a reminder from my rules:
I’m mutuals only and VERY selective because I've exhausted my creativity when it comes to certain fandoms and relationships after writing Emma for so many years, there may be exception with some people I know but if you see me interact with a character from the 'no' list it doesn't mean it's now open for all. It's nothing to do with moral judgment though, just with me either not liking certain dynamics or having done enough of them.
You have a MULTI MUSE blog and need a hint about which muses I would want to rp with OR YOU WANT TO FOLLOW FIRST and aren't sure I'd be interested?
I can't list all of them but YES YES YES to fandoms like (or are similar to): For fantasy-Emma: The Witcher, Dragon Age (especially 1 and 3, I don't know 2 well but I'm okay with it), Lord of the Rings (movies), Doctor Who (very doable especially in her fantasy verse, because her universe is parallel to canon, her timeline was rewritten), Galavant, BBC Merlin, and surely many more than right now I can't think of. If we make it work with dimension-jumping to sci-fi/magic fandoms I adore Legends of Tomorrow, Buffy and Angel.
For non magical historical fandoms: Turn: Washington Spies, Marvelous Mrs. Maisel, Downton Abbey, Bridgerton and similar shows. Honestly if you are okay with me not knowing the show, I can work with all your Jane Austenish characters.
There is a modern Emma page for Chuck, Lost, Leverage and a few Marvel characters. Also made a The 100 full backstory. The 'personality' generic paragraph can be used for many sitcoms/dramedies/action shows too, skipping the rest, more details on that page.
Finally: in Once Upon a Time: only with Killian/Hook, David and Ingrid/Snow Queen, but there are rare exceptions for other characters, I'll let you know myself if yours is an exception so things don't get awkward with you asking and me saying no. NEVER with Regina nor oc family members. To avoid forcing her backstory on you if you write someone who is a part of it, like her father David, we can have a thread in which this Emma meets the canon one.
However (maybes and NOs):
-I don't write Emma with villains unless they are in redemption mode because she would attack them and choose not to interact (but I'm all for not confusing fiction and reality, writing a villain says nothing about you), exceptions can be made if we plot so that we aren't taking it too seriously and they won't be trying to hurt her and/or they aren't senselessly murdering and/or doing it for fun. This because I need to be certain that I'm not making you feel godmodded but also that I don't have to change Emma's entire personality.
-If your character is a stranger who wants her to go away she will, she's not going to beg for their attention, so I'll suggest reasons why they are stuck together, please don't take it as godmodding or wanting to control everything! She's got trauma, she's not begging villains to be nice either, so we have to find a compromise.
-No to horror, Game of Thrones which I don't know, and Harry Potter. No-ish to Marvel/DC due to writing in it too much (exceptions are on the modern page or yes list above). No to historical figures unless they are characters in a tvshow: as in yes if you rp as 'Queen Charlotte from Bridgerton' who is a fictional character inspired by the real woman but not meant to represent her accurately and simply follows a work of fiction, no to a fandomless Queen Charlotte meant to represent the real person.
-No to angels/demons/deities/myths, and to immortals besides the Doctor. Very very selective with vampires and other magical creatures, they often have an aesthetic that makes me uncomfortable or plots that aren't my cup of tea, Buffy/Angel are the exception, so please let me be the one asking or assume it's a no.
-No to children and teenagers besides the 100 (but she's a teen too) because I've done enough of those threads and I'm not interested in exploring them with Emma anymore.

I went through my extensive muse lists and found 66 of them did not have active threads, i have decided to remove some and move others onto the main pages in order to promote them more. below i will list the muses that are staying but are not actively involved in a thread, muses whose current faces are likely changing and those who are being moved to a general list of faces i would play if someone requested them. If you’re interested in any of the muses/faces below please reach out! I may be making starters with some of them soon if their muse speaks to me :)    **NOTE** IF YOU NOTICE YOU HAVE A THREAD WITH ANY OF THE MUSES LISTED IN THIS POST PLEASE MESSAGE ME AND I DEEPLY APOLOGIZE FOR THE ERROR ON MY PART

Prima Donna Romance Season 1 Episode 11: Finale
Previously On Prima Donna Romance... Jacob and Shelby are a strong couple. Their relationship is strained at some points, but their love for each other perseveres. They make friends, enemies, and even discover things about each other they never thought to be true. Now, the first phase of their story is reaching its peak, and it's a beautiful road ahead.
Students crowded around the scene as it happened, covering their coy smiles with their hands. A few weeks after everyone at the school thought that the tornado got to Leslie, she reappeared. Jacob was there, watching Shelby slap Leslie and Leslie pull Shelby's hair. Then, Shelby pulled Leslie to the floor and began slapping her. Jacob walked between the two girls, but they both ended up slapping him.
Now on the same courtyard, it was empty except for Shelby and Jacob. Sophomore year had ended. Dorothy Hoffs and Joran transferred to a private boarding school in New York, Rasheb transferred to a school in Japan; and instead of following Joran, Leslie skipped straight to college, and she started classes yesterday. Keshin was expelled by the new principal alongside Henry Jones, Agent Phineas Jones' son, after they got into a fight; and Charlotte moved out with her mother to build a new town: Las Garrens.
Shelby and Jacob looked each other in the eyes, a romantic thread entangling them, weaved into their lives. Shelby looked at Jacob with a twinkle in her eyes. "Finally," she thought. "We can be together. No interruptions. No pain. No new ex-girlfriends."
Jacob looked at Shelby, and time stopped for a moment, and it stopped long enough to observe both of them. "Finally," he thought. "No more drama, no more fighting. We can love each other in peace." Jacob and Shelby had made it out of sophomore year and had become emancipated. They were finally adults.
"I can't wait to start a new life with you," said Shelby. "No more dumb school stuff."
Jacob grabbed Shelby's hands, excitedly crying out, Let's move to Las Garrens, start a new life in Charlotte's town, and make a name for ourselves. You're right—we don't have to go to school anymore—we can finally be us."
Shelby grew serious. "You can't be real right now." She stomped off, Jacob chased after her, asking her why she didn't want to move, and she cried, "You just want to be with Charlotte!"
"I like Charlotte." Jacob ran after her and grabbed her by the shoulder. She swatted his arm away. The two stood in the middle of the grassy fields surrounding the school, eyes now locked as if the keys to separate their stares had been thrown away into the ocean, never to be seen again.
Shelby couldn't resist Jacob's pleading eyes. She grabbed Jacob, twirling him in her arms like this was some Shakespeare play. She and Jacob looked out to the sky, and she said melodramatically, "Screw the school life! Screw a new town! Let's settle down here—quietly—and live out the days together!"
Jacob twirled Shelby around in his arms now and cried, "Don't let us be separated again, Shelby!"
"I have a confession," said Shelby, looking away momentarily. "My name is not Shelby—that is my nickname. My full name is Heath-Shelbyrson Denningford."
"Then, my beloved Heath," said Jacob, pulling at Shelby's arms. "Away we shall go, never to be seen by the public." Jacob beckoned Shelby to his SUV, and they drove off into the sunset happily, their stories finally feeling resolved in all's hearts.
But lurking, watching them as they took off, was the disgruntled new principal looking to separate them oncemore, Land Moozer, and his equally disgruntled cousin and school district's legal attorney on retainer, Lenny Moozer.
Land said to Lenny, "We must stop this at all costs."
"We bring a lawsuit against them," suggested Lenny to Land. "Accuse them of being truants and force them to go back to school. In New York they might allow you to drop out at the age of 16, but here in Washington they don't. If we win, they have to go back to school."
As Lenny and Land schemed, Shelby and Jacob drove onto their new house. It was a large manor, marble towers flanking the entrance, and paths leading to a gate in front of the house and a jacuzzi-plus-swimming-pool-area out back. Shelby had been lended a lot of money, and her dad gave her the manor for her 16th birthday. Jacob and Shelby put on their shades at they left the SUV, and a new life began.
The SUV exploded as they left. They wouldn't need it anyway, they decided. They had a limousine and a chauffeur, Fredal Worthpenny. Their new life was about to begin, and it was about to be amazing.
Fredal offered, "Juice, sir?"
"Wine," said Shelby.
"You're underage," said Fredal. They nodded, Shelby and Jacob, so Fredal got the wine anyway. Shelby, Fredal and Jacob stood there at the entrance of the house. From above, they looked like ants in comparison to the scale of the manor. The jacuzzi and pool, the manor, and the marble statues at the entrance and scattered around the pool made them look like a singular grain of sand at a stretchy beach.
They had their own private restaurant, with chef, waiter and all; they had their own personal spa, masseuse, lime slices and all; they had everything, and they're just 16. Their new life was epic, truly.
On Season 2 Of Prima Donna Romance... Lance and Lenny start legal trouble with a ludicrous lawsuit! Still, Shelby and Jacob persevere.

