WWE King & Queen of the Ring (2024) - REVIEW

I first got into wrestling after watching the 1996 King of the Ring which was famously won by Stone Cold Steve Austin and the event became a firm favourite of mine thereafter. Part of the excitement was that you never quite knew who was going to win and then pushed to the next big star. With a couple of exceptions between 1993 and 2002 (Mabel, Ken Shamrock, Billy Gunn), most winners of the King of the Ring went on to much bigger things but the event itself fell out of favour post-2002 and was only brought back occasionally but it never really seemed to mean anything. The 2024 King & Queen of the Ring tournament by contrast for me has been a great success in part because it seems to have been given a new leash on life by creative. OK yeah there were a few stars who pulled out due to injuries or other reasons, but it's hard to argue that this years King and Queen of the Ring doesn't mean anything especially with the added twist of a world title shot awarded to the winners. The respective final match of the tournament may lack storyline heat between the competitors but the stakes of the tournament more than make up for it. WWE has had a great year so far with its PLE's and this one is no different.

Women's World Heavyweight Championship Match - Becky Lynch (c) vs. Liv Morgan

A minor feud that felt hastily put together following the injury to Rhea Ripley that none the less delivered a solid match with some significant story implications due to the involvement of one Dominik Mysterio. The match itself wasn't a classic but it certainly showcased just how far Liv Morgan has come as a competitor from her days as member of the Riott Squad to now being World Champion. Perhaps the most memorable element to the match was it's ending with Dominik Mysterio representing the off-screen Ripley while accidentally (or not?) costing Becky Lynch the match and title. It definitely felt the right call as Lynch didn't particularly need another lengthy title reign whereas it certainly felt the right choice to put the title on Liv Morgan and spice up her feud with Rhea Ripley at the same time. A good start to the show for me.

Triple Threat Match for the Intercontinental Championship - Sami Zayne (c) vs. Chad Gable vs. Big Bronson Reed

This is by and large the biggest and longest running feud on this card that has been brewing since WrestleMania and involving stars who had been hovering around the Intercontinental title since the Gunther run. This match was incredible and was boosted by the Saudi crowd reaction to Sami Zayne who probably got one of the biggest pops of the night. It's also reassuring to see that the work Gunther put in to raise the profile of the IC title seems to be continuing and it felt right for Chad Gable and Bronson Reed to still be in the mix and adding variety to a rather small card. This had everything you'd want from a good triple threat match with high spots, plenty of near falls and the drama between Gable and Otis at ringside helped to add a little bit more to this match. Outstanding.

Queen of the Ring Finals Match - Lyra Valkyria vs. Nia Jax

The coldest match on the card that also wasn't helped by a lack of crowd reaction which is a shame because this was a showcase for a newer star with great potential and a veteran who is probably on her best run in WWE. Lyra Valkyria had a great entrance, look and put in a good effort in a David vs. Goliath style match where Nia Jax utilized her size and style to great effect. The finish in particular was very impressive and the result felt right with Jax finally getting some much needed and deserved recognition. An interesting clash between Bayley and Nia Jax at SummerSlam awaits.

King of the Ring Finals Match - Randy Orton vs. Gunther

This was the polar opposite of the Queen of the Ring Finals match; a clash between two heavy weights in WWE who had never met before and with very different styles. That there was no real story between them going in felt irrelevant as their respective reputations alone made this a mouth watering prospect and it certainly didn't disappoint. This was an old school wrestling match with a deliberate pace, great selling (particularly from Orton) and a crowd that was into it at the start. It's a shame that the final pin by Gunther seemed to be botched with Randy Orton's shoulder not down on the mat but it doesn't take away that this was an incredible match with the right result.

WWE Undisputed Championship - Cody Rhodes (c) vs. Logan Paul

Coming off of a stunning finale at WrestleMania 40, it is fair to say that the one thing Cody Rhodes has perhaps been lacking is a compelling story since becoming champion. Sure there's the much teased feud with the Rock to look forward to but right now from a storytelling point of view, we're in a more episodic stage. On the plus side, the Backlash match with AJ Styles was outstanding and the match here, though not as good as the Backlash match, is still a very good main event. Rhodes and Logan Paul make for a good pairing with Paul in particular making for a natural heel against Rhode's babyface. It feels repetitive to say how impressive Logan Paul's in ring ability is given his experience, but he again puts in an impressive performance with Cody Rhodes in a compelling match that was otherwise predictable in its outcome.

