Red Crackle Week 2024! Prompts and Rules!

The day you’ve all awaited for has arrived. Just in time for Valentine’s Day, we have arranged the dates and themes for Red Crackle Week 2024!

Red Crackle Week 2024 will last from the 11th of February to the 17th + a bonus day in honor of the wonderful RC creator. asphaltis! So be sure to have all your pens, papers, and keyboard ready for the prompts!

Mama Bear And Papa Bear 🥰

Day 5: Domestic

She had just arrived home from work a few hours ago and now she brushes her daughter's hair with small strokes and hums a small tune as she completes the task at hand.

"Mommy, can daddy put me to bed?" Her daughter asks sweetly. Carmen smiles and kisses her daughter on the head. "Sure, my baby."

Their 4 year old daughter, Camilla giggles and runs off to find her father.

Camilla hears shouting coming from her father's at home office and takes a peek inside only to find him talking to someone on the phone.

"Daddy?" She calls. Graham turns to his little girl's voice and smiles when he sees her. "I'm sorry, Shadowsan, but I have to go." With that he cuts the call and takes his little girl into his arms.

"My little fighter, what are you doing here? Shouldn't you be in bed?" He asks as he runs his one hand through her light brown locks.

Camilla giggles and hugs her father tightly. "She wants you to put her to bed." He looks at the entrance of his office door to see his beautiful wife in a red silk nightgown.

His heart skips a beat just staring at her. "Did she now?" Carmen nods and smiles at her husband and daughter.

"Daddy, can I sleep by you and mommy?" Graham looks at Carmen and she nods slowly. "I guess you can, little fighter." Camilla cheers and Graham walks them to their bedroom.

Carmen goes and sits in bed and takes her little girl into her arms. "I'll be back, let me change first." Graham says and kisses his girls on the head.

Carmen places Camilla in the middle and covers her with the comforter. Graham returns and slips into bed and smiles at his daughter.

"How was work? I am sorry I couldn't come see you when you came home." Graham says as he taps his daughter lightly.

Carmen shakes her head and smiles at him. "I can completely understand that the projects you are working on take time, and to answer your question, work was boring as usual. I hate signing papers all day."

Graham chuckles. "That's my Carm." Carmen blushes and looks at Camilla who is already fast asleep. "I know we haven't had much family time lately due to both of us being really busy with work, but I really want to start."

Graham nods in agreement. "Yeah, I think we should take a few weeks off to spend with Camilla."

Graham kisses his girls once more and sighs. "I love you." He mutters to Carmen. Carmen smiles and puts her hand on top of his that rests on their daughter and squeezes it.

"I love you too, Gray."

They both have busy lives, not having much time to spend with their baby girl, but they decided to give themselves time to be with her, to love her and cherish her.

Work isn't important to them, their daughter is. Everyday when they come from work there was always a routine they followed, but now they decided to change that for the better.

They decided to change it for their daughter and to have family time again.

I think their daughter's name would be Camilla, it just fits 🤭 also when I thought of Domestic I thought of them with their kid, something fluffy 🥺

“GRAY!”

I’m fiddling with the electricity supply, barely managing to place the final touches before I get wrapped up in a bear hug. My heart skips a beat at the familiar voice, and from the corner of my eye, I see the familiar lump of curly auburn hair and register the scent of rose-scented perfume I know all too well. The wetness on my coat is surprising.

“Carmen?” I break the hug, staring into her blue-grey eyes, and they are slightly swollen and red, “you’re crying.”

Oh gosh. I messed up. 

“I know… I just… I thought you were gone…” the last of her sentence becomes an inaudible murmur as she sobs and lets out a soft hiccup.

“Why are you here?” I try not to sound too condescending, and the straight look of Shadowsan appears in my head. I instantly feel scared.

Her face falls in five seconds, and I’d feel guilty if I didn’t hear what she says next, “My team dragged me here.” I grip onto her bare hand as she buries her face into my chest, and my heart flutters to seventh heaven. But at the same time, I can tell that she’s more closed off than usual, and I tuck a strand of hair behind her ear. Zack and Ivy are probably whispering somewhere, Shadowsan is probably judging me, and Player is probably on video call listening in to this conversation.

So I better not screw anything up.

“You seem quiet. What’s going on? Are you okay?”

