Occult And Witchcraft Supply
A colleague and friend of mine is opening up his services. I've worked with Baou for several years and I am very fond of his work. He's currently looking for work and is an artisan as well as a Geomancer! Check him out! He opened a Ko-fi and is available for work! See Below the Cut for Details
Copy and Pasted From Ordus Vesperum's Artisans Chat:
" Due to a current lack of work and immediate need to build funds, i am once again letting people know about my divination services, and that my jewelry commissions open for the foreseeable future.
as far as the Divination services, they are as follows:
3 yes/no questions plus any follow-up with my Chamalongos: $5
A Geomantic chart reading for any question with a full breakdown of what each figure means where it appears in the chart: $20
A yearly Geomantic Chart Reading that covers the whole year ahead: $30
As for my Jewelry services, prices vary depending on what you're looking for, but i have a minimum of 10 dollars an hour, and most of my bracelets take an hour or so to make, plus bead prices, and a 15% overhead to cover wire, fixings, and any material loss due to beads breaking and the like.
Prayer Cord times vary, and my prayer cords do not come blessed, that is something you will have to do yourself, i also do not oil them, but if you know the blend or can point me to it, i will provide a bottle of the oil blend for you to charge and complete the cord yourself.
(this is mainly because i don't work with many demons, and i'd rather be respectful than barge in and ask for blessings of an entity i've never interacted with.)
Same goes for Malas, though these often take up to 4 hours, and have a lot more beads.
a (rather incomprehensive) portfolio of my work can be seen here "

All About Muertos

My double "Yes!" answer. Notice the shape the chamalongos are in. Kinda looks like a "Y." Lol! Cool. The chamalongos are in the "Yes, with blessings!" being all light sides up.
So this is about muertos. What do I know? A lot, with objective and subjective opinions and truths. I'm not one who believes much in "karma" and other New Age twattery. But I've figured out things out on my own. I encourage others to do this too. Challenge me even.
The muertos are very interesting topic. But they are also controversial, mostly because ppl don't understand them or their ways. I'm here to shed some light on misunderstood aspects of muertos and their behaviors, motivations, and sometimes odd things that they do. These are listed here in no order because its difficult to do so. My answers may surprise you.
When you have a close person to you on their deathbed, and even if they are unconscious ' they do hear you and are aware of your presence. Even if they have dementia - it doesn't matter. Talk to them normally!! Fit in as much as you can. They will remember!! Hold their hand, show love in your grip. I talked to my dad, who had advanced dementia and C. Diff, and I gripped his hand, looked in his eyes, and spoke of memories. Yes! Do this! My brother said he was busy talking to ghosts. 😢 Sure miss dad.
Muertos stay loyal. The most important ppl to muertos is their family, number one - then, their Muertera/o/ist (practitioner of Muerteria). Muertos are also predictable, because they are still human. My muerto makes his rounds. I get small visits daily, but big and loud ones every month, sometimes every other month. Rodolfo likes to assert himself in certain telltale ways. I talk about Rodolfo and his usual antics in this blog a lot. Loves making noise!
You can be dead, but not "crossed over." There are muertos that have passed, but don't accept their death or don't know that they have died, or possibly have suffered the worst - a violent, and/or unexpected death. My mother did not accept her death until last year. She died in 2006. It was because she wouldn't accept some trauma from her life - she had to let it go. Very common with muertos, but most ppl aren't so headstrong that they won't let things go from their life. Most do this fine, because Elevation and Freedom (Heaven) is much more tempting.
What's Elevation? A series (of Four steps) of stages that a muerto goes through to to perfect themselves before they can enter the beautiful light of Freedom (Heaven). Freedom is different than a Christian view of Heaven. Its a beautiful place of retirement where you do as you like. Many strive for further perfection of their souls. Others live their lives like when alive. If the muerto had terrible vices while alive, these were erased. No vices exist in Freedom. If someone was a hatchet murderer, they DO NOT make it to Freedom. They go to a special place in the Grode. I mentioned that place entries ago. Its a holding place for all muertos, where one side is for regular muertos, then the wrongdoing muertos go to another side of the Grode. If you are especially bad, there's a special hole for you known as The Peak.