season one break: day 8 location: wes’ house time: 1:30pm for: @violetleaves
Tumblr media
can it only have been just over a week since filming ended? in different ways it feels like less and more. ever since she’d left the wrap party, swiftly making her way back to the house to finish packing and then out on her way to catch a red eye, she’s been doing her best to keep busy. it’s impossible to not think of wes though, when she has time to herself. even on that flight, she found herself imagining what she could have said differently or what would have happened if she had just impulsively decided to tell him what he’d said on the night of her birthday. really, she was saving him the stress and pressure of his own words. she knows he’s not ready to rebel and she’s not ready to spend forever waiting, even if some part of her wishes she was.
she’s been cradling her birthday gift every chance she’s gotten, working on a couple of new songs here and there and finishing off the one that’s still got her phone blowing up with comments, though she’s hinted that it’ll be coming soon, at the insistence of her agent. to see the speed at which articles popped up about it almost frightened her, but this is all a part of the lifestyle she wanted, so she’s taking it on the chin. it’s come up in interviews, too and two distinct interviewers have forced her to find some creative way to not have to reveal anything. she knows no one will buy that it isn’t about anyone at all, but they’ll never connect it to wes. in fact, one asks about jordan, insisting that the media hasn’t gotten her perspective. she repeats a rehearsed line and leaves it at that. for all the speculation, not one of them seems to have it figured out, except some fringe fans who get regularly called out for ‘shipping real people’. her secrets get to stay hers, but her art is going to be out there, which seems like an ideal situation. it just so happens that she’s got to record that song with the subject before she can get to that point.
admittedly, she’s been expecting disappointment almost all week, with how difficult things got the last time they were on a filming break. maybe she even hopes for it, because she’s not sure how things will be between them after their last conversation, but for all her worries she can’t turn him down in the end. she begins filming for the movie tomorrow, but today she’s driving a rental car through a gated community, after giving her i.d. and checking in at the front. it’s a quick turnover, but she doesn’t really have much of a choice in the matter. she needs the song recorded and selfishly, almost masochistically, she wants to see him.
when she reaches the house, it’s yet another roadblock of a gate that she rolls the car through once opened. lottie’s mind seems to go blank as she steps out of the car and begins the walk up to the front door. on first glance, all she can take in is the blinding white. it’s clean, but it’s almost... devoid of colour, rather than just fresh and modern. the new boots she’s wearing feel stiff against her feet, but she’d opted for a more casual look in order to record, wearing a pair of her favourite jeans and a loose, yellow crop top covered in lemons. cradling her book to her chest, she remembers the text he sent her about not touching the doorbell just as her hand hovers over it. instead, she shifts and knocks, figuring that with the gate letting her in, he knows she’s arrived. she waits for a moment, looking down at her shoes before her gaze is suddenly meeting his on the other side of the door. “hi.” the word leaves her almost in surprise. she almost forgets what she said to him, tempted to give him a shy smile and revel in the fact that they’re spending alone time together, but instead she just shoots him a friendly grin. “is it really just us today? i’m kind of bracing myself for... certain people to pop out and i’d rather know now.” she tells him, hesitating before she steps inside, taking in the cold, white interior of the home. it seems maybe wes didn’t make decisions about this house, at least not based on what she thinks he likes.

