Can I ask Entrapta and Hordak for the character ask meme?
First impression: with Entrapta, she caught my eye even before the show premiered, when I saw the promo art. I fell in love with her design right away, though i didn't care much for her character at first, just didn't get the hype. It is only after she showed her vulnerable side, when she thought her friends abandoned her (but we knew it was not true!), thats when I got invested. Tuned in for the drama, stayed for the purble mad scientist
Tumblr media
Same with Hordak. Didn't care for the character, loved the design. And I loved it specifically because he looked similar to the demon characters from my original story I was working on with a friend at the time. The long pointy ears, the nose, the glowing eyes, the clawed hands and sharp teeth, they also have wings just like Imp!
Oh and I always loved his relationship with Imp, it was so fun to watch these two interact :3
Tumblr media
Impression now: to me personally Entrapta and Hordak are the real heart of the show. They are both integral to the story, they're interesting and fun in their own ways and their relationship is simply the best thing the show has to offer. Plus their personal journeys are so exquisitly tragic, love me some good angst
They're both my lil scrunklies, my beloved chew toys, one of my fave evil power couples. Though I gravitate more towards Hordak, he got that melancholic sad doe eyes rizz. And older brother issues (hes just like me fr🤝)
Favorite moment: oof but there are so many. 'Imperfection is beautiful' and 'I am Hordak' are obviously in my top 5, but I also want to mention some other ones
From entrapdak scenes - the one where they chat while sitting on Hordak's throne, the one where Hordak protects Entrapta from the portal explosion and the iconic "What have you done to me?" scene
As for their personal moments, I still giggle at Entrapta's "Do I need to explain math to you?🤨", also I can't get over her soft hum and lil smile when she remembers her lab partner in the portal reality
And with Hordak, again, love all the scenes where he's so casually adorable with Imp, also s4 moments when he's being obsessed with Entrapta (can't deside between the blushing scene and the 'crying over her' scene)
Idea for a story: For Entrapta I've been thinking about an au where she gets consumed by the Island before her friends find her, turning into this scary powerful monster who still has some of her free will. And she either escapes the island herself, becoming a threat to both the Horde and the rebellion (but eventually she and Hordak save each other with the power of love~), or she stays on BI and has this emotional fight with Adora and Bow where she gets to voice all her fears and grievances, but in the end gets defeated and comforted
For Hordak I have this idea about him meeting another clone with the same defect as him. Maybe he was just fresh out of a pod, and his condition only took a toll on him after the fall of Prime. I imagine Hordak being so gentle and protective of him, giving him all the love and understanding + recourses he was deprived of. I also imagine him finally not feeling so alinated when he's around his own kind, like a black sheep among his "perfect" able bodied brothers, because now he knows he's not the only one
Unpopular opinion: Entrapta's trauma should've been treated more seriously and not forgotten right after the Beast Island episode. S5 felt like s4 events were erased from everyone's memory. Also, it should've affected Entrapta more. Again, where are the conflicted feelings towards Hordak? It was never established that she found out the truth about her exile, that Hordak was lied to and had no idea about it. And where are the conflicted feelings towards Catra? The more I think about it, the more I hate that dumb apology and the fact that it was enough for Entrapta to forgive her, after everything Catra did to her and her loved ones
With Hordak... those are not quite common, but it is still tiring to see some fandom opinions where ppl critique this version of Hordak by calling him a loser and a lame villain/character, because he's not "badass" and "threatening" enough and is bad at his job as the leader of the Horde. Cause like... that's the point. Hordak was bad at this because he was not suited for this role, he is not a leader and thats not bad/contradicting writing, thats just his character trait. He was only trying to mimic the only role model he ever had in his life, trying to fit into Prime's shoes and obviously failing at it, because he's not Prime. He was also programmed to be an obedient slave with no wants or ambitions, not a dominant power hungry ruler, and I can only imagine what it took him to become as powerful and threatening as he is in the show. He did not belong on that throne, not because he's incompetent/useless or stupid or a bad warlord, but because choosing to become Lord Hordak, choosing to go all this way to try and prove himself worthy to his uncaring god was,on itself, his biggest mistake, not the right path for him. The Etherian Horde is like that because it's existence was a mistake
Favorite relationship: romantic? with each other. Platonic? Also with each other, but also -
For Entrapta - her friendship with Adora and Wrongie (also Scorpia, but only pre s5 Scorpia, like girl what happened...)
For Hordak - his bond with Imp and his relationship with Horde Prime (i just love how tragic and messed up it is okay?)
Favorite headcanon: idk if a have a favorite, there are all sorts of hcs, so i'll just focus on a random one I like
I do find the idea of Hordak being creeped out and lowkey haunted by Entrapta's cat painting hilarious, but I also like to think that the cat was her real pet, maybe a childhood pet even, and by keeping the painting she honors the memory of her old friend

What are some western cartoons you've enjoyed?
Amphibia
Tumblr media
A fun western take of Isekai, without the wish fulfillment escapism that plagues Isekai, which was actually criticized with the character of Marcy, with a lovable cast, great animation and a well made story with a bittersweet yet satisfying ending.
Hilda
Tumblr media
The best modern cartoon period, a cozy and sweet yet action packed and even sometimes dark adventure show about a little girl exploring her magical realism world.
Gravity Falls
Tumblr media
Not nearly as fantastic as everyone and their mom claims to be, but still a great show, with tons of good characters, excellent animation, and an overarching plot that while ultimately flawed (the second half of season 2 really dropped the ball on that one) was still great.
She-Ra
Tumblr media
Great solid show from beginning to end, but especially towards the end when the silly princess stuff finally began to be properly integrated with the actual plot. Also Catra best character don’t @ me.
Kipo
Tumblr media
The most underrated modern cartoon I’ve seen, a superb show with a great story, characters and a truly unique setting, not to mention it did the whole villain redemption thing everyone and their mom was doing at the time, but actually did it fantastically.
Invincible
Tumblr media
Like many others I was drawn in by the brutality of the first episode, and boy did it just keep getting better after it! Just skip everything with Amber in it, and you should be in for the best animated superhero show since JLU.
Arcane
Tumblr media
Love it! From beginning to end it was a wild ride of a show, and this is coming from someone that only knows about LoL through memes and porn. At times it almost felt like I was watching an extended movie.
