The rain is pattering outside the window. I quickly open the umbrella and shake it dry. Then, I take out a small packet from my bag, still damp with a few drops of water.

I quietly spread out several rain-soaked flower buds and place them on the table.

MC: Recently, I've been eagerly anticipating when the flowers along the roadside will bloom...

MC: But today, on my way back, I discovered that many flower buds had been knocked down by the heavy rain.

MC: Do you think these can be preserved as specimens?

Lucien slightly raises his eyebrows, sets down the book he was reading, and then gets up to fetch a towel from the bathroom.

Lucien: Of course, it's possible. However, for long-term preservation, we need to remove excess moisture first.

Lucien: The same applies here.

With a soft towel draped over my head, he gently wipes away the raindrops that had splattered onto me.

A/n: I love lego flowers so much but its so heckin expensive in my country ugh, i changed the plot a tiny bit if u dont mind @spicydonut25

Summary: Y/n brings the perfect gift for Steven on their date.

Meeting Steven was strange, and dating him is even stranger. The British man seems to drive Y/n crazy (in the best way possible) because he doesn't fit in any male category that the internet offers.

Y/n's eyes are starting to get tired from looking at the laptop's screen, scrolling mindlessly through the lists of gifts that everyone thinks are good ideals for a man. But they're all wrong! This is not any man; this is Steven! For God's sake, he doesn't need perfume or a pair of sneakers.

Y/n cursed under her breath. She wants to get the perfect gift for Steven; the poor guy should keep a random trinket she found at his table like a lucky charm.

*ting*

The sound catches Y/n's attention. Quickly tossing the laptop aside, she reaches for the phone to see what's up.

*Hi Im just texting to make sure our date are on Friday 7pm this week yea?*

It seems to be a text from Steven himself; he always wants to double check everything and tries his best to be on time. Y/n can't help smiling while tapping the screen and typing back a reply.

*Yep, im looking forward to meet u soon <3*

Steven replied almost immediately after, but instead of making Y/n happy, it made her stomach churn with anxiety.

*Me too, got a small surprise for you*

Y/n sighed tiredly; she can't believe Steven had already gotten her a present, and here she is, on her bed, with a blank mind. Would a new jacket do the trick? or a bag? or maybe something for little Gus.

Y/n returns to scrolling on her laptop, looking at the many items that flash on the shopping website. And just when she thinks her luck has run out, she notices something. 

Lego.

Not only Lego, but Lego's flowers! The store even had the flowers that Steven gifted Y/n on their first date, the type of flowers that Steven was so determined to get that he ran to five different stores to find them and almost missed the date.

Y/n smiles to herself while thinking back on the memories. This sure would be a very thoughtful gift for Steven, and plus, his desk will look better with it as a decoration (not a random trinket).

Feeling satisfied, Y/n added the lego set to her cart and completed the payment, thinking about how happy her lover would be.

"You're early!" Y/n exclaimed when she arrived at the spot and already saw Steven sitting there, waiting for her. "Traffic is terrible; I should have left the house earlier."

"No, no, it's alright, you're right on time." Steven smiled and stood up to hug Y/n, sneaking in a quick kiss on her cheek too.

"Oh and here," Steven said, letting go of his lover and reaching into the pocket, pulling something out to show. "A present, as promised."

It was a beige box with silk ribbon wrapped around it, forming a bow. Y/n's face lit up when she eagerly took the box from Steven's hand, quickly unwrapping it. "A keychain! of my favorite animal!" Y/n said out loud before holding it near her eyes, seeing how the glitter sparkled under the street light.

Steven swears it's the most beautiful sight ever, seeing how excited Y/n is over his small gift. It's not very exaggerated to say he is a bar of ice cream and Y/n is the sun, the way he melted for her but still wants to admire her forever.

"Oh, I've got something for you too!" Y/n held up a paper bag and smiled shyly. "It arrived a bit late, so I don't have time to wrap it properly, sorry."

