Questioning a predatory theriotype until I see a post that's about eating or attacking rabbits (ITS ALWAYS RABBITS)

It makes me so sad because like what did that sweet thing in the burrow do to you? :( or that one picture of the wolf with a rabbit just hanging in its mouth like, that's literally me that you're eating.

I say that like I don't have an insane prey drive every time I see something that might possibly run from me, teehee

Rabbitkin (or any prey animal) tips- FORAGING!

It’s easy to forget that we have nutritious food right in the yard, park, or the woods! For animals like rabbits or deer or anything that likes to forage we can safely forage If you know your plants well!

(REMEMBER- ALWAYS do your research! Look up different plants/mushrooms and MAKE SURE TO POSITIVELY IDENTIFY any plant before eating!)

Heres some yummy forage that’s super good for you:

🌸 Dandelions! The cute yellow flowers are delicious and all parts are edible! Best in early spring before they get bitter.

🍓🫐 wild berries! Blackberries are easy to identify in the wild by spikey bushes and familiar leaves. The fruits are amazing and the leaves are edible in moderation- makes a lovely tea! Wild strawberries are delicious but hard to find!

☘️ Wild sorrel- one of my favorites! A tangy, yellow-green clover looking plant- tastes like sour patch kids! Contains oxalis acid so eat in moderation!

🧄 Wild garlic- A tall, garlicky smelling stalk, great to put in recipes or eat right off the ground. 🧅 Wild onion- These are easy to identify by dark green stalks and oniony smell. Great right off the ground or in recipes!

Kudzu- Everything but the seeds are edible on a kudzu plant! This is a southern growing vine that has taken over the south- but it’s edible and very delicious!

Nasturtium- I plant these in my garden to repel pests- but the leaves and flowers are delicious and taste like peppers! They grow really fast and are so fun to eat!

TUTORIAL ON HOW TO MAKE A SHORT TAIL OUT OF YARN!

FOR BEARS, BUNNIES, BOBCATS, AND ALL OTHER SMALL TAIL CREATURES!

Hello! I was really happy to see the positive response when I asked if anyone would be interested in seeing this tutorial. Anytime I see yarn tail tutorials I only really see them for longer tails, like for cats and canines. And, I haven't bee able to find any faux fur bear tails out there online, just keychains that have puffballs on them. Not really what I was looking for.

With all that being said, on with the tutorial!

First of all, we gotta talk about yarn weight. For those who don't know, the size of the yarn you use is called the weight. The bigger the strands of yarn, the bigger the weight number. I recommend using a yarn with the weight of 4, as it is the most standard yarn size and what you will be most likely to find at any craft store, dollar store, thrift store, etc.

Next you're going to pick your color(s). The process for this is slightly different if you plan on using more than 1 color.

Now we need to make a pompom. Here's a video tutorial on how to male yarn pompoms. They are SUPER easy to make and you have full control on the size of your pompom.

For those who wish to use more than 1 color you just need to wrap one color first half way, the the next color the rest of the way. To re enforce the hold of your yarn, I suggest double knotting off your pompom.

*IF you want to use a keychain chain to wear your tail, add that on BEFORE you cut into your yarn. You might need to get a bigger C link depending on the size of your yarn and/or the size of your pompom.

(The C link is the big circular part at the bottom of the chain)

You could leave your tail as a normal pompom if you want, but for me I like more of a "fur" look, which leads us to our next step. Brushing. If you have a pet brush that works the best but you can also brush it out with a comb (NOT a normal hairbrush, a comb with the thin teeth.)

Carefully brush out of the strands of your yarn, yanking too hard could pull some of the strands out of your pompom, which we don't want. Patience is key.

When you're done brushing your pompom should look something like this.

For my tail I hot glued a small strand of elastic to the back and on each end of the elastic I hot glued on a piece of velcro. This is how the tail attaches to my belt loop. (Test out how long your elastic needs to be on your belt/belt loop BEFORE you cut your elastic. Creates less waste.)

And there you have it! You made a short tail! I hope this tutorial was helpful! Now us smaller tail creatres don't have to feel left out in the gear department!

I have been in search of a term that best describes my feelings and I honestly feel like I still haven't found it, but having something that feels free to me is what I'm most excited about.

I am not bashing or denouncing any terms or history, I am just having something that feels lest restrictive in my journey. If you'd like to also use this term, feel free. This was made with me in mind and within like an hour so it's got some flaws.

I'll be using this term in tandem with therian/otherhearted/otherkin/etc, since it's essentially an amalgamation of many things.

❅ Animalurge:

Animalurge represents a profound desire to embody various animal qualities, encompassing physical attributes like ears, tails, and instincts, as well as connections to the natural habitats where these animals reside.

Individuals with Animalurge experience comfort and a sense of freedom when envisioning themselves with these animal qualities or as animals. These feelings can fluctuate in intensity and may be associated with a diverse array of animals. This term encapsulates a fusion of experiences often found in therianthropy, otherheartedness, and regression.

It's an integrated feeling that can be triggered by specific circumstances such as watching documentaries about the chosen animal, encountering related foods, engaging in specific activities, or immersing themselves in nature or related gear.

Individuals can choose to define their experience as identifying "with" or "as" an animal or neither/both. Animalurge is a term designed to encompass a wide range of experiences that may or may not align with existing media representations.

❅ -Lurge:

The suffix "-lurge" is used to denote specific Animalurge identities.

❅ Examples:

❅ Parker is an Animalurge. They are a wolflurge. With a strong yearning to possess biological wolf traits and instincts, Parker finds a sense of freedom in nature and takes pleasure in daydreaming about life as a wolf and "acting" like one. These feelings are a consistent part of their daily thoughts and experiences.

❅ Toby is also an Animalurge, specifically a catlurge. Toby's desires and visions for their catself are highly specific. They imagine themselves as a dilute tortoiseshell house cat. These catlurge feelings arise periodically, typically once a month, often triggered by posts or media related to cats.

❅ Minty is a multi-faceted Animalurge, encompassing broad rabbitlurge connections with all variants of rabbits, deeply routed in her being. Her primary focus is rabbitlurge, a feeling of a mind intertwined with these creatures. Additionally, she is a cockatiellurge, which she considers more for fun, keeping it in mind when swinging on a swing or enjoying sunflower seeds. Her mouselurge identity is derived from a general interest in mice, representing a blend of various aspects that change in intensity throughout the year.