The Amazing World of Gumball
Tumblr media
This has to be the funniest modern show there is, at least before they decided to use a ton of “funny faces”, when it went down to being among the funniest. Still, a love letter to animation, featuring just about every style of it there is, and with an extremely weird yet fun cast of characters.
Before jumping back to anime I used to watch a ton of these, so I’m sure there’s more, but these are on too of my head and from the last decade, but I can honestly tell you, that my favorite cartoon of all time is:
Courage the Cowardly Dog
Tumblr media
There’s just not a single bad episode in it, and every character has been as memorable as Courage himself.
Dishonorable mentions:
The Owl House: Amphibia but actually embracing the bad of Isekai.
Steven Universe: Started weird, got good but ultimately fell down the stairs due to its terrible obsession with finding good things about terrible people.
OK KO: Garbage character models and too obsessed with making references.
Adventure Time: Everything wrong with modern animation.
Regular Show: Modercai is a simp and just looking at the guy gives me cringe.
Bee and Puppycat: Everything wrong with AT and SU COMBINED.
Korra: Not canon

Meet Charlatan, my Double Trouble fankid! He’s trans, bisexual, and 13 years old. He’s best friends with Finn (Adora and Catra’s kid, for those who don’t know), who is 15 years old in this timeline.
He’s adopted, but used shapeshifting to resemble his moddy better. In my lore, I go with the AU where DT is the long-lost ruler of Green Glade, thus getting their power from a runestone and being able to share that power with Char. However, if that’s not your vibe, he could also probably use sorcery to shapeshift. Either way, he’s only able to shapeshift partially so far, so bits of his original form peek through (he’s based on a gila monster, hence the coloration, pattern, and thicker tail).
–More character info and another drawing under the cut–
DT found him as a baby in the Crimson Waste. His mother had just been murdered in a mugging-gone-wrong, and the baby lizard was left in her cold arms, crying and wailing. He was left there for a while before DT happened to pass by and noticed. They took pity on the poor creature (in my lore, they were in a similar situation as a baby when they got taken from Green Glade to the Crimson Waste, so the whole ordeal reminded them of themself, which compelled them to go against their instincts and do something). They tried to find some relative, someone to take care of the orphan, but no luck. Since they’d recently discovered through being Finn’s godparent that they didn’t mind kids, actually kind of liked them, and was rather good with them, they decided to raise the baby as their own, with help from Casta (yes, this is in the Castaspellma AU too–my mind works in crossovers).
Although Char lost his mother when he was a baby, he still gets anxious when alone and doesn’t like being separated from DT for too long. DT was his first source of comfort after his mother’s death, and their heartbeat became his favorite lullaby. He likes to hug them and rest his ear against their chest to listen to it and know that he’s safe when in their arms. It’s the surest way to calm him down during a panic attack. Most often, he hugs them koala-style so they can still walk around and do stuff while he clings to them.  It was a little easier when he was still a small toddler, but even though he’s getting too big at age 13, DT still holds him and lets him sit in their lap. They’re completely used to it at this point.
Char grew to be one of DT’s biggest fans and attends every play they have (so long as they’re PG-13 or under). DT tried to get him into acting, but they both learned the hard way that he gets terrible stage fright. Thankfully, his first role was as a tree, so freezing up actually helped in that case. He didn’t move, didn’t even blink, and searched the audience until he found the first familiar face. He locked eyes with Glimmer and stared at her the entire time, in desperate need of moral support. Ever since then, he only helps out behind the scenes; building sets, helping tech master Bow with the lighting, making props, and assisting Finn in watching and critiquing DT’s rehearsals to ensure they’re at their best with each performance.
Tumblr media
Speaking of Finn–I’ve seen lots of interpretations of them portraying them as DT’s protege, learning acting from DT, or otherwise being closer with DT than anyone else, so I thought, “Wouldn’t it be funny if DT’s kid was like that with She-Ra?” Everyone jokes that Finn’s and Charlatan’s personalities were swapped at birth. Whereas Finn’s quite the budding actor, Char’s been obsessed with She-Ra ever since he first learned about her. He’s been studying sword-fighting under her wing and is getting decent at it, but still has a ways to go. He even made a DIY She-Ra sword bracelet to match how Adora used to carry her sword around. He has big dreams of becoming a hero like She-Ra, and he knows all the legends and stories surrounding her. Because of this, sometimes the crew jokingly refers to him as “Flutterina.”
Everyone expected Char to turn out more like DT. Some thought he’d be an exact copy of them, and his striking resemblance to them didn’t help. Even DT expected they’d rub off on him a little more. Char chose to rebel by not rebelling. Everyone thought DT’s kid would lie, steal, cause mayhem and chaos, and get into all sorts of mischief. Therefore, Char tells the truth, gives people gifts, does favors for free, follows rules, and is a relatively quiet kid who rarely gets into trouble of his own accord, though often gets pulled along with Finn’s schemes. DT will often say things like,
DT: Okay, bedtime is 8 PM. I’m going to be out until midnight and definitely wouldn’t know if you stayed up late.
Char: Ok, 8 PM it is.
DT: I mean really, I would have no idea if you disobeyed me and, say, invited Finn over and ate junk food and broke something.
Char: Is that so?
DT:
Char: Then I might go to bed early.
DT: Listen here you little shit--
It’s not that Char has anything wrong with how his moddy acts–he loves his moddy more than anything, but he’s just not the same person as them, and he doesn’t like the pressure other people have inadvertently placed on him to act just like them. That’s why he sometimes goes out of his way to do the opposite of what they would do, and he struggles a bit to find himself. He changes his appearance here and there in an attempt to find what feels like him rather than DT. The pink hair was one such thing. Sure, he based it on Glimmer’s hair color, but it still feels like something that’s his and helps set him apart from his moddy. In adulthood, he’ll differ from them a bit more, but still resemble them enough. I don’t have a solid design yet, but I imagine he’ll let more of his gila monster traits shine through and will have built more muscle than DT has since he’s more of a fighter.
Thank you so much for reading all that! I know it was a lot. Let me know if you want to see more drawings of Char, or have me write a scene with him, or if you have any questions about him! I’m happy to talk about my OCs any day. If anyone wants to draw him, you can--just tag me!

