Oooh!!! Time to explain the ✨️lore✨️ of this au, I guess ahah.

Basically, the golden tickets are sent out and kind of just manifest in the bars for the five children in the world with the strongest magical 'signatures'. This is a world where magic barely exists anymore, just lying dormant in a lot of people- some have much more magic than others.

The five golden ticket winners, Augustus, Veruca, Violet, Mike, and Charlie have very strong dormant magic- which is what Wonka is looking for.

But, in order to bring out that magic, SOMETHING needs to happen, I guess? That's where their 'demises' come in- the Factory knows what must be done in order for them to use their powers, so it makes these situations and pulls the tour where it needs to!!! Wonka's looking for heirs who can help keep her (the factory) alive.

With Veruca, I'd bet it's. Pretty scary to suddenly understand the squirrels. But it gives her a chance to stop them and perhaps even apologize.

Wonka Genderbent AU @mask131 Edition 

1) For his iteration of Wonka, the idea here was that they'd be androgynous and accept any form of being addressed (sir, mr, my dude, ma'am, lady, ms, etc.) and would both change colour and style of attire instantly (magically, you could say) w/o it being noticed by the tour group until after the fact. It would be themed for each room (mad scientist in inventing room for ex.).

3) Different colour palette options for the fanart I made for Illord’s own genderbent take of CaTcF AU. This one is of his idea of Wonka.  

4) Augusta is a hillbilly child (loosely inspiration by Honey Boo Boo), Carmine is a mischievous trouble maker and lier (Bart Simpson as inspiration), and Warty is a emotionally stunted and sheltered rich boy (vacant stare and posture based on owl). Each has their own profile/chapter of their endgame for them written by mask131 over on DeviantArt under the username, Illord. 5) The Aftermath: a chocolate coated Augusta and is made into a skinnier version of herself ("who'd ever want to date a skinny girl?" ~ Mrs. Gloop), Carmine steals some experimental gum and is turned into a big bloated red tomato 🍅 rather than a blueberry 🫐, and Warty is experiencing terror, fear, anxiousness and pain for the first time ever in his privileged and sheltered life.

6) So in his iteration of the Oompa Loompas, Mask131 suggested fairies (particularly the ones ft. in Disney’s Sleeping Beauty as reference) and a connection that I made being that fairies are a opposite to little men (dwarves, imps, elves, etc.) w/ the former mostly associated w/ femininity and the latter w/ masculinity. An idea for this scenario is they function like a bee hive and have become queen-less due to the predation upon them in Loompaland and then title Wonka their new queen.

My first instinct was to make Robbie Willie Wonka, but hear me out. Wonka is Glanni.

With all of Glanni's connections - and being best friends with the president - he opens a candy factory as another attempt to get money (and to annoy Íþró, most likely). Flobby, Tobby, and Bobby are basically the Oompa Loompas.

Glanni holds a contest in several towns, the prize being a grand tour of his factory, for a total of five kids and one adult each to look after them. Lazytown wins.

Sportacus agrees to go with Ziggy, Milford goes with Stephanie, Bessie goes with Trixie, Stingy brings his maid/babysitter/??? (Jives or Penny maybe?), and that leaves Pixel with... no one. His parents are out of town/busy, and no one else has the time. As a last ditch attempt, they go to Robbie.

At first he's against doing anything with them, but then they explain they're going to a candy factory, and, well, how could he say no? Then he finds out that its run by Glanni, his annoying, pain in the neck brother, and though Robbie kind of wants to abandon the group to their fates rather than deal with family... He needs to make sure his kids- the brats don't die, and he can't risk Glanni getting rid of Sportacus instead of him. (And though his family is annoying as heck, they are amazing at making sweets.) So he stays.

The magic of the factory is all Fae trickery and spellwork, provided by Glanni, Tobby, Flobby, and Bobby- those three possibly being Glanni and Robbie's cousins? That or they're all siblings.

What happens next is anyone's guess.

CatCF Monster AU

Violet should be a vampire fledgling. The gum keeps her bloodsucking urges under control, and her dad buys her the fruity kind because the smell of it blocks the smell of blood. She usually has to wear a sunhat or carry around an umbrella to block herself from the sun, and wears sunglasses since her hypnotizing powers fluctuate from not working at all to working so well, it's crazy.

Veruca is a Frankenstein creation; her body consists of a patchwork of both Caucasian and European limbs. She also dabbles in magic; she wants to be as good a witch as her mother. And what Veruca wants, she's bound to get.

Augustus is basically a sentient blob. He mostly has his powers under control: he no longer risks melting in the summer and he can walk around just fine without leaving trails. Now, he just looks like he's infinitely sweaty.

Charlie, Wonka, and the Buckets are normal.

I read your fanfic where a TV Mike is in gets broken and it made me wonder: what risks does Veruca’s powers have if Mike risks getting stuck in a TV/glitching if the TV breaks?

Mike's powers are a lot more temperamental than Veruca's. His are manifesting in a way that it hasn't before with anyone else- technology is newer, and magic hasn't been super prevalent for a very long time. So the magic is trying to adjust to technology and use it according to how Mike works- it's sorrt of why Mike is so directly connected to the factory later on. He uses her magic as a crutch and she uses his.

Another note on that fic, that was simply Mike playing a trick on Violet and Veruca! He COULD get seriously trapped if something goes wrong, but it was all planned on his part. :)

Veruca herself has a much more simple and 'traditional' power. She prides herself in this- the magical princess power!- but she still is super jealous of the others, especially Charlie.

She's pretty much safe from anything falling apart like that. Besides the off chance she makes an animal mad.

what’s mike’s ability and how does he “manifest” it?

Mike can move through technology, like the TV, at will. His power is most directly related to the Factory itself, as he somehow becomes incredibly attuned to her tech and stuff

The way his powers are 'activated' are by him going through the TV! he's got a bit more of a complicated journey with his powers due to this (he still comes out of the TV tiny, but after some glitching and some testing, he's back to normal size)

The Factory choosing him as her 'favorite' (perhaps other than charlie) vs Wonka, whose least favorite is Mike

In your CATCF Magic AU, what is Veruca’s power and how did she get it?

Ooh!! Veruca can talk to animals! She's got a collection of pets and her demise is because of squirrels, so it makes sense, I guess!

She gets her powers the same way the rest of them do, through their 'demise'. The factory selects a scenario that can drag out her powers and the rest is history!

She manages to get them to stop because they understand her and she also does learn her lesson.

Wonka sends her off to a waiting room area ish with an oompa, then continues one with Mike and Charlie. :)
