Leviticus 21:7 prohibits marriage between a kohen and certain classes of women. According to rabbinic law, these classes include divorcees, non-Jews, converts (who were previously non-Jews), and women who have previously engaged in certain forbidden sexual relationships (even if involuntary, i.e. rape). If a kohen did have relations with any of these women, the offspring are described as "profaned" (male: challal, female: challalah); their status is nearly identical to a normal Jew, while the challalah herself is one of the categories which a kohen may not marry.
Rape poses an especially poignant problem. The pain experienced by the families of kohanim who were required to divorce their wives as the result of the rapes accompanying the capture of Jerusalem is alluded to in this Mishnah:
If a woman were imprisoned by non-Jews concerning money affairs, she is permitted to her husband, but if for some capital offense, she is forbidden to her husband. If a town were overcome by besieging troops, all women of priestly stock found in it are ineligible [to be married to priests or to remain married to priests], but if they had witnesses, even a male or female slave, these may be believed. But no man may be believed for himself. Rabbi Zechariah ben Hakatsab said, "By this Temple, her hand did not stir from my hand from the time the non-Jews entered Jerusalem until they went out." They said to him: No man may give evidence of himself.
Conservative Judaism has issued an emergency takanah (rabbinical edict) temporarily suspending the application of the rules in their entirety, on the grounds that the high intermarriage rate threatens the survival of Judaism, and hence that any marriage between Jews is welcomed. The takanah declares that the offspring of such marriages are to be regarded as kohanim.

NEWS - We must bring Macron down
After weeks of targeted strikes, French workers launch an indefinite strike against pension reforms. French President Emmanuel Macron refuses to alter his plans to reform the country's beloved pension system. In an effort to compel his hand last week, unions across France raised the stakes and launched an indefinite strike.
The French government has so far refused to change course despite weeks of targeted strikes by workers against President Emmanuel Macron's plans to raise the national retirement age and reform the country's beloved pension system. For that reason associations across various enterprises raised the risk last week, sending off an endless strike until laborers' requests are met. "We have no choice, we must make Macron back down, make the employers back down," said Eric Challal of the Solidaires Unitaires Démocratiques (SUD) Railway Union. We have this chance to fight together as workers because wages are too low, prices are skyrocketing, the threat of war is real, and there is no shortage of money in this society. Brandon Jourdan, a video journalist and contributor to TRNN, covers the most recent escalation of strike actions in France from the streets of Paris.
This video is part of a special Workers of the World series that looks at the crisis with Europe's high cost of living.
Brandon Jourdan, the storyteller: The ongoing strike wave in France against President Emmanuel Macron's pension reforms entered a new phase on March 7, 2023. The government claimed that 1.28 million people participated in strikes, while the unions estimated that 3.5 million people took part in the largest single day of action in decades. The sixth day of national strikes in two months was the most extensive according to either estimate. After the main day of action, tactics have escalated toward continuous strikes in many key sectors because the national strikes have not prevented pension reforms from moving forward.
TotalEnergies: Eric Sellini, General Confederation of Labor (CGT). It is abundantly clear that the government is still carrying out its plan. The presentation was made in the National Assembly; it is now in the Senate. We have the impression that, regardless, Macron is not ready to give up immediately. In this way, that is the reason every one of the associations, and specifically the CGT, we chose to take the preparation up a score and today to check the start of a significant stage as far as preparation which is the start of the ceaseless strike in many organizations the nation over.
Brandon Jourdan (storyteller): A general assembly of railway workers at Gare du Nord was held prior to the main rally in Paris to decide whether or not to continue their strike beyond March 7.
SUD Railway Union's Eric Challal, speaking before the assembly: We haven't seen the strength of workers on this scale in a long time. We also know that because we have all witnessed what transpired in Parliament and the Senate, as well as all of the parliamentary motion pictures, we should not anticipate anything different. A new phase of the movement—the strike—the continuous strike—begins here.