People vs SPOP Artists
A judge looks at a file in their hands and then glances at you. The judge has resting-you're-fucked face and you already feel the tingles of doubt creeping over you. You swallow hard. Breathing is more difficult as you sit ramrod straight in the hard wooden chair. Your sitting bones and back have given up but you convince yourself that punishing yourself might earn you a lighter sentence.
The judge sighs in length. You catch a glimpse of what they're looking at. It's your art. It's Catra and the eyes are drawn Yellow|Blue instead of Blue|Yellow. You know this! But you were excited to share.
The papers land on the desk and the judge folds their hands over them. They give you a long, hard stare and you're sure they've noticed the beads of sweat accumulating over your brow and temples.
"How long have you been a fan? Hm?" They offer a flicker of a friendly smile.
You begin to speak, but you've forgotten your breath and it comes out as a muted croak. You cough for a moment and then you finally say, "D-During the pandemic. I-I lost my job a-and I know it's s-s-suppos-"
"Alright, alright," they say, "So roughly two years. Is that correct?"
You give a hard nod, "Yes."
They lean back in their chair and nod subtly into their hand. It looks like pondering, but you know they've already had a lecture prepared. "The penalty for this is severe. Loss of follows, being canceled, you'll need a new identity," they cut themselves off, "ehhh I don't agree with it, but it is the law."
You immediately feel completely fucked. Your brows furrow hard and you're ready to sob right then and there. "But, considering this is your first, well, first notable offense, I may be able to offer some leniency. But let me first ask, if Catra is facing you and you're looking at her, can you tell me what color HER right eye is?"
All you can think about is how you drew the eyes Yellow|Blue over and over in your mind. You immediately say, "Yellow." Dread washes over you, "BLUE! BLUE! HER RIGHT MY LEFT, IT'S BLUE!" You offer the most pathetic pleading eyes you can.
They put their hand up, "Order now," they say calmly and you quiet down. They say now, "I was there from the beginning, you know. I was there when it was already getting massive attention from those who said the characters didn't look like women. And this was before the show even aired! And when it finally did, you know what I did? I watched it out of spite. Quickly, I became obsessed. This show consumed me. I'd rewatch the episodes over and over on a constant loop. It might have been much, but it made me happy. Tell me, does the show make you happy?
"Very much, your honor."
They nod, "The first season," they huff a laugh, "the first season had so many animation errors. Did you know there was a scene where Adora was missing her shoe straps in Princess Prom? One of my absolute favorite episodes. I found easter eggs, flaws, I went through that episode and others, frame by frame some days. And you know what I've learned? People make mistakes. People fall down. In the case of Catra, people fall down hard," they chuckle, "Am I right?"
You force a chuckle and it's absolutely soaked with anxiety.
"Even the creators of the show had messed up Catra's eyes. Not once, but multiple occasions. It seemed whenever there was a reflection, they'd forgotten, too, which side those eyes were on. All the way until Season 5! It was brief, but it was there." They breathe a moment and begin to look at your art work again. They smile like they're admiring it. "Alright," they set the images down again, "I hereby sentence you to..."
You want to throw up. After all that, they're still sentencing you. FUCK YOU YOU OLD PIECE OF SHIT!
"...a full 5 season rewatch of She-Ra and the Princesses of Power with greater attention to Catra's features. A list of steps of how you'll be remembering to flip the canvas, and maybe accepting a commission from me if you have time. How does that sound?" They look at you with a smile.
You breathe! You breathe like you haven't in years. You nod emphatically. Relieved! Relieved it's finally over.
The judge bangs their gavel, "Court dismissed, you're free to go." They offer one last wink as they walk off the bench and exit the courtroom.

3.1 | The Price of Power
She-Ra and the Princesses of Power (2018)
🌸🌸🌸🌸
Oh my gosh, the two Horde scenes in this episode were so fun.
Entrapta is in her BEST form. She’s so focused and opinionated. She constantly flows around the room in such a cool, strange way. She’s so evil. I love her disagreement with Hordak, it’s not even that nuanced but it just felt fitting and engaging. And the way she teased Catra about saving her life? Bookend to Catra seducing her by playing with her hair?
Hordak is still evil and sexy. He’s just a perfect straightforward arch villain. The way Catra backtalks him is just perfect. She’s learned something from the Horde abuse nightmare. I love that she knows she did everything right. This episode feels really in touch with all the themes I’ve been excited about with these characters.
Scorpia… hm… She really hasn’t been landing for me that well, maybe her tone feels kind of inconsistent? She says here that Catra means everything to her, and she clearly means it, but it feels strange to me that we haven’t seen a genuine reciprocated moment of connection between them once. It’s hardly Catra’s fault this woman got obsessed with her.
Meanwhile, Shadow Weaver is just sexy and brilliant and constantly a mom. I love the way she corrects Casta’s spell. She has so much emotional power no matter the situation. Holy shit, what she said to Angella about knowing Glimmer’s screams??
Oh yeah, the good guys were in this episode too, huh?
Oh, they were actually almost all of the episode, huh?
:/
I think there was definitely a helping of last episode’s disorder, just a weird extreme silliness that undercut everything in the story.
When it was serious, things felt sort of messy and unclear. A lot of lore got shared, a lot of feelings got discussed, and I couldn’t follow the threads well enough to feel interested in most of it.
I liked when Adora called out Glimmer and Bow for thinking no other Horde member could be redeemed. I liked when she stormed right to Light Hope to demand answers.
Shadow Weaver is my favorite character. I just find myself wanting her to be victorious in any given scene. I think part of the reason is that she seems completely immune to any tone issues the writing will possess. She’s so languid and dry and laconic that she just won’t absorb any of the overly comical energy or overplayed melodrama.
Anyway. No strikes for Catra today. I wanna go easy on her since she’s about to die.
Catra’s Crimes: 25
Next time: Butch/femme dynamics…!

