I personally headcanon that Gale is genderfluid. I think that he is at home with both he/him and she/her pronouns. I can imagine that she feels so in touch with the wholeness of the Weave in all its aspects and that it makes her feel wholly in touch with his aspects as well. Language makes her feel connected to herself in the same way that an incantation connects his intention with a desired effect.

He would love for his partner to call him their wife. Wife feels the most true to him. At home with them and with Tara, she feels most content with she/her pronouns. In the classroom, he likes for her students to use a mix to get comfortable with the magic of language. With his friends, Gale will let them know what he prefers in that moment, if he has a preference at all that day.

For a long time, Tara and Lady Dekarios were the only ones to know that Gale is genderfluid. But after meeting Tav and the companions, growing with them and overcoming their demons together, she decided to trust them with her wholeness. She is Lord and Lady both. Master and Mistress of the Weave. Gale.

Oh my GOSH- yes...YES!

It literally brings tears to my eyes reading the whole comic through because I fell in love with Cass and how she presented herself at the start so so much. I fell in love with how she was so soft with Casey, and to take that away like...from her...I ~literally~ broke my own heart.

Oof...and Leo...who doesn't wanna hurt the person whose kid he's been looking after for months. And to see her so close to probably death just adds insult to injury for him, yeah.
