, việc sử dụng Perplexity giúp tạo nội dung FAQ một cách nhanh chóng và hiệu quả, giảm bớt thời gian tìm kiếm và biên tập. Tuy nhiên, việc tối ưu hóa cho SEO và TOP vẫn đòi hỏi sự nghiên cứu và thử nghiệm thêm. Chúc mọi người có một tháng mới đầy niềm vui và thành công!

Randomly rolling in because I see a mention of 静夜思 and it's many iterations!

I find it interesting and super helpful to not hold on too hard to the idea that the versions of the poems and lyrics we read today are exactly what they were when they left the minds of their creators all those hundreds of years ago. There was probably never a true or 'accurate' version to be found out there at all xD

How did poets - with their varied social class, economic status and hence access to materials and tools - compose poetry, record poetry? We know Emperors probably had scribes 24/7 hanging on to their every word live, but what about when someone walking in the rain, a poor ordinary scholar, a relegated official, a minister on horseback or a lady on a boat are struck by inspiration? All they'd have to rely on is their own memory! Or maybe the memories of people fortunate enough to hear them speak a work into existence at the time xD Who knows? It could have been just a very everyday occurrence. Our lives are so far removed from theirs 🥺🥺🥺

And then! When does the work find its audience? How does it get transmitted? Is it repeated by friends casually in conversation? Is it sung in entertainment houses? Do people hum it in the streets? Does it get written in someone's little copy notebook, or did a husband murmur it to his wife? Did someone scribble an exiting new find in a letter to an appreciative friend in lands distant? Does the poet write it down when they finally got to writing implements and did they change their minds and swap out any words, or rewrite a line? Who compiles it all in the end and how is the work reproduced? Along the way, were there errors introduced? Did someone with a brush or coal pen miss a radical, or copy in an annotation? Did the hand of someone who carved and put the printing stamps together slip? Or did someone else down the road think the poem could be improved? Perhaps that it needed a title? Did manuscripts barely survive chaos and wars, or did someone keep it in moth eaten box for fifteen years and more?

I'll stop here. You get the idea xD

So if you've ever seen poems with multiple versions, multiple attributions or even different titles - it's probably any combination of those reasons and even weirder ones that we'd never believe unless it happened under our noses.

It's often an extremely wild (though fun) experience trying to trace these branches. I hope readers don't ever dismiss it as just being a minor difference in wording. Every poem that's reached us today is so precious, as is the story of how it got here. I mean - what d'you reckon are chances of something we're writing right now getting into the hands of someone living a thousand years and more after we've died?

Embrace ancient poems, lyrics and prose and the journeys & transformations it's taken them to get in your hands!!!

But the thought that somewhere on this planet right now, there are people who still interact with poems in this way is so amazing.

I'm a casual reader of ancient Chinese poetry and translated Chinese poetry xD But I find Xu Yuanchong's translations so fun hahahha. He makes them rhyme! Maybe give him a try too?

the last post abt translation… literally think abt it in relation to mandarin poetry a lot… so here a couple of examples

1. this is one of the most famous poems, written by li bai

床前明月光 Chuáng qián míng yuè guāng [bed] [front] [bright] [moon] [light] Bright moonlight before my bed 疑是地上霜 Yí shì dìshàng shuāng [suspect] [is] [ground] [on] [frost] I suppose it is frost on the ground. 舉頭望明月 Jǔ tóu wàng míng yuè [raise] [head] [look] [bright] [moon] I raise my head to view the bright moon, 低頭思故鄉 Dītóu sī gùxiāng [lower] [head] [think of] [old] [home village] then lower it, thinking of my home village.

translation taken from here. there’s rhythm and rhyme (AABA) here! classic 5 character structure!

2. there’s also a whole BOOK ‘three character classic’ (三字经) which is entirely written in triplets of characters (and yes a Classic™, even i can recite maybe the first few pages)

like this takes so much skill to construct…

3. chengyu!! idioms/proverbs basically. example: 画蛇添足 (to add feet when drawing a snake) which means to add to something unnecessarily. a lot of them are four characters and so many of them have stories behind them. which is so intriguing to consider in terms of translation because how would you translate these? literally (draw snake) or the meaning? or would u have to consider the cultural context of the language you’re translating into? which option would preserve the original text’s intention or is that not the point of a translation?

4. oh refer to this ‘nineteen ways to look at wang wei’. excellent examples of translation in practice and what it loses/adds.

it’s just so interesting to me - there’s an oral tradition for kids to recite the more famous ‘classic’ poems and books, and that inherent rhythm i associate with nursery rhymes is embedded in the language that shapes how things are written…. how are u going to translate that and preserve it accurately? & this is just a couple of thoughts on a language i’m familiar with, just thinking about what translations i’ve read from other languages that have lost some of the original intentions and that i’ll never get to fully appreciate is WILD