Character ask game: RotE and/or Shera ✨
Thank you so much for asking me!!! ✨
Realm of the Elderlings (L'Assassin Royal, for my French followers):
blorbo (favorite character, character I think about the most): The Fool (le Fou), of course!!! I think about them all the time. They're so gender. Even my friends who haven't read these books know that I love the Fool. I'm obsessed with them
scrunkly (my “baby”, character that gives me cuteness aggression, character that is So Shaped): baby Bee Farseer, she's so adorable and I want the best for her. Fitz and the Fool trilogy has been tough.
scrimblo bimblo (underrated/underappreciated fave): Lady Patience. She's awesome. Also, she's not underrated but I love Kettricken.
glup shitto (obscure fave, character that can appear in the background for 0.2 seconds and I won’t shut up about it for a week): Garetha. Also, Jofron.
poor little meow meow (“problematic”/unpopular/controversial/otherwise pathetic fave): Chade. I know he's problematic but dude is trying his best. Also the circonstances are not great. Yeah, I'm a Chade Apologist xD
horse plinko (character I would torment for fun, for whatever reason): Fitz. But tbh he's pretty much horse plinko in canon too
eeby deeby (character I would send to superhell): The Four, Illistore, Regal
She-Ra:
blorbo: Catra. I think I somehow relate? Anyway, I love her, especially in season 5. Oh and also Double Trouble
scrunkly: Entrapta!!! I love my autistic mad scientist babygirl
scrimblo bimblo: Bow. He's a great example of healthy masculinity and I feel like he's very underrated
glup shitto: Huntara. Give me the abs, give me butch lesbians
poor little meow meow: Shadow Weaver. I know she's objectively terrible but I just love this character.
horse plinko: Catra as well.
eeby deeby: Horde Prime!

We need more anti C//A who are Adora stans (like you seem to be) so that people can understand that C///A is bad for Adora. Heck C//A is bad for Catra too, but the shippers don't seem to realize it. If Catra had been able to let Adora go maybe she could have healed instead of her festering and the abuse may have ended instead of escalated.
Hello Dear, welcome on my Blog and a big thank you for your message! Firstly I wanna apologize that this response is reaching you more than three full days, almost four later. Just real life getting into the way of my online presence (at least I got my A-Levels admission!) but I assure you that replying to you was on my To Do List the entire time. And while I could've typed something quick, I thought you deserved a full length response just as much as the person before you received. That goes for anyone really to ask/write me anything in the future.
Adora is a character that has flaws, her own interests, things she struggles with/is insecure about etc. but she also still works on being better (up to Season 5). This makes her relatable, fleshed out and overall three dimensional. Overall for me that makes Adora very likeable. Which is funny because when I first watched the show I thought of her as too goofy and felt like she as a character was overall just flat. Her character design did not speak to me either, the ponytail with the weird hair poof and these pointy shoulders of her jacket just really were not my taste. Isn't it amazing how perceptions can change?
As you can guess from that description I did not always stan Adora and she's probably still not my favorite character but over the almost two years I've been in this fandom I've grown rather fond of her. Other important characters to me are Kyle (a very relatable comfort character of mine, he learned to stand up for himself and others and I support that, f*ck Season 5 for barely acknowledging his existence), Lonnie (apart from treating Kyle badly (which I really do NOT support or excuse) I really love her, man, some women just do me like that, I mean she really stood up to Catra like that), Entrapta (I'm autistic too! It's great to have some representation, seeing the ableism/treatment she experiences in the show is not so much though), Seahawk (I don't even know why, I have some issues with his behavior towards Mermista at times but overall I love this dork), Scorpia (she reminds me of myself so much and I really wanna give her hugs, I'm so glad she chose to no longer let Catra treat her like that even though I will be forever salty she just immediately forgave her), Peekablue (I can explain this even less than Seahawk, especially since it was not even really him in the end but his existence somehow helped me cope with Season 5, without him I probably would've left this fandom ... and also my favorite color is blue) and Double Trouble (now there's enough people already critcizing how they're not exactly great Non-binary representation but this dramatic lizard will forever be in my heart, that reality check they gave Catra, basically slapping her in the face with facts was satisfying as h*ck, also I like lizards overall).
Now there's plenty of characters I like, dislike (or even hate) or am simply indifferent about but after all this is not a tier list but me talking about Adora, Catra and Catradora. Adora started off as this girl that was so sure what she was doing is right but once she was taught differently she was willing to leave everything she knew (except Catra, because she valued her despite everything) behind. And not only that, she broke out of the abuse cycle that Catra tried so hard to keep upright. And that is exactly what makes Adora such a good role model. She teaches children (or people) that:
Your past doesn't define what/who you are or what/who you can become
-> Adora used to be a Horde soldier and did not know where she came from, but nonetheless she found herself a family and became a hero that saved thousands of people
You can always change your mind and start a new life if you feel disappointed in what you are doing/who you are as a person
-> Basically the exact same point, Adora started a new life as she saw what the Horde really was and changed her mind about who to fight for
You deserve love too, be it platonic or romantic (or se*ual???) (If you're aro and/or ace just ignore the part that does not work for you)
-> While Adora for various reasons thought her only use was to please others and meet their needs and expectations (mostly due to Shadow Weaver and Catra) she learned to accept that she too deserves love and validation (if the love aspect would not have been focused on it being romantic love so she could smooch Catra in the finale this would've been a billion times better because she got love from her friends that showed her her real value)
You can walk away from something/someone, that does not make you egoistic/selfish
-> Adora walked away from the Horde, after Catra stubbornly refused to come with her despite many offers (basically Catra broke the promise, not Adora) from her too and that did not make her a "traitor" or "selfish", h*ck, Adora in the end did this for a bigger purpose too, even if part of it was her not wanting to live with such wrong morals
Your opinions, feelings etc. about a person/something can change and that is perfectly fine and valid, being able to change is part of what makes someone human
-> Adora's views on many things changed throughout the show: The Horde and the Rebellion, the First Ones, Catra, being She-Ra, herself, her priorities and so on ... she actually makes use of her brain, which is why Catra saying "Don't you ge it?" or calling her an idiot and dumb never sat right with me, she's a realistic character for shifting with her thoughts, feelings etc. and sometimes just does not fully think things through
You don't have to let other people treat you like sh*t (just because they have some issues they never worked through does not give them any right to let it out on you)
-> This point is obviously centered mostly around Catra and her abusing Adora almost every chance she gets, which is why Adora standing up for herself and not letting Catra blame her for her own decisions and mistakes is so important, "You made your choice, now live with it" is one of the most powerful lines throughout all the five Seasons
Now I'm sure there is still more to Adora's character than what I just listed and unfortunately almost all the points basically got pushed aside, well, Adora as a character got pushed aside in Season 5. All her growth, the things that made me love her, see her as great role model for so many people robbed of their value for the sake of making everything revolve around Catra. That brings me to her and how you are absolutely right that Catradora is harmful to both characters. Of course Adora is affected most by it in the end but Catra too is obviously suffering under the fandoms obsession and just the overall idea of them being romantically involved.