Steven mumbled a quick "it's okay" before saying thank you and taking the bag from Y/n's hand. The moment he looks inside to see what it is, his eyes widen with shock.

"A..No way! Is this for me, darling? Lego?! Oh, hang on now, let me take a better look...Lego's flower! Oh...wow.." Steven can't help his excitement upon seeing the gift; he had seen some kids bring some sort of blocky toy like this to the museum but never dared ask what it is.

"So this is... popular among kids, right?" He asked, fingers trading the display picture of the box.

"Hmm, I would say so, but this one is for adults; it contains a lot of pieces."

"Oh geez, I appreciate it, but why don't you just buy something cheaper? Like...real flowers? I love anything, as long as it's from you." Steven blushed while saying this and looked down at his lap; he has this bad habit of avoiding eye contact whenever he is nervous and can't seem to quit it.

But Y/n never mind; instead of getting mad, she put her hand on Steven's cheek, slowly guiding his head so that he looked at her.

"Real flowers will wither, but this one won't; it will stay forever, like my love for you."

SP Merch Review

I'm an artist, if there is anything art-related going on with SP of course I will have something to say about it.

It's long, it includes pics and it's under the cut. Enjoy.

Ok, started off with the video bc apparently I love to torture myself.

"But it occurred to me, with the amount of control I exert over all things Skulduggery I would not be entirely comfortable handing someone else that level of control, so I realized-oh- I'm going to have to do it."

^^^^That quote not only sums up why the merch looks the way it does, but this is also why there is no SP movie yet.

"Pins that I have designed, keychains that Jaime [pin maker] has designed"

That explains why the keychains are so much better than the pins

"I never liked wearing anything intented for the mass-market I always preferred the cult, which is what Skulduggery Pleasant has become."

He does sound like an entitled rich kid AND a gatekeeper at the same time here. Amazing. Also, massive cope here for SP not having become as successful as he wanted it too. And if he means cult like cult-classic than no. If he means cult like cult, then yes. Later on, he goes on about those pins and stuff being little identifiers to find each other and he makes it sound very exclusive and omg people with low self-esteem and the desire to feel like one of the special few are gonna love this.

But he is right, the SP stuff it kinda cultish. It has no more mass appeal but it has a few very dedicated fans that are gonna eat up all things SP no matter what.

Yeah, people do find each other bc of shared interests, SP ain't special in that regard. Also, suspecting that this text was probably written by Landy himself makes reading it even more of an acid trip.

Skulduggery and Valkyrie Enamle Pins

Fuck these are ugly. What's going on with Skulls mouth? He be like OMO he looks lost. Meanwhile Val has no eyebrows and forehead for days plus her outfit could do with a little more detail.

The shape of the actual pin is not only ugly AF (at least make it symmetrical or something for fucks sake) it also gotta be unpleasant to the touch with how spiky it is.

For a fix, honestly just let Jaime (pin maker) do them in the same style as the "Shadow and Bone" ones bc these are freaking gorgeous.

If you want something more in the noir-ish style of SP you could also shade the faces like in the mini artworks the old SP books used to have at the beginning of each chapter instead of leaving them completely blank. I can't find pics of that online but it was like a darkest dungeon kinda style.

Tote Bag

This one has no pic yet but it's supposed to be just covered in SP quotes. No extra points to creativity here, but I don't know what it looks like, so I have nothing much to say yet.

Midnight Hotel Keychain/Bag Charm

Once again, no points for creativity. Hotel/Motel keychains are pretty popular and Vograce even has their own category for it. But it looks pretty amazing. The pic of the hotel looks good, love the gradient on it, the font is gorgeous. I'm also really digging the silver and blue colours. The only thing that needs to go is the mini skull charm bc it's ugly as fuck.

Hibernian Cinema Keychain/Bag Charm

Oh, I really like this one! I haven't seen a lot of keychains in ticket form and I think this old school ticked design looks quite quaint. Again the pic of the cinema looks good and the font fits perfectly, the colours harmonise and are pleasant to look at.