Theory, Miz, and Corbin all have the same gimmick of being hated because they don't deserve their spots, which works for generating heat but not for establishing credibility.

I don't think Gable and Otis have ever gotten a shot on TV, so maybe that's something.

I don't personally think it's bad for one team to dominate the division across both shows for over a year, but you'd think they'd be setting up more new challengers by now.

Anthony's Stupid Daily Blog (751): Sun 7th Apr 2024

Today was daylight savings and not the good one where you gain an extra hour of sleep but the shitty one where at one AM your five hours sleep IMMEDIATELY becomes a fucking four hour sleep which is no fucking good. Luckily I find that after a few minutes on the pedal bike to work the it shakes off the cobwebs due to the lack of sleep and starts to pump the adrenaline through you so I woke up pretty quickly. On my lunch break I saw that Angus Young was trending and I thought “Oh fuck off” but turns out he’s not dead it’s just his birthday which is a good thing not just for me but for the universe because if I had paid £180 for the AC/DC gig (not including travel and accommodation) only for it to be cancelled for a reason as trivial as the lead singer dying then I would get to work on that doomsday device I've been planning since I was four. I realised it would be stupid to try and avoid the spoilers from night one of Wrestlemania all day so I just checked them out on Wrestling Inc. I wasn't surprised that Rock and Roman won their match and I suspect that Cody will overcome the odds tomorrow night even though I'm still not sold on him being the one to end the most historic reign of the modern era. I was happy to see that the tag titles were finally split because there are a lot of tag teams on the roster who could use the rub but haven't been able to recieve it because there has only been one set of tag titles for the last two years. I was sad to see that Gunther's historic Intercontinental title reign came to an end last night. I love Sami Zayn to death but the one to beat Gunther should have been Chad Gable. They could have done a Daniel Bryan style grassroots movement to get fan support behind him then had Gable win a chamber match for the title shot. On the subject of wrestling news also broke today that AEW is going to air the footage of CM Punk and Jack Perry's backstage confrontation during All In at Wembley. Under normal circumstances I'd say that this deemed like a desperation move and a ploy to get a bump in the ratings if not for the fact that Punk fired the first shots on Ariel Helwani's podcast. Prior to this Punk and AEW seemed to be agreeing to a non-disclosure deal where neither side would bash the other but Punk threw all that to the wayside when he described Tony as "a great guy but not a boss" and said AEW is full of people who are content with "some goof giving you a five star match and performing to a quarter full arena". I get what he's saying but to say the entire roster are marks for Meltzer is being disingenuous plus I can't imagine that any of the roster are happy when they look out and see that the building isn't full but that's Tony Khan's fault not theirs. If they're doing this in order to get extra heat on The Young Bucks and potentially to debut Jack Perry as a member of The Elite then fair play to them. It still feels a bit childish but as I said Punk fired the first shots and said that he was just telling the truth so if AEW have footage that shows he wasn't telling the truth then they should 100% air it.

AMA, Angle, Hype, Powerhouse, Dark Match, and Gimmick.

Angle(favourite storyline/s. Why?): The BCC is still a favourite. I love them being a violent little group who can shift in and out where needed and watching the bond form between them. Thea Hail in NXT being corrupted by Jacy Jayne is fun, as is Athena having Billie as her minion.

Dark Match(favourite non televised match): Going to guess YouTube doesn't count as televised. Any and all combinations of Claudio and Yuta vs The Workhorsemen on Dark/Elevation.

Gimmick(favourite or least favourite gimmick matches): I am a huge fan of gauntlet matches when they're done right. I don't know how many times I've re-watched the gauntlet match on RAW from Feb 2018 when Seth went over an hour. The Kofi gauntlet match when he failed to get his title shot. Then the tag team gauntlet with the New Day fighting for Kofi's WrestleMania dreams, the moment when The Usos forfeited was so huge.