Just like with Adora the stans make almost everything about Catra over her relationship with Adora. She too can barely exist outside of it and if she wasn't the fan favorite she'd most likely would too be mostly in Fanarts that include Adora and not just her (if you google "Catra Fanart" most content is still Catra and Catra only but here and there Catradora still peaks through). But for whatever reason the fandom still views her more as her own person as the other ones? Catrouble and Scorptra Shippers might actually still get less hate than Glimmadora Shippers (I'm not denying they don't get any, they most certaintly do) which is just plain hypocricy and favorism. Kinda like the: A woman needs to be loyal to her husband and her husband only but if the husband wants to be active with other women that is perfectly fine because "that is just how men are" or how i like to call it ... sexism. Now in this case they are both women so it's not sexism but yo do get my point.
But much more importantly, Catra has an unhealthy obsession with Adora. Signs of that are for example:
Constantly talking about Adora, even when said person is not around (to Shadow Weaver, Scorpia etc.)
Obsessing over having control over Adora like in that one Episode "Are you kidding? I finally got control over Adora, I'm not giving that up!"
Building her entire character and her actions around Adora "We need to take Adora down", "Adora left me", "I'd rather see the whole world end than see you win!", also shown in Season 5 where she states she does save Glimmer only for Adora and not for Glimmer or to do the right thing
Getting aggressive or very emotional over Adora like clawing the wall, having nightmares etc. (destructive behavior towards herself and others)
Having no or barely any characteristics outside of her relationship with Adora like, we don't know her interests or likes and dislikes outside of being evil, obsessed with Adora, being abused by Shadow Weaver ...
Trying to force Adora to meet her needs and expectations regardless of Adora's owns
Sacrificing her oppurtunity to be happy in the Crimson Waste for the sake of her Adora obsession and being better than her at all costs
So yes, you were very right with saying that not putting Catra in a relationship with Adora would've benefited both characters. Catra could've learned to exist on her own, develop interests and a life outside of Adora. Learn to accept herself and eventually come to terms with her childhood abuse. She could've been free and not "the abusive cat girl that ended up with the person she unhealthily obsessed over to the point of no return" she kinda is now. Even if we ignore the whole "dating your long term abuser" part from Adora's side and "being rewarded" for horrible behavior, Catra alone is not giving a good example to people watching. As much as I dislike Catra, disdain her even, an ending where she is dependent on Adora, unable to stand on her own two legs after she led armies in war is not what I would wish for her, even with a decent redemption arc (that she did not get).

My Top Ten Favorite Glimbow Week Fics (Not Written by Me)
It's been a month since Glimbow Week @glimbow-week-2020 and I have read every single fic for both the countdown and week itself so you don't have to! (I'm kidding, you still do have to! Go appreciate everyone's hard work!) All of the Glimbow Week fics are listed here, BTW, if you too would like to read them all!
But there are a lot of new fics and it's kind of overwhelming so I thought it might be nice to do a Top Ten of my favorite fics to give you a place to start.
And now, in no particular order...
My Top Ten Favorite Glimbow Week Fics (Not Written by Me)
(Because, uh, a lot of them were written by me.)
Come with me by caramelaire
I am obsessed with this one. OBSESSED. This is how Cara and I became friends because I read this and was just like, "Cara, Horde Bow." and she was like "Yup." and then I'd dm her again the next day like, "Horde Bowwwwwwww." He lives in my head rent free. It's just such a cool take on Bow and Glimmer's dynamic and I think about it constantly and I hope we get more someday!
two slow dancers by glimbows
This is one of my favorite Season 4 Missing Scene fics, set at Glimmer's coronation. Aunt Casta and Bow's dads are trying to play matchmaker, Sea Hawk has a near death experience, Glimmer is sad and then there is mutual pining goodness. Love this one!
Glimmerella by  brightmoonprincess
This one is cute and silly but has a lot of laugh out loud moments and I find myself thinking of it randomly even though I read it ages ago which is always the sign of something good!
Sick of Losing Soulmates by caramelaire
When the list of prompts came out I said I did not vibe with Soulmates and would skip that one for sure because it was not my thing. Then this fic came along where Adora and Catra make their friends Bow and Glimmer participate in an experiment where they have to kiss a stranger and they realize they are soulmates and I loved it!
Re-Princess Prom by StarcastNight
I loved the concept behind this one which is that there was Princess Prom do-over sometime during Season 4 and Glimmer went with a badass punk princess who seemed like her type and Bow had some FEELINGS about THAT which always makes for quality pining content
ghost of you by caramelaire
This one is angsty and painful but in a good way (though TW: for thoughts of suicide) and is Glimmer just having an absolute breakdown after Adora and Bow leave for Beast Island during Season 4
In Our Bedroom After the War by Betterzoid
This is a really sweet post war fic that actually functions as a sequel to the one listed above it (there's also really nice art for it) of Glimmer and Bow coming back after the fall of Horde Prime and dealing with the past and future.
perhaps we were friends first  by  unbelievably62
This is a catch all collection for all of  unbelievably62's Glimbow Week fics and I really liked two of them especially, Princess Prom (A future Princess Prom and Glimmer is being jealous again... but this time in a sexy way?) and Family Reactions (Aunt Casta is the OG Glimbow shipper and is awkward about it).
Invisible Wall by EleenaDume
This is a sweet but sad missing scene fic set after Boys Night Out where Glimmer and Bow's relationship is a mess.
Glimbowweek Fall 2020 by HaroThar
This is also a catch-all of all of HaroThar's fics and I particularly loved the Horde Glimmer one because it had the new (to me anyway) twist of the Horde having landed in Bright Moon from the start instead of Scorpia's kingdom and I like the ways that changes the dynamic between the characters and also the Fright Zone itself.