filming: season one, episode 14 | day six time: 9:30pm location: seven north nightclub for: @violetleaves
Tumblr media
the whole point of acting is often to becoming something you’re not. charlotte has embraced that since she was a child, the ability to play pretend and do it for more than just the fun of it. at this point, is oscillates rapidly between hobby and career, but tonight it’s clear cut. when she glances at herself in the mirror before they leave, admiring the way her hair is pulled back in a high ponytail with cascading curls that frame her face when she leans forward slightly. lottie has to be honest with herself, she somewhat resembles fran from the nanny in the very best way. her makeup is far more severe than even the stuff she wears on set, though that stuff tends to be thicker. she’s given jack free reign and jack has in turn brought in a friend who does drag on the weekends to sculpt out charlotte’s cheeks and buff out sultry, smoky colours on the outer corners of her eyes and bright pops of lavender on the lid that you can only really notice up close. it’s the kind of makeup she’d never really do for herself, or even now where to start with if she wanted to, but it feels perfect for the occasion, or at least what she thinks is the occasion. as far as she’s been told, they’re going to a gay club for a small, understated celebration of her twenty-first birthday. it doesn’t feel much like her birthday this year, though she’s woken up with plenty of messages and been given plenty of gifts. usually she’d throw a party, but doing it for herself just seems a little silly when she’s not exactly in the mood for it. going to a gay club at least seems like something where she doesn’t necessarily have to be stuck in her own head, if even just for a little bit.
what she doesn’t know, is that her friends are sneaky liars on more fronts than just in regards to inviting her parents down to visit her before her birthday, so she won’t miss them so much in the long trek from filming little boxes to filming her movie.
as they travel down the street, she’s wishing she hadn’t chosen tonight to break in the new shoes she’s spent far, far too much on (though, she supposes her view of her finances is still not exactly based on reality, because she can totally afford them). lottie has never even really been that big a fan of designer products, but the idea of buying a pair of shoes for her twenty-first came from emilia, when she told her about what she did with her first few paycheques. the lavender medusa aevitas platform heels add a pop of pastel colour to the black, form fitting dress that barely covers her ass. maybe lottie doesn’t quite feel like herself, but she knows she feels like she looks good, and that’s all that matters. they walk and she’s so stuck in her head, thinking about how other people must be seeing her that she doesn’t even notice that they’ve turned down a completely different road than jack had said they would be. he watches her like a hawk, but she’s just trying to keep up with him and keep her shoulders back, their arms looped together. emilia’s not out with them, which feels unnatural, but she supposes that she might have suggested they bring autumn and she doesn’t have the heart to ask her not to invite the blonde to things. it just looks bitter, in more ways than one and that’s the last thing she wants her friends to think of her.
it doesn’t help that they’ve heard her music but never actually spoken to her about wes outside of their initial conversations. they all seem to circle around the topic awkwardly, especially now that they’re both friends with autumn. so she supposes this is just what’ll be like, until autumn decides she wants to change up her arm candy, or something. that doesn’t seem likely, though, the way she’s been continuously hinting at the romance between she and wes’ characters on the show, trying to use their relationship to secure love from the fans. maybe charlotte just views her actions as devious because of her own bias, but she doesn’t think that’s true.
that’s what’s on her mind as they finally get to the line of the club, though they swiftly move past all the people waiting and skip to the front. lottie raises an eyebrow at jack and he gives her a grin. “don’t worry, we have a special guest among us.” she doesn’t know enough about the clubs in vancouver to question it, she just hands over her i.d. and grins when they let her in, feeling that familiar giddiness that it’s her birthday. they move through a neon pink lit up room and through a curtain where all of a sudden, she’s hit with a chorus of ‘surprise’ from a crowd of club-goers who actually seem to be cast, crew and friends. immediately she does a double take, placing her hand over her heart and almost stumbling in her shoes. she immediately collapses into giggles over all of it, turning to look at jack accusingly. “you are so sneaky!” she smacks his arm with her clutch and he points out emilia who comes over to her, pulling her into a tight hug. “you didn’t actually think we were going to let you get away without a proper birthday celebration, right?” she points out and lottie rolls her eyes. “you guys are ridiculous.” then she pouts. “thank you so much, this is amazing.” she glances around, noticing a few people from set who wave at her and hold up glasses towards her in celebration.
they make their way to a cordoned off v.i.p. area and it’s impossible to not notice him lingering in the corner as emilia brings over a line of shots for the main cast, including the people who play charlotte’s parents who look like they’re having as much fun as everyone else. wes is here and lottie doesn’t know whether to be elated or uncomfortable, because where he is, so is autumn, inside her metaphorical inner circle, picking up a shot before she even gets to ask what they are. “to lottie!” the blonde declares. “happy birthday!” charlotte picks up her own and decides that she can’t possibly spend this night being bitter... and if it lingers, at least the alcohol might help her forget. everyone else follows suit as they take their first shots of the night. it’s smoothe but it burns on the way down and lingers in her throat as she shakes her head uncomfortably, grinning all the way. everyone begins to talk and she shuffles through the people, offering up hugs and having quick conversations until she finally lands on wes and they have the excuse to talk to one another. “thank you for coming.” she offers, almost robotically, the same thing she’s said to everyone else. what is really means in this case, though, is that she had no idea he’d be there even when the surprise had become apparent. “they let you out every now and then, don’t they?”

the angst, the betrayal, the late night texts / closed starter for @violetleaves
Tumblr media
it’s not until twenty minutes without wes passed that lottie actually began to believe he wasn’t going back. jordan noticed quickly, despite his lack of perceptiveness usually, that she was a little off as the minutes wore on and offered to go downstairs and look for him, suggesting that maybe he’d just gotten caught up with someone talking his ear off, but she struggled to imagine that. considering the typical scowl that he often offered to people on set who weren’t her, she couldn’t picture him suddenly having the patience to listen to someone for a little too long. even with the aid of alcohol and the good mood they were both in. still, she let her kind co-star go off to check. he came back five minutes later with nothing to offer but an apologetic look. out of embarrassment, lottie pretended that he’d sent her a text two minutes later, explaining that something came up and he’d call later. in reality, she was left with questions and disappointment. did this somehow mean he’d changed his mind about even being ‘casual’ with her? she couldn’t help but feel a little betrayed, though some part of her was ready to hold out for some perfect explanation. she knew that wes came with complications, but she wasn’t aware that it was as bad as him playing cinderella, disappearing without a trace at the stroke of midnight. the spell was up and lottie was no longer living in that hazy dream where they were alone and couldn’t stop touching.
at the very least, she had jordan. he isn’t the worst second choice in the world, with his curly hair styled from the day on set and the fun shirt she couldn’t help but compliment. his smile was dazzling and he had a habit of saying the most ridiculous things just to make her laugh, even if he wasn’t who she wanted. they spent another forty minutes up there on the rooftop balcony alone and it was a decent bandaid for the wound of abandonment she was sporting. when they came back down to the rest of the party, his jacket was on her shoulders and they spent a couple more hours dancing and playing games with everyone who was still there. when emilia asked her where wes went, she made something up, knowing her roommates would judge big time if they knew the truth. as the party winds down, jordan sticks around to help with the clean up and by the time he’s finally leaving, she has to jog to his car to give him his jacket back. some part of her wonders if he’d forgotten it on purpose, but she supposes she doesn’t mind. it’s a salve for her ego to think of herself as wanted.
lottie pours herself into her bed, exhausted at two a.m., after saying goodnight to her equally tired and tipsy roommates. wes, of course, is on her mind as she pulls her blankets tight up over her shoulders. her phone sits on the bed beside her and though she wishes she was the kind of person who could stubbornly ignore her feelings, she reaches out to it. for a moment, she holds it to her chest as she thinks about what she wants to say, but she still spends another three minutes trying to figure out the perfect way to word it before she can send it. she knows she has every reason to be upset, but she still sometimes feels like she has to walk on eggshells with wes. he’s been so much better, but having feelings for him seems to run a risk of getting hurt. she doesn’t know him well enough to trust he won’t flip the switch on her again out of the blue. pressing send, she doesn’t wait to see if he responds, she just places her phone on the bedside table and pulls the blanket over her head, groaning. she’d rather sleep and see in the morning if he responds. either way, it’s not like he’ll be able to avoid her for long. their next day of filming looms in the distance and she’s sure he knows it.
charlotte [2:04 AM]:: hey, not sure why you dipped early but i hope you’re okay. figure it must have been pretty big since you didn’t say goodbye. i’d really appreciate like.. an apology or an explanation or both. i think i deserve that much.

Endangered | Chapter Nine
Paul Lahote x OFC
Chapter One | Chapter Two | Chapter Three | Chapter Four | Chapter Five | Chapter Six | Chapter Seven | Chapter Eight
Summary: Vampires and wolves are not the only supernatural creatures to walk the earth, and they are certainly not the only ones in Forks, Washington when Charlotte Annabeth Swan, "Anna", moves in with her uncle after the unfortunate demise of her parents.
Some may misidentify her as a witch, but that’s fine, she would rather them think that anyway. But the Volturi know the truth, and they are closing in on her.