“I don’t know how to say this but I… I… I love you.” the confession nearly goes unheard, but I manage to catch it amidst the whir of the air-conditioning, and it’s then I realise that most of the men who work here have stopped in their tracks, staring at us, and the chatting crowd outside has partially gone silent. I try my best to ignore it.

Did she just…?

Oh god, she just did. What do I say back? How’ll she react? Will it be bad or good? Somewhere in the back of my mind, I hear the two Boston siblings giggling, and I do my best to shake the thought out of my head.

“I love you too, and–” I manage the best and most reassuring smile I can, only to have the remaining words die on my tongue when I feel a tug on my coat, followed by her lips on mine. I don’t know what to do for a second as I hear my heart pound in my chest and feel the blood rushing through my ears.

She’s kissing me.

My first kiss with the most beautiful girl in the world is great.

I can’t think straight, and I’m left stunned.

But it is kind of nice, actually.

I let my eyes slip shut, wrapping my arms around her waist and pulling her closer as I run a hand through her auburn locks. The world seemingly stops rotating as if frozen in time. It’s not like the kissing scenes in movies, but just something new, something that I haven’t gone through, even with my first girlfriend.

Heaven. Sheer heaven.

Heaven is what it is.

As we pull away, my hands moving to grip hers, I open my eyes, and it’s then that I register what’s going on in the real world. My male colleagues are standing, frozen in shock, one of them yelling, “YOU GO, GRAY!” while the rest blend in with the ocean of ‘oohs’ and ‘aahs’, some staring at me with what I perceive as envy in their eyes. Carmen’s crew has moved forward– Zack and Ivy are filming the entire thing and snickering, Player has his jaw slack from what I see on Carmen’s phone, and Shadowsan has his eyes widened as he’s chewing on something that looks like a Snickers bar.

I can hear whispers washing through the crowd, like ‘have you seen the look in his eyes whenever he mentions her? You should’ve seen the sparkle in them. That’s true love there’ and ‘this is Grammy-class romance here. I’m filming this for my Instagram’. Shadowsan is now uttering something that sounds like ‘Carmen is officially not single anymore.’, the last of his Snickers bar gone; and Zack is literally screaming at a volume so loud the security guards at the other end of the country could probably hear him, “OH MY GOSH! THEY KISSED! THIS WILL MAKE GOOD CONTENT FOR THE KIDS!”

Shadowsan, please, PLEASE don’t kill me. The last thing I want is to be at the hands of a sharp knife as he hurls profanities at me.

“Well done, Carm,” Ivy walks over, putting her hand on her shoulder, “you two are officially a couple now.”

Her cheeks turn crimson, and I can’t help but make the association.

La femme rouge.

“So…” I speak up, “you want to… go out on a date with me?”

Redcrackle ship analysis pt.2

I just wanted to talk about the clear soft spot they have for each other

He wouldn’t have done those things for anyone else

The way both of them had a soft spot for each other, I every single one of their versions (black sheep, carmen Sandiego, evil carmen and Gray, Graham and crackle) it’s insane to me.

Black sheep was a rebellious spirit. She wouldn’t listen to anyone, and yet she still listened to Gray, she trusted him.

Carmen Sandiego was a grown woman, who was not afraid of beating some VILE operatives and yet she always had hope on Gray, she always knew he was good deep down, she always protected him, cared for him and she was always on his side as long as possible.

Evil carmen wouldn’t even listen to the faculty, but yet, she listened to Gray when he said to let Tigress go, and I assume many other times since we saw only a little part of the 6 months she was brainwashed.

Gray had some friends, yeah, but no one was like carmen, their bond was special and he never cared of who he had to go against to protect carmen, either it was Tigress, the faculty or whatever.

Graham (brainwashed gray) barely knew carmen and even since their first interaction he was so clearly in love with her, he asked her out on a date and even though she didn’t show up he was willing to go all way to New Zealand just to have a coffee with her. He was willing to help her with “criminal” things even though he was good now.

Crackle worked very good with evil carm and when he realised that she was not the real carmen and that she wanted to kill shadowsan, he got himself arrested so that she could “come back”, and he made himself shock and pass out just so that she could make her own decisions, not the one that were forced to her.

And the way they always put each other well-being and happiness before their own, letting each other go even though they didn’t wanted to do it.