---
I’m not sure of everyone’s Tumblr handles but the ones I know for sure are @caramelaire  @gllimbow @brightmoonprincess @i-just-love-spop @haro-ra @notlighthope @klingonne
---
So the part that stinks about doing a top ten list is that there are SO MANY amazing writers that participated in this week and I know I didn't list everyone so I have to offer the following disclaimer that this is just one Tippen's opinion from the running list I kept of my favorites as I was reading through the collection. In general, we share a lot of posts on this website about how we should be giving fic writers more exposure and reblogs but I think one of the absolute best things you can do for a fic writer you enjoy is just recommend their stuff on your own blogs and social media sites and so that's why I wanted to make sure I highlighted my favorites from this collection.
There was also a TON of really great art but I can't think of how to showcase that so you'll just have to go check it out on the Glimbow Week page.
A big thank you again to everyone who participated! I got so spoiled in September with all the new Glimbow content and now I miss it!

list 10 different female faves from 10 different fandoms
I was tagged by @lightdescending thank you so much!! i loved reading about your faves <3 so it’s time to pour my heart out for my favorite fictional ladies in the world
1. Elena Alvarez - One Day at a time
Elena is for sure the most relatable character to me! I freak out for days after finding out about her. She’s latina, a lesbian, a feminist, a nerd, so close to her family, dramatic and grumpy, hilarious, and I just love her so much!!! All my favorite odaat episodes are focused on her, I think. The quinces episode still makes me cry like a baby. I relate so much to everything about her, the way she navigates her sexuality, her relationship with her very latina family. and I’m forever bitter the show was cancelled...
2. Dani Clayton - The Haunting of Bly Manor
*terrible british accent* I’ve fallen quite in love with London. And since then she’s lived rent free in my heart!!! I’m obsessed with absolute everything about Dani (and Jamie but I had to pick one). She’s in a constant state of anxiety and still she’s so incredibly brave again and again. She’s impressive, and adorable, and the cutest ghost you’ve ever seen
3. Theo - The Haunting of Hill House
okay this one’s though. because I’m thinking about the book, the old movie, and the Netflix show. In the book I love Nell and her gay awakening more than anything else in the world. But if I include the movie and the show, Nell is just a bit too tragic and a little less gay. So I pick Theo, who brings me so much comfort. She’s fascinating, iconic horror lesbian, and always so much fun? I love her so much
4. Andromache the Scythian - The Old Guard
Do you ever hear Charlize Theron say “I’ve been here before...” and think yep I’m going to devote my life to this character?? Well, I did. Andy is the most, the most, the most incredible character. And criminally underrated and treated not very well by her own fandom but anyway... She’s the oldest person in the world, so old you can’t barely think about it, and still she has a heart so big she can find all of humanity in it!!
now we leave behind characters that changed my soul and move to character that I just love because it’s fun and I’m a lesbian!
5. Tammy - Ocean’s 8
Sarah Paulson!!! She’s Debbie’s ex. She’s cute. She’s hilarious. I love her. “As you know, they’ve never lost a pope.” “The Met Gayla” “Ebay” “You’re becoming a criminal because you’re lonely?” That’s an icon.
6. Helena Bertinelli - Birds of Prey
No I have never read the comics or anything, I just watched the Birds of Prey movie and Mary Elizabeth Winstead is so tall and I’m weak, okay? I have a weakness for tall, socially awkward, deadly, grumpy, unexpectedly funny, undeniably lesbian characters. And Helena fits every mark!
7. Fran - I Care a Lot
Probably not one of my favorite characters ever but definitely one of my favorite characters right now!! Yes, it has a lot to do with Eiza Gonzalez in general and her incredibly chemistry with Rosamund Pike. The crime wives. I love them. I specially love Fran for being so unapologetically in love with a very terrible woman <3
8. Heloise - Portrait of a Lady on Fire
I just love her a lot. Her entire story. Adele Haenel. Her relationship with Marianne. The way she did everything she could to make all the few decisions she was allowed, and just went for what she wanted when she could. She’s fascinating.
9. Grace - Terminator Dark Fate
Okay, yes, technically I only watched the movie veryy recently but... Mackenzie Davis’ arms... incredibly expressive blue eyes, and devotion, and strength, and humor, and absolutely everything about her!!!! Technically I could pick Dani but there’s already a gay Dani on the list, and also another tiny gay latina, but I have a lot of love to give.
10. Therese - Carol/The Price of salt
this was so difficult to choose!!! (shout out to Carmilla and Catra because I almost picked them) but look, watching Carol was lifechanging. and The Price of Salt is incredible and I love Therese from the book soo much more. Not my fault. She’s overdramatic and gay and she brings me comfort!!!
I’m tagging: @lilolilyr @diving-llama @alessandramortt @waxwingsfail @alloutofgoddesses @cryhardanddanceharder @lgeelove

Going in blind: Watching season 3 for the first time. Random thoughts.
Tumblr media
Episode 1: I know in the original series She-Ra was the sister of He-Man so I'm curious how much of that will be carried over to this series. Not saying He-Man has to make an appearance, same as how Batman didn't need to show up in Teen Titans. That was Robin's story, not his, and similarly this is Adora's story, not Adam's. Regardless, it makes sense why Hordak was so annoyed with the baby Adora in Shadow Weaver's flashbacks. To SW, there was something different and special about the baby, but to Hordak, whom seems familiar with the world before Mara separated Etheria from the rest of the universe, including Eternia potentially, Adora is just another "First One" child like he's seen many times before. Special in comparison to those who only know Etheria.
Great clap-back from Catra to Hordak, and not entirely unfounded. It's debatable how much he actually cares about conquering Etheria. He has others leading his forces in his war yet all his focus is on his portal creation.
According to Entrapta, productivity of the Horde is up 400% ever since Catra became Hordak's 2nd in command. I wondering how much of that is Catra's direct doing? Is she genuinely just that good of a commander? Is it because she's properly delegating and Scorpia has been handling most of the load? Or is this just because it's in comparison to Shadow Weaver? Entrapta said Catra's focus on First Ones' tech has been greatly aiding them and SW definitely focused more on magic, which was an aid mostly to herself since everyone else in the Horde seems to fight only with weapons and technology. And most of what she saw of SW while she was Hordak's 2nd was her being obsessed with bringing back Adora rather than fighting the war.
Episode 2: Let's see... Hordak's easily an adult and Entrapta is...[checks google] late twenties, early thirties. Oh good, then let's sail this ship!