Hype(overrated or underrated wrestlers): Going with underrated because let's be positive today. No matter how many tag titles he wins, Xavier Woods is underrated as a singles wrestler. Chad Gable. I'm putting Yuta on my list too even though some people might not agree since he gets a lot of TV time, but outside of Tumblr, I think his value and abilities are still underrated and they haven't even touched on all that he's capable of yet. For women, again, it feels weird considering her success but I think Bayley's value to the women's division is highly underrated. She's so unselfish, she's a ring general, and can almost always get a good match out of her opponent. Natalya too, she's been around a while and is always an option for a quick feud with a top star when they need one.

Powerhouse(Wrestlers whose strength amazes you): Chad Gable. The guy suplexed Gunther. Claudio is always finding new ways to impress with his strength. Jamie Hayter.

Make a wish kids on the ramp for Cenas entrance.Huge way to kick things off,this was a good match but Cena looked like he was missing a step, ofcourse he pulled out his usual moves,the crowd hated Theory here,back and forth between both men in this one, this was a fairly short match,Austin took a few cheap shots and a few low blows. Cena hooked in the STF twice and went for the AA but it was Austin Theory coming on top,hitting A-town down to take the pin and takes home the us title.

The next one is THE STREET PROFITS VS ALPHA ACADEMY VS VIKING RAIDERS VS BRAUN STROWMAN AND RICOCHET IN A WRESTLEMANIA SHOWCASE FATAL FOUR WAY MATCH.WWE Hall of Famer Titus O'Neil on commentary for this contest.All 4 teams looking very,very good and leaving it all on the mat,plenty of high flying action,multiple tags from all teams, no one looking out of place. There was actual promotion in this match by way off Inuit insurance. A brawl is on and now Chad Gable showing his strength with a German suplex to Braun. Ivar and then Braun with a splash from the top rope,now Otis hitting the worlds strongest slam on Braun. Everyone to the top rope now and all crashing down with a super plex and now Braun with the Strowman express but he got stopped in his tracks by Angelo then Ricochet hit a shooting star press to the outside. Back in and Montez Ford hits from the heavens for Street Profits to win.

Well lets get to the next one shall we itsssss LOGAN PAUL VS SETH ROLLINS.Logan comes from the top of the stadium on a trapeze and a guy dressed as a bottle of prime comes to the ring with him. A conductor comes out before Seths entrance. The crowd is very hot and very ready. This waa an amazing match. Really good i say. The match begins and Logan tossing Seth out the ring,mocked him and then tried run away but the hit a Buckshot Lariat,Logan took advantage but Seth got back into it but not for long as Logan hooked in a submission on Seth who did indeed escape. Seth now with 3 suicide dives,Logan now with the lucky punch,Prime guy pulled Logan out the ring and its KSI Seth went after him but Logan put Seth on the announce table as KSI filmed it,Logan off the top rope but frog splashes KSI instead. Back in the ring and Seth hits a Pedigree with Logan kicks out of then hits a GTS and then a frog splash to Seth to no avail,he then goes for a coast to coast but is met by a super kick from Seth then the stomp for the dub.

Going into the next match DAMAGE CONTROL VS BECKY LYNCH,TRISH STRATUS AND LITA. Good match right here,Dakota Kai and Becky start the match,in comes Iyo now Lita,multiple tags in and out by Damage Control,now Trish in and shes taken over for her team and now Trish with a vintage move by aid of Becky and Lita. We see poetry in motion from Lita with help from Trish,Becky in with the leg drop. Bayley gets in and fight,Trish quickly in to hit Stratusfaction,then Becky with a roll up on Bayley to no avail,now Iyo with a moonsault to the outside but all women back in to break the 10 count,twist of fate from Lita to Dakota,chick kick,moonsault and then a man handle slam from Becky,the pinfall and they are victorious.

Gonna show me what being with a real man is like?” Ana bit her lip, voice taking on a flirty and giggly tone as she walked her fingers up and down his chest, staring up at him. Chad swallowed hard and sucked in a breath when he felt her rubbing right against him. His fingertips dug into her lower back as he cleared his throat.