How about ghost hunting? EMF's? Paranormal Phenomena? Read here carefully. The ghost hunting thing was a fad. Pls, don't do it out of respect of the muertos! For them, it makes them upset - they get jolted, wired, anxious - that's why they gave phenomena!! And like I said in my "All About Graveyards" post - I'll repeat: Muertos hate EMF, they despise it! It is akin to a very loud bass speaker in the ear! Muertos love anything that gets RID of EMF like Orgonite and Shungite. I have an Orgonite pyramid on my muerto, Rodolfo's altar. He loves it, almost as much as my Baston de Muerto!
What About Wandering Spirits & Repeat Hauntings? Leave those alone. Let the muerto wander and the repeat, repeat. You don't need to "heal" it or "solve" it. If the muertos bother you, I recommend "Espanta Muerto" plant or my mixture, "Espanta Espiritu." I give it out for absolutely no cost but give me a good background story! 😊
What about Ouija boards? I'm a mixed bag. While I see them as a functional divination device to perform necromancy, I also think that they are a hoot when your a kid. It was my first ever occult object that I used with my best friend. It was a very long time ago...Madonna was in her "Like A Prayer" phase and I despised her, rather listening to The Cure's Lovesong. Around the same time...I didn't have cable television! Lol! Good times! Anyways Ouija boards are best prepared for necromancy work. I may post a ritual on how to prep a Ouija! Like & reblog if I should! 💖
Sex and muertos - very heated discussion: I can't remember but I think my late friend Leilah Wendell may have touched on this controversial subject. My view is very open-minded. Though this will not be in my book. So, can you naughty with your muerto? It is *mentally* possible. This wouldn't be too hard, a visualization with stimuli. Spiritually, I also suppose so. But physically, impossible. It would have be disinterment and necrophilia. Those who are in Muerteria are very against this. Any crime against the muertos is shame on your spirit and soul.
Questions
Does my loved one watch over me? Be specific. But yes, they watch in a detached way...BUT arrive very quickly when something may be happening or will happen to you!
When I see certain times on the clock (like 11:11) is it muertos? It is likely them telling you to get off of your arse and do it! Its NOT just angels with this whole timing gig. Its muertos, too.
Oh, do muertos watch me in the shower or when dressing? Or sex? No, unless they are creeps in life . Really though - do ppl watch you dress or shower normally? Doubtful. Muertos have other shit to do. Like elevate!
Do the muertos hear me pray? Yes, of course they do.
What is a good prayer for the muertos? Try Psalm 23, a standard. My muerto also loves Psalm 91 - a comforting and protective psalm. I never heard of this one until Rodolfo told me to look it up. He also likes Psalm 52, but I think that one is his personal thing.
Can I ask to see them, without ghost hunting, etc? Yes, you can. Just be clear. Know who, why, when, and where. The 4-W's. You may not see them physically. It takes practice. You can try an ordinary glass hand mirror, a black mirror, or a dark colored bowl of water to see muertos with. Some find that regular surfaces like mirrors and clear vases of water work better - as in my case. his is known as scrying. In Muerteria, we refer to scrying as "Sighting." Sighting is a very big chunk of Muerteria's founding principals and holy rituals. If you do not see them, you probably need an offering. In Muerteria, we use a floral water (rosas, naranja, lavanda - one of these) and alcohol mixture in a very small bowl, plus Wood Aloe or Sandalwood incense. This helps to draw them. You can take the floral water to the graveyard too, to pour at the right edge side of your chosen ones tombstone. To invoke. 😊 Being necromantic is fun sometimes but can spook you off your tits.
You must have shit happening all the time!??! - A Customer. Yes, I do! But it doesn't scare me, its just me saying: "Hi, Rodolfo! What do you need?" Then I figure out if it was him. Sometimes I have to put out more candles and water glasses, with an extra prayer. I get visitors from time to time. No big deal. I've been subject to curses by a couple of other women, but they don't go far. I get a few symptoms, do an egg limpia, and all traces are gone! One woman is a Santera. One is a Witch. These limpias are also attached to energy cleansings with Rodolfo. He is my magical partner. I taught him - long story...we met originally in 2012. I'll have to tell it. 💀
Do you have to be gifted to work with muertos? Well, kinda. It helps a lot. But!! No fear, now! There are ways around it - seriously. Getting really good at divination can help, and heightened empathy as well. Plus access to HTDE (Highly Transmutable Death Energy) helps. What's involved with that? Having human remains related to you - not bought at an online shop. Those have no HTDE. Having ashes of a loved one, or a bone. Not digging anything up. I have my dad with me. He's **charged** with HTDE. I've posted what it is. It is the condensed form of our DNA, the spiral of life, that keeps us alive, holds our power, through generations and is repeated through reproduction. It never dies. So ashes always contain power but it does fade after about 30 years. Sooo....expanding empathy, access to HTDE, or simply Death Energy could help too, it just seems so little for me.
