Now that season 19 has been announced, i genuinely think that they won’t stop pumping out seasons until Yannick Bisson dies on the writing room floor or something. But also how on earth are they still coming up with ways to murder people???

I know that this fandom might be dying, but I just watched Sir. Sir? Sir!!! For the first time, and, aside from the fact that it is a cinematic masterpiece, there is something endlessly funny to me about the plants, every time somebody would walk by and just eat some plant was strangely hilarious to me.

It's official: the Canada-France co-production Lana Longbeard makes its formal debut in Canada on CBC Gem with 13 episodes on the service so far!
(I also like what they did with the promo image 😅)

I'm watching North of North and if you have cbc gem or Netflix i highly recommend. It's hilarious, and heartfelt, and very easy to watch, the locations are beautiful and the actors are super lovely. there's not one but two quirky gay best friends. it's really fun, but still hits you in the emotions routinely.
i will say, the tone is funny and mostly lighthearted but i'll give a quick warning for emotional abuse, references to substance-use disorders, and, (unfortunately unsurprisingly) racial microagressions here and there against some of the main cast.

I was asked today about Sisi (2021)'s second season being available in English in the US. So I googled and I couldn't find anything about PBS but I stumbled across the Canadian streaming services that carries the series: CBC Gem. Since I am in Germany, I can't access their offerings. If someone knows if they include English subtitles, it would be great if you let me (and all my followers) know.

100%. There's a very obvious reason PP banned media from following him around on his campaign tour and why he wanted to defund the CBC. The CBC is one of the last truly independent media outlets we have - much of our smaller/local newspapers and news outlets were bought up by Postmedia and now spin everything through a right-wing lens.
It's time for the government to crack down on this hostile takeover of our news before we fall victim to the same trap the USanians did. I'm so glad Carney committed to MORE funding for the CBC, we need it now more than ever.
I think that Canada needs to have a serious reckoning with the fact that Postmedia, which owns is about 60% of our newspapers, is a far-right American Trumpist hedgefund that's actively trying to subvert the country through organs like the Calgary Herald.

For some "mysterious" reason, Facebook auto-deleted my post where I literally was just sharing the link to where The Still Standing episode about Kimberley, BC appears to already be available to stream for FREE — but I guess the Meta algorithms even consider CBC stand-up shows about small towns to be a form of "restricted news", which seems totally normal & cool — so I will instead just share the link over here on Tumblr instead.