“I’d love that, actually.” he answered, flashing Baron a smirk as he answered, watching Baron’s eyes cloud with anger. Ana grabbed hold of Chad’s jaw, guiding his gaze down to her as she gave a soft giggle. “You can pick me up at 6. I’ll be the one in the little red dress.”

“Red, huh?” Chad breathed against her lips as Ana rose to tiptoe slightly and brushed them against his while muttering, “Mhm.. I mean you are the one who said you liked my new red lipgloss..”

Chad’s fingertips dug into her lower back more firmly and his tongue slipped past her lips as he chuckled, “ You’re something else, you know that?”

“ Y��� can always call me. Y’ know that, right?”  

When Pete said it at the time, Alexandra honestly hadn’t ever thought she’d be considering it. But he was her best friend, they’d been best friends since he was 7 and she was 5, so she knew he meant it. She’d assured him she’d be fine and that she knew what she was doing and now, standing in the airport in Florida, where he’d relocated to, she just wasn’t sure how true that was anymore.

The only thing she was beyond sure of was that she missed him. Nothing felt the same without him. Despite having everything go her way for once and having pretty much everything she thought she wanted, she still felt this void. After thinking about it, she decided that she was sick of feeling that way and she realized that the only times she didn’t feel that way were the times she was with Pete.

The realization prompted her to break off her engagement, move out of her ex fiance’s loft and buy a ticket to Florida. She didn’t know if what she was doing was a huge mistake and while she knew Pete meant it when he said it originally, she didn’t know that calling him now would be a good idea.

What if he’d met someone?

The thought had her conflicted. As everyone on her flight rushed to meet the loved ones they had waiting on them at the airport, Alexandra powered on her phone and bit her lip as she realized that Pete had gotten the text she sent explaining that she wanted to visit and telling him she was actually en route.

Pete Dunne stood in the lobby of the airport. He glanced at the time, blue eyes darting to the gate she’d be coming out of when her plane finished unloading. Just as he started to tap his foot impatiently, he spotted her.

Trent and Tyler shared a look as he started to shove through the thickening crowd and headed towards one of the gates. They followed, Trent musing to himself, “I wonder if he’ll finally tell her how he really feels.”

“I wonder if she’ll finally open her eyes. Because she feels the same way too. Remember last time we went back? When he took us to meet her? The tension was so fuckin thick I couldn’t bloody breathe.” Tyler answered as the two caught up to Pete just in time to witness it all unfolding.

Pete spotted Alexandra right as she spotted him. He walked towards her quickly and she ran towards him, meeting him halfway, climbing into his arms, taking his face into her hands as she crashed her mouth against his and kissed him until he felt his lips starting to swell and bruise. Pete’s fingers dug into her ass and he growled quietly into the kiss while deepening it.

“I broke it off with Jasper.”

“Thank fuck. Was startin t’ think I was going to have t’ kidnap y’ before the wedding.” Pete let her slide down his body and stand on her own feet but he pulled her close, staring down at her. “Yer okay though… Right?”

“Better than okay, actually. I feel happier and free now. More free than I’ve felt in a long time. I had to come here because I missed you and it was driving me insane.” Alexandra admitted it shyly as her gaze settled on the stone tiled floor. Pete tilted her chin up, staring down at her intently. “Did y’ come here for me?”

“I did.”

The smile came before he could stop it and he leaned in, crashing his mouth against hers all over again, slower and deeper. She clung to him and whimpered quietly at the sheer need in the kiss as she asked, “Did you want me to come here for you?”

“ Just want you actually.” Pete admitted quietly, the kiss breaking as the two pulled apart, working to catch their breaths and straighten their disheveled appearances while laughing and staring at each other.

Drew Gulak;

“If that dress got any shorter, you’d be violating several dress codes in the handbook.” Drew’s gaze roamed over her body and Carmen fumed, looking up at him. Naturally, rather than spare her a compliment, he had to point out something she was doing wrong.

It felt like no matter what she did, Drew Gulak was going to find fault with it. The man was overbearing. The fact that he was also her biggest temptation went without saying. She preferred not to think about it, if she had to be perfectly honest.