November
I take a deep breath as I sit on the beach. Closing my eyes to focus on the energy around me, setting my hands down on either side of me, I feel a low hum of the magic running through the sand. When I start to see light through my eyelids, I slowly open them.
Little golden threads are everywhere, showing their connections. With so many pieces of sand on the beach, it just looks like a sea of gold. The threads in the water move with the waves. There are even gold threads coming from me, connecting myself to my surroundings. If I focus hard enough, I can pick these threads up. Twirling some around my fingers, I pull them towards me, creating a huge wave crashing on the beach.
Another thread leaves me and leads behind me. I follow it with my eyes, all the way to Paul. This is probably how I can feel his emotions, and he can feel mine. I touch it lightly, and his head darts in my direction, meeting my eyes, panic sends its way through the thread, and I smile at him, reassuring him everything is fine. Nodding, he goes back to helping Sam bring out the food Emily made.
I return to looking over the ocean. Usually doing this drains me, I had been going to local parks or the more common trails to explore the connections, but here, it energizes me. Like the waves welcome me with every break. I pull them closer and closer to me until the cold water touches my toes.
“Anna?” A soft voice breaks me out of the spell, and I jump a bit despite myself.
“Sorry,” I say, recognizing Paul’s presence behind me.
“What were you doing?” He sits down next to me, and I instinctively lean into him.
“Just taking a moment, I haven’t been here in a bit.”
“Maybe you should stop working yourself so hard then,” he puts an arm around me, letting me lay my head on his shoulder.
“Paul...”
“Seriously Anna. In the last two months, I don’t think I’ve seen you take a break once.”
“I’m taking a break now, “I point out.
“This barely counts,” he says. He’s told me he can feel how tired I am. He’s started driving me to school again just so I can sleep a few extra minutes, and worried that I wasn’t able to focus on the road.
I don’t have a response, even though I can admit that Bella’s situation had worsened. Before, I had been concerned when she couldn’t make it through the night without screaming, but now, I was exasperated. There was nothing I could do. Countless hours of studying magic and I had come up with nothing for a broken soul. Paul sighs and pulls me closer.
“You don’t have to do this by yourself, you’re pushing yourself because you think you are vulnerable. You aren’t. You have us,” his tone is serious.
“You have bigger things to worry about,” I say, but he just shakes his head.
“You are the only thing I worry about.” There is a finality in his statement, and I don’t push back. We sit in silence for a few minutes, watching the waves crash onto the shore. Paul’s warmth keeps away the chill in the air, and I know I’ll be sad when the snow starts to sick. Even now, there was ice and slush everywhere.
Hearing Sam call our names, we head back to them, hand in hand. Emily, ever the caretaker she was, had started enforcing weekly dinners or hangouts as a pack. Giving the boys, and me, a reprieve for a small amount of time.
“Promise me for your birthday, you’ll really take a break? No reading, no studying, no practicing. Just for the day? And then get a full night of sleep?” Paul asks before getting closer to the group.
“The only way that’ll happen is if I’m not home,” I mention.
“Hm, well it’s a good thing you have a close friend with a whole house and extra bedrooms.”
“I can’t stay over at Emily’s house every weekend, plus it’s the day after a holiday. She might have plans.”
“Yeah, her plans are with us, everyone, including Charlie, is invited over to the Clearwater’s. And really, your birthday is the holiday.”
“Are you insinuating you have something planned?” I ask.
“Of course, I do,” he gives me an incredulous look, “You really think I wouldn’t?”
“No, I just think that maybe it’s unnecessary,” I say, shrugging, “With everything going on, it seems trivial.”
“Nothing about your birthday is trivial.”
---------------------------
We finally are back to the group, ending our conversation. I give Kim a hug, sitting down next to her. She’s a quiet girl, but incredibly kind. Jared was in fact, head over heels for her. It was almost too sweet to poke fun at like he used to with Paul. Almost.
My birthday was the Friday after Thanksgiving, and personally, I did not have high hopes for the day. With Bella still in her depressive state, and Charlie so focused on her, I felt selfish to want to acknowledge it. It was the first birthday I would spend without my parents, and I would legally be an adult. Charlie really didn’t owe me anything after that.
Paul made it known he thought that that was absolutely out of the question, and I was to be ready by noon to go over to Emily’s. Charlie was already informed of the plans.
Thanksgiving was a tense affair. Paul had given me the rundown on Leah and Sam, and my heart broke for her. They couldn’t avoid each other, and as much as I wanted to be friends with Leah, I didn’t know how she would react to me.
What Paul failed to mention was that his father would be there as well.
“You can’t just spring meeting your dad on me!” I gaped at him from the passenger’s seat of my car.
“Anna, we are constantly together, eventually he was going to start asking about you. The only reason I haven’t brought you to my house is because I knew he would ask you a million questions,” he was surprisingly calm about this, not even looking away from the road.
“Does he know?”
“About the wolf thing? Yeah, I shifted in front of him the first time, and he knows that you’re my imprint. He already loves you, don’t worry.”
“I would have, I don’t know, looked nicer?” I looked down at my plain jeans and sweater, with just a simple long sleeve underneath. This was supposed to be a casual affair.
“You look gorgeous, stop worrying,” Paul says grabbing my hand, but I glared at him.
“Remind me to make Emily yell at you,” I said looking away from him, but not letting go of his hand. He chuckled lowly, promising to remind me.
His dad is the first person to greet us as we park in front of Sue and Harry’s house, cars already lined up in the driveway. He calls out our names, a smile brightening his face. One can definitely see the resemblance to his son. He was tall and muscular for a guy his age, probably mid-fifties, with the same sharp jaw and nose. His hair was long and pulled back into a braid, and he and Paul had the same color eyes. Walking over to us, he stops in front of me.
“Hi, I’m Anna.” I hold out my hand, but he ignores it, wrapping me in a hug.
“Anna! I’m so glad Paul finally brought you around!” he exclaims, “All I ever hear about is Anna this, Anna that, oh dad Anna is so amazing.” He laughs, letting me go, he is about to begin speaking when Paul interrupts.
“Okay! Thank you dad for that,” he says, and his dad gives him a hug as well.
“No, wait, I’d love to hear more about this Mr. Lahote,” I smirk, sticking my tongue out at Paul when he shoots me a glare, putting a hand on his dad’s shoulder
He slaps his son’s hand away, guiding me inside the house. Paul follows us with a heavy sigh.
“Please, call me Terrence, or Terry. Now Anna, tell me, is Paul being good to you? He may be six foot five now, but I can still teach him a lesson,” he whispers to me.
“I’m sure you could, but really, he’s amazing.”
“That’s good to hear. I’m so happy he has you. His attitude has been a complete 180. But enough about him, tell me about yourself, Anna.”
We fall into an easy conversation before he is pulled away by Billy Black, asking about a carburetor, which is mostly lost on me. I float around, saying my hellos to the myriad of people in the house.
Harry beckons me over when Leah appears out of her room, sulking in the corner.
“Leah, meet Anna, Charlie’s niece. You met when you were little before,” he says, trying to coax Leah away from the wall.
“Nice to see you again Leah,” I say, giving her a warm smile, but she is steadfast in her sour mood. Honestly, I can’t blame her entirely. Sam and Emily are sitting at the table, and while they are sure to keep their PDA to a minimum, it still must hurt.
“Hi,” she says stoically.
There’s an awkward silence, but Charlie finally makes an appearance, calling me from across the room, I politely excuse myself and make my way over to him.
“Hey, is it just you?” I already know the answer, but I ask anyway.
“Yeah,” Charlie says with a frustrated sigh. He gives me a side hug, and I notice how sallow and tired his face looks. It makes me feel even worse like I’m an added burden on top of his broken daughter. At least he came and can be around his friends for the day, not worrying about running upstairs to shake Bella out of yet another nightmare.
I find Paul standing next to Sam and make my way towards him, letting myself enjoy the rest of the day.
-----------------------------------
On the morning of my birthday, I am awakened by a familiar knock on the door. Sitting up in bed, Charlie enters the room, somewhat awkwardly as always.
“Hey, happy birthday,” he says.
I force a smile, and he sits down on the edge of my bed, an envelope in his hands.
“I’m going to give you your gift later, but there’s something I figured you would want now,” his voice is hoarse like he is holding in sadness. I look at him in confusion as he hands me the letter, and a small gasp chokes me, my fingers ghosting over the familiar handwriting.
To Anna, on your 18th Birthday.
“It’s something your parent’s lawyer gave to me when you moved here. There’s some other stuff too, legal documents and things that now pass to you, but that can wait,” Charlie explains.
I’m still speechless on my bed.
“Paul and Emily have told me about their plans for today. So, don’t feel bad about not being here today. I’m sure it won’t be as much fun-“
I cut him off by throwing my arms around him in a hug.
“Thank you, for everything,” I say into his shoulders, tears threatening to fall.
“Of course, I know things have been rough around here, but I want you to know I love you, and I will always be here for you,” he says hugging me back tightly.
“I know, I love you.”
“I love you too kid, I’ll give you a moment,” he says, and I nod. I stare at the letter until I hear Charlie’s footsteps down the stairs.
Taking a deep breath, I brace myself as I open the letter.
My Dear Anna,
If you’re reading this, it means that unfortunately, we are gone. I am so sorry your dad and I are not there for your birthday, and for every accomplishment and holiday next. My greatest wish it that I had more time to prepare you for this. I know you are strong, but to put you through this is my deepest regret.
You are my pride and joy, Anna. We love you more than anything on this Earth. I hope that we have given you enough happy memories to hold close to you and to know that no matter what, we will always be proud of you and what path you choose in this life.
It may be sad that we are separated now, but we know that souls have ties that last over lifetimes, and I can only hope that one day we are reunited. Until then, find happiness, find love, and allow yourself to accept it. You deserve nothing less than the world.
I know you have questions, but there is one thing you need to know above all else: beware of the Volturi. Do not trust them. Their kind has run us off before, and I fear their bloodlust has been reignited.
Someone got too close to us, and I’m trying my best to throw them off our trail, but they are many, and I am only one person. If I do not survive, know that they do not know about you, your dad and I agreed to protect you above all else. Forks should be safe for you, but I urge you to learn what you can and protect yourself in our absence.
We love you so much. Be brave my girl.
Love,
Mom and Dad
Tears fall down my face as I try to balance my emotions, careful to not trigger a reaction to alert Paul. Behind her letter is torn pages from a notebook, detailing information on who the Volturi were, their leader, and their powers. The trips my mother was taking were to lure them to a certain city before disappearing, throwing off their trail. Somehow, they found her anyway.
It hurts me to know that Forks wasn’t as safe as she thought, but at least I’m not alone. I think she would have loved the people I had learned to call family. She did her best to protect me, and I’m going to do my best to protect them.