I was really disappointed when I looked up death work here on tumblr. It was very underwhelming. I saw nothing new. Same Greek/Roman stuff, some hoodoo stuff, boring. Trite. I didn't even learn that way. I had Leilah from the beginning. I found her in the 90's, interviewed by Gothic magazines and small press articles. No internet. Little necromancy interest in books by bigger publishers.
What shaped me was my first hand experience with death and Santa Muerte. Not everyone meets her at 8 years old. Not everyone almost gets killed crossing the road. Good thing I was minimally injured, my glasses taking the beating. But that was very expensive for my parents. They could barely afford a new pair. The couple that hit me gave my parents all fraudulent information! At least I was mostly unscathed and I believed that the "Lady Angel" as I described her to my dad, protected me.
Anyways, just a ramble.

Obi Divination. Reading & Set-Up

Obi Divination is a West African system for telling the future. That originated within the traditional Yoruba religion and other New World lineages, such as Santeria. The African form of this work uses kola nuts, but in the Americas, Obi readers use either four pieces of coconut or four cut cowrie shells to answer "yes" or "no" questions for clients.
Obi means "kola nut" in the West African Yoruba language, and within the religion Obi is an Orisha or deific spirit in his own right. Within contemporary hoodoo practice, both initiates and gifted non-initiates of these religions use obi in order to divine answers for clients.

If these materials are not available, in America obi readers also use four coins, after the manner of I Ching readings.
Diloggun Divination is also African in origin, and it too is found among Afro-Caribbean practitioners, but diviners who use this method are initiated priests, and they employ specific religious techniques while performing a fairly complex ritual before and during the casting of the cowrie shells.
A similar form of cast or thrown cowrie or coconut shell divination that originated in the Congo is called Chamalongos. It is practiced in the Americas by initiates of Cuban lineages of the African Diasporic Palo religion.
Obi Divination with Four Shells or Coconuts:
Obi divination is a quick and easy form of fortune-telling. Obi readings entered hoodoo through contact between American spiritual practitioners of conjure and initiates of African Diasporic religions such as Santeria.
Obi will only reply to questions that can be answered "Yes” or “No.” To tell your fortune, the psychic reader will hold the set of four items in his or her hand, pray over your question, then gently toss the items down onto the ground or onto a mat, and look to see how they fell.
Cowries can fall "mouth" side up (open) or "mouth" side down (closed). Coconut pieces can fall white meat side up or dark skin side up. Coins can fall heads up or or tails up.
Four cowrie shells.
Alafia means (Alafia) Answer: Yes. Peace and success in your efforts. It represents all of the light that is available and able to assist you. It is "Yes" with a blessing of peace.
(Etawa) Answer: Maybe/Tenuous. You need to throw the chamalongos a second time to determine if the answer is yes or no. If you get ++++, or ++OO on the second throw the answer is yes. If you get +OOO or OOOO on the second throw, the answer is no. If you get another O+++, the answer is yes, but a weak and tenuous yes. Try another option or question to see if you can get a firmer response.
Etawa is an unstable response, and requires a second throwing of the Obi to ascertain whether the answer is yes or no. If the second toss is Alafia, Etawa or Ejife, the answer is yes.
(Eyeife)Answer: Yes. A firm and hearty yes. Balance, success and complete affirmation.
If the second toss is Okanran or Oyekun then the answer is no. Ejife: 2 mouth-up and 2 mouth-down; or 2 white and 2 dark coconuts; 2 heads and 2 tails. This is an absolute “Yes” -- but you are cautioned not to ask any further questions on this subject, or the Orisha Spirit of Divination may get mad.
Ejife is positive because it represents perfect balance. It indicates blessings of knowledge with experience, and, as such, it may require more effort than Alafia.
OOO+ (Ocana) Answer: No. This will result in failure. This is a clear no answer.
