Character Intro: Hygieia (Kingdom of Ichor)
Nicknames- The Clean Queen by Aphrodite
Mrs. Clean by the people of Olympius
Neat Freak by Apollo
Age- 20 (immortal)
Location- Skyline district, New Olympus
Personality- Hygieia is very type-A and analytical. She takes the importance of health, cleanliness, and hygiene very seriously. She does have a tendency toward germaphobia and hypochondria which varies in intensity. She rarely eats junk food, opting for a clean, plant based diet. On a troubling note, she's more sensitive and susceptible to restrictive eating disorders and OCD. She's never been in a relationship.
Hygieia lives in a large Cape Cod style mansion in the Skyline district in New Olympus. She doesn't have any pets. She believes the low-maintenance ones, even goldfish, will lead to a huge mess for her to clean. Coming from a godly medical dynasty is a bit overwhelming, to say the least. The inside has the asethetic of a bathhouse/day spa with white being a MAJOR color. When she entertains guests, they are required to remove their shoes and place them in vacuum sealed bags as well as placing a coaster under their drinks. In her house, Hygieia has a basement gym that includes an Olympic sized swimming pool. When she showers or bathes, she does so with antibacterial treated water and a special deep cleansing soap (from her own brand). In her backyard, there's a massive garden where she grows her own produce and medicinal herbs. In her fridge, the food is meticulously organized and labeled. Hygieia's natural scent is that of hand sanitizer.
She doesn't have a super close relationship with her family, as things have been super tense between them all recently- especially with her father Asclepieus (god of medicine). Hygieia does like to hang out with her younger brother Telesphorus (Rusty) (god of rehabilitation). She's not as close with her baby sister Aceso (goddess of healing), since she was already mature & living on her own when she was born. Hygieia still enjoys the presence of her mom Epione (goddess of soothing pain). She's kind of envious of her younger sister Panacea (goddess of universal remedy). The last time Hygieia remembers being around her eldest sister Iaso (goddess of cures & remedies) was at her wedding.
As the goddess of hygiene & cleanliness, one of her many abilities includes having supersonic eyesight- being able to see germs (and can destroy them with concentrated lasers from her eyes). She can also know a person's entire medical history by looking at them. As a defensive attack (or if she's experiencing intense emotions like anger) she can radiate the strong smell of bleach from her body. She also has the ability of cleaning inducement.
Hygieia keeps her long pale brown hair straight. She maintains the upkeep by trimming it herself. From her own brand Hairology, Hygieia uses the 2-in-1 coconut & vanilla shampoo-conditioner. She also likes using the Glory's Crown green tea nourishing hair mask.
Her go-to drink is a protein based chai & almond milk smoothie- which she makes herself. She also likes ionized water, orange juice, and lemon‐lime sparkling water. Her usual from The Roasted Bean is a medium iced green tea.
Hygieia loves snacking on sea salt covered pretzels & celery sticks.
There's always hand sanitizer as well as antibacterial sprays and wipes in her purse.
Hygieia considers heels over the height of 2 inches to be impractical, so her go-to footwear are flats!
A typical breakfast for her is an egg white frittatta along with a couple of slices of avocado toast. Hygieia also likes carrot cake waffles (topped with maple syrup & cream cheese), plain oatmeal, or a bowl of Earthly Harvest multibran flakes topped with blueberries (with cold oatmilk).
Her favorite frozen treats are the vanilla oatmilk ice cream sandwiches she buys from the supermarket as well as her mom's white grapefruit sorbet.
In the pantheon, she's good friends with Eupraxia (goddess of well-being & success), Chione (goddess of snow), Pasithea (goddess of hallucinations & relaxations), Aether (god of the upper atmosphere, celestial bodies, & heavenly light), Dike (goddess of justice), Ekecheiria (goddess of truce & armistice), Arete (goddess of virtue, valor, & excellence), Homonoia (goddess of concord), Hemera (goddess of the day), Eos (Titaness of dawn), and Athena (goddess of wisdom). Hygieia can't stand Apollo (god of the sun, music, poetry, healing, medicine, archery, plague, light, & knowledge). One of her best friends is Paregoros (goddess of soothing words). Hygieia is surprisingly good friends with Diochetévo (goddess of sewers, garbage, & waste). Her official mentor was her aunt Aegle (goddess of good health).
