Replaced my yarn winder! I got a Stanwood Large Winder, which can hold up to 10oz of yarn (aka the big giant skeins I have). I'm in AWE. It's so smooth, it's so soothing, it makes fantastic center pull balls. Eventually I'll upgrade my umbrella swift, but that's a "later" project. (To be clear - I replaced it because I have yet to find my previous winder, even though I've gone through all my bins. I think. Nothing broke, I just couldn't wind yarn like I wanted to without applying extra stress to the yarn.)

Needed a Travel Project. Insert Heartnut Accessory Set. I'm in love with the colors and how it's working up. (I worked on it for all of like 5 minutes.)

Total Yarn Removed: 1075 yds/500 g

5 Skeins of Brown Sheep Yarn Co Cotton Fleece in: Jaded Mermaid, Limelight, Olive Burst, Oriental Jade and Peridot - 1075yds/17.65 oz/500 g/985 M for Nimue Forest WIP

I'm not weighing the itty bitty little bowtie balls I have leftover; that comes at the end. These skeins are functionally "finished".

Database Update:

I'm getting back to this in April. March was hella busy. I have like...two total bins to finish out what's in the house and reclaim the dining room.

Courage Update:

Bunch of yarns for Leukemia & Lymphoma Society (direct donation link from Cesium Yarn) were released. I'm all for donations and causes being supported like this and the colors are phenomenal.

Cesium Yarn also released Dragon Tales inspired colors. Sobbing from how beautiful they are. (They have a bunch of fantastic colorways and I want them all)

Canon Hand Dyes released mid-year 12-ct countdown sets themed after hummingbirds. I am screaming because they sound so pretty in the original descriptions. Heartbroken I missed out on their flower fairy sets last year, though another of their 12-ct countdowns were less exciting than I expected.

Long Dog Yarns made an announcement they were bringing back their first three Heirloom Tomato colors, this time with matching tonals (solid colors). The urge is there, but I keep trying to justify a project. They're just a lovely speckle/tonal squish that looks absolutely edible in yarn form. (It's likely they'll all be released next year, since that's the structure Long Dog has used in the past, so I think I'll save up for that over the last 9 months of the year)

I still want all of Dye Mad Yarn's Harvest Collection. 🪿

but that’s what’s weird; most of the time lawyers do use just straight up latin! using french in this one case is very strange!

good news I have stayed up far too late to read all of prince's gambit in one day after it and kings rising arrived in the mail and I'm gonna lose my fucking mind, many Things happened but it is especially the Happenings at the very end with the Arrival and oh my god (and I absolutely will read the short stories when I can, this is the most fun I've had with literally any reading in a very long time which is why I must yell in your inbox thanks)

aaah, PG is the best of the three i think, i just love the shenanigans and chemistry so much in it. KR is also very very fun though and the whole nikandros vs damen’s weakness to blonde hair thing is so funny :D

ive never actively applied it to anything but it was one of the best examples of people jumping to their own conclusions because sp gave us vague impressions of families but people always wanted deeper drama

kind of like now? ive always just liked how creative fandom gets when the show only gives us bare cardboard-cutout bones to work from

since this is coming up again, I would like to offer additional info for folks that are like "wait. could I have mcas?" dr lawrence afrin has a book called "never bet against occam" that I found to be much more comprehensive than anything I could ever find online, which is making it a lot easier to be pushy after years of suspicion. *warning: he is far more forgiving of mistakes made by his colleagues and himself than he rightly should be. please proceed with caution.*

Yeah, thanks for that. I have to admit, while I find his research invaluable, I’ve not been impressed with him as a physician. Unfortunate, but that’s the way it goes sometimes.
