I hate to be the one to ask but…catboy!Desmond?

Why would you hate to ask such a thing? Catboy!Desmond is a very fun idea.

I mean, think about it.

Is he the only catboy in the entire world?

Is this an AU populated by cat people?

Is this an AU where only a few people are cat people and its genetics?

Does this mean we will have to live with ourselves with the very idea of catboy!William Miles???

Lollol.

Okay, let’s think of this seriously.

We’ll make Desmond the only catboy in this situation and it’s only talked about.

Feline features are considered divine.

Because the Isus were cat people.

(Let us take a moment to hurl at the image of catgirl!Juno)

And Desmond’s feline features only ‘sprouted’ after he died.

When he wakes up, his human ears are gone and he has this big fluffy brown cat ears on the top of his head. He can’t control his tail at all and it reacts with his emotions.

His eyes now glow in the dark.

And he has little itty-bitty fangs!

The entire thing deserves a big long freak out session but he can’t even do that because…

He’s stuck in the past!

Unorganized Notes:

As the only cat person in the entire world, he has to hide his ears and tail. The eyes and fangs are… manageable as long as he’s careful.

His tail has a mind of its own and it reacts to Desmond’s actual feelings, no matter how hard he tries to pretend to not be affected by anything.

You get to pick which ancestor has been ‘blessed’ by catboy!Desmond’s appearance. Regardless, the main point is that the ancestor gets to be the one to find out Desmond’s true ‘identity’ and become Desmond’s owner.

By owner, we mean they’re in charge of his food and lounging as well as taking care of Desmond because he’s quite bad at taking care of himself.

They’re pretty much a cat owner now for better or worse.

Because he is a catboy, he has developed cat-like characteristics like… liking really high places, getting distracted by certain objects and wanting to chase/get said objects (RIP pigeons), sleeping where there’s sunlight, purring when he’s pleased and… an unnatural hatred for getting wet.

Also he starts to lick people he likes. No one is more embarrassed by it than Desmond himself.

Desmond liking high places becomes a spot of bother because, well, he has the reflexes of a cat and the skills of an Assassin so they’re really, really high… like synchronization points high.

Desmond cannot stand things dangling like ropes. He will start smacking it before he catches himself and then he’d be embarrassed.

If you cannot find him… check the newly washed clothes and blankets.

Caleb -- fucking around in picrew. First thing I decided about him was that he was a sweetheart

Belladonna -- fucking around on a coloring app I have XD First thing decided was I think that she has her cat, Oracle

Ellingwood -- At work, I saw someone with the last name Ellingwood, decided that was a really good name, then promptly decided that Bell needed a girlfriend XD The first thing I decided about them was that they were Fae

Desmond -- I don't entirely remember, he is the oldest of this bunch, made him a couple years ago. I think I was just craving a silly catboy XD First thing I decided about him was how he speaks, and that he has a similar voice to Double Trouble in She-Ra (just deeper)

The Circus Master -- .....Listen, I spend a lot of time in Picrew XD really, her inspiration was the spooky circus songs I have in my playlist, plus a little bit of the Stranger from The Magnus Archives. I think the first thing I decided about her was that her proportions are all off, she is Tall and Long and Creepy

Desmond doesn't use Candles himself but he does use Incense which he always picks mint and or Lavender- two scents that for some weird reason give him energy and relax him.

If Des is stressed or tense or relaxing after a workout he just he'll put on some incense- despite that he does sometimes enjoy smelling nice candles when he's walking at the store.

True name, metamorphosis, treasure, home,,,

True Name. What is their name's meaning, origin, etc?

Ahperikaar's name is a mashup of three words, one of which is a god of Darkness from some Middle East mythology, and the other two being other words for darkness in other languages. Unfortunately, I don't have the exact words or the god anymore, since that info was saved in a discord server that was deleted long ago.

And I just liked the name Desmond XD I made that picrew, went 'hmmm I want your name to start with a D' and I just liked Desmond XD

Metamorphosis. Has this character evolved/changed since you first conceptualized them?

God yeah. It used to be nothing, pretty much, just bare ass bones of a character. Literally just scare factor at first, a plot device, sort of like how the Entity is in canon XD and now It has so much life and I love It immensely

I think Des has changed a bit. When I first made him, I just wanted a pretty catboy, and he's definitely a fuller character now XD

Treasure. What is something they like/love?

It loves Its planets....loves all the little creatures, just loves nature.....It likes seeing what grows...

Now that he's able to sort of relax, I think Des finds a lot of enjoyment in some more childish things.....like playing with cat toys XD and just playing in general, sprinting around the house, just being a spastic 'cat'

Home. Describe their relationship with someone in their family, friend group, with a QPP, a romantic interest, etc.