But yeah, that was a heck of a backstory for Hordak. This reminds me of a video by a Youtuber named Savage Books comparing the villain Steppenwolf in the theatrical and Snyder Cut versions of Justice League and how, while he still wasn't a great villain, just a small addition made him a much better villain, that being a failure in his past and the desire just to go home. And in this case, Hordak is the much better, or at least way more developed, version of that. One of many clones of Hordak Prime but having a defect that labelled him a failure and had him cast out to Etheria, a "backwards world" as he's called it before. If he can conquer Etheria, perhaps by building a portal that'll bring forward Prime's army, he believes that'll prove to Prime that he is not a failure and that he can return home to rejoin his forces. Just this bit of backstory adds SO MUCH to Hordak, including new insights on his past interactions, and keeps him from being a flat character like theatrical version Steppenwolf. His lack of tolerance for failure makes sense when he himself is trying to prove that he's not. It gives him compelling motivation to want to conquer Etheria beyond just power and greed. Not motivation you're meant to agree with but one you can still understand.
I like the story with Huntara too. It's a nice little tie-in to something Adora was talking about with Glimmer and Bow last episode. Adora defected from the horde, not because she was different but rather very much in spite being very much like every other soldier there. She wanted to believe Shadow Weaver may have at least some goodness in her too and now we have Huntara as a fellow defector who realized the evils of the Horde, even if she chose to stay out of the war entirely after.
Episode 3: I legit thought Catra stabbed the goat lady for a second.
After Scorpia asking her why don't they just stay in the wastes I'm seeing a bit of a parallel between Catra and Hordak. They've both found a place where they can be the top dog, where they can do and have basically anything they want; her with the wastes and him with the Horde. They can be happy. ...But there's still this pull they're feeling to somewhere else. Catra back to the Horde and Hordak back to Prime. Because they feel they have to prove something; prove that they're not failures. They could be happy but they can't let go.
And that scene between Adora and Catra at the end. That was such a great line read from Catra's actor. "She left me for you. Everything that's happened is because of you." I got chills.
Minor note: While I'm only judging off the Mara hologram, which didn't have color, I do think the She-Ra outfit looks better with pants than shorts like Adora's She-Ra form. I think it makes it look sleeker, if that makes any sense.
Episode 4: Catra's spiral has turned into a drill and its taking her down as far as she can go. Though something I had to a laugh a little at myself over was that my biggest "Catra, no!" reaction wasn't to her wanting to open the portal but rather when she lied to Hordak and said Entrapta let the princesses in. She was actually a positive influence on Hordak's life and Catra with one move just destroyed that relationship and all progress Hordak had been making.
I'm guessing there's going to be some kind of long-term effect from Shadow Weaver continuously siphoning off Glimmer's magic. The woman is basically a parasite and the magic she uses is very different from the kind Glimmer does. I can't believe it never occurred to me that since Shadow Weaver trained Glimmer's father there might be a connection there between the two of them later in the story. While we don't know about anything that might've happened after she left, SW clearly had enough affection for Micah still to not kill him. I could see her trying to take Glimmer on as a student later like she did him.
Episode 5: There is something kind of hilarious about it being Scorpia's jealousy of Catra and Adora's closeness that causes her to be the first one after Adora to pick up that something is off.
11 is my favorite of the Doctor Who Doctors so naturally I'm comparing all this to the crack in Amy Pond's bedroom wall. Whatever goes in gets forgotten about and basically never existed. Though does that mean Bright Moon isn't going to remember the Horde? Basically that entire place got sucked up in the collapsing reality. There shouldn't be at war anymore because their enemy literally no longer exists.
Adora and Catra had their own little Star Trek 3 moment there.
Adora: "If we don't help each other, we'll die here!"
Catra: "Perfect! Then that's the way it shall be!"
Catra's just so far down her spiral she doesn't even care about getting her own win, just so long as Adora doesn't get one, despite just minutes ago clearly loving having Adora back in her life and on her side, to the point was trying to resist remembering the old reality. Her "perfect" world was them together again but when given the chance (another of many. I love those cuts to their past woven in there) she slapped the hand away.
I'm sure I'm wrong but I'm starting to theorize Madam Razz is actually Mara and just at some point went kind of crazy and started thinking as and Mara were two different people.
Episode 6:
"You are everything I ever wanted in a son. This... This is everything I ever wanted in a life. ...But I've got responsibilities, Van. And...I have to...go now."
-Superman, Justice League Unlimited: For the Man Who Has Everything
That was my favorite episode of JLU, where Superman is trapped in this world that isn't real but still perfect in every way, and the only way out was to give up everything he'd ever wanted, including a son he remembers watching grow up, even if it never really happened. With a similar premise, this definitely helped elevate Angela up a bit for me, whom I was kind just meh with before. I didn't dislike her but I didn't really care much for her either. This episode gave her a lot to work with though, with the heavy sacrifice she made. Not just saying behind to pull out the sword but just simply forcing herself to accept her husband is gone and not coming back. I was right that they wouldn't remember the Horde, but I definitely didn't think of the full effects of them never existing. They never exist, Bow never becomes a rebel instead of a scholar like his dads wanted. They don't exist, Micah never dies in battle against them. Glimmer gets to grow up with her father in her life. Everyone, most especially Angela, has to reject everything they would love to be real in favor of what actually is.
I'm guessing we're going to have Shadow Weaver taking advantage of this situation, trying to act like a teacher and mother-figure to Glimmer now that she's basically a orphan.
I talked before about how Catra and Hordak seem to have a parallel between them, especially regarding failure. Catra seems like she has a very hard time accepting her own failures and mistakes and thus why she more or less uses Adora as a mental scapegoat for all of it. Nothing is ever really her fault, it's Adora's, or Shadow Weaver's, or Hordak's. It makes for a great moment when Adora finally punches back, both literally and figuratively. She's not going to accept responsibility for Catra's actions anymore. She gave Catra every chance to make the right choice and she didn't, so now she has to finally live with the consequences. Heck of a glare She-Ra gave Catra at the end. Very much a "If I ever see you again..." and it certainly scared Catra, at least for a moment.
Now, someone go save Entrapta from Beast Island!
