The #15906 train of the Indian Railways (Dibrugarh-Kanyakumari Vivek Express) runs from the northeast corner of Assam to the southernmost point of the Indian mainland, with a total length of 4,273 kilometers and lasting 85 hours. India is the longest train in terms of time and distance. It departs from Dibrugarh at 10:45 on Saturday night and arrives at Kanyakumari on Wednesday, three days and four nights at around 11 am. The first part of the journey is in the dark, making beds and meeting neighbors is the only activity. As the sun rose, the lovely hill station of Diphu, Assam slides Glid across the mist.

The train is 21 cars long, fully loaded, and can carry more than 1,800 people. It is three to four times the capacity of modern jetliners, perhaps equivalent to the population of a small town. There are 4 types of accommodation on the train: 2nd and 3rd floor air conditioners (two or three bunk beds), sleepers (also 3rd floor, but no air conditioning) and no reservations (floor to temporary hammock ... anything). There is also a cutlery car with a kitchen, various luggage and special cars, and electric locomotives.

The train 22851/22852 Vivek Express connects Santragachhi (a small town near Howrah in Kolkata, West Bengal) with Mangalore Central in Karnataka. This is also a weekly train. Unlike other Vivek Expresss, it belongs to the ultrafast category of Indian Railways. The train passes West Bengal, Orissa, Andhra Pradesh, Tamil Nadu, Kerala and Karnataka. The important cities on the way are Bhubaneswar, Brahmapur, Bijinagaram, Visakhapatnam, Rajahmundry, Eluru, Vijayawada, Tirupati , Coimbatore, Palakkad, Tirur, Kozhikode, Kannur and Kasaragod etc.
