Hellenic polytheism tip: ask Hermes to guide your shopping
Hermes will help you purchase things either for now or later.
Before I devoted myself to Apollo and was still casually worshipping him, I found a shirt at a thrift store that I wouldn't normally buy or wear anywhere but I felt drawn to it.
So I started wearing it initially to attract wealth and abundance, wearing it on warm sunny weekends and this was right before last year's solar eclipse in the northern hemisphere.
(Synchronicity penny just dropped: last weekend I watched a horror movie featuring a Solar Eclipse & Apollo showed me an online shopping page... I'll link below.)
Anyway once I established myself as Apollo's devotee rather than worshipper, I started wearing this shirt on Sundays as a devotional act for him.
The shirt:
(I'm tired so please excuse my face)
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Last year while thrift shopping I found some cute cherub tea light candle holders, which isn't something I typically get either.
This was during a period where Hermes was being his trickster self & larping as Hekate (the spider in my towel head wrap is such an obvious sign looking back) but I was like "odd, this doesn't feel like hekate" so I packed then away.
Recently, while reorganising my bedroom I took them out and had a closer look.
There's a Lyre on each candle holder.
I asked Apollo if he'd like them on his altar.
Yes.
Another time, while shopping with Hermes I asked Ares if he liked a bag Hermes helped me pick out.
Ares complimented it so then immediately Hermes found me a "War Collection" box for my Ares altar ☺️
So let Hermes guide your shopping (set a boundary that he doesn't send you broke because one weekend he kept showing me a bunch of antiques and I'm like MATE I AM NOT RICH... yet)
E.g. when Hermes had me spend my annual leave buying a bunch of LEDs and a damn Asus Rog Ally hand-held PC for his altar as a thank-you for him gifting me with a year's worth of free coffee + $10k AUD
Hermes altar, the hand-held gaming PC he had me dedicate to him and the smol llama plush that now lives on said altar... (I still think it needs a name other than "Lola")
Tumblr media Tumblr media
The second-hand coral pink Nintendo Switch that Hermes and Apollo had me go and buy my disabled housemate to make their medical appointments easier after the aforementioned winnings + Hermes helping me make $500 profit after calling my phone company out on predatory sales tactics and threatening to drag them to the telecommunications ombudsman.
I included a case I no longer use and some games I no longer play, as well as an LED charging cable.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Hermes finding me a Hermes-coded bag and a war box for Ares
Apollo being real subtle showing me eclipse mints next to a certain book title after watching a horror movie about a solar eclipse
Warning:
Hermes is also the God of thievery (I was extremely good at shoplifting during my youth that I once stole a 2L bottle of bourbon while wearing nothing but a bikini and a sarong) and he did once make a shopkeeper forget to charge me for almost $200 worth of thrift store merchandise however Apollo will absolutely drag you for such acts and so if you work with Apollo or other justice inclined gods, steal at your own risk.