The fall solstice is only days from breaking over the Crimson City. Heat is a rare commodity to the residents of Chicago, so they part with it bitterly every year at the annual End-of-Summer Festival. The season goes out with a bang and the rumble of food trucks every summer as patrons waltz their way down the Chicago art walk, indulge in all things saucy and boozy at the Chicago Bourbon and BBQ Festival, get in touch with nature at the Chicago craft beer tasting at the zoo, and shop at the Chicago flea market littered with street merchants from all over the country. Of course, the real selling point every year is the annual Chicago bar crawl, which sweeps guests through Cook County’s best bars, like The Pint, Rousseau’s, Cataleya, Wolves and Skyfall Bar. To attract more customers, each bar, restaurant, and club—even what goes on behind—will be steeply discounted for the ultimate occasion.
And if you’re a little territorial, don’t sweat it—no metal detectors will be necessary at the End-of-Summer Festival. Who would want to ruin all this fun, anyway ?!
Part I of the End-of-Summer Festival begins at 7:15 P.M. CST and will conclude on TUESDAY, SEPTEMBER 15 at 7 P.M. CST. You may continue your non-event  threads through the event, however we ask you don’t post any starters unless they pertain to the event
Under the cut are plot slots you may claim for this event; just send your preferred slot to the main. Plots slots are a first come, first serve basis.
We’re going to allow each person to choose two plot slots for two characters max .If there are any leftovers, we’ll let members know when they can sign up for thirds. Please try to pick one pertaining to your character and plot with those that take the other spots.
You’ll notice that some of these plots are public, so feel free to have your character react to them/ notice them even if they aren’t happening directly to your character. However, if something feels like it happened privately to another character, please check in with their Mun to see if it’s okay for your character to know.
To be clear: these are not the only things that happen to your character during this plot drop and you are more than welcome to cook up your own trouble.
1. IRA EVANS talks BIRDIE MENDOZA into taking five shots in under ten minutes. Now, it’s up to IRA EVANS to lug BIRDIE MENDOZA to each location on the bar crawl. Good luck—we hear they’re sloppy.

28. [ GWENDOLYN "GWEN" ARNOLDS ] is probably the only poor sober soul, and they use this to charge [ JACKSON MARSTON ] to be their DD. However, they both witness when [ GWENDOLYN "GWEN" ARNOLDS’s] car is towed away for parking in the wrong spot.
29. A discounted tattoo shop sits along the art walk and is charging only $20 for a small tattoo. [ ANDREA 'ANDY'PEREZ ] says they’ll pay for it—and dinner—if [ DARCY FAUST ] lets them choose the tattoo. [ DARCY FAUST ] agrees but is horrified to find [ UP TO PLAYER DISCRETION ] permanently engraved on their skin.
30. [ OLIVIA MADDEN ] notices an odd tattoo that glows on someone’s forearm. Several straight lines? Before they can inquire about it, [ CHARACTER O2 ] tackle them mistaking them for being a thief.
31. [ DANICA SINCLAIR ] wins a dancing contest against [ UDORN “YURI” SASIPARN ], but twists their ankle in the process. [ UDORN “YURI” SASIPARN ] agrees to help them along only if they declare them the winner.
32. [ ANTON VOLKOV ] lost a bet with [ KONSTATIN VASILE ] and now wanders the street with a bright pink wig, fishnet stockings, & a clown mask.
33. [ VICTOR 'VIC' VOLKOV ] strikes a conversation with [ IGOR VASILE ] over a piece of artwork.  [ VICTOR 'VIC' VOLKOV ] buys the artwork only to find out it was counterfeit from the Art Museum. [ IGOR VASILE ] ends up purchasing the real one. They start to argue which one is the real one.
34. [ CHARLOTTE "CHARLIE" ARDEN] is running a booth at the flea market and notices [ CHARACTER W2 ] pocket something from an adjacent vendor. [ CHARLOTTE "CHARLIE" ARDEN ] promises not to squeal if [ CHARACTER W2 ] works with them at the booth for an hour.
35.  [ JESSIKA DELMONICO] & [ KELLEN WASHINGTON ] break out into a paint fight at an abandoned art booth. [ JESSIKA DELMONICO ] is splashed with a neon green paint in the face.  [ KELLEN WASHINGTON ] tries to run away, but not before [ CHARACTER X2 ] splashes their back with a brown paint. Did they shit themselves??
36. [ CHARACTER Z2 ] ducks out of the way from a flying object that crashes the window of a closed shop. The alarms start to blare, and before [ CHARACTER Z2 ] can leave the scene they see [ CHARACTER A3 ] about to launch something else.
37. [ TALIA ARSLAN ] eats a bad hot dog from a food truck, and [ DANICA SINCLAIR ] helps them to the nearest bar for a bathroom and a cool drink. [ TALIA ARSLAN ] talks [ DANICA SINCLAIR ] into doing shots when they’re feeling better.
38. [ LEV VASILE ] takes a few healthy tokes of the joint they’ve been saving for an occasion, and [ GENEVIEVE BISSET ] asks if they’re willing to share. They both light up and head on a self-guided tour to the food trucks.
39. [ CHARACTER F3 ] and [ CHARACTER G3 ] get into an argument with [ MATHIAS ATTANO ] after they lose at a drinking game for the third time in a row. [ MATHIAS ATTANO ] has been cheating the whole time and now has to lose [ CHARACTER F3 ] and [ CHARACTER G3 ] in the crowd.