“Oh? And what if I told you the higher ups like these dresses? I mean they must because this is what I’m told to put on every single time I have to do a segment or walk you to the ring, asshole.” Carmen stood straighter, her gaze still only meeting the center of Drew’s chest. She jabbed her finger into it, biting her lip when she felt the muscles beneath his bare skin ripple at the touch. Tilting her gaze slightly, she met his gaze and smirked. “ Tony also likes these dresses.”

“Tony’s easily amused and easily bored, as well.” Drew fumed at the remark. Every single time he was around Carmen, he felt his grip on his self control slip just a little more. Lately, being around her for any length of time was a challenge to his fading self control of epic proportions.

Especially when she made her little comments. Or when she openly flirted with their co workers. Or wore the revealing outfits and the little heels she seemed to enjoy wearing to flaunt her body to pretty much any man with eyes.

It was driving him fucking insane.

She raised her hand and Drew caught it with his hand around her wrist. He stepped closer and stared down at her intently. Carmen stepped closer, glaring up at him. “You’re an overbearing, uptight…” her words were cut off at Drew loosening his grip on her hand, letting his own hand boldly venture down to her ass, squeezing it hard through the fabric of her dress as he crushed her against him and buried his mouth in her mouth deep and mumbled simply, “Brat.”

Carmen started off with every intention of shoving him away, but she wound up gripping his tie and raising herself to tiptoe, one of her legs raising to his hip and his hand moving down to grip her thigh. She gasped into the deepening kiss when not only did he bite her lower lip, but she rubbed right against him and felt the way he was straining at his trousers already. “You do this on purpose. Now you know what you do to me.” Drew stated as his fingers slid through her hair and snagged in the ends, hand resting across the back of her neck as Carmen felt her lips swelling under the impact of the kiss he gave. “What I’m struggling to figure out is why. I know you’re not interested in Tony or any of the others.” the kiss broke and he stared her down, firm gaze as he waited on her answer.

Carmen’s mouth opened and closed as she tried to come up with something, with anything other than the honest to God truth.

“I.. Oh fuck you.” Carmen grabbed hold of his tie, pulling his mouth back down to her own as she gave back a kiss with twice as much force and passion as the one he’d pulled her into. When she rubbed against him, Drew groaned, his lips parting, her tongue slipping between them, massaging his tongue.

Note: This got a bit more…intense ? Than I anticipated. It was kinda short so I threw in a little something in there to make it longer, I hope it isn’t bad😬.

Summary: You’re the newest Diva on the roster and an underdog at that, but that doesn’t stop Chads persistent flirting with you.

You fluttered your eyes open once the women applying your eyeliner gave you the okay. You thanked her as you looked at yourself in the mirror, admiring your flawless face before you walked out of makeup. You thought about how long you had wanted to be a WWE Diva and how hard the journey was as you made your way towards the gorilla. It was all worth it. You thought as you looked down at your revealing ring gear before you looked up and smiled at superstars that you had watched when you were younger. “Good luck Y/N.” The ever positive Bayley said with a smile as she passed you. The girl was one of your only supporters and truly believed in you unlike the rest of the roster and WWE Universe. You turned your head back to loom at her with a grin of your own, “Thanks Bayley.” You turned back to look where you were going but quickly bumped into a hard chest making you take a few wobbly steps back and shake your head lightly. “Sorry.” A deep voice apologized making you look at the guy you had bumped into and his friend next to him. The one you had bumped into had nice caramel skin and kind eyes, but it was his friend that caught your attention. You dragged your eyes over him appreciatively, his playful eyes catching your attention making you hold eye contact with him until you remembered his friend had said something. “Oh no, it was my fault completely.” You smiled a bit embarrassed. “Let’s say it was both our faults.” The somewhat familiar man smiled making you nod with a grin of your own. “Well, I have to go… but sorry again for bumping into you.” You took one last look at the other guy and jogged off down the hall, thoughts revolving around the gorgeous man you just encountered.