Therefore, I propose that we continue the strike. We accomplished this by holding a general assembly here at 11:00 a.m. Therefore, the general assembly will be reconvened and the strike will continue through tomorrow, the eighth, at 11:00 a.m. https://shazam2-onlinsubtitrat.statuspage.io/ https://shazam2-online-subtitrat-2023.statuspage.io/ https://shazam2-filmulonline-2023.statuspage.io/ https://filmul-shazam2-furyofthegods-online-subtitrat.statuspage.io/ https://scream6-onlinesubtitrat-1080p.statuspage.io/ https://screamvi-onlinesubtitrat-2023.statuspage.io/ https://urmariti-scream6-filmulonline.statuspage.io/ https://filme-scream6-2023.statuspage.io/ https://johnwickcapitolul4-onlinesubtitrat2023.statuspage.io/ https://filmul-johnwickcapitolul4-1080p.statuspage.io/ https://johnwickcapitolul4-filmonline-2023.statuspage.io/ https://vezi-johnwickcapitolul4-filmhd-2023.statuspage.io/ https://creediii-filmulonlinesubtitrat-2023.statuspage.io/ https://filmul-creed3-2023-onlinesubtitrat.statuspage.io/ https://urmariti-creed3-hd-2023.statuspage.io/ https://creediii-filmhd2023-onlinesubtitrat.statuspage.io/ https://vezi-ramon-2023-filmonline-1080p.statuspage.io/ https://filmul-ramon-filmonlineromana-1080p.statuspage.io/ https://urmariti-ramon-hd2023.statuspage.io/ https://ramon-filmhd2023-onlinesubtitrat.statuspage.io/ https://vezi-theperfectescape-filmonline-hd1080p.statuspage.io/ https://filmul-theperfectescape-filmonline2023.statuspage.io/ https://urmariti-theperfectescape-hd2023.statuspage.io/ https://theperfectescape-filmhd2023-onlinesubtitrat.statuspage.io/ https://vezi-rominavtm-filmonlinehd1080p.statuspage.io/ https://filmul-rominavtm-onlinesubtoitrat2023.statuspage.io/ https://urmariti-rominavtm-hd2023.statuspage.io/ https://rominavtm-filmhd2023-onlinesubtitrat.statuspage.io/ https://filmul2023-shazam2-onlinesubtitrat.statuspage.io/ https://newsworld-223.blogspot.com/2023/03/we-must-bring-macron-down.html https://fnw-2023.blogspot.com/2023/03/fnw.html https://hutananak35.medium.com/we-must-bring-macron-down-2023-1e146aa66581 https://groups.google.com/g/world-football-news-2022/c/noZj-PlVTOE

we’re meant to humble ourselves before the eternal truth of Love.
A point seen in Today’s reading of the Scriptures from the New Testament book of Luke with chapter 14:
One time when Jesus went for a Sabbath meal with one of the top leaders of the Pharisees, all the guests had their eyes on him, watching his every move. Right before him there was a man hugely swollen in his joints. So Jesus asked the religion scholars and Pharisees present, “Is it permitted to heal on the Sabbath? Yes or no?”
They were silent. So he took the man, healed him, and sent him on his way. Then he said, “Is there anyone here who, if a child or animal fell down a well, wouldn’t rush to pull him out immediately, not asking whether or not it was the Sabbath?” They were stumped. There was nothing they could say to that.
He went on to tell a story to the guests around the table. Noticing how each had tried to elbow into the place of honor, he said, “When someone invites you to dinner, don’t take the place of honor. Somebody more important than you might have been invited by the host. Then he’ll come and call out in front of everybody, ‘You’re in the wrong place. The place of honor belongs to this man.’ Embarrassed, you’ll have to make your way to the very last table, the only place left.
“When you’re invited to dinner, go and sit at the last place. Then when the host comes he may very well say, ‘Friend, come up to the front.’ That will give the dinner guests something to talk about! What I’m saying is, If you walk around all high and mighty, you’re going to end up flat on your face. But if you’re content to be simply yourself, you will become more than yourself.”
Then he turned to the host. “The next time you put on a dinner, don’t just invite your friends and family and rich neighbors, the kind of people who will return the favor. Invite some people who never get invited out, the misfits from the wrong side of the tracks. You’ll be—and experience—a blessing. They won’t be able to return the favor, but the favor will be returned—oh, how it will be returned!—at the resurrection of God’s people.”
That triggered a response from one of the guests: “How fortunate the one who gets to eat dinner in God’s kingdom!”
Jesus followed up. “Yes. For there was once a man who threw a great dinner party and invited many. When it was time for dinner, he sent out his servant to the invited guests, saying, ‘Come on in; the food’s on the table.’
“Then they all began to beg off, one after another making excuses. The first said, ‘I bought a piece of property and need to look it over. Send my regrets.’
“Another said, ‘I just bought five teams of oxen, and I really need to check them out. Send my regrets.’