More Than A Number: why violence against black trans women is barely in the media
In the past two years violence among the black trans community has increasingly been brought into the light of the media. When I use the term “increasingly”, I use that term very lightly as this small amount of media coverage has only slightly grown compared to the nonexistent media coverage of the black trans community in the past, especially coverage on black trans women. The real question I have, and I’m sure many people have, is why it took until there was a vast amount of death and violence in the trans community, specifically against black trans women, for the media to represent this community. Even now there is barely any news about black trans women other than to report their deaths and even that is very insufficient. Even with coverage the media tends to only portray these women as numbers. Reporting them as statistics that happen to be increasing. They turn into a hashtag. Into a trend until eventually these women are grouped into a narrative and then forgotten or looked over as an unfortunate event. These women are more than a number and to solely just view them as a statistic is extremely dangerous as it feeds into the erasure of black trans women. These women are people. They belong to families. They are daughters, mothers and partners. They deserve the coverage of a normal human being because that is what they are.
Representation for black trans women in the public is barely even visible in the eyes of the media. Something as important as safety for this community and something that should be seen as a human right is barely even given to them in the media. The fact that some of these women are even being reported in the news and media is partially due to the Black Lives Matter movement going on currently. Not because the world thought it was right but because the black community has stood up and said that it is time for them to be represented correctly. Society as a whole has started to be held accountable for ignoring black voices. This raises the question of why violence against black trans women is not being reported in main forums of media? Especially largely utilized media forms like the national news we watch on television or in the papers. This also reinforces the fact that the Black Lives Matter movement is so essential for not only the representation of the black community but for black trans women who are already viewed as less than a person. The only real form of media, I have personally seen, that has slightly represented black trans women is on social media. I see it through threads on twitter or insta story posts but shouldn’t a large pattern of death in an entire community be seen as news that should be reported on a national level or on forums of media that are supposed to inform the public daily. Even then the coverage of black trans women should go beyond reporting their death rate. They should show these women living, accomplishing, and thriving. Correct and equal representation is such an important action that should be taken into consideration when it comes to the lives of a large community. Because the media has only represented these women as a statistic, I want everyone reading this to know the names of the black trans women who have recently passed so you are able to hear part of their story and so that they are seen as more than just a number.
Dana Martin. She was 31 years old. According to the Human Rights Campaign and an Alabama-based trans advocate named Daroneshia Duncan-Boyd, Dana was “a person loved by many”

Bee Love Slater. She was 23 years old. She is remembered by her loved ones as someone “with a really, really sweetheart” who “never harmed anyone”
Itali Marlowe. She was 29 years old. She is remembered by Sue Kerr, an LGBTQ+ columnist, as a person who “deserved to live a full and robust life.”
Brianna “BB” Hill. She was 30 years old. She is remembered as a “beloved member of her community” and a person who “loved spreading joy by sharing funny videos on her Facebook page.”
Yahira Nesby. She was 33 years old. She is remembered by her family and friends as “a good spirit.”
Layleen Polanco. She was 27 years old. She is remembered as “a sweet, amazing [..] and generous human being.”
Monika Diamond. She was 34 years old. She was highly involved in the Charlotte LGBTQ and nightlife community.
Nina Pop. She was 28 years old. She was “deeply loved by her family, friends, and community.”
Dominique “Rem’mie” Fells. She was 27 years old. She is remembered by a friend as a “unique and beautiful soul.”
Riah Milton. She was 25 years old. She is remembered as for her “resilience and optimism as a person facing a trasphobic, mysoginistic, and racist society.”
Brayla Stone. She was 17 years old. She is remembered by Tori Cooper, HRC director of community engagement for the Transgender Justice Initiative as “a child just beginning to live her life.”
Merci Mack. She was 22 years old. She was remembered by her loved ones as a “beautiful friend.”
Shaki Peters. She was 32 years old. She was beloved by her family.
Bree Black. She was 27 years old. Not much information has been released but protesters are fighting for her justice.
Dior H Ova. Age unknown. She is remembered as a “beautiful soul full of life and love.”
Queasha D Hardy. She was 22 years old. She is remembered as “extremely loved by her community” and as “truly one of a kind.”
Aja Raquell Rhone-Spears. She was 32 years old. She was beloved by her family and remembered as a “vibrant personality.”
Too long have these stories been misreported or even unreported. A change must be made to not only the media system but the justice system. Say their names, tell their stories, and most importantly view these women as more than just a number.