Chads P.O.V

“Who was that?” I asked and looked after the girl who had just bumped into Jason with curious eyes. “I think her name’s Y/N, she’s new.” Jason shrugged seemingly unaffected by the stunning girl. I looked at him and he groaned while shaking his head “What?” I asked with a raised brow. “C’mon man, I know that look.” He scoffed as we continued towards catering, his words prompting me to send him a confused look. “That’s the look you get when you want a girl. She’s the underdog man, you could do better.” He said knowingly once he caught a look at my face. “There may not be such thing as better.” I said only half joking as we walked into catering.

Your P.O.V

You hopped in your spot hyping yourself up as you waited for your theme to hit, mentally preparing yourself for the crowds reaction to you. You heard the familiar start of the song and waited a few seconds before strutting out from backstage. As you walked down the ramp you smiled and tried to tune out the booing crowd that overpowered the few people cheering you on. It seemed like hours had gone by once you made it into the ring and your music stopped, when in reality it was only seconds. You let a discreet sigh of relief when Becky’s music hit and the crowd turned their attention to her, more than happy to cheer on the Irish lass kicker. You watched as she worked the crowd and seemed to come alive as they cheered for her, wishing that it could be you they cheered for. Once the redhead made her way into the ring her eyes wandered down you, sizing you up before shaking her head and scoffing, making you clench your jaw but continue to stretch. 

Throughout the match the crowd would cheer whenever Becky had the upper hand but would boo whenever you managed to hit the Irish girl with a move. You fought with everything you had just for the possibility that if you beat Becky people would start to believe in you. But you had been through almost everything Becky had and it was taking its toll on you. You hit the canvas roughly and attempted to catch your breath but the redhead quickly went for the pin. Time seemed to slow down as the official dropped to his knees to make the count. You took in the crowd and saw how everyone was standing and smiling for Becky, that alone was enough to make you throw away what little effort you had left. You heard the official make the second count and that was when you saw a little girl on her dads shoulders wearing one of your shirts and booing with her thumbs down. You realized that even though you were the underdog you still had people that supported you, and with that you managed to kick out just before the official brought his hand to the canvas for the third time. Becky screamed in frustration and the crowd yelled in shock as you managed to roll yourself towards the ropes and slowly pull yourself up. You heard Becky let out an angry battle cry from behind you and you turned quickly, just managing to duck under her in coming fist. She bounced off the ropes and rushed towards you but you managed to flip her over you and cover her, the official dropping down to count. You knew the lass kicker wasn’t expecting your attack and neither were you, but you held your breath as you felt Becky struggling to lift her shoulders. The officials hand hit the canvas for the third time and you quickly rolled off of Becky who was seething with anger as the crowd cheered loudly. You looked for the girl in the crowd again and once you found her you saw she was smiling and cheering loudly, the smile on her face only growing when you blew a kiss in her direction. You slid out of the ring as your music started and you were announced the winner. “This is not over!” You were halfway up the ramp when you heard Becky yell to you. Turning back to face her you saw her leaning over the top rope with a red angry face, you shook your head at her and simply continued up the ramp making her screech and stomp around the ring behind you. Once you made your way backstage you were stared at by many superstars, some looking at you impressed, annoyed, or shocked. You were starting to blush at all the attention when you were suddenly wrapped in a tight hug. Bayley tightened her grip on you and you quickly hugged back. “You were amazing!” You heard your friend say happily into your shoulder making you giggle and thank her. Before you pulled away you made eye contact with the attractive man you had encountered earlier. You saw him mouth congratulations to you making you smile and blush bashfully, Bayley then pulled away and saw your blushing face. She turned around and saw who you were looking at before turning back to you and wiggling her eyebrows. “You are coming with me.” She gripped your hand tightly and dragged you towards the women’s locker room. “What was that whole thing with Chad Gable?” She interrogated you once the door was shut and she knew no one was in there. “That’s his name?” You asked with a small smile as you finally knew his name. “Yeah, he’s part of American Alpha.” Bayley raised her brows and gave you a look. “I knew he looked familiar.” You sighed with wide eyes when you realized he was apart of your favourite tag team. “How didn’t I recongize him?” You asked yourself in disbelief. “You were probably just nervous about your match.” Bayley took it upon herself to answer your question with a shrug.