She's possibly the only minor deity with the highest net worth, to the same standing as major deities like Zeus (god of the sky, thunder, & lightning) and Aphrodite (goddess of love & beauty).
Hygieia's favorite dessert are the white chocolate chip matcha cookies her mom makes.
A popular product from her brand has been the rechargable smart toothbrush made from titanium, coming with a nearly 3,000 drachma price tag!
Hygieia owns a plethora of businesses in Olympius including her own chain of urgent care facilities, a line of mineral water (Pure H2O), specialty medical offices (dentistry, dietician, etc..), yoga studios (Center on Air), laundromats (The Clean Spin), gyms (CleanTheory Fitness), bathhouses, spas (The Vitality Lounge), and community health centers. She also has a line of lip balm (LipCalm), a skincare brand (EverPure), a haircare brand (Hairology), artisanal bath and cleaning products (Pure Clean Co.)- that contains no dyes, perfumes or harsh chemicals, a brand of feminine hygiene products called Clearial- that includes tampons, pads, shaving razors, menstrual underwear, shaving cream, intimate washes, & even non biodegradable menstrual cups made from recycled materials, a brand of oral care products called Sparkling Smiles- which includes toothpaste, mouth wash, floss, & tooth whitening products, and even a chain of restaurants called Clean Plate that specializes in clean eating. She also has a wellness magazine called Vital Essence
Hygieia's also in talks of having her own glamour doll!
Her favorite meal is a garden pesto cauliflower pizza and a white bean and veggie salad, finishing it off with a glass of white wine.
When at home, she always brushes her teeth after she eats, even if it's a snack. If she's out, Hygieia will floss.
In her free time, Hygieia enjoys meal prepping, writing in her journal, bike riding, sunbathing (with sunscreen protection of course), reading, yoga, tennis, and swimming. For extra fun, once a week, she deep cleans her place.
She once paid a random centaur to buy a box of honey glazed donuts from Hollyhock's Bakery, which she devoured in five minutes.
One time when Hygieia was sleeping over at Eos' place, she accidentally walked in on her and Ares having sex on the dining room table. She scrubbed the table for an hour.

Exploring Celery: A Culinary Marvel with Surprising Health Benefits
Celery, often regarded as a humble vegetable, has been finding its way into the spotlight not just as a crunchy snack but also as a culinary marvel packed with numerous health benefits. Beyond its traditional role as a garnish or a vessel for peanut butter, celery has been making waves in the culinary world for its versatility and nutritional value.
Culinary Marvel:
Celery's mild flavor and satisfying crunch make it a versatile ingredient in various cuisines worldwide. From salads and stir-fries to soups and stews, celery adds a refreshing taste and texture to dishes. Its high water content also makes it a favorite in juicing and smoothie recipes, contributing a refreshing and hydrating element.
One of the most intriguing culinary uses of celery is its incorporation into specialty dishes, such as celery root puree or celery sorbet, where its unique flavor profile shines. Additionally, celery leaves can be utilized as an herb to add a subtle, herbaceous note to dishes, reducing waste and maximizing flavor.
Surprising Health Benefits:
While celery's crisp texture and subtle taste are reasons enough to include it in your diet, its health benefits make it even more appealing. Here are some surprising health benefits of celery:
Nutrient-Rich: Despite its low calorie count, celery is rich in essential nutrients like vitamins A, K, and C, as well as minerals like potassium and folate. These nutrients support overall health and well-being, contributing to functions such as immune support, bone health, and cardiovascular health.
Antioxidant Properties: Celery contains antioxidants such as flavonoids, beta carotene, and vitamin C, which help neutralize free radicals in the body, reducing oxidative stress and lowering the risk of chronic diseases like cancer and heart disease.
Anti-Inflammatory Effects: Certain compounds in celery, including apigenin and luteolin, exhibit anti-inflammatory properties, which may help reduce inflammation in the body, alleviating symptoms of inflammatory conditions like arthritis and promoting overall health.