Hex Life edited by Christopher Golden & Rachel Autumn Deering
Tumblr media
Eighteen tales of witches and magic all written by women.  A few are set in particular authors’ existing series.  The inclusiveness of black characters and authors elevates an already wonderful collection.  This is an ARC that was received late, contained in the box of books due to be published in January.  This actually was published in October and is available now.  I highly recommend this to pretty much anyone.  4.5 out of 5.
Tumblr media
“An Invitation to a Burning” by Kat Howard
The town of Merrinvale refuses to admit that witches are needed to keep ordinary magics working.  Instead they burn them.  When villager Ronald angrily takes offense to a woman, she tends to disappear.  Now his sight is focused on Sage.  Very short, but chock full of emotion and sisterhood.  4.5 out of 5.
“Widows’ Walk” by Angela Slatter
The four widows living together on Carter Lane are suspected to be witches by many in the town of Mercy’s Brook, but are not harassed by locals.  When young Chelsea Margaret Bloom is caught stealing milk from their porch to dull her hunger, the women get involved.  Absolutely perfect from start to finish, with a neat twist at the end.  5 out of 5.
“Black Magic Momma: An Otherworld Story” by Kelley Armstrong
Eve Levine is a dark witch who is half-demon.  Her sole focus in life is keeping her daughter safe.  To do so, she works as a retrieval agent, obtaining items wanted by others.  Her latest job attracts dangerous attention.  I’ve not read any books in this series yet, although the first volume is in my ebook library.  I found this story moderately interesting, but not quite up to the previous two stories in this series.  Perhaps it in a matter of context.  3.5 out of 5.
“The Night Nurse” by Sarah Langan
Having a third child that she never wanted, Esme is approached by Wendy Broadchurch at the Brooklyn Children’s Museum.  Wendy is a night nurse, offering to help Esme once the new baby is born.  Already overwhelmed, Esme agrees.  At first she is happy, but soon doubts creep in.  Really creepy and, to be honest, a little more raw than I was comfortable with.  3 out of 5.
“The Memories of Trees” by Mary SanGiovanni
The Faithful plan to hang Martha Weede and her young ward, Ellena, threatened by their refusal to worship in the New Church and to accept the God of Technology.  Instead Martha and Ellena honor the Old Religion, the one older than the now fallen Christianity.  While graphic, it not only harks back to the witch hunts in New England, but warns how easy it is to fall back into that mindset of fear, prejudice, and craving for power.  Loved this story!  4.5 out of 5.
“Home:  A Morganville Vampire Story” by Rachel Caine
A witch has appeared in Morganville, one Oliver had killed centuries ago.  She’s a danger to both the vampire and human community.  She wants Oliver’s blood and will destroy everyone to get it.  Wow, how did I miss this series?  I’ve already got it downloaded from my library to read next.  A short story that makes you eager to know more about all the characters is a great story.  I almost got a Eureka vibe from this, only with vamps instead of mad scientists.  4.5 out of 5.
“The Deer Wife” by Jennifer McMahon
Julie has been meeting her lover in the woods for four years, a witch who comes to her in many forms.  She knows she shouldn’t, but is drawn back time after time.  Julie wants to join the witch forever, be able to transform as her lover does, but the witch resists.  Julie has a son, but Levi is now nineteen, with a girlfriend.  And filled with resentment for the death of his father.  McMahon doen’t give a lot of details, particularly in regards to the death of Julie’s husband and whether the witch was more directly responsible.  Or whether it is love or enchantment that keeps her returning.  An old myth tweaked into an interesting romantic tale.  3.5 out of 5.
“The Dancer” by Kristin Dearborn
Paul Baker is called to the Weavers’ farm to help with the reports by Ani, their daughter, of haunted activity.  They aren’t pleased with his solution.  He’s called back a second time to find the situation is more dire than he expected and takes action.  I don’t know about this one.  It almost reads like a rough outline or a missing scene from a longer story.  Disappointed as it had great potential as a novella or a book.  3 out of 5.
“Bless Your Heart” by Hillary Monahan
It is never smart to go after a Southern mother’s baby boy, especially if she also has powers.  Pammy Washington and her bully of a son deserved everything they got for the years Colton had tormented Tucker.  Her late Mama warned Audrey to never cook when mad, but a woman can only stand so much.  I laughed at what happened to Pammy.  Not nice, I know, but I grew up in the South and I know women like her.  I’d bet good money that she was head cheerleader in high school, prom queen as well.  She really did get what she deserved, bless her heart.  For those who might not know, “bless your heart” is the genteel Southern way of saying “you’re a piece of shit”.  4 out of 5.
“The Debt” by Ania Ahlborn
After Karolin’s mother died, her father began to change, becoming less talkative, more distant.  He suddenly decides to take her to Poland, to visit his childhood home where his mother lives.  After arriving with no sign of his mother, Greg takes Karolin deep into the nearby woods to hunt for mushrooms.  When her back was turned, he disappears.  Shivers.  No happy or satisfying ending here.  Just the most horrific ending you could imagine.  3.5 out of 5.
“Toil & Trouble:  A Dark-Hunter Hellchaser Story” by Sherrilyn Kenyon & Madaug Kenyon
The witches of Carrion Hill are constantly visited by those seeking a glimpse of their future as well as a way to avoid the bad part.  As time goes on, there are less and less witches and more stupid humans who refuse to listen to the advice given.  Eeri, sold to the witches by her family, hates them, desires freedom and money.  A bit of Shakespeare is threaded throughout the story.  I love the Bard, but I don’t really think it adds to the story as much as the authors might believe it does.  Another series that I haven’t begun reading as yet.  3 out of the 5.
“Last Stop on Route Nine” by Tananarive Due
Charlotte and her 12-year-old cousin decide to drive together from their grandmother’s funeral in Tallahassee to a luncheon in Gracetown, a place both Charlotte’s mother and Kai’s father had fled as soon as they could and never returned to.  Somehow they are lost, caught in a smothering fog before coming through the other side to find a wicked old woman who curses them.  Here’s a sweet bit of horror with the mention of some real-life places peppered into the story.  4 out of 5.
“Where Relics Go to Dream and Die” by Rachel Autumn Deering
After years of conjuring the witch through the flame of an almost spent candle, the old man was dying.  One last conversation with the woman he loves leads to a dream or, rather, a memory that changes the past and the present.  A bit scrambled, but strangely compelling nonetheless.  So many questions.  3.5 out of 5.
“This Skin” by Amber Benson
Frances wanted to confess to homicide detective Harry Longfellow, waiting for just the right moment.  The reaction isn’t what she expected.  Frances comes across as a ten-year-old sociopath.  Unusual story.  I don’t know whether I like it or not.  It begs for more.  3 out of 5.
“Haint Me Too” by Chesya Burke
It’s been 40 years since slavery ended, but there are plenty who would like to just ignore the Emancipation Proclamation.  Shea and her family lived on the Myrtle House plantation, currently owned by the Petersons.  Myrtle House is haunted by the haint of a black woman who was murdered after poisoning her owners.  When local whites try to prevent black families and white sharecroppers from either leaving to go North or demanding better agreements, Shea can not only help her family, but the haint.  Enthralling tale of the South and how little it had changed after the War.  A little scary, but also empowering.  Could be considered a coming-of-age story for Shea.  4.5 out of 5.
“The Nekrolog” by Helen Marshall
I’m not sure how to describe this story.  It involves immigrants leaving Russia, death that isn’t, the State’s experiments in psychic abilities, and much more.  Enchanting and intriguing, a story I wish had been longer.  It really is almost as convoluted as an old Russian tale.  4.5 out of 5.
“Gold Among the Black” by Alma Katsu
Greta, an orphan, owns nothing.  Her only friend is Jesper, her dog.  She works hard at the castle in exchange for food during the day, refusing to sleep there at night because she can’t bring Jesper with her.  Instead they curl up together in the woods.  But Greta is getting old enough to have men watching.  Another worker at the castle has also told her that there are rumors that she is a witch and Jesper is her familiar.  What does she do now?  Nice, a bit of romance with the fantasy.  3.5 out of 5.
“How to Become a Witch-Queen” by Theodora Goss
The newly widowed queen is worried about her son, the soon-to-be king, marrying off his sister to some stranger.  She also needs to consider her own future now that she’s free.  A wild and interesting view of what life might’ve been like for Snow White after her Happily Ever After.  New choices, old friends, and a heroine who realizes it is time to take charge of her own life in order to ensure her daughter has choices.  Absolutely perfect!  5 out of 5.