Okana Sode or Okanran: 1 mouth-up and 3 mouth-down; 1 white and 3 dark coconuts; 1 heads and 3 tails.“No.” What you asked won’t happen. Okanran is a firm no.
OOOO (Ocana Yekun) Answer: No. This represents total darkness and the spirits of the dead can speak through this answer. It is a very dark omen and indicates not only complete failure but that death or the spirits of the dead are lurking in the area and demanding attention. (It is usually a good idea to side-track your questions to see if there is a spirit of the dead that is demanding some kind of payment or offering) ascertain who the spirit is, what they want, then do it, before continuing back with your original line of questions. Once the obstacle is determined, the remedy is applied and the reading addressing the original issue can resume.
How to Conduct a Reading: The most important parts of a reading is the prayer before hand and the openness of mind to receive guidance from your spirits/ guides to take the right line of questioning. Anyone can toss, but not everyone can take a yes/no line of questioning in the right direction to flesh out all of the details you need for a spell.
Start With The Prayer: begins with invoking the authority of God the Creator. Ask God for his guidence.
The Prayer: is finished with an identification of yourself by your initiatory name ( if you have one) and a simple explanation of what you are seeking to do magically.
The first question is always “Are you willing to assist me with this?” followed by an opening toss of your object your using. If I receive a positive response, I thank them, set up the spell and then ask” (Is this all set up properly?) and if I get an affirmative, I pray over it, light up the candles and the magic begins.
If I ever get a “no” answer then I usually begin a line of questioning where I listen to recommendation from my spirits and ask if I should alter my spell or working by adding something or removing something. Once everything is fine then I’ll do the spell. (This is important) (Not all spells require reading but some do like Break-ups, Certain Love Spell. Court, the more powerful a reading is required) 💔
Closing a Reading: One of the final steps I do when closing out the reading/working by asking my spirits/guides “Is everything good with me?” This is their opportunity to speak up and let me know if I need to cleanse myself or do something, Once they give an affirmative answer, the reading is closed and the work is complete.

obi: shell divination
… from Catherine Yronwode's Throwing The Bones (2012)
Obi is a quick and easy form of West African fortune telling that was developed among the Yoruba people whose traditional homeland is now largely encompassed by the modem nation of Nigeria. A similar system from the Congo is called chamalongo or zinkola nkandi.
During the era of African abduction and forced slavery, many Yorubans were transported to the Caribbean. In Cuba, under Spanish rule, they preserved a great deal of their traditional religious practices and cultural beliefs, while ostensibly practicing the Catholic religion under the veneer of Santeria or “veneration of the saints,” more respectfully known as Lukumi. Both in the African homeland and in Cuba, the Yoruba pantheon of Lukumi consists of a supreme creator god and a number of orishas, powerful spirits who have been likened to forces of nature, to angelic spirits, or even to Catholic saints.
Theologically speaking, Obi is actually the name of an orisha, the most beautiful creation God ever made. He was perfect in every way and sparkling white in color, but he was arrogant, and because of this, God cursed him by giving him a rough and dark exterior, and so he became the Kola nut, which has a dark shell but is white inside. His fall from grace is replayed every time a Kola nut falls from a tree.
In the New World, where Kola nuts do not grow, it became the practice to substitute broken pieces of Coconut shell for Kola nuts, because a Coconut is also dark on the outside with a white interior. Obi is not often thought of as bone reading, but to many diviners, a mollusk's shell is its “bone” just as much as Kola nut's shell or a Coconut's shell or a Turtle's shell is, so as time passed, obi divination incorporated the use of four Cowrie shells with their tops cut off.
In recent years, especially among non-traditional diviners who think of obi as a reading system more than a Yoruban spiritual practice, any four flat items, including coins, Ox bone dominoes, or carved Yak bone amulets — in short, any four identical binary objects with the two sides differentially marked — have been used under the name of obi.
In traditional Yoruba divination, a prayer is spoken over the obi before use. Among other things it says, “May obi remove death, may obi remove sickness ... I honor the land, and the land speaks.” If you are a newcomer to obi who is coming from outside any Nigerian or Cuban system of belief, it is a good idea to take a moment to hold the items in your hand, pray over your “yes” or “no” question in your own way, and then gently toss the items onto your casting surface.
To understand your answer — that is, to learn how obi works — you first need to learn how the binary values are traditionally assigned to the items that are thrown or cast.
