WINX CLUB 2004
But the truth is, no one in the whole universe could ever steal your past, your dreams, or your magic powers. The witches do not own them. They are yours to keep, forever. Bloom, to recover your powers, look deep inside yourself.

So I can't say that I was a big fan of Winx Club, in fact I thought the show was tacky and annoying back when I was a kid though when I eventually did give it a try years later, I found myself finding it to be not as bad as I was anticipating and part of the reason was because of the Trix trio, specifically the calm and collected Darcy. Oh my gosh did I absolutely love this character, she was easily my most favorite character in the show. I loved her dark boho aesthetic and I loved her voice provided by Caren Manuel with the 4kids dub, she sounded so sultry and stealthily cunning, I loved it

4kids Rouge supremacy for being NY based
Yeah I gotta say, I have a lot of affection for Lani, but Caren Manuel is probably the best voice Rouge ever had

What are your fave English voice actors (or voice claims) for Sonic characters? I'm mostly interested in Rouge, Shadow and Sonic cause I wanna know which voices I should assign to them while reading your fics but feel free to list whoever else you'd like!
oh good question!! none of them are a perfect match for what's in my head tbh, but i'll list what's closest! i don't care if you imagine other voices tho, it's all abt having fun! this is just what i think of :> rouge - kind of a more laid-back version of caren manuel's voice for her? like, less inflection overall (IDK she's got a bit of a stoner voice in my head, for lack of a better term haha). i like lani minella's voice as well ^_^ shadow - jason griffith is definitely my favorite, followed by ryan in the snapcube dubs! sonic - there's no voice actors i dislike for sonic tbh! penny's voice in the snapcube dubs might be my favorite though, because it sounds more real and human compared to most of the others, or honestly i do love devon mack's take! as far as the more classic voice actors go tho, ryan drummond is probably my fav

I finished Winx Club season 1( both dubs) and, as I stated in a previous post, here’s my overall thoughts/ review.
Tumblr media
I really like it. Season 1, even to a fan or a newcomer, is really solid. The thing is, even after 17 years, it still holds up really well. The stories and characters are still strong, relatable and interesting. Their little quirks are adorable and really fitting for their characters.
Tumblr media
The dub I first watched was the Rai dub, since its the most accurate to the original Italian. The voices were fitting for their characters for the most part. The voices of the Trix were meh and I didn’t exactly think that they were that fitting for their characters, but I got use to them. Tecna with a raspy kinda voice is something I never knew I needed omg. Stella’s voice was a little weird at first, but I got used to it and started liking in for her.
Tumblr media
Then, came the 4kids dub. I already knew some things about it, like original music, the trix voices and British Tecna. I was a bit thrown off when some events would be kinda switched around in the earlier episodes, but that’s a minor thing and is easy to forget ngl. I feel like the comedy was truly iconic. I loved how the dialogue kinda dates it in the early 2000s.
Tumblr media
Speaking of the voices, THE TRIX WERE SO ICONIC HOLY SHIT!!! Liza Ortiz’s Icy has this icy shrill that fits our favorite ice queen TO A T! Caren Manuel’s Darcy is so good. Her Darcy had this deepness that really elevated Darcy’s manipulative and more reserved personality. Suzy Myers’ Stormy was also a standout. I like how her Stormy voice is higher than Icy and Stormy’s are. It reallt helped portray Stormy’s quick tempered and violence perfectly. Now, British Tecna was a bit meh for me, but I quickly got used to it, and I think it’s growing on me.
Tumblr media
All in all, I would give this season a deserving 8/10. Pretty solid start to the series and I can’t wait to watch the others I haven’t seen.

Got another drawing done this time it’s Sweet (Dolce in the Italian version) I’ve never drawn any of these characters before (except Raf but that was forever ago and she’s in desprate need of a redo) so for a first attempt it’s not bad.
Fun Fact: Lisa Adams voices Sweet in the English Dub. She also voiced Stella in the 4kids dub of Winx Club for one episode (3x02) I don’t actually know why maybe Caren Manuel was sick that day? I dunno.

Stella's stand-in voice actress (why did she have one?? Caren Manuel is still voicing Darcy in these episodes) was Dulce in Angel's Friends, I KNEW I recognized her from somewhere

All of the 4kids voice actors warm up to their roles pretty quickly (Liza Jacqueline and Caren Manuel sound kinda spotty at points because they have to speed up their speech to fit the lip flaps, though that gradually goes away) but Lisa Ortiz sounds like she's having a blast and she hits the ground running in terms of her performance, I love hearing her act in this show

Wall Street lower as tariff worries weigh
(Reuters) – Losses in shares of technology and industrial companies dragged Wall Street lower on the first trading day of the second half of this year, as risk of an escalating tariff war between Washington and its trading partners continued to weigh on sentiment.
Shares of trade-sensitive U.S. companies slipped, with Boeing (BA.N) and Caterpillar (CAT.N) down over 1.5 percent. Chipmaker stocks also slid along with a host of U.S.-listed shares of Chinese companies.
Shanghai’s blue chip index .CSI300 slid nearly 3 percent, days before the U.S. tariff on $34 billion worth of Chinese goods comes into effect on July 6, posing threats of a similar response from Beijing.
Trade war worries were also being compounded by a threat from the European Union to hit the United States with almost $300 billion in retaliatory tariffs.
Canada on Friday struck back at the Trump administration over U.S. steel and aluminum tariffs, vowing to impose punitive measures on $12.63 billion worth of American goods.
Global stocks were also facing the impact of a threat to Chancellor Angela Merkel’s German ruling coalition, while the Mexican peso whipsawed after Andres Manuel Lopez Obrador’s election victory set the stage for a left-wing government at a time of tense relations with the United States.
“There’s not a lot of good news for markets to start the week,” Scott Brown, chief economist at Raymond James said.
Brown said with a half-day for the markets on Tuesday and the July fourth holiday coming up, trading volumes could be thin, which might exaggerate any market move.

Twenty-eight of the 30 stocks of the Dow Jones Industrial Average .DJI were trading in the red, with Boeing, 3M (MMM.N) Caterpillar (CAT.N) trading at least 1 percent lower.
Shares of chipmakers, which depend on China for a large portion of their revenue, fell with Micron (MU.O), AMD (AMD.O) and Nvidia (NVDA.O) and Intel (INTC.O) down more than 1 percent.
Among Chinese companies, Alibaba (BABA.N) fell 1.8 percent, while JD.com (JD.O) fell 2.3 percent.
Among the bright spots was Tesla (TSLA.O), which jumped 4.4 percent, after the electric carmaker was said it beat its target of producing 5,000 Model 3 sedans per week.
Dell Technologies Inc (DVMT.N) jumped 7.3 percent after agreeing to buy the tracking stock of VMware (VMW.N), taking a step closer to become a public company again. VMware was up 4.9 percent.
Declining issues outnumbered advancers for a 2.64-to-1 ratio on the NYSE. Declining issues outnumbered advancers for a 2.39-to-1 ratio on the Nasdaq.
The S&P index recorded one new 52-week highs and nine new lows, while the Nasdaq recorded 15 new highs and 24 new lows.