Mini Skull Charm

I hate this. Landy drew this in 5 seconds in MS Paint, didn't he? I showed this to my mom and she insists it looks like a sad little ghost no matter how much I try to explain to her it's the top half of a skull.

That one point is just a pity point for the effort.

That skull looks like it was traced from a photo by someone who doesn't even know what the word 'line dynamic' means. The random texture on it makes it look dirty and its grin is derpy AF. The colours clash with each other, especially the yellow of the 'kind of' looks way too saturated and out of place. Visually it's just a mess. Also the colours are kinda too dark, especially the blue. The red colours need more contrast between font and book colour. Rule of thumb, if you print it tends to turn out darker than expected.

Plus the fonts(s) are weird. They don't seem to fit SP, instead they make me think of "Charlie and the Chocolate Factory"??

Not a critique point but bc Tanith likes to read it would have been cool if her sword would have been leaning against it. What also would have been cool, different book stack bookmarks for different characters. With their own quotes and colour schemes.

Here is an example of a bock-stack-quote from the LitPinsAndCo website.

The colours harmonize and the fonts are different but they all fit to each other. Simple but nice book design. It's just pleasant to look at.

I tried to do a REALLY QUICK quick fix to show you what I mean. Added detail to the skull, lightened the colours and tried to harmonize them with a gradient map set to colour with lowered opacity.

Still doesn't look great, but I refuse to spend more than 5 min on it. But you get my point, right?

Stickers and Magnet

There are no pictures for these either. I would have really hoped at least the page would actually be complete prior to launch :/ on the other hand, I don't like waiting so I actually do prefer quick over complete.

Conclusion

I'm not going to pledge to the Kickstarter personally since I don't actually want any of the items. You know me, I just want nasty boi stuff.

The only ones that turned out good were the ones designed by a professional. Since neither Landy nor Laura are artists I don't understand why they insisted on making official merchandise designs. This is just an ego trip for them again, isn't it?

You know this is the kinda shit I mean when I say Landy is the biggest weak spot of SP. His own ego keeps getting in the way. Laura is just as bad and probably enabling him. I also feel that with this he kinda wants to self-validate himself and 'prove wrong' those that kicked him out of animation school/people that said he is a bad artist.

He needs to let go of his ego and let the professionals take over when he is out of his depth.

Tbh, I thought about it but I didn't think he would be that popular. For reference, Willow and Luz designs aren't very popular either and only a couple handful of people purchased them. I'm just afraid that if I made Gus, he would fall into that category too :<

Who would you pick for a 2000’s fashion skinline?

HOOO hard question if i try to evade fave characters and also Riot beloved cashgrabs but i will be honest. Im gonna use a lot of pinterest images for this haha.

I wouldnt close it only to 2000s fashion BUT i think it could be a skinline with a lot of reference's that would make people go Oooh i catch that one!

Like for example imagine Ahri with the iconic 'A little bit dramatic' Regina George's T-Shirt with that preppy ''girly'' pop style. But i wouldnt give Ahri this kind of skin. In general id love for this skinline to actually do a 180º spin in a lot of characters or at least give them something a bit more distinctive. I feel they should feel very exaggerated in order to be iconic. Cartoony, even. For a preppy girlie pop style i'd think about Irelia, for example? We often see her in the exact same dress type in all her skins, even legendary ones...

Bratz should be a huge inspiration in this skinline, imo... I'd love to see Irelia in something like this. Hearthrob Caitlyn is something above this lines but they didnt give her something like jeans wich i think its very iconic. It would break original Irelia from the same dress-leggins thingy and her very traditional ionian clothing. Riot is always nonsensical so i wouldnt mind giving Irelia some platforms or even heels. Give her random items like those fluffly keychains in the pockets or cute patches...

I think Gwen would fit also into this girlie pop category. They already gave her this emo-goth look in Soul Fighter and Cafe cuties exploits the whole dress thing perfectly, Space Groove also does incredible in 70's-80's fashion. She lacks a skin that is colofur but just focused on a specific palette.