Season 3 verdict: Easily the best season thus far. I know this was technically the second half of season 2 but even in comparison to the full season 1 there was just so much that happened in this, so much that got revealed, and so, so many moments of emotion or tension. Weirdly I feel kind of disappointed that Hordak Prime is probably going to come in now and be the new big villain. I really like our Hordak's motivation and Prime seems like he might just be the generic conqueror for power that Hordak seemed like he was going to be at first. Not saying those types can't work. I love All For One from My Hero Academia and Frieza from Dragon Ball. Those guys are pure evil and selfishness, but they also have a captivating presence/charisma to them.
Naturally, since I bring her up the most out of all the characters, I'm very curious to see what happens with Catra now. She's basically nuked every positive relationship she had with anyone. Entrapta's gone, she threatened Scorpia, Hordak's not going to trust anyone including her anymore now that he thinks Entrapta's betrayed him, and Adora firmly sees her as an enemy. She has no one (those under her direct command don't count) and it's entirely her own fault.

for ship ask game: (i didnt check if u already answered any of these so feel free to skip haha if there r repeats)
johnlock, ineffable husbands, uhhh iirc pfp from she-ra?? idk any of those characters names so whoever u ship ur pfp with if u have any, go for it lmao
Aha jokes on you for letting me ramble (I'm sorry)
Anyways I put a cut because it got a little long and I don’t want to ruin everyone’s dash
Aaaa yes yayy these are all my favorites thank youu
Johnlock: ship it
1. What made you ship it?
I actually have a story for this lol. So I have this friend who was super obsessed with Sherlock and she sat me down for the first 2 eps and kept going “see??? Aren’t they so in love???” But I was in the midst of my own sexuality crisis and had a ton of internalized homophobia so I just kinda awkwardly went “hehe I guess yeah” and also very confused because Sherlock is a very confusing show on first watch and just trying to figure out what was happening lmao. BUT as I kept watching on my own I really couldn’t deny their relationship and I specifically remember going “yep. They’re gay.” In the pool scene of TGG.
2. What are your favorite things about the ship?
Ahhhh okay so I love love love how they’re such a light in each other’s life and keep each other going and found each other at such a great point in their lives, when they were both so alone, and how badly they need each other-
Also the fact that they’re flatmates is so cute and domestic fjdjjsjdjf
3. Is there an unpopular opinion you have about your ship?
Mary!! Is!! Awesome!!
Look I ship Johnlock as much as anyone else but please Mary is a great character. Why do we have to take the one strong female character (Molly and Irene are also great and could’ve been incredible if Mofftiss had done them right but that’s another story-) and decide she sucks :(
Ineffable Husbands: Ship it
I answered this one here :)
Catradora: Ship it
1. What made you ship it?
They're so flirtatious oh my god. Like all they know how to do is be angsty or be flirty with each other. Often both at the same time. Catra and Adora's first scene together is just,,, the homoerotic tension They're just so cute together and I desperately needed some wlw content in my life, it gave me no choice
2. What are your favorite things about the ship?
CHILDHOOD FRIENDS TO ENEMIES TO LOVERS CAN IT BE MORE PERFECT
Also this ship and this show as a whole is just so healing and so important. It's a canon wlw ship that such beautifully shows the progression from two very close friends who grew up together and were always there for each other, through all the abuse they endured as kids, to two very hurt and confused teenagers having their lives flipped around, Adora recognizing how she and Catra have been on the wrong side and being able to go join the rebellion, but Catra not being ready to accept that yet and seeing this as Adora leaving her, to two sworn enemies who never kill each other when they have the chance, no matter how much they say they want to, both of them fighting with so much internally, though Catra being so much more alone. Then finally them finding each other again, and healing and dealing with all of their trauma together.
The character development and the development of their relationship is just *chefs kiss*
also like who wouldn't like an angsty sad cat lesbian and a female-himbo ex gifted kid sword lesbian like
3. Is there an unpopular opinion you have about your ship?
Oooh idk. Maybe Adora and Glimmer interacted romantically and probably had crushes on each other at some point? I don't ship them, I just think something definitely happened between them and idk how common that view is. I know there is a reasonably sized Glimadora fandom, but idk if a lot of Catradora shippers also think there was something with Glimmer and Adora.

top 5/10 favorite tropes in media and/or fanfiction lay ‘em on me sarah
ceecee i hope u know what u have done. u have given me permission to go absolutely feral on main and i for one thank you
tbh tropes is kind of a broad term so i feel like this list is going to be all over the place lol but here we go:
Childhood friends to lovers and any variation thereof [or as I like to call it: a classic. e.g - Steve Rogers/Bucky Barnes from Captain America because i’m a basic bitch]
Friends to enemies to lovers i.e the above but with fifty times more angst and pining [only if it’s wlw though. e.g - Catra/Adora from She-Ra]
Guard/royalty relationship dynamic or any parallel [it’s about the ENDLESS DEVOTION. e.g - Sabran/Ead from The Priory of the Orange Tree except even better because Sabran doesn’t even KNOW Ead is protecting her]
Found family [i’m queer idk what to tell you. e.g - many many things but the one i’m thinking of off the top of my head rn is the Evangelista house in Pose FX]
An ensemble cast of very talented individuals pull off a heist i.e competency porn [e.g - ocean’s 8]
The homoeroticism of sport [DO NOT @ ME stories about team sports are GOOD ACTUALLY you have the friendship and the team work and the feel-good morals and the not-humanly-possible feats of athleticism that make you scream WHAT MORE COULD YOU WANT. e.g - haikyuu, i would also like to plug this webcomic i’ve been obsessing over the last few weeks called Midnight Furies which is like the webcomic version of sports manga but has canonical lesbians in it]
Cross-country roadtrip except it’s an allegory for coming of age and self-discovery [e.g - i’m going to say On A Sunbeam by Tillie Walden counts because they’re basically having a roadtrip but in space]
Idk if this is a trope really but specifically when kid’s stories really delve deep into the trauma and fucked up things that their kid characters go through that is the good shit [e.g - steven universe future]
also don’t know if this is really a “trope” but period romances that specifically focus on the disparity between your Public Self and your Private Self, the self behind closed doors as it were [something about the metaphor for emotional repression, the conflict b/w propriety versus the true self, the intimacy to be found in letting someone through the closed door, etc. etc. e.g - the seven husbands of evelyn hugo]
Water As A Metaphor for Rebirth [I’M A LIT MAJOR OKAY WHAT DO YOU WANT FROM ME. e.g - literally every gay movie ever]
Ask me my top 5/10 anything!