It had been a few months and after your win over Becky things had not gotten better. You suffered a series of losses, only winning the odd match every once in a while. You were still looked at as the underdog if the womens division, but you didn’t get booed as much as you used to which relieved you. But one thing had gotten much better in those months, and that was your encounters with Chad Gable. The one half of American Alpha had taken to flirting with you whenever he had a chance. Whether it was a wink and one liner as he passed you or a suggestive conversation accompanied by a flirtatious brush of his fingers against your cheek he always managed to make you blush as you returned his advances. Even though you flirted back you couldn’t help but have your doubts about whether or not Chad actually had feelings for you. Bayley assured you that your doubts were stupid and that even though you were the underdog Chad still definitely had a thing for you. 

“Some moves you get there cutie.” You heard a teasing voice say from behind you making you stop your goofy dance routine you were improvising as you waited for your match to begin. Spinning around to face the smirking wrestler you managed to smirk back and curtsy without blushing. “Thank you, I worked really hard on it.” You took a few steps closer to him until you were a couple feet away from him. “I’m sure you did.” His voice got lower as he stepped closer to you, your nose almost touching his hard chest. “Mmm Mr. Gable what do you think you’re doing?” You teased with a smirk of your own. “Nothing cutie.” He grinned and went to brush a strand out of your face but you quickly spun away from him. “You don’t get to distract me before my match. I’m already the underdog as it is, I don’t need you to give me another reason to lose.” You grinned at the pout on his face directed at the distance between the two of you. “What reason would I give you to lose darling?” He asked knowingly as his eyes shined playfully. “Hmm, maybe I’d be distracted.” You grinned at him making him wiggle his brows suggestively. “What about me would distract you huh?” He smiled and caught his lower lip in his teeth making your eyes travel to his mouth before moving back to his eyes. “Your hair and the fact that I’m extremely jealous of it.” You ruined the suggestive mood of the conversation with one sentence, grinning when his face dropped slightly. “Your match isn’t until later anyways. You’re on after Jason and I.” He smiled and raised his brows at you making you pull a face at him. “Yeah well you better win, it would be embarrassing if you lost.” You tried to hold in your laughter at his face. “What do I get if I win?” The flirty smirk was back and he took two large steps to erase the space between you two. “Loud cheers and another win under your belt.” You suggested knowing it wasn’t the answer he won. “Not what I was thinking of cutie.” His tongue peeked out to drag along his lower lip before disappearing back into his mouth. “Well what were you thinking of?” You asked innocently making him shake his head and chuckle at you before placing his hands under your jaw, looking deeply into your Y/E/C eyes. “You know what I was thinking.” His mischievous smile grew when he saw you start to smile up at him. “Well you’ll just have to win if you wanna figure out if I do.” You pushed yourself onto your tip toes and pulled his head down low enough so that you could quickly kiss the tip of his nose before turning and strutting away from the slightly flustered boy. 

Chads P.O.V

“You ready?” Jason came up to me a minute after Y/N had walked away. “We gotta win man.” I turned to him and nodded along with my sentence making him raise his brow. “Is there something I don’t know or…” Jason wondered why I needed us to win the match as we headed towards the gorilla. “You don’t even know the half of it.”

I strained against Randy Orton, desperately trying to keep his shoulders against the canvas for the three count. Once I saw the official hit his hand down onto the canvas for the third time I shot up and cheered loudly as Jason ran into the ring to stand next to me. As our hands were being held in the air Y/Ns familiar theme started and my already huge smile seemed to grow as I saw her walk around the corner. Her eyes were locked on me and I couldn’t look away from her, everything about her captivating me. Before I knew it she was standing a few inches away from me, looking up at me with her hypnotic doe eyes that always took my breath away. “Well I won cutie. What’s my prize?” I asked with a flirtatious grin on my face. “You know what it is. Come and take it.” She challenged me and jutted her hip out.

