Dutch Schaefer and Linn Kurosawa from Capcom’s Alien vs Predator by Bengus
He did this artwork in preparation that AvP would be included in the Capcom Beat 'Em Up Bundle and these two would join the rest of the characters in the big group cover art. Sadly it didnt happen.

it's an amazing year for fans of retro re-releases, and folks like me who like having more classic games in their modern collections.
really want to pick up a copy of Klonoa! Played the 1st game on an emulator a little while ago and loved it. Can't wait to have it and the sequel all done up in HD

Battle Circuit
You defeated Dave? Noo,you'll get me too!
We finally close the book on the Beat 'Em Up Bundle. Battle Circuit was Capcom's last attempt at an arcade beat-'em-up. It was released in 1997, three years after the next-youngest in the bundle (Armored Warriors) and eight years after the first game (Final Fight).
Battle Circuit is the most polished of the games, with the most definitive art style and differentiated characters. The gap between Battle Circuit and its siblings is almost tangible in how the game plays. Where each of the other games feels like a sequel to what came before— like the same team layering learnings and experiments on top of the last game— Battle Circuit plays like something else altogether. It's less like a sequel than a tribute, more like something a modern indie developer would make in homage to the beat-'em-ups of the 80s and 90s than a member of that same class. Battle Circuit folds in some of the concepts that had, by that point, become expected of home console games: the plot is more coherent, daring you to care about the story Captain Commando absolutely didn't care as long as you paid your quarters. There's a great diversity of purchaseable power-ups at the end of each level, and I found myself actually caring about my characters movesets and equipment in a way the earlier games never compelled me to. In that way this kid brother feels like a bridge between the golden age of arcade games like Armored Warriors and contemporary tributes to that age, like River City Girls.
Across our time with the Bundle, we played games ranging from serious to comical. By adopting a goofy, more vibrant, comic book-like art style to go with its memorable characters, Battle Circuit is by far the silliest. It's also the most self-aware of that silliness, which I feel works for it here when building out its sense of humor.
If I were to replay any of the games, it would probably be Battle Circuit. But, honestly, I've probably had enough of beat-'em-ups for a good while.
