Common Misconceptions about One Day Car Insurance Debunked ?
Tumblr media
Don’t Be Fooled: Myths About One Day Car Insurance Busted (UK)
Need to borrow a friend’s car for a quick errand? Inheriting a classic car that needs a test drive? One day temporary car insurance can be a lifesaver in these situations. But there’s a lot of misinformation floating around. Let’s debunk some common misconceptions about one day car insurance in the UK:
Myth #1: It’s Expensive Compared to Annual Policies
One day car insurance might seem pricier at first glance. However, consider the cost-effectiveness. If you only need cover for a short period, it’s far cheaper than paying for a whole month’s worth of unused insurance on an annual policy.
Myth #2: It’s Only for Young or Inexperienced Drivers
Anyone can benefit from one day car insurance! It’s perfect for occasional drivers, borrowing a car, taking a learner vehicle out for practice, or driving a newly purchased car home before registering it permanently.
Myth #3: It Doesn’t Offer Full Coverage
One day temporary car insurance can provide comprehensive coverage similar to your annual policy. This typically includes third-party liability, fire and theft, and even breakdown cover. The specific options will vary depending on the provider, so be sure to check the details before purchasing.
Myth #4: It’s a Hassle to Get
The beauty of one day car insurance is its convenience. Several reputable insurers in the UK, like TempCoverNow.com [TempCoverNow.com], offer online quotes and allow you to purchase a policy in minutes.
Myth #5: It’s Only Available for Cars
One day temporary insurance isn’t limited to cars. You can also get one week van insurance [one week van insurance uk] or one month van insurance [one month van insurance uk] if you need to rent a van for a short period. Similarly, coverage for motorbikes and even classic cars is often available.
Myth #6: It Doesn’t Count Towards My No Claims Bonus
One day car insurance typically doesn’t affect your No Claims Bonus (NCB) if you have a standard annual policy. Since it’s a separate, temporary policy, any claims made on it won’t impact your main insurance.
Considering One Day Cover?
Now that we’ve cleared the air, you can make an informed decision. If you need short-term car insurance in the UK, one day temporary cover offers a convenient and affordable solution. So, next time you need to borrow a car or test drive a new purchase, don’t get caught out — get covered with one day car insurance!

speaking of ocd, I think I'm realizing that I truly don't have anxiety and it's literally just my ocd. im not anxious about anything until it involves me and suddenly I'm spiraling
#[static]#it's hard to describe succinctly but the anxiety I deal with nowadays is directly related to my ocd and autism#some anxiety is so easy to brush off but the ones stemming from my ocd are extremely difficult to get out from under#i'll spiral for weeks about one specific thing and ruminate on it and mentally worry and pick at it forever#it's utterly exhausting jfkdghdf some days are easier than others#and often that one thing I ruminate on becomes multiple things all stemming from the first thing#like recently it's been my car ... the thing is totally fine ... runs fine drives fine but ive been freaked out by it for the last 3 weeks#every time i go into the shop theyre like ... everything is good in fact its in good condition for its age and they'll mention like#one thing that will need to be replaced to keep it in tip top condition and then my brain will fixate on it and imagine all the ways#something horrific will happen if that doesnt get changed and then that leads to all the other things in the car suddenly freaking me out#i defs used to have general anxiety and depression but those went away literally the day i got top surgery#poof instantly gone it was wild and i kept waiting for the other shoe to drop#never did but now my ocd has been really bad the last 6 months cuz of all the extra horrifying things going on#so i thought it was just my anxiety coming back but this week i realized it was my ocd and have been treating it accordingly#and ive seen some relief but i definitely need to go back to therapy once i get my insurance again#its the only way to get a hold on it and my last therapist ended up moving states so we didnt get to work on tools for it very much#im yapping at this point i just needed to vent for a second about how truly yucky ocd makes me feel

#I’ve been so fucking frustrated these past few weeks between insurance not covering my meds and having to jump through hoops to get my#injections and shit#but god ive been having crazy joint issues the past two weeks#yesterday I literally couldn’t get out of bed#I can’t sleep doing laundry is exhausting#I’m taking the max amount of ibuprofen my doctor prescribed and it’s not doing anything#it just hurts all the time#the weather is finally nice and I can’t do anything but lay in bed with the lights off#I had an event I had been planning for for MONTHS for pride#and at one point I had to stop and lock myself in my friends car for a half hour#just to cry because my hips and knees hurt so badly#I couldn’t even enjoy the after party because I just wanted to get home and lay down#I’m so frustrated not being able to do anything#I just want to get some relief from this shit and my meds can take up to 12 weeks to work#they were prescribed eight weeks ago but insurance denied them#because apparently they always deny immune suppressants the first time around and then approve of them to save money#I wouldn’t be in pain right now If my insurance just approved my meds in May#I can’t fucking adjust to this I was a competitive dancer I’m twenty two I don’t understand any of this#the last time I was at the rheumatologists after getting my injections I held the door for an older woman who also had arthritis#and I was all shaken up over my appointment and she was so nice but was in a lot of pain and when I said#‘I understand I’m sorry’ she just looked at me so genuinely sad and said ‘but you are so young?’ YEAH I am too young for this#I’m just so tired and so angry all the time and I’m sick of everything hurting when I’m trying to sleep#my best friend is traveling at

What is the point of insurance. I file a claim. They call me. Say they need more information. None of the information is about the actual incident, it’s all stuff they already have on file about my car (make and model, license plate, etc). Oh! They also have to ask if I had a child’s car seat in the car at the time of the incident, because apparently that’s important. And finally after all of this I ask, “so now what? Are you gonna pay for this?” and the lady goes “to be completely honest, it will probably be cheaper for you to find a shop on your own that will do it the cheapest than go through one connected with your insurance because you’re technically at fault for this and will end up paying for it out of pocket most likely because of the way your copay is set up.” HELLO??? HELLO!?!? I’m at fault for someone breaking my window and trying to steal my car???? God fucking dammit I hate insurance why am I PAYING for this every month just for you to not cover anything 😭😭

I am in a bit of a dire situation regarding finances and I desperately want to replace my toy after what happened last time. I need about £100 for that.
if I opened commissions would anyone want to nab a slot?

well over 2 years after the actual back injury for some reason it's decided to punish me with the full rage of god. am currently using a cane in order to sit up. it took me a full seven minutes to roll over in bed last night. literally why? i gave you so much physical therapy, back. yesterday i lifted my left hand above my head and then screamed and fell on the floor. stayed there maybe 10 minutes, trying to slowly move into a position that didn't actively hurt
(all of them actively hurt. breathing also hurts. tried a bath and nearly died because it turns out you have to support your body to not go under the water and moving any limb can light up the pain)
but everyone says you can't just like wait it out in bed and should be as active as your pain lets you be, so im sitting for at least an hour or something before back to bed

I knew updating my information for next year's insurance rates would make me feel ill but boy it made me feel ill. Going from paying $1 a month for insurance I rarely need to paying $142 per month for insurance I will rarely need, when the amount of money I am getting paid only just allows me to break even on bills and such in the first place, is a huge blow. I hate this. I hate it so much. And it's still the better option because if I tried to get insurance through my work it would be $300.
I don't even really get the option of trying to go without insurance because I have a chronic illness and cannot afford to take that risk anymore than I can afford to pay. It's hellish in both directions.