Your P.O.V

You grinned at Chads reaction to your invitation, his eyes widened and his adams apple bobbed in his throat. “Don’t chicken out now Gable.” Your sentence seemed to push him over the edge. He quickly stumbled forward and pressed his mouth against yours, leaning forward making you bend your back a bit. You kissed back desperately and moved your hands to tangle into his long hair as his hands rested on your cheeks holding you close to him. The feeling of his lips against yours made you smile into the kiss and never want to pull away. You giggled when he tugged on your lower lip as he pulled away, your reaction making him chuckle lightly as well. “What took you so long to do that?” You teased him as you looked into his joyful eyes. “I don’t know cutie, I don’t know.” Chad was preoccupied by rubbing his thumbs against your soft cheeks and memorizing your stunning face. Your cheeks started to burn as you realized that the crowd was cheering loudly and all the cameras were focused on your intimate moment with Chad. “If I get that every time I win a match, I’ll never lose baby.” His flirty comment distracted you from all the attention and it also made your cheeks turn a brighter shade of red. “Shut up you idiot.” You laughed and pushed his chest so that he took a few steps back. “Well damn.” You heard Jason say making you turn to face the other half of American Alpha and stick your tongue out. “Put that tongue back in your mouth before Gable eats it.” Jason pointed a finger at you, his words making your jaw drop and Chad laugh. “Don’t be jealous Jason.” Chad wrapped a large arm around you making you cringe as you felt his sweat against your bare skin. “Hands off until you shower big man.” You pushed his arm off of you and headed out of the ring. You walked up the ramp to your music, waving and smiling at the crowd while a shocked Chad stayed in the ring with Jason. “I’m- I’m gonna… I’m just gonna…” Chad stuttered and gestured to you and himself making his friend laugh at his antics. “Go get your girl.” Jason pushed Chad towards the ropes making Chad smile and thank Jason as you slipped out of the ring. “Wait up cutie!” He yelled as he ran after making you smirk to yourself happily, turning quickly to wink at him before continuing backstage. You heard his frantic footsteps chasing after you as you headed down the hall, making sure there was an obvious swing in your hips. You paused outside a janitors closet, waiting for Chad to come sprinting around the corner. A second later he didn’t disappoint as he almost ran past you, backtracking a few steps so that he stood in front of you. You grinned at him before grabbing him by his forearm and dragging him into the small space. Once the door shut behind him you surged forward, wrapping your arms around his neck and kissing him eagerly. He laughed against your kiss but quickly pushed you back until you hit the wall roughly. “I didn’t even shower.” He laughed always cocky making you pull away just long enough for tell him to shut up before you kissed him again, your teeth clashing against each others. His rough hands moved to your bottom pulling you up suddenly making you gasp, the noise prompting a groan from Chad. He pulled away from the intense kiss to start trailing gentle nibbles up and down your neck. Little kisses accompanied the bites that would leave small red marks in their wake. You shivered and tensed, tugging his hair lightly when he reached the crook of your neck, your reaction making him smirk into your tender skin before paying extra attention to that spot. You shifted slightly and heard Chad grunt as the rough fabric of your jeans created friction against the thin spandex that he wore in the ring. You quickly pulled his face back to yours, the quick view you got of his wide smile making your stomach flutter with butterflies. Your fingers were tangled in his soft hair when his tongue slipped into your mouth, you easily letting him take over. You shifted on purpose, hoping to get the same reaction out of Chad and he did not disappoint you. You threw your head back when he turned his attention back to your neck, licking a stripe down your throat tugging a quiet moan from your mouth. Just as he moved a hand up your shirt you heard a chuckle from outside the door, making you and Chad both freeze. You shot Chad a worried look which he returned before he gently set you down. You silently moved toward the door and pressed your ear against the wood, attempting to hear who was outside. You knew who it was right away and you shot Chad an annoyed look before pulling the door open quickly. Jason and Dolph Ziggler stumbled forward, falling into the already tight space. “We’ve been caught.” Dolph whispered to Jason. “Abort mission!” Jason whispered yelled before the two scrambled up and started running away. “Yeah you better run!” Chad yelled after them making the pair squeal like children and run faster. You laughed and expected Chad to run after them but instead he pushed you back into the closet with a big smirk. “Now where were we?” He asked getting closer to you. “Right here.” You mumbled quickly before letting him pull you against him.