“And yet another said, ‘I just got married and need to get home to my wife.’
“The servant went back and told the master what had happened. He was outraged and told the servant, ‘Quickly, get out into the city streets and alleys. Collect all who look like they need a square meal, all the misfits and homeless and down-and-out you can lay your hands on, and bring them here.’
“The servant reported back, ‘Master, I did what you commanded—and there’s still room.’
“The master said, ‘Then go to the country roads. Whoever you find, drag them in. I want my house full! Let me tell you, not one of those originally invited is going to get so much as a bite at my dinner party.’”
One day when large groups of people were walking along with him, Jesus turned and told them, “Anyone who comes to me but refuses to let go of father, mother, spouse, children, brothers, sisters—yes, even one’s own self!—can’t be my disciple. Anyone who won’t shoulder his own cross and follow behind me can’t be my disciple.
“Is there anyone here who, planning to build a new house, doesn’t first sit down and figure the cost so you’ll know if you can complete it? If you only get the foundation laid and then run out of money, you’re going to look pretty foolish. Everyone passing by will poke fun at you: ‘He started something he couldn’t finish.’
“Or can you imagine a king going into battle against another king without first deciding whether it is possible with his ten thousand troops to face the twenty thousand troops of the other? And if he decides he can’t, won’t he send an emissary and work out a truce?
“Simply put, if you’re not willing to take what is dearest to you, whether plans or people, and kiss it good-bye, you can’t be my disciple.
“Salt is excellent. But if the salt goes flat, it’s useless, good for nothing.
“Are you listening to this? Really listening?”
The Book of Luke, Chapter 14 (The Message)
and the closing line in The Voice:
“Don’t just listen to My words here. Get the deeper meaning.”
Today’s paired chapter of the Testaments is the 22nd chapter of the book of Job:
Eliphaz the Temanite made suggestions to Job.
Eliphaz: Can a strong person be of any use to God?
How about one who is wise? Can he help himself?
Is the Highest One made happy if you are righteous?
Does He profit from your perfect ways?
Do you really think He takes you to task because you revere Him too much?
Is this why He brings allegations against you?
Is it not possible that you are, in fact, great with wickedness
and endless in your wrongdoing?
When your relatives came to you needing money,
for no good reason you took their clothes for collateral
and left them naked.
You have never given so much as a cup of water to the thirsty
or a crumb to the hungry.
You must think only the powerful and privileged possess the land
and can live in it any way they wish.
You have sent away widows who were wanting,
and you have obliterated the only support of orphans.
This is why you are surrounded by snares,
why you are overcome with dreadful fears,
Why you’re in the dark, without a glimmer to help you see,
sunk beneath the rush of flooding water.
Is not God up there at the crown of the highest arc of heaven?
And the highest stars!
See how lofty they are!
But you—you say, “What does God know?
Can He send His judgments through such thick darkness?
Those clouds are just a veil for Him so He does not have to look upon us
while He saunters, oblivious, through the chambers of the sky.”
Job, are you now guardian of the ancient road
where the wicked have traveled?
The wicked, who are captured
and taken off before their time,
their foundations washed out by a flooded river,
They are the ones who tell God, “Leave us be.”
They say, “What can the Highest One do to us?”
How are they repaid for their insolence?
You say, “He stuffs their homes with goodness,”
Then you shake your head and mutter,
“Far be it from me to understand the thoughts and plans of the wicked.”
The righteous would look upon their ruin and laugh for delight;
the innocent would taunt
By saying, “Sure enough, our enemies have gone to their annihilation,
and what they’ve left behind feeds a hungry fire.”
Now be of use to God;
be at peace with Him,
and goodness will return to your life.
Receive instruction directly from His lips,
and make His words a part of you.
If you return to the Highest One,
you will be restored;
if you banish the evil from your tents,
And consider your gold as common as earth’s dust
and Ophir’s refined gold as plentiful as stones in rock-lined streams,
Then your true treasure will be the Highest One—
worth more than gold and silver beyond measure.
For then, at last, you will find pleasure in the Highest One,
and you will finally be able to show Him your face.
When you approach Him, He will listen;
you will make good on your promises to Him.
You will pronounce something to be,
and He will make it so;
light will break out across all of your paths.
God will humble, but you say, “Raise them up.”
He will save the downcast.
He will even consent to deliver those who are not innocent
through the purity of your then-washed-clean hands.