With Dark, I think their relationship has definitely improved. I mean, he used to hate It, quite severely, and I mean I can't really blame him. I still don't think Dark's exactly fond of It, but he does more than tolerate It, you feel? Like he doesn't have to leave the room when It shows up anymore ksjdfng

Des really loved his mother....they were never far apart, if they could help it, kept close to each other, played games in secret when they thought they could get away with it, they just....looked after each other. And despite the circumstances, I think they were always as happy as they could be around each other.

Catboy nonny again, just throwing some sh*t around, what if Desmond survives the Eye but it turns him into catboy and now modern assasssins have to deal with it?

William Miles would be looking for a cure while asking Desmond to take a break. Shaun and Rebecca gets roped into keeping Desmond safe.

Desmond loses the ability to speak (other than meow) but he has a phone with a text to speech app so it’s not all that bad.

A month in his break, Bill tells him that he needs to do missions once more and Desmond just shrugged.

It’s not surprising and they do have a lot of things to do, especially about Abstergo.

Rebecca and Shaun are worried though but Desmond just waves their worry off.

In other words…

Other than the fact that he now has cat ears and a cat tail…

Desmond will just do what he needs to do as an Assassin in the modern day.

Unorganized Notes:

Only Bill, Rebecca, Shaun and the crew of Altaïr II knows that he’s turned into a catboy. Everyone else are told that Desmond Miles lost the ability to speak after turning the device to save the world.

This is a catboy setup where Desmond doesn’t have an owner. He’s actually more like a stray cat in this one with Rebecca and Shaun acting more like that nice couple that leaves food for the stray that sometimes visit their balcony. (Metaphorically)

Catnip works with Desmond and they found that out when Rebecca jokingly bought one during a grocery run. It gives him the zoomies but he also acts on instinct and ‘instinct’ for Desmond means taking down everything that he sees as a threat… which is like almost everyone.

Cats don’t like Desmond and he automatically hisses whenever a cat hisses at him. Kittens though make him want to groom them and pet them and “Put down that box, Desmond! Those kittens belong to the woman upstairs!”

He saves the prisoners in the Madrid facility around the time Cal starts seeing Aguilar as part of his Bleeding Effect. He actually calls Desmond “Ezio?” when they first met and Desmond just went “meow?”. It took a few people telling Cal that, no, he wasn’t hallucinating, Desmond did meow at him.

This leads to the people who were meant to die during the rebellion inside the facility live and they sorta got adopted into Desmond’s team while the others who were suffering from the Bleeding Effect severely were sent to a different facility where they could hopefully recover.

This does mean that Lina and Emir sometimes slip and call Desmond “Ezio”. Cal does it too at times but they mostly just commiserate as two ‘normal’ runaway dudes that got roped back into the Brotherhood because the Templars were jerks.

At that point, Shaun just says “Oh, I guess we’re now Desmond’s clowder, huh?” and everyone just goes “???” because none of them knew that a group of cats is called a clowder.

They managed to save Elijah before her mother gets killed and they take them in to protect them. Desmond and Elijah’s mother are sorta awkward with one another but there’s no hard feelings because it was a one night stand and it was her choice to not tell Desmond. Desmond understands it and was okay with it because, even if he wasn’t in his son’s life all these years, he was able to be have a normal peaceful life.

He does purr a lot and grooms Elijah whenever he’s close though. It’s awkward as hell but they’re trying to make up for lost time… with Desmond being a catboy and Elijah not telling anyone about his strange dreams and the arrogant man who whispers to him.

Since cucumbers come originally from like India or China I think, it wouldn’t be a stretch that Altaïr or someone in the Levant could get his hands on one and….cat instincts react…

For those unfamiliar with the whole ‘cats are scared of cucumbers’ thing (like me), here’s a compilation of it.

Malik did not know where Altaïr bought that thing.

Merchants knew that their mentor liked seeing new and strange things so they would peddle their wares here in Masyaf. It was helping with the development of the village beneath the castle but…

It also meant that Altaïr bought a lot of strange things.

Including these… dark green elongated… things.

“They’re for Desmond.” Altaïr said and frowned when he saw Malik’s expression. Altaïr sighed as he clarified, “It’s not for… pleasure.”

Malik continued to judge him quietly, making Altaïr’s right eye twitch as he stated, “It really isn’t for pleasure.”

Malik lowered his head to stare at the shape of these dark green things then look back at Altaïr, making it clear how he felt about the obvious lies leaving Altaïr’s lips.

Altaïr rubbed his face before saying, “Not everything is about sex, Malik. It says something about you that you would think that something as innocent as vegetables would be some kind of device for pleasure.”

“I believe it says more about how you have been acting with Desmond that our minds immediately assume this is related to something sexual because it’s for Desmond.” Malik countered.

“It’s not.” Altaïr stressed.

“Meow?”

Both men turned towards the door where Desmond peeked his head, ears flickering a bit. His face was full of curiosity and Altaïr covered the plate of whatever the hell it was with a piece of cloth.

