I think the repack was not well planned, but they still made one bcs they could tell ppl wanted it, so it was pushed out half hearted. Lets now set the bar reaaal low they thought. If ppl had given up and we skipped this release, waited until a real new concept (maybe a mini?) i wonder if we might have dodged this mess

i cant believe i didnt recognize the motel but i havent seen that mv in yearsss. ok just went back and watched it and i guess the only part i should have recognized from the ay-yo teasers is the empty pool but otherwise i dont think i would have realized without you telling me bc they mostly used different areas of the motel.

my memory is a bit fuzzy with the details of the repackage timeline but im pretty sure we were told a while ago that there would be a repackage so thats why everyone was expecting one (or maybe not, maybe we just assumed there would be one). i really dont know what kind of strategy they were going for with this awful repackage. but sm are no strangers to delays so i dont get why they couldnt have just delayed it a few more months if they needed more time.

the 127s DO need a career refresh. wayv and especially dream both feel fresh and interesting at the moment even with dream currently promoting a 90s cover song. their concepts feel distinctive and characteristic of their respective subunits and both have progressively evolved over time in a way that makes sense. 127's concept just feels stale :/ i think the 2 baddies concept photos were ALMOST THERE with the jack henry inspired photography especiallyyy his rosalía pics and rob pat pics for gq. i think they could have really pushed the visuals. i would LOVE to see 127 with a bit more edge to them. and instead of worrying about staying as pretty as possible. theyre already pretty they dont need to worry about that. i want to see them be INTERESTING and PUSH THE BOUNDARIES for whats the norm in kpop ok i have a vision. dpr ian is a wonderful example of what im talking about, though i would like to see 127 go with a bit more editorial/futuristic/luxury branding.

there are also some really great korean photographers too who have done really interesting work that i think would fit 127 like:

cho gi-seok, an icon. everyone knows cgs! and for a reason! i especially love their matrix inspired series it would be sooo good for 127 but their other futuristic/tech shoots are perfect for 127 too

pakbae is also great and while they focus more on fashion photography, they do occasionally work with idols for magazines. i love that they always throws a few interesting and unexpected images

go won tae has done plentyy of idol photoshoots that you would probably recognize.

less, aka kim taekyun, my tried and true. has also worked with a bunch of idols and with sm for superm and solo taemin and baekhyun concept photos in the past. i also love his editorial shoots but i'll just show some of the work he's done with sm. i think he could do something REALLY interesting if only sm would allow it

Dimulai akhir tahun 2016 dengan hiatusnya Jaemin. Kalian comeback kali ini mini album pertama, MFAL.

Masa ini, aku sedang sibuk skripsi. Lagu ini hampir setiap saat terdengar di kamarku. Bahkan penghuni kamar tetangga aja sampe hafal reff lagu ini, sampai sekarang.

Inget saat kalian ke Indonesia, dia langsung nge-wa aku dengan bilang "kae ono nae ga odi isodo kum soge sodo". Haha. Kalian berkesan, memang.

Dan pasti moment ini yang paling berkesan, pertama kali kalian dapet thropy chat musik mingguan. Noona bangga padamu dek.

Aku lupa baca dimana, ada tulisan ngomong gni.

CG itu masa TK kalian.

MFAL itu masa SD kalian.

Dan saat itu mereka menebak, jangan-jangan akan ada konsep sexy versi dreamies.

Dan ternyata kalian juga pengen pakai konsep itu. Haha dasar kalian.

Setelah MFAL, aku tetap mengikuti kalian.

Tambah bangga saat kalian dipilih untuk menjadi ambassador World Cup U-20. Mana pake nyanyiin OSTnya lagi.

Ku tau, itu pasaran kalian banget. Anak muda banget.

Lalu kalian comeback tema pantai-pantai khas summer "We Young". Gilla, makin e& diriku.

Walau Jaemin belum ikut join. Tapi kalian selalu mention dia. Menyakinkan fans kalau Jaem baik-baik aja. Lagu di album ini semua keren, dan tetap walk you home yang paling ikonik. My Page jangan di tanya, pas banget sama aku saat itu. Yang udah wisuda dan mikir gawean. Liat temen lain udah kerja, lirik My Page pas banget pokoknya.

Dan jengjeng. 2018 pertengahan. Jaem kembali. Udah berubah dengan suara berat, udah mulai keliatan bucinnya. Haha.

Kali ini hadir dengan lagu "Go" with semua unit NCT. Konsepnya keren, anak gaul Amerika yang mainnya malem, lari-lari di jalan kek anak jalanan, dan ajeb-ajeb dikamar haha.

Gak tau kenapa, saat Jaem kembali. Kalian makin mempesona, Renjun makin keliatan ketularan jailnya Haechan. Si Chenle yang udah lancar banget ngomongnya dan makin cs sama Jisung. Dan Jeno yang makin keliatan no jam. Haha, dua orang (Mark & Haechan) yang sibuk sama unit lain.