Cowrie shells are read as falling with the natural opening side or the cut side up or down; some obi readers refer to the “mouths” being up or down. Coconut shell pieces with adhering white edible flesh are read as falling with the “white” inside up or the “dark” outside up. Nontraditional flat items such as coins, marked bone disks, or tiles, are read as falling with the heads or tails side up; if you use four Ox bone and Ebony wood dominoes, for instance, the marked bone fronts are heads or “white” and the unmarked wooden backs are tails or “dark.”
The four pieces are cast in one throw. There are five possible outcomes. You will first need to memorize them by appearance:
• Alafia: 4 open Cowries; 4 white Coconuts; 4 heads.
• Etawa: 3 open and 1 closed Cowries; 3 white and 1 dark Coconut; 3 heads and 1 tails.
• Ejife: 2 open and 2 closed Cowries; 2 white and 2 dark Coconuts; 2 heads and 2 tails.
• Okana Sode: 1 open and 3 closed Cowries; 1 white and 3 dark Coconuts; 1 heads and 3 tails.
• Oyeku: 4 closed Cowries; 4 dark Coconuts; 4 tails.
You will next want to memorize the meanings attached to each of the five patterns, which are called the five “letters.”
• Alafia: Blessings! “yes” to whatever you asked about — and you may get even more than you requested, or what you want will come about sooner than you hoped it would. If two “white” sides of the Coconut shells touch, the reading is “Alafia with Ire,” a great blessing. A second toss may be used to confirm this answer.
• Etawa: “Maybe.” You will probably get what you asked for, but you will have to work hard for it or you will have to accept some delays before the results materialize. Make offerings to the spirits. This is an incomplete sign, so Etawa always requires that a second toss be made to clarify the reading, and the outcome of this second toss will greatly modify the divinatory results.
• Ejife: “Yes,” but because the dark and light sides are in equal balance, you are cautioned not to ask any further questions on this particular subject. If two “white” sides of the Coconut shells touch, this is called “Ire,” and it is considered to be a particular blessing.
• Okana Sode: A simple “No.” What you asked about is not going to come to pass or what you wished for will not happen. However, even though darkness is greater than light, you may ask another question so that you can be answered in greater detail.
• Oyeku: This is a very strong “No.” There are negative spiritual implications as well, and you may need to undertake some serious spiritual cleansing in order to clear away the dark conditions or dead spirits that surround you or this issue in your life. In addition, Oyeku may mean that the spirits of the Ancestors or of the dead have something to say. You may ask again, if you wish, in order to gain further insights into the question at hand.
Regarding the second toss required if the first throw is Etawa, Dr. E., a priest in the Lukumi tradition and a member of the Association of Independent Readers and Rootworkers, explains:
“Different people interpret a first toss of Etawa in different ways. One way to see it is that obi is still thinking about the question; another way to describe it is that the divination needs further clarification.
“After Etawa, if the second toss is Alafia, Etawa, or Ejife, then the answer is 'Yes,' in various permutations.
“Etawa followed by Alafia means 'Peace after obstacles.'
“Etawa twice in a row means 'Yes,' but it also carries the further idea of 'Don't ask what you already know.'
“Etawa followed by Ejife means, 'Absolutely; you will be able to conquer this.'
“If the second toss after Etawa is either Okana Sode or Oyeku, the answer is going to be some form of 'No.'
“If Okana Sode follows Etawa, the answer is simply, 'No.'
“If Oyeku follows Etawa, the answer is, 'No, and the dead are asking to speak.”
Dr. E. also adds the following advice, “Traditional diviners always keep a gourd or a bowl of water next to them while casting. When Okana Sode or Oyeku fall, they will moisten their fingers in this water and then use their fingers to moisten the backs of the face-down shells and place them face-up before picking them up to cast them again.”
In February, 2012, Lukianos, also an initiate in a Lukumi tradition and a member of the Association of Independent Readers and Rootworkers, was a guest on the Lucky Mojo Hoodoo Rootwork Hour Radio Show. We discussed some of the ways in which obi can move a binary reading beyond simple “yes” or “no” outcomes:
I asked, “In the chat room someone wrote, 'Does Obi ever change the question when you're asking it?' and, Lukianos, you posted, 'Obi does indeed have a perspective of its own, but usually when it changes the subject, it means I'm asking the wrong question.'
“Explain what you mean by that. what does 'Obi changes the subject mean, and what is 'asking the wrong question?'