So it was a surprised sex thing.

Malik really needed to get out of here before they started acting like they usually did.

Desmond’s feline eyes zero’ed in on the piece of cloth, having seen Altaïr’s fast movements.

His tails began to swish from side to side.

“Desmond, no-”

Malik stepped to the side, more to not be part of whatever was about to happen than to actually evade Desmond’s attack.

The cloth was pulled back and thrown, Malik calmly catching it in midair before it smack him on the face. He started to fold it while Desmond stared at the dark green things. Altaïr was by his side, staring at Desmond’s face.

The anticipation rolling in waves all over him.

Malik slowly made his way towards the door, placing the neatly folded cloth on the nearby desk when he passed by it.

Desmond made a weird sound that was half a meow and half a squeal and grabbed one of the dark green things and-

… ate it.

Malik could see the happy expression on Desmond’s face as he ate the thing enthusiastically.

And the disappointment in Altaïr’s expression.

Catboy nonny once again, considering something. So, the ancient Egyptians revered cats. Sooooo Bayek meets catboy!desmond?

It would be funny if Bayek thought he was a messenger of Bastet when they first met then, when he realized that Desmond is actually a man, he wondered if he was a messenger of Maahas or even Maahas’ son with a human mother.

Desmond is just like “???” because his only ‘information’ about Egyptian Gods are like… almost nonexistent? He knows Anubis because of The Mummy Returns.

… That’s it.

So he has no idea who the gods Bayek is talking about are but he does know that cats are really, like, important to Egyptian culture so he just rolls with it.

Whenever Bayek asks if he’s a son or a messenger of this god or another, he just shrugs.

When Bayek asks what he means by that, Desmond tries to make him believe that he has amnesia (which is hard to do via charades as far as Desmond was concerned)

And Bayek, being the kind and helpful medjay that he is (and also being a devout believer of the gods and an over all nice guy as long as one is not connected to the death of his son), tries to help him ‘recover’ his memories.

So, in this one, Bayek doesn’t take Desmond as a ‘pet’. He treats Desmond like a priest of one of the feline gods (no idea who though) that has lost his memories. Sometimes, Desmond feels a bit awkward with how much respect Bayek gives to him because he’s not used to it but he appreciate it though.

Desmond would join Bayek in his travels, more as a companion than anything, with the idea being Desmond might remember something if they visit other locations connected to the gods with feline characteristics.

They hide Desmond’s ears by wrapping a piece of fabric around his head because they don’t want people to question him or, worse, try to kidnap him or something.

Catboy nonny back with a catboy thing as usual: let’s go rated E for a split second and what if Desmond is transported to Altair’s childhood as a kid but also a catboy?

Umar tried to be with his son as much as he could but it was inevitable that his missions would leave him away from Masyaf far longer than he wished.

He knew that his son spent his days in the company of the scholars and the books in Masyaf’s grand library. Al Mualim had let the boy in as a show of his trust on Umar and even had some of the scholars teach his son to read and write at an early age.

Umar had never doubted that his son was being treated well. He never doubted that his son was safe.

Bit he also knew that his son buried his loneliness in the comforts of knowledge.

So he could not find it in his heart to tell Altaïr that it was forbidden to have pets when he sent a letter saying that he has a cat now.

Pets were forbidden in Masyaf.

Al Mualim had made it clear how easy it would be for their enemies to use animals against them, to find their weakness or deliver deadly sickness.

But this was the first letter Altaïr ever sent to him, written with unsteady but determined hands.

A scholar must have helped him pen this letter.

He seemed to be enamored by his pet cat.

For a lonely child like Altaïr, it wasn’t surprising…

So Umar wasn’t looking forward in telling Altaïr in person that they couldn’t keep a cat.

Altaïr named his cat ‘Desmond’.

A strange name perhaps but Umar didn’t mind it.

What he did mind was that Desmond wasn’t a cat.

Not truly.

He was a boy who looked so similar to his son that Umar had been worried he was born out of one of the Flowers Umar had shared a night with before he met Maud.

Then…

“Father, this is Desmond!” Altaïr introduced his ‘friend’ with a big smile, his hand holding Desmond’s as the taller boy slouched behind Altaïr.

He was wearing a hood but it was shaped… strangely.

“Say hello to father, Desmond.”

Desmond glanced at Altaïr before staring at Umar.

He made a sound.

It sounded like… ‘hello’ but also like a purr.

And his hood flinched.

It, Umar cannot stress this enough, moved.

“Desmond’s my cat!” Altaïr hugged Desmond with a grin and Umar was about to tell Altaïr that he cannot describe his friends that way when Desmond began to purr.

He was purring as he nuzzled Altaïr’s neck, the movement causing his hood to pull back.

Revealing big fluffy cat ears.