Digestive Health: Celery is a good source of dietary fiber, which supports digestive health by promoting regularity and preventing constipation. Additionally, the high water content of celery helps keep the digestive system hydrated and aids in the smooth passage of food through the digestive tract.
Hydration: With its high water content (around 95%), celery is a hydrating food choice, helping maintain optimal hydration levels in the body. Proper hydration is essential for various bodily functions, including temperature regulation, nutrient transportation, and waste removal.
Incorporating Celery into Your Diet:
Whether you enjoy celery raw, cooked, or juiced, there are numerous ways to incorporate this versatile vegetable into your diet:
Snack on celery sticks: Enjoy celery sticks with hummus, peanut butter, or your favorite dip for a satisfying and nutritious snack.
Add to salads and stir-fries: Chop celery and add it to salads, stir-fries, or grain bowls for an extra crunch and burst of flavor.
Blend into smoothies: Include celery in your favorite smoothie recipes for a refreshing and hydrating boost.
Use in soups and stews: Enhance the flavor and nutritional value of soups and stews by adding chopped celery to the mix.
Juice it: Blend celery with other fruits and vegetables to create refreshing and nutrient-packed juices.

Five Easy and Healthy Recipes In the Japanese Cuisine
Japanese delicacies is vastly different in Japan through what you could see in America. In the U. T. it has been westernized and that can be unhealthy for you. Receiving back to the fundamentals of proper delicacies for the lifestyle, here are several recipes that will introduce you to be able to Japanese cooking in a healthy approach.
The main staples of a Japanese diet are grain, fish, vegetables, coconut, fruit, noodles and the famous environmentally friendly tea. That gives a person plenty to choose from when that comes to setting up your meals. Many recipes can be adapted to be able to preferences. For example, if you do not like radishes, substitute shiitake mushrooms or even bamboo shoots.
Formula 1 - Miso soup
This soups is a fundamental staple of the diet. It really is manufactured with soy insert that has already been fermented. The coconut paste is merged in a broth called dashi. It is usually made from several fish or kelp. You could probably purchase dashi stock together with the miso at any Hard anodized cookware market. Create it in the home and add more other vegetables that you like to adjust the taste. Soups are eaten in all three dishes. The soy supplies protein with hardly any fat.
Recipe 2 - Beef in addition to broccoli
This will be not the sort of which you are applied to seeing throughout America. The gound beef is lean and even cut into skinny strips. Using a new sharp knife and a frozen item of meat permits you to cut as slender as you need and remove all of surplus fat. The various meats is cooked along with very little oil. The broccoli is steamed. The beef will be laid over the rice in order that it may soak up the particular juices.
Recipe 3 or more - Vegetable saut (kinpira)
Any veggies can be extra to this food. The main two are burdock and even carrots. Burdock will be a root vegetable much like celery. They can be purchased as being a Cookware market. The two are trim into matchstick pieces for ease and even thorough cooking. The addition of soy sauce, sesame seed products and sake aid to provide the greens a rich taste. Serve with grain.
Recipe 4 instructions Stir fry
This recipe requires really little oil inside the wok. You could use many different greens: mushrooms, peppers, onions, zucchini, broccoli, celery and more classic Japanese vegetables. One of the sauces they love to add is me llaman sauce. It naturel the food so no additional aromate are essential. 八女市 グルメ using rice only or perhaps add seafood like shrimp.
Recipe five - Poached berry
Dessert is generally a simple dish of sliced berry. You can take an Asian pear and poach it in green tea mixed with ginger and even almond. The apples are poached inside boiling tea along with the added seasoning and sugar. You may serve this on your own or with some green tea ice cream or sorbet.

Food for Thought
@spellbladerogier, @fracturedgold, @aithreachas, @tinyredrose, @abysscl, @bloodroses-and-thorns, and @goldenordered
Rogier –
Angel Food Cake. Though it would doubtlessly have a different name in The Lands Between (Breath of the Goddess, Marika's Delight, etc.), it is light and soft, perfect with a side of strawberries, blackberries, and blueberries with whipped creme, which he would of course serve to the sorcerer. Unlike other cakes, it is made without butter, but instead with egg whites and flour.