'Lukianos replied, “So, there are two general instances where Obi 'changes the subject.'
“The first instance is when you have Oyeku come up. This is four mouths down. There are several different reasons Oyeku can come up.
“One: 'That question is closed. We're not going any farther with that.'
“Two: 'The dead or some other spiritual entity wishes to speak.' In this case, Oyeku marks a break, something to sort of get your attention and allow you to ask, 'Who is it who wishes to speak now?'
“Three: 'The obi need to be refreshed.' Because we're working with a system that comes out of West Africa, the notion is of cool cleansing water, so the idea is, when something gets overly hot or overly worked up, then in order to regain clarity, you have to cool it down, which is why I keep my obi shells in a cool bowl of water between tosses.
“But more often than not, what I mean when I say that obi 'changes the subject' is that I've asked a series of questions that I think make sense, based on what I understand of the situation, but I'll get answers that don ft make sense in terms of how they're paired. So I'll look at that and I'll think to myself, (Okay, let's assume, given the questions I asked and the answers I got, that all of these things are correct. What would have to be the case in order for that to be true?' And that convinces me to change the model that I'm using in asking the questions.
“So 'asking the wrong question' means that what I'm assuming may not actually be the case. It may not actually represent the situation. And then it's up to me as a reader to rethink it, step back, and then ask questions to clarify and figure out what I'm not understanding about the situation.”
I responded, “Yeah, that is key. That's really important, because the inclination of the newcomer is to doubt the system of divination. But if you step back and say, 'How did I ask the question that allowed this to come up?'often you'll see it. And that's when YOU are really learning divination, when you trust the divination system;whatever system it is.”
Lukianos agreed, “Yes, it's not about reading the signs in the divination; it's about asking the right question in the first place. Honestly, learning how to ask the right question is far more difficult than learning how to read the oracle itself.”
Let's summarize what Lukianos and Dr. E. just taught us about obi:
• Etawa requires a second casting. The outcome of the second throw modifies the meaning of Etawa.
• Oyeku, in addition to, “No!” can also signify the dead. This letter may point to the Ancestors or other discarnate spirits. Take a moment to pause, then ask who it is who wishes to speak, employing the “yes” or “no” system of obi to ascertain the name.
• Obi may require cooling down between questions. Keeping your shells in a clear glass bowl of water will calm and refresh them, as will moistening the “dark” sides of the shells that have come up when Okana Sode or Oyeku fall.
• If the answers don't make sense, re-examine the question. This is especially important when you are asking a question on behalf of a client who may not have told you much about the situation. Try reframing the client's narrative in order to uncover a more relevant question.
It is a misleading truism among diviners unfamiliar with obi to say that, because it is a binary system, it will only answer “yes” or “no” questions. As you can now see, there is a lot more to the obi shells than “yes” or “no.” With finesse and further training, you will be able to use obi to get at the deeper picture of any situation. Keep in mind that as with Chinese oracle bone reading divinations, the key to expanding a simple system's power is to ask carefully framed variations on the question.

As outlined by the Palo Mayombe property to which somebody is becoming started out into Policies can differ. Palo Mayombe was built in in the Santeria faith Regulations and policies will vary . Cuba and the Carribeans, this cauldron is named a Nganga-Prenda for the reason that tradition of modern day time along with the impact of Latin American's spiritualism in Palo Mayombe, in Core America. It is not uncommon to locate paleros whose spirits are the lifestyle dead. Muertos are held inside of a big clay pot rather than standard large steel cauldron. It all depends around the palero priest where kind you can expect to recieve your soul container and that will support and train the secrets to palo mayombe. Finding the initiation along with the mood of Palo Mayombe is only the first step in the lengthy journey into the world of mood. Palo Mayombe is an african religious beliefs originary from the Kongo area. It really has been safeguarded as much as our instances by the slaves who had been brought in to areas for example Brazil, Suriname, and Cuba, the latter becoming the place where Palo (also referred to as Palo Monte ) has become most favored also among men and women of hispanic descent. Palo is a direct approach to comunication using the Spirits: the belief is strongly animistic and similar to shamanism: everything is available is known as animated by mood, person specifically can be a doorway with other worlds through mediumship. The mood that are the most pertinent for Palo are: the spirits of your Dead, the Spirits of Nature (which inhabit trees and shrubs, plants and flowers and stones, wildlife and so forth.), along with the Highest Entities which manifest themselves from the Forces of character (the Wind flow, the Lightning, the ocean, and so on.) and in guy.