Lalu "We Go Up". Tahun terakhir kalian bakal bareng sama Mark di Dream. Di comeback kali ini lebih remaja banget. Kek anak SMA gtu, banyak pakai seragam dan tebar pesona sana-sini. Akhir tahun 2018 ditutup dengan "The Dream Show" buat melepas Mark. Hmmm sedih iyaa. Tapi Mark tetep stay di grup chat mereka kok. Comeback kali ini lagunya keren, dan saya sukaaa. Kurasa banyak fans yang suka lagu ini.

Eh kelupaaan, ada SM Station 3 kalian. Candle Light, walah kalau ini mah masterpiece banget deh. 💚

Pasca-Mark pergi, kalian berenam.

Mark ada aja kalian lepas kendali, Mark gak ada walah udah keliatan kek apa kalian bertingkah. Wkwkw.

Kami sebagai fans modal kuota dikagetkan dengan kolaborasi kalian sama HRVY di SM Station, astagaa. Mana seumuran sama Mark lagi. Penyanyi British yang lagi naik daun. Dan aku juga tau lagu-lagunya.

Kalian bawain DNYL. Gilla pesonanya keluar semuaaa. Astagaaa, jerit-jerit akutu.

Haha Noona Fans banget elah.

Tapi tenang, ku nikmati sendiri kok. ^^

Abis itu kalian bikin bangga kita semua lagi, ambassador lagi broo. Dan ini Pramuka Dunia. Ada Jambore tingkat dunia di Virginia. Kalian (anak-anakku) dipilih donk jadi yang nyanyiin The Official Song Of The Worldnya Scout Fondation.

Fireflies, nyanyi di depan anak seusia mereka pakai baju pramukaaa. Walah, ambyar aku dek. "Tell me 'bout your dreaming".

And last, kalian comeback dengan "Boom" mana pakai setelan jas gtu lagi.

Jadi mikir mereka udah besar. 2019 bakal 4 yang graduate nyusul Mark dan ninggalin Jisung sama Chenle.

Udah males mikir sebenernya, males spekulasi tentang mereka yang bakal nambah member atau gimana.

Dan hari ini, mereka udah slesai konser 3 hari. The Dream Show in Seoul. Banyak kakak-kakak mereka yang dateng nonton, nyemangatin mereka.

Rasanya seneng mereka bisa konser sendiri, berenam. Anak usia 16-19 tahun lhoo broo, udah konser gtuu. Siapa yang gak bangga sama mereka.

Jadi aku cuma mau ngetik, entah kebetulan atau memang kesengajaan. Kalian sudah menemani setiap langkah hidup aku. Terdengar berlebihan memang, tapi biarkan aku seperti ini hari ini sajaa.

Dari mulai kalian hadir 2016 sampe 2019.

Dari mulai aku kuliah sampe kerja.

Dari kalian yang sebelum jam 10 harus udah off kamera karena masih dibawah umur, sampe sekarang udah mau bikin kartu identitas.

Selamat untuk diriku sendiri setidaknya kalian sangat membantuku lewat karya kalian yang selalu luar biasa dan berkesan.

I hate making this and I know it’s super rude of me and I apologize but desperate times call for desperate measures.

Cross Gene are a group that debuted in 2012 but they’re in danger of disbanding if their comeback doesn’t do well. That’s why we ask you guys to vote for them. Loco’s favorite MV in 2016 の解説…をしようと思ったけど、解説するほど詳しくないので、知ってる限りの情報を交えた超個人的な感想をしたためたいと思います。

なんだか長くなりそうな予感・・・

1: Save Me  BTS (방탄소년단)

BTS、バンタンこと「防弾少年団」です。 2016年はBTSをかなりチェックしていました!!! BTSはデビュー時から、本人たちが楽曲制作に関わっていることもあってか〝少年と大人の間の男子〟を、本当によく表現しているなぁと思っていましたが、2016年のBTSはそれの総仕上げ的な作品をバンバン産み落としていたように思います。 その中でもこの曲 Save Me はたまんなかったですね〜

日本語Ver. もリリースされていますが、やっぱり韓国語の歌詞の方がピッタリしっくりきます。

そしてこのMVです。Save Me。ヒリヒリ。そのまま。 雨ざらしの荒野でSave Meってもう、たまんないじゃないですか!?  I want to save youじゃないですか⁉︎ ww この天候もSave Me 感増して良い色になってます。