The Book of Job, Chapter 22 (The Voice)
my personal reading of the Scriptures for Thursday, April 29 of 2021 with a paired chapter from each Testament of the Bible along with Today’s Proverbs and Psalms
A post by John Parsons that looks at the desires of the heart:
"Your heavenly Father knows what you need before you ask him" (Matt. 6:8). We sometimes pray for what we think we need but overlook what we really need. For instance, we may pray for health, material blessing, and opportunity, but what we really need is the ability to trust, the willingness to surrender our lives to God without qualification, and the grace to see the good in others and not their faults. These needs are just as real as our need for food and clothing, since apart from grace to extend empathy and love toward others, we will never be truly happy. Love "overlooks" a multitude of sins; it looks beyond the present moment to see with compassion, kindness, and empathy... What we really need, then, is to be after God's own heart, to see other people as God sees them, and to overlook matters that offend or feed our sense of pride. This is what we truly need, and therefore we trust that the Lord our God mercifully "decodes" our apparent petitions to express what the Spirit of God groans on our behalf (Rom. 8:26).
The heart sighs: "For I am poor and needy, and my heart is wounded within me" (Psalm 109:22).
The word translated as “wounded” is challal (חָלַל), meaning “stricken, pierced, polluted, defiled, or brokenhearted.” This is the condition of heart that is prerequisite for doing real business with heaven. “God has not been trying an experiment on my faith or love in order to find out their quality. He knew it already. It was I who didn't. In this trial He makes us occupy the dock, the witness box, and the bench all at once. He always knew that my temple was a house of cards. His only way of making me realize the fact was to knock it down.... I need Christ, not something that resembles Him.” (C.S. Lewis: A Grief Observed) [Hebrew for Christians]

Today’s message from the Institute for Creation Research
April 29, 2021
God Is Omniscient
“Known unto God are all his works from the beginning of the world.” (Acts 15:18)
Although the concept of absolute knowledge is general to almost all ideas of God, it is perhaps the most difficult for any human being to understand. Most of us work very hard to obtain knowledge and, in most cases, even harder to retain it. The practical issue with this teaching is we forget that God does not forget!
“The LORD looketh from heaven; he beholdeth all the sons of men. From the place of his habitation he looketh upon all the inhabitants of the earth. He fashioneth their hearts alike; he considereth all their works” (Psalm 33:13-15). Deep in the heart of every man is the fear that God’s omniscience is very real, but we spend much of our waking hours attempting to override that concern.
Yet, the Scriptures are absolutely clear. “And I saw the dead, small and great, stand before God; and the books were opened:...and the dead were judged out of those things which were written in the books, according to their works” (Revelation 20:12). “But I say unto you, That every idle word that men shall speak, they shall give account thereof in the day of judgment” (Matthew 12:36).
Ah, but the wonderful and encouraging side of God’s omniscience is that He does know. “O LORD, thou hast searched me, and known me. Thou knowest my downsitting and mine uprising, thou understandest my thought afar off. Thou compassest my path and my lying down, and art acquainted with all my ways. For there is not a word in my tongue, but, lo, O LORD, thou knowest it altogether” (Psalm 139:1-4).
With that kind of knowledge, it is no wonder that “my God shall supply all your need according to his riches in glory by Christ Jesus” (Philippians 4:19). HMM III

On adore.

Say ‘High’ to Kasol.
One of the most well hidden and well known (among the people who know what you get there) places in Himachal Pradesh, Kasol is what they call a 'Stoners Paradise'. The place is situated in the Parvati Valley with the river Parvati flowing right beside.
Throw on your sneakers and hike to the villages of Chalal, Tosh and Malana.
For a feel of the rural life in these regions, visit Malana or Tosh.
Tosh, a village at the far end of Parvati Valley in Himachal Pradesh. The village of Tosh is situated at a height of 7874 feet above sea-level. A hippie’s ultimate destination.
An isolated village 21 kms from Kasol, Malana is still untouched by modern lifestyle. One of the oldest democracies of the world, Malana people claim that they are descendants of Alexander’s army, but the claim is highly debatable. Their descent however isn’t what makes this place so popular. It’s the Malana cream – premium hashish which is popular among Israelis, Europeans and Indian youth visiting Kasol. A must visit place while you’re on a vacation in this region that not only give you a peaceful time for yourself but will make you feel relaxed & refreshing like never before!