The main worship and employ is now being taken throughout the Nganga or Prenda, and that is a consecrated cauldron packed (amongst other things...) with sacred earth, stays (palos), and bones, which is devoted to a specifical religious electricity. This cauldron can also be inhabited through the soul of a Dead, which behave as program for all those magical and faith based routines that are executed about the Nganga. On account of religious syncretism a lot of components foreign for the initial african custom may be contained in the rituals, including the utilisation of the sign of your christian cross, images of saints (these much more frequent within the Palo family members of Colombia and Venezuela), and in many cases making use of characteristics and brands of Orishas to clarify/contact the Enkisi, what are the Gods of Palo, the powerful Entities which are sent to our prime The lord Zambi or Ensambi. The Palero works together with spirits of Gentle (Ensambi) or of your Darkness (Endoki). The latter simply being even the denomination to the Paleros which do not use christian symbols in their process of Palo. Being started in Palo is needed to endure a ceremony referred to as "Rayamiento" which implies "itching", exactly where particular spots are traced on the skin from the new adept: a pact is produced with the character who lives from the cauldron, this ritual is additionally known as "to swear together with the Nganga". From now on, the individual that has received "Rayamiento" will probably be beneath the defense from the Nkisi who policies the Nganga of his/her Godfather. The next step in the religion is starting to become a Tata (Dad), or Yaya (Mother) and acquiring a cauldron. Divination can be used to determine which "path" from the Palo Entities is the most appropriate for the newest Nganga. A whole new ceremony is done in which the Tata will swear towards the Dead (Enfumbe) living in the Nganga in order that it can help together with the religious and substance growth of the new complete-fledged palero/a. The divination strategy is referred to as Kujamputu or Chamalongo, as well as the simple habits are just like Obi/Coco Santeria divination. As Palo Mayombe Initiation of Kardecian syncretism in lots of Homes of Palo (Covens published to one Our god- daddy or Godmother) a Psychic Misa is behaved ahead of the initiation, as a way to identify the main spirits that will help to formulate one's existence. These instructions often articulate also through ownership, and could give primary guidance.

Unpopular witch opinion:
You need more than just yourself and good vibes to practice witchcraft 🤷🏼♂️
If a spell calls for certain ingredients and certain tools, for the spell to be exicuted correctly and accurately those things must be taken into account. If a spell could only be performed by just saying words and thinking positively then everyone would be a witch. Everyone would be tapped into their Power. It is my personal belief that not everyone can be a witch. This work is not cut out for everyone and that is okay. My godmother says “spiritual work is Work. It is not half assed, it is not done incorrectly without consequences. There has to be work done to get results.”
To me spell craft and ritual work isn’t about meditating to bring positivity (this is my opinion btw so if that is spell work for you then great! But it isn’t to me). Craft is the actual doing of witchcraft- it is the work put into a spell to gain a specific outcome. It is working an hour to create one fixed candle, it is the labor of crushing herbs with a mortar and pestal making an incense to burn during ritual. It is the DOING of magic that makes us witches.
If you don’t have something that a spell calls for and you cannot substitute it with something of the same caliber of energy then it is in your best interest to not preform the spell. It will not come out how you like and that’s that.
Most of the time you can substitute things, if you don’t have an official athame you may use any knife to get the result but a finger cannot do what an athame does. A finger does not hold energetically what a knife does and that’s how it is.
I do consider myself a traditionalist when it comes to Craft- I am being mentored by a woman who has been a Palera for over 20 years and in turn was taught by a Palero who made her remake her chamalongos until they were smooth as a babies bottom and threw away her Tool when it was done wrong. So I’m being taught a traditional approach to craft that says that things have to be correct or they won’t work plain and simple. And if it’s not done correctly there could be consequences.
This is not meant to discourage anyone but really meant to inspire you to not only achieve your greatest possible outcome for spell work but to encourage you to DO. If it was as easy as chanting Latin words then being a witch wouldn’t be as much fun or rewarding as it is when you see a whole candle catch on fire because of all the energy you put into it. Realize that what we Witches do is hard work. Witchcraft is a labor of love that we Craft to hone our skills to create our own reality, to live our lives how we will.