I believe something like this could fit her. You give her a break of the dress, but she can still look iconic! Imagine her with normals scissors hanging around with something like this! Give her a cute purse that flip flops around while she jumps and walks and its LOVELY you can even risk giving her an animal pattern...

I'd also loooooove Kalista with this type of style... Shes always gloomy and phamton-likely on her skins. She deserves a skin with this kind of aesthetic that is eye candy.

Something more 'girly' like on her would look amazing and i think giving her an alive appereance. She deserves pink and angst. Actually that one 'A little bit dramatic' shirt could be a clash between her personality and oath as a character that can be a funny joke inside the skin.

Id love to see Soraka in this type of outfit.

More earthy, green-brownish and with that type of elements cause its fitting for her character BUT would be a change in outfit cause riot almost always gives her a dress or a skirt. We stan soraka in jeans with her good ol' goat legs.

Ooooohhh i love this this is so fucking iconic... I'd love to see Tristana on this one but i know its one of my fave champs and also an often riot cashgrab so... I think this actually would be super fitting with Sivir! Or Zyra, giving her a more vibrant summer color theme...

Everytime i see Avril i SCREAM. You know what? Zoe deserves this type of skin. Not a fully black one but give her black with a very neon pink or another color. A type of 'Its not a phase mom!' skin.

YOU KNOW WHAT id love to see emo nidalee with a colorful and black transformation into feline. I think it would be nice! Also a big reference to the whole emo or scene fursona epoque. Or Orianna! Actually Orianna can also fit on the preppy girly pop. Shes amazing always.

For last picks... I have already betrayed my bow not to mention popular champions and cashgrabs. So i will break the bow all the way down. I would become CRAZY for a scene Pyke. A full black and white gloomy outfit but with rainbow elements like a lot of bracelets, charms, a rainbow belt... i would get rabies. I feel like Empyrean Pyke wasnt colorful enough, this would be completely rainbow elements that stand out from the design to remember you this dude loves bracelets.

Also a scene Vex would be AWESOME imagine her also with a lot of rainbow bracelets but very gloomy and Shadow is bursting in rainbow colors with faces like '>w<' or ':3' it would be great.

Tough life of a Kakashi goodies collector under sanctions. Part 2

Continuation of my sad (but I’m still hoping for a happy end) Kakashi goodies parcel story – Part 1 is here

I was sure that since March 2022 there were simply no options to send anything from the USA/Europe to my country apart from asking an acquaintance to bring it over. But to my great surprise, I discovered that this was not quite correct! It is possible to ship stuff from the USA, even directly to my home address! It’s just that because DHL and UPS stopped operating for inward delivery, everyone assumed that there was no postal communication whatsoever.

There was, of course, a huge list of restrictions (both in categories and in price of individual articles), but the stuff that I was after was mostly possible to deliver and did not fall under that list.

The only item of my potential interest that I could not get delivered was one of those cool resin figures (because decorative figures are sanctioned items). At the same time, small figurines and action figures passed because they were categorised as “toys”. But since I wasn’t interested in huge expensive figures (who am I kidding – I simply have nowhere to display them, ha-ha 🙈), I was totally fine and that did not affect me.

So, I found this company that served as a warehouse in the USA. What they did – they could either purchase stuff for you (for example, on eBay where I was banned – you just top up your balance, and they make the purchase) or you could buy things yourself, just put in your unique ID in that warehouse and get the items delivered there. From there, you could form one big parcel to be sent over directly to you, or have them sent separately – up to you.

I was a bit worried when I tried using this service for the first time, but it worked like a charm (if we disregard the insane shipping fees – up to 21% of the total items’ cost). But at that point I was so desperate that I no longer cared how much it cost – I just wanted to get the items.

So parcel number 1 arrived – I made a huge unboxing video, it’s on my Instagram account (with terrible sound *sigh*). 55 minutes long!! The parcel was a mix of Kakashi and non-Kakashi goodies, but the majority was Kakashi.