Why this dish?
Angel food cake is, as stated before, soft and airy. It's a lighthearted cake that inspires smiles. However, it pairs well not only with sweetness but bitterness. These undertones exemplify its gentle flavor without diminishing it, but very nearly hiding it. This is Rogier, blending in with many flavors, all the while maintaining his truth. It is also Wolfgang's way of letting Rogier know that it's okay, that he knows that he's hiding something or hurting, and that he may be honest with him.
Godfrey –
Stir-fry. A food comprised of different vegetables, meats, and seafood depending on where you are, but it also employs your choice of noodles and rice. In this case, he'd go with rice, and use strips of beef with corn, broccoli, onions, and green and red peppers. He might throw in a dab of soy sauce should he manage to purchase some from the merchants.
Why this dish?
He would need something hearty, yet flavorful to fill the first Elden Lord's stomach, and this is the best bet. Stir-fry has many options and many combinations, making it versatile for the road and long journeys, which the Chieftain of the Badlands is no doubt used to. However, it requires many ingredients to be a good dish, a sense of variety that can sometimes be hard to achieve. Filling, challenging, fun, and tasty with plenty of options for meat, which is a necessity when feeding Horah Loux.
Atreus –
Mutton pot pie. A savory dish that requires only a few vegetables that can be mixed and matched (potatoes, celery, carrots, and onions), with a tangy meat whose flavor composition changes depending on the age of the lamb, and a delicious, golden-brown pastry placed over top. Depending on the recipe, it can be creamy or stuffed to the brim with very little soup.
Why this dish?
Another dish for the road, if not for the topping. Mutton pot pie is traditional, filling, and satisfying. More than that, it is... warm. A piece of a home neither have. This is not meant to be a cruel reminder, but to inspire happy memories back to the surface of a man who has so few of them to share. He might not be able to gentle his spirit as easily as he could an Omen, but that does not mean he will not try.
Rosalind (Rose) –
Pistachio and rose tart. Rare ingredients for a very rare young lady. Yes, he had to be ironic, and yes, it had to be cute and pink. He would, of course, accompany this with rose tea for the ultimate experience. Rich and with a tender aroma, this dessert is made to draw one in, but it can never disappoint.
Why this dish?
He saw the irony and had to leap upon it. But more than that, this dish is meant to be loud, a bright point in an otherwise darkened place. It boasts a sense of... exuberance that is very easy to associate with naivete. Rambunctious and sharp, it actually suits her quite well, just as her name does. For what rose does not have its thorns?
Artorias –
Pomegranate sorbet. Both sweet but incredibly tart, it is amazing for a hot summer day, and boasts a flavor that clings and tingles. To achieve it will be difficult outside a frozen climate, but with a bit of ingenuity, and most likely magic, it can be done. Creamy and smooth, it slides down the throat to carry the sensation.
Why this dish?
What better dessert for a man that has plummeted to the depths? Wolfgang does not at first understand why he's driven to make it, only that it seems fitting as he plucks the seeds, and the pulp stains his fingers. So close to blood, to rebirth, to life in death. A pact made in darkness.
Morgott –
Yakisoba. Rather a lot like his father, he has a stir-fry dish, but this one is significantly more complex for the sauces required to make it to perfection. Upon completion it must not only be salty and sweet, but must contain a hint of sourness. Not only that, it utilizes noodles instead of rice, and requires different vegetables and is often served with altogether different meat. This union is not achieved easily with even one ingredient missing in the blend, so it requires a level of finesse and intense preparation.
Why this dish?
Elaborate though not exactly dignified for royalty, it has many flavors, and a certain robust presence. Nothing can be rushed if it is made from scratch, requiring a keen patience, but a steady perseverance. This is a dish for the Omen King, even if it is a bit strange to The Lands Between, as strange as he is, in fact. Something simple and yet intense, but... comforting.
Mohg –
Steak. Extra rare. The blood is still dripping onto the plate, mixing with the barely there juices of the outer, seared flesh. Cutting into the meat exposes a thoroughly red inside, with only the edges baring a hint of brown, and the thinnest sliver of pink following it. The herbs used are simple, complimenting the beef with basil and sage, interwoven and rubbed across the flesh.