Hi! Out of curiosity, how does it feel to play Kingdom Hearts on the steam deck? I was considering getting a steam deck but I’m not sure how good the controls would actually feel playing Kingdom Hearts. (I’m used to PlayStation controls) Like, (is any of this for real or not-) is playing with the buttons and joysticks near the top of the screen feel comfortable?
hi! i'm happy to report that it's been very comfortable to play. 😄 i played it for roughly 6 hours straight the other day while traveling and didn't have any issues. because the steam deck screen is so big, it can just sit in your lap so you don't have to support the weight of it or crane your neck at all, it's really nice. i suppose my hands started to get a little tired after about the fifth hour of playing, but that wasn't due to the position of the buttons.
i'm not sure if you saw my post about the battery life, but i was shocked by how long i was able to play before i needed to charge it. i straight up forgot to even check the battery until the fourth hour, and i didn't pull the charger out until about 5.5 hours. this was with kh1 and i haven't tested the others. i expect that won't be the case for kh3.
the one thing i do want to mention is the button mapping. this isn't a criticism of the hardware so much as a note for anyone whose brain works the same way as mine. so, the steam deck natively uses the same button configuration as xbox, where the A button is at the bottom of the keypad, like this
Tumblr media
however, there's a toggle in the system settings called Use Nintendo Button Layout, which reverses the functionality of the A and B buttons and the X and Y buttons in order to operate more like the nintendo switch. i have this toggle turned on because it feels more comfortable and familiar to me when i'm playing in handheld mode. therefore, the "A" button is at the right of the keypad.
but when the deck is docked, i use a ps4 controller to play games and operate the system, and as i'm sure you know, the X button is at the bottom of the keypad.
what this means for kingdom hearts is that the attack button keeps moving. 🙃 every time i switch between handheld and docked modes, i will inevitably swing my keyblade when i meant to jump and jump when i meant to bash something's face in. it's a struggle.
this problem won't affect anyone who uses the native button mapping for the deck or anyone who only plays exclusively in one mode (handheld or docked). but i still wanted to mention it. you can also remap the playstation buttons if that helps.
all in all though, i'm a huge fan of the steam deck and i definitely recommend it for kh! portable kh1 has been my dream for YEARS and this experience has really delivered (ugly upscaling notwithstanding). i'll be playing it some more on the train back home tomorrow and i'm so excited <3
btw i also recommend getting the official dock as well because it's nice to have somewhere to set it, but you can also use any third party dock with a USB-C cable if you find something cheaper :)

Here’s my note before I’ll get started….

Item Review of 2023 - My NexiGo NS32 Controller (Part 1/Unboxing and Comparison) (March. 15th, 2023)
I’m up for another review share, everyone! Previously where I got the mashup style for three of my new accessories, it’s time I went moving on for something controlling tech related. Today is where I’m getting started with my new video game controller I’d obtain from last year’s Christmas. Same goes to my new Xbox controller; which will be waiting for my future review soon. For now, here’s mine to share first: A NexiGo NS32 Controller. I’d picked it from Amazon.com for $40 affordable price; at least as an alternative choice. The reason because originally I’m supposed to get this new controller from the same brand I had with the TV Dock. (Link Here #1) (Link Here #2)
It was a bit disappointing, but hope there’s another time to save it the near future. At least I got with this one from the brand NexiGo; in which had all kind of tech and accessories to check out. (Link Here #3)
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
⬆️ (1st through 4th Images; after unboxing and checking my new controller from front to back) (March. 15th; from 2:44 P.M. to 2:50 P.M.)
Anyways, here’s what I picked for a new controller; as I going through unboxed and making comparisons to my previous controllers. Except with my Joy-Cons because it’s different from these controllers I’m using. I’ll see I can save it after this review is done.
While going through unboxing for a moment, the package does includes the USB Type-C charging cable and a user manual. This is sure to be enough to get started with my new controller. Speaking in which, it features turbo function and displaying RGB Lighting. Nice! This is the first time I’ll be using for my Nintendo Switch system; especially if I would to try out its turbo functionality. Hope it won’t be too complicated while working on either of my games I have. Did I forget to mention the color theme I’ve picked? The “Comic Nebula” theme looks nice to choose. There’s other variety themes to choose from, but at least I’m going for with this one.
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
⬆️ (5th through 10th Images; after did a comparison to my other video game controllers) (March. 15th; from 3:36 P.M. to 3:41 P.M.)
Tumblr media Tumblr media
⬆️ (11th through 12th Images; I nearly forget til a month later; as I already did this one while doing stacking each controllers in side to side comparison) (April. 30th; from 9:56 A.M. to 9:57 A.M.)
Tumblr media Tumblr media
⬆️ (13th through 14th Images; another one when trying to stack with my Xbox One controller) (May. 23rd; from 2:54 P.M. to 2:55 P.M.)
Now I’m moving to comparison with my two controllers; from Xbox One to my old YCCTEAM controller. They’re in similarly shape and designed alike from my new controller to compared; so does everything else. However, the YCCTEAM controller fair match better with my new controller; aside having different color plates and grips after holding them together.
As for my Xbox One controller though, the stick caps apparently show its ages as I going through this review. Here’s a close-up look from its analog stick. I’ve tried to cover up with my other caps; which is from the unboxing accessories for my Nintendo Switch Joy-Cons. Though I know it was bit too small until I’m waiting for the bigger ones from Amazon.com.
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
⬆️ (15th through 18th Images; where I’d covered with these caps) (May. 27th; from 1:22 P.M. to 1:25 P.M.)
Right now, my mom wasn’t here at the house while she’s on important work or something. Hoping she’ll be coming back home.
Anyways, hope you enjoy this first parter after unboxing and comparing to my other controllers. So far of my overall thoughts, it matches with my previous YCCTEAM controller right up. However with my new one stands out for its “Cosmic Nebula” color plate theme, RGB Lighting, and turbo functionality. Can’t wait to get started for the next one, but while going through testing phase first. I got it recorded in videos already, so don’t miss it. 😉👍

