After months of work, I’m finally starting to publish my Cats fanfic? Chapters 1-4 are out now, with the rest coming in the next week or so. As this is the first creative writing project I have seen all the way through, I’m open to feedback on how to improve my writing.

Practical Quaxo - How did Mr. Mistoffelees become a magical cat? Why does he seemingly have two names? Why does he love Bustopher Jones so much? Who are his parents? What is his relationship with the Rum Tum Tugger? And how does Victoria fit into all of this? All these questions and more will be addressed in this prequel novella to the musical Cats! Note: I'm mostly going off of the 1998 film, but will also include elements from the Broadway revival and Jacob Brent's commentary. If something doesn't make sense (for example, how anthropomorphic the cats are in any given scene) then just default to the 1998 version.

Identifying Cats actors in a given picture/clip really does combine my love of extremely specific and granular research (comparing how that actor does their makeup compared to other actors in that run) with my absolute stubbornness to credit the right person on a fucking tumblr post lol

Calling characters Name Fandom is the best thing ever and we should always do it. Munkustrap Catsmusical. Taako Adventurezone. Clara Pathologic.

Doesn’t matter if they have a canon last name or not. It’s like a patronymic, it’s a last name for certain situations (ie talking about your blorbos with mutuals who don’t know said fandom) This is efficiency of language and it’s perfect, no notes.