長回しの1発撮りっていうのもすごくて （もしかしたらどっかで切って繋げてるかもしれないけど） 演者もカメラマンもアシスタントも本当にすごい〜

カメラのズームイン・アウトやブレ、フレームイン・アウト、構図作りも興味深くて、撮影メイキングもよく見ました。

言いたいことがありすぎてでもこの調子で書いてたら冬から春になりなそうなのでSave Meはこの辺で。

とにかくBTSのSave Me は2016年に一番見たMVで、とっても好きなMVです。

2: LAST DANCE  BIGBANG

待ってましたのBIGBANG。 2016年12月リリースですが、すでに好きなMV2位。

・・・シビれましたよね。。 初見では泣きましたよ。（本当に…）

撮影はロケもセッ���もかなり大掛かりだけどはまってて、奇をてらってなくて、単色使いもスッと落ち着いていて。 光の使い方が印象的でしかも丁寧。 見ていて気持ちがいいです。

何より、アングルが上下縦横関係なく動くのがおもしろくて、スマホの全画面表示で見たら不思議な気分になりました。

これまたかなり興味深くてメイキングもじっくり見ちゃいました。

クレジット探したけど見つけられなくて、制作スタッフがわからないんですが気になる…監督は誰でしょうか？

3: 피 땀 눈물 (Blood Sweat & Tears)  BTS (방탄소년단)

またBTSです。本当に、2016のBTSはすごかった。

「피 땀 눈물」 は「血、汗、涙」です。

このMVの何がすごいって、

この曲が収録されているアルバム WINGS には、この曲の他にメンバーひとりひとりのソロ曲(全７曲)も収録されているのですが その一つ一つがアルバムのコンセプトのチャプターになっていて、Short Film としてティーザー公開されたんですね。

続々と公開されたティーザーの最後に、この曲が公開され、このMVに、Short Film のナゾの全てが集約されているという、映画のような・ドラマ仕立ての超！大掛かりな仕掛けだったんですよ、、、

ヘルマンヘッセの「デミアン」の重要なセンテンスがナレーションされ、ティーザーもMVもデミアンをイメージソースにされているようです。

思わず、デミアン掘り出して読み返してしまいました…

ヘッセの書く少年性とBTSの少年性がビタッとはまって、もう最高としか言えませんでしたね…

MVはティーザーも含めて見ていると、大掛���りなセットで撮影されている上に、攻めの加工・編集がされてて、世界観もしっかりと作り上げているので、かなり見応えがあります。

メンバーが７人いますが、誰一人として脇役になることがない、全員に同じ重さの見どころがあるのがまたすごい。 どのシーンも一つも妥協しないで美意識を詰め込んである感じが好きです。

4: I’M IN TROUBLE (Feat. Loco(로꼬))  GIRIBOY(기리보이)

動画が５つまでしか貼れないようなのでここからはサムネイル画像です。

ギリボイもよく聴きましたけど、MVはダントツでこれが好き。 まず、タテ位置なのでスマホで見るとちょうど良い。PCなヨコ位置の絵作りは無視されています。

というのも、クルクル変わるデザインの全てが、雑誌の表紙を模していて、日本でもおなじみのあの雑誌のロゴがたくさんパロディされています。

だからか、動画なんだけど写真的で、ライティングが全部かっこいい〜！

SHINeeのジョンヒョンのソロです。

この曲の詞もとても好きなんですが、MVがまた興味深いです。 サラッと見てると、どこかキッチュでポップでカラフルでかわいい〜って感じなんだけど、瞬間瞬間にナゼかドキッとするポイントがあって、よぉ〜く見てるとなんだかメッセージ性が強い。

私はジョンヒョン自体にジェンダーレスな雰囲気を感じているんですが、このMV見てるとよりそれを感じます。

6: Free Somebody  LUNA (루나)

f(x)のルナのソロデビュー曲。

曲はかっこいし、ビジュアルも超良かった。

f(x)からソロデビューするならルナだよね〜と思っていたので、4wallからのこのテイストでのデビューはあら〜〜イイカンジ！！とすぐに食いつきました(笑)

(((アンバもソロデビューしてるけど、私はルナの方がだいぶ好み)))

ダンスも可愛い〜〜♡ 振り付けは日本人ダンサーのAkanen Miyoshi さんですよ。

韓国国内より、海外での方が反応が良かったみたいですが、ルナの歌唱力と健康美はもっと歳を重ねてからも成熟されそうなので、期待しています…

って私だれなんだろう…w

で、MVではルナちゃんがイラストになるのがカワイイ♡

Yongoh Kim (김용오)さんというイラストレーターです。 たまたまインスタをフォローしていましたよ

出てくる男子も、ソウルファッションウィークで撮影したことがあったモデル(PARK YURI)さんだったので、出てきてびっくり！

このモデルさんは当時はまだショーにも出てなくて売り出し中のモデルだって言ってたし、 このイラストレーターさんにしても、 最近の SHINee のビジュアルでコラボした日本のイラストレーター BRIDGE SHIP HOUSE さんにしても、 振付師にしても、、

SMent の人材発掘・起用のしかたって本当にすごいわ・・・

別に有名じゃなくてもいいし、良いものは良い。

ハマるものはハマる。それだけ。

この辺りのディレクションとパワーは見習いたいところですよね。。。