Divination...and Palo...😅

My photo of one of my Marseilles tarot decks. My preferred choice. If you have read this blog, then you know why I don't use other decks. I'm not into "historical" decks and I don't collect them either. I use them as a tool.
I've never made a single post just about divination before. This covers all tools (or no tools) that I've used. Its also an insight as a seer and a professional diviner. Its about to get verbose!
My earliest memory of divination was my friend Sarah's Ouija board, ha! The spirit attached to it was real and was oddly named, "Codger." He was fun to chat with. Sarah and I spooked ourselves and just had a good ol time asking silly girl things. Hey! We were 9 years old. My brother started getting into the occult around the same time. I snagged his Swiss Marseille tarot deck! I was intrigued and wanted to play with them. Of course, as a little sister, no was the only answer.
Divination, to me, was a very mystical process that I couldn't wrap my head around. Especially at such a young age. It took me until I was about 17 to buy a tarot deck. I didn't have a job, parents never gave me any money, and my soon to be husband wouldn't buy a deck for me. Things were a lot different back then.
I didn't even attempt other forms of divination. I had no clue of my gifts. I heard "invisible ppl" trying to have conversations with me but I didn't know that they were muertos. I was alone a lot in my early years. Ppl were haunting me and I started to block them instead of attempting necromancy (divination by means of the dead).
When I became a Demonolator, some of my gifts became apparent, but it wasn't even 10% of what I have now. I did have a natural affinity for divining with Demons - but still, my current success is not nearly the same as the readings that I used to do at my shop from 2014-2020. Now, my readings are off the chart accurate and I spook and amaze customers. I will no longer do Demonic readings. No one can even beg me to do one.
There are other forms of divination that I haven't tried, like runes. Not interested. Oracle cards, some are okay. Playing cards? Naw. Lenormand? Nope. I just thought, there's way too many forms of divination that I can't think of and too much to list.
I'm good with tarot, but that took a long time. I was closed. Pendulums, yes, but I only use them to find muertos to work with from the graveyard. i just bought some Witches Runes to mess with. We'll see! They are painted on sea shells. I'm definitely a Sea Witch type. 😊 I am very good at necromancy, which is my main divination skill. My muerto is darn accurate.
I do yes/no divination too. There are three techniques I use. My favorite are chamalongos, or coconut shells. These are from Palo, but other African traditions use coconut shells with cowrie shells glued on them. These are known as obi. There are four chamalongos with different meanings interpreted when cast. The shells are round and dark on one side and light on the other. When cast, depending on the pattern, you will get these yes or no answers:
Sa Tembo - Yes, with blessings.
Sa Ntoto - Maybe, cast again. If Sa Ntoto again, no do not repeat question. If yes answer, it is positive. If no, it is negative or an obstacle.
Sa Mansa - Definite yes.
Saunt - No.
Sa Mbasi - Absolutely no, with negativity.
Thing is though, is just not anyone can toss the coconuts. You have to be scratched into Palo and have received your Lucero. Lucero rules over the chamalongos, if I recall. I got licensed to have a Lucero and my shells. Not easy to do. Everything costs money in Palo. I never have had enough for my rayamiento (scratching ceremony). Still don't. But I've been over quoted with prices. I know a Palero who is more affordable. I don't really want a religion, though Palo is definitely the only one I'd ever choose.
Chamalongo divination also includes much more than tossing shells. There are prayers and mambos that I never have gotten to know. I would knock on the floor at Lucero's shrine and speak my personal Lucero's name as a chant. Its not just one name, its a sentence! Lol! He always was correct with his answers, too. I tested him sometimes.
This divination has always been my most bestest favorite. The energy, closeness, accuracy, and power dwarves all others except necromancy. Just yes/no? Well...Lucero gave me input too. 😊 I shouldn't be giving a ersatz (false) Palo lesson here. Though I've been studying and practicing as a layperson since 2010, I don't feel qualified at all. I just have my Palo fantasies, I guess.
I've been told that Palo is my home by a few Tata's. I do feel it could be. Just dunno. Sometimes the Regla (rules; laws) get to me. I can overcome that. Wish I had the cash sometimes. Lol! 😅
Whoops! This WAS divination. Sorry!! Maybe you all will be interested in this post anyways?

💛💚Iboru, iboya, ibosheshe...💚💛