Then parcel number 2 reached me – Kakashi shoes and Kakashi keyboard. Also worked really well! I think both parcels arrived within 7-10 days, which is really impressive.

I was so happy that I kept ordering all Kakashi goodies I came across and fancied (I’m actually quite picky and I don’t like everything)... 

And then… it all went wrong…

So basically I had a bunch (total of 12 items) of Kakashi goodies stacking up in the warehouse. My plan was to wait until everything I ordered arrives at the warehouse (believe it or not, but the moment came when I concluded that I am done with purchases 😆), then form one parcel, and get it shipped to me. Since I was expecting items from the USA, China and Japan, it took a while.

I also had quite a few non-Kakashi items already in the warehouse, so I went ahead and finalised that parcel, leaving the Kakashi items in the warehouse, because I was an idiot wanted a pretty Kakashi-only parcel for another unboxing video (let’s talk about the harm of social media……..🙈)…

On 13 May, finally, the 2 outstanding Kakashi items arrived (2 keychains), so I finalised that parcel too and marked it ready for shipment. I remember myself looking at the ‘speed up’ service add-on (extra $5), but since the previous 2 packages I got were processed within 1-2 days, I did not really mind the slight wait. And that was where I made the mistake (again)…

A week almost passed, and my parcel was still not even packed. On 19 May, I was finally charged for delivery and my parcel was marked as waiting to be shipped. Shipment takes place on Tuesday and Thursday, so I understood that my parcel would be shipped on the nearest Tuesday which was 23 May. That was still absolutely fine...

But then overnight from 19 to 20 May the news arrived – a new list of sanctions had been released. From now on, all toys were prohibited for shipment (of course, we all know that toys are essential for terrorists *sarcasm* 🙄)… And therefore all parcels ready for shipment that contained sanctioned items were now on hold and expected to be returned to the warehouse within the coming week.

I have slight sleeping issues, so I read the news at 3 am. I did not sleep for the rest of the night. Furthermore, I’m embarrassed to say that I cried several times over the coming day (I am genuinely ashamed of myself - crying over some toys... my god... let’s just say it was because of sleep insufficiency 🙈). 

The reason I was so upset was partially due to my own stupidity because for some reason I believed that items were only allowed to be shipped to me (I was sure that I read somewhere that shipping to third persons was prohibited, perhaps I dreamt about it because I seriously don’t know how I managed to be so mislead), so if I was unable to go to a different country and accept the parcel from there, sanctioned items would either have to be returned or… which was worse – disposed (for example, if the shipping fee is not worth returning). 

As it turned out later, that was not the case, so although I was in for some new expenses, I had hope again that I would still be able to get the goodies, only longer and with additional loss of money (they are becoming golden, I estimate that their delivery would cost me half the value of these items...).

Also, it’s not going to be so pretty any more – I wanted a nice package full of ‘Kakashi only’ items. So now I’ll be sending Kakashi stuff with non-Kakashi stuff and a separate package of sanctioned stuff... not cool... 😝

But let's get back to where I was still unsure what was going to happen to this parcel... A week passed, and I was still hoping they would send my parcel. They didn’t. Finally, the parcel was once again registered within the warehouse. I got in touch with the support team, who explained that I could request to separate the package and send the non-sanctioned part of it as usual, and find another way to deliver the sanctioned part.

I made a small research and found a person in Kazakhstan who assisted with such issues – I could order the parcel to be delivered to Kazakhstan first, and then from there it would be delivered to me. Their fees are 12% of the goods price + shipping fee. 

So it made even more sense to split my parcel, because (a) that would make the fee less + cheaper delivery on both stretches, and (b) it’s an individual person, and although she has many positive reviews, I can’t fully trust her just yet, so if I am to be scammed and lose my parcel, I’d rather it be just a part of it than all of it…

So, after confirming that this girl was ready to assist, I requested the warehouse to split my parcel into 2 parts – sanctioned and not sanctioned.

And this is where mild chaos began again! 😅