don't know who needs to hear this but you need to get a 10 to 15' hdmi cable so you can put your nintendo switch dock next to the sofa. go from tv mode to handheld mode and back without getting up. use wired controllers without trip hazards. always have a ps4 controller charged and handy bc the front usb port on the dock charges playstation controllers. you'll never go back to the 'normal' way again.

1) CORRECT, it was intended as the successor to cassette tapes, and as a more portable companion to CD, as tapes were to vinyl records, in a way. all the convenience of tapes and CDs in one package :3
2) ebay and Japanese proxy shopping! with some luck you can find a recorder in decent shape on ebay for an okay price (I shoot for about $100 or less when possible) and $50 or less for playback only models like the one in my post. I've also used a proxy service for yahoo! Japan auctions called buyee.jp because you can usually find players bundled with accessories (in-line remote, charging dock, battery sidecar) in good shape for a decent price as well. highly recommend budgeting for that though bc Japanese sellers love to over-pack orders which is nice for keeping ur order safe but the package dimensions + weight are used to calculate shipping so you may end up paying more than you would expect (shout out to the seller who sent me a Nintendo switch cart by itself inside of a massive box and a huge bundle of bubble wrap. fuck you dude this could've been an envelope 🖕) anyways I think NetMD is worth it for getting into minidisc bc it's so easy and quick but they tend to be a bit more expensive than pre-NetMD recorders because of their popularity. on the plus side this also means you can find an older recorder for cheaper than NetMD devices. oh and avoid most Location:Japan listings in ebay bc chances are they're just relisting a yahoo Japan auction item they don't even have, for twice as much as you'd be likely to pay if you bought it from Yahoo auctions urself.
3) so there's actually two methods for recording discs, one is live dubbing, which is to say connecting a recorder to the audio source with either analog line-in connection or a digital TOSLINK cable (or a 3.5mm jack microphone on some models) OR later model recorders that have a feature called NetMD in which you can plug in through USB and upload your tracks. it used to be a proprietary software but some enthusiasts have reverse engineered their own program accessible through Chrome based browsers (rare Firefox L) that allow you to upload music even easier. I use a usb-c to mini usb cable and the web app installed on my Android phone to burn most of my discs when I don't feel like doing a live recording just bc it's way faster. live recording can be a vibe though, I love recording my record collection so I can take them with me on the go :3
ebay search for MD recorders
buyee search for Net MD recorders
buyee search for MD players (only bc the players are much thinner and less scary to carry around than ur precious recorder. less wear and tear as well on ur recorder as well)
web minidisc pro (for recording through NetMD) and WMD guide to learn how to use it, and the rest of the wiki is useful for researching models while you shop
minidisc wiki discord and finally the official wiki discord! everyone's real friendly in here, come on in and join us sometime, there's tons of seasoned MD enthusiasts who are ready to help with any problem or question you could possibly have :)

Nintendo switch cables are a fucking g-dsend
My laptop charger broke and I was worried I was going to have to spend half the day hunting down a new one. I always use the switch charger for my phone, so I had it with me, and tried plugging it into my laptop-
and it is slowly charging it, even with the screen on