Why this dish?
Anything else would earn an execution. He might stomach the seasoning, though only if done to perfection, as would be expected of a Lord's chef.
D –
Devil's Food Cake. The darker side to its angelic counterpart, it’s denser, richer, and moist in comparison. It requires less egg than the traditional chocolate cake, as well as baking soda, and is composed of a darker texture. It is complimented usually only by more chocolate icing or buttercream, never citrus and even meringue is unsatisfying in conjunction.
Why this dish?
Harsh and rich to a fault, this cake is quite unforgiving, and delectable but difficult to handle in large doses. Rather a lot like the man himself. This is a treat that is rare, incredibly so, as all things that claim to be sweet are in a time such as theirs. However, it is welcome when it comes, even if it can only be consumed in small quantities.
(( This is who I have as of right now. Let me know if you'd like your muse added! ))

Don’t Toss that Salad in the Bin: Ways to Minimize Food Waste & Loss.
Imagine this:
You and your friends went out to a restaurant to celebrate your birthday.
You’re staring at your half-empty plate of seafood pasta. You cannot continue eating anymore. You feel like you’re about to burst.
Frowning at the plate, you asked yourself, ‘Why did I go back for a second plate again?’
Putting your fork down in defeat, you called a waiter and asked them to take your plate away.
Is this a common occurrence for you?
According to the United States Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) report entitled “From Farm to Kitchen: The Environmental Impacts of U.S. Food Waste.” It states that food waste is the most common material found in municipal landfills. In addition to land pollution, rotting food waste also emits methane gas. Methane is a greenhouse gas, alongside carbon dioxide, nitrous oxide, etc. Compared to carbon dioxide, methane traps heat in the atmosphere a little too well.
So how do we resolve this problem?
Preventing Food Waste in the First Place
Food waste and food loss usually start in our fridge. Think to yourself: what food item do I always throw out? Keeping track of food spoilage can assist you in making a grocery list so that you know what to buy less. So next time, you find yourself holding a container of sad, mushy blueberries. Maybe it’s about time to buy less of those blueberries.
Speaking of sad, mushy blueberries, try to incorporate overripe fruits in your cooking. You can make a batch of sweet jam for that baguette you’ve been trying to eat for days now, or maybe one of those healthy fruit smoothies you’ve seen on Instagram or Pinterest. The possibilities are endless. Besides, our old friends, Google or Ecosia are there to help.
Avoiding to Throw Leftovers
It is not uncommon for leftovers to accumulate. Leftover food is not necessarily bad. It only becomes wasteful when we toss them to the nearest trash. The following can help to avoid throwing out leftovers:
You can use the “First In, First Out” method to avoid wasting food. In this method, the food that you first put in the refrigerator should be the first to be reheated or repurposed. This method will help you be sustainable and, at the same time, declutter that refrigerator.
Compost is an organic fertilizer made of decomposing organic matter and food scraps. This organic fertilizer is a great way to avoid wasting food. If you find yourself decluttering your refrigerator and find an unfinished Caesar salad from a few days ago, make sure you toss that baby in the compost.
Also, Consider!
Don’t be afraid to buy oddly-shaped foods that are in good condition. These “rejected” vegetables and fruits will only go to waste. Oddly-shaped produce is just as healthy as its “perfect” counterparts. Mushy fruits can be used for smoothies, sorbet, cobblers, tarts, etc.
Why not upcycle your leftovers to beauty products? Here is a list of foods that can be the next addition to your skincare:
- Fruits
- Avocados
- Bananas
- Olives
- Oats
- Used coffee grounds

Give your food scraps a second chance. Regrowing stalks from clean and consumable food scraps is possible. So, next time you find yourself with leftover celery or broccoli stalks, put them in a bowl full of water.
Lessening our contribution to food waste is by far the easiest and most impactful thing we can do for the environment. Not only does it help with the looming threat of climate change, but it also helps with the ongoing food crisis. So next time you want to go back for a second plate or buy more food than what you need. Think to yourself: do I need this, can I eat this, or will it only go to waste?