filming: season one, episode 15 | last day time: 7pm location: set for: @violetleaves
Tumblr media
they're at the end. well, almost there, anyway. lottie’s trailer is filled to the brim with flowers to celebrate the end of filming for little boxes but it hasn’t quite hit her yet that she’s finished filming an entire show. all of the time has slipped away in the blink of an eye and their show is steadily airing weekly to an audience that seems to be eating up every second. there isn’t a day where she isn’t discovering new gifs of her and wes, their characters gazing longingly at one another. it’s so strange, to see the two of them on screen together, knowing all the things that had happened behind the scenes of every single shot. in all honesty, it makes her zone out occasionally when she’s trying to get through live tweeting the show for their audience like the producers had asked all of them to.
there's a dinner planned for later that night for just the roommates, celebrating their last night all living in the house they’d shared for the season. lottie is already missing their rooftop balcony and her bright, sunny room. she’d made a sanctuary for herself away from set in such a short amount of time. going off to film something else where she isn’t going to be working and living with two of her closest friends? it feels bizarre to say the least. at the same time, though, she’s thrilled to have a movie lined up already, so quickly after wrapping on the show. she’s realised lately that a lot of this life is like that. going, going, going. despite the excitement, things have also been a little weird. there's been a strange shadow cast over all of it ever since her birthday, when she and wes had gotten drunk and out of control. there was never any time to take it all in, what had happened then or anything that had happened since. her agent has been sending a plethora of celebration emoji filled messages in the last few days, not just for finishing up with filming the show, but for something she’s had to redownload tiktok onto her phone to find. she’s gone viral.
some throwaway video of a song she never planned to do anything with, an outlet for her to express her sadness over a man she still has such intense and deep feelings for is now at two million likes and growing. the sudden jump after the time had passed makes little sense to her, but somehow she supposed the algorithm had picked up her original music and it resonated with enough people to garner such unexpected attention. omg, isn’t this the girl from little boxes?? or some variation of it was splattered across the comments, somehow sending their ratings up and earning her the apparent approval of everyone on set to a new degree. with autumn around, she’d wondered if she would have to get used to playing second fiddle to their new favourite cash cow. now, maybe she’s bringing in something of her own that they hadn’t been expecting. the only problem with all of this was that despite wes’ clear approval of the song the last time they’d spoken about it, this sort of popularity is different. lottie isn’t sure what to expect from him, he’s suddenly turned right back into autumn’s loyal boyfriend once more. it makes the things he’d said (which emilia had confirmed after charlotte expressed confusion a few nights later over it) feel cheap. did he not remember? surely five drinks wasn’t enough to make him blackout that much, but she supposes if he really isn’t a drinker... and her memory hadn’t been that perfect either. she mostly remembers the important parts, like the gift he’d given her and the kisses they’d shared.
safe to say that the sight of him without the blonde she so loathes glued to his hip makes charlotte want to make a beeline for him, knowing there’s nothing else to be filmed with just the two of them. “hey,” she greets him chipperly, giving him a subtle once over as she assesses the way he takes her in. “i feel like we haven’t even gotten a second to speak. it’s all been so crazy.” she’s smiling as she speaks, because there’s a fondness she has for the craziness, despite not being so used to it yet. “i guess you probably saw the stuff about my song.” now her arms cross over her chest. “my agent is insisting that i record it. i told her i wasn’t even sure it was finished yet, but there’s a time limit to these things, apparently. we need to capitalize.” her eyes widen with that last word, imitating the woman who she actually is fairly fond of.

filming: episode 8, day four time: 7:30pm location: charlotte, emilia and jack’s townhouse for: @violetleaves
Tumblr media
it’s finally happening. charlotte’s phone has been going off with texts all day from old friends back home and family settling in to watch the premiere episode of little boxes. part of her doesn’t truly believe it’s actually happening, as if she’s going to wake up and realise she was never starring in an actual show. maybe part of her wishes that were true, because she knows if the response is negative, there’s a chance that this show won’t make it past this first season that they’re filming. still, despite the anxieties, even if the worst happens, there’s no regretting. lottie tries not to believe in things like that. they’d all gotten an early mark, and she’d used hers to come home and get herself and their adorable townhouse ready for the watch party she and her co-stars slash roommates have decided to throw. jack and emilia came in while she was arranging fruit for a platter and when they get to setting out a drink table, she finishes up and heads upstairs to put on something nice. part of her knows there’s a very, very low chance that wes is going to attend, but she still thinks of him as she glances in the mirror, picturing him there sitting on the edge of her bed as she smooths out the sleeveless yellow babydoll dress that was practically begging to finally be worn. her hair sits in the loose, waves, a headband pushing the shorter framing pieces out of her face. throwing on a pair of boots, when she heads back downstairs, she catches the knowing look that jack and emilia give each other. she wants to say something, to insist that it couldn’t possibly be for wes that she looks so cute, since he’s probably not even coming, but she’d feel stupid even bringing it up.
instead, she throws herself into finishing touches as people begin to file in and then finds herself greeting people, making conversation and taking compliments, glowing with excitement despite how... weird set has been. autumn and wes have had a lot of scenes together and their chemistry is arguably palpable and it kind of makes her feel sick, but she’s been improving on her professionalism every day, getting through scenes she once would have found difficult. autumn is hard to read for lottie, she comes across as charismatic, but she’s already been poisoned by the opinion of the guy who arguably still had her heart. every time she finds herself almost liking her, like when they were all at dinner, she does something that puts her off. maybe that’s why when she spots her entering the house with a bigger grin than her and a look that must have been thrown together by a stylist for how casually luxurious it is, charlotte doesn’t immediately smile. or maybe what throws her off is the sight of wes coming in behind her, much to her surprise. her eyes widen and she blinks away, forcing herself to not feel weird about the fact that he just showed up to her house with his ex. the moments where he’d shown her that he’s still on her side feel like bullshit when he’s behaving so confusingly. side stepping a few people, she makes a beeline to the fridge and crouches down, hiding for a little bit and pretending she’s looking for something, rummaging around the drawer with emilia’s almost expired kale.
when she feels ready, she pops back up and autumn is already commanding the room, telling jokes and insisting that people take shots with her. this isn’t necessarily a party, but she supposes they did call it a watch party. hesitantly she makes her way over, laughing at a joke she only catches the end of. it’s then that the temptation to look around to spot wes takes over her, but he’s notably missing from everyone piled on the couch and crowing the living room. brows furrowing, she rolls her eyes, assuming he must be hiding out in the bathroom and regretting his choice to come. jack comes out of seemingly nowhere to distract her from that thought, his arm hooking with hers as he leans into her. “do you think you could grab something from my room?” he questions and she narrows her eyes suspiciously at him, while he wears a perfectly innocent look in return. “just the bag in my drawer. don’t act like weed is so nefarious.” he insists and she rolls her eyes. “fine, only because i love you.” the fact that he doesn’t wanna go upstairs and miss anything isn’t surprising and though lottie is usually just as social, she’s feeling a little subdued.
heading up the stairs, she doesn’t notice the slightly ajar door to her bedroom until she’s got the bag that jack asked for, because she wears she can hear her keyboard being played. walking over with a confused frown, she uses the toe of her boot to inch the door open and her eyes widen when she finds wes inside it. she gives him an incredulous look, arms folding over her chest. “what the hell are you doing in here?” this is the first time they’ve been alone anywhere since the bathroom at the photoshoot and that had been a stretch, if anything. the first episode of their show is coming on in half an hour and he’s up in her bedroom when they’re just barely on speaking terms. she places the bag in her hand on the nearest surface and steps further inside. “i was surprised to see you even came.”

charlotte practically feels a ringing in her ears as someone announces that they’re done filming for the day. she laughs with emilia, the co-star closest to her as the other girl expresses her excitement that this is only the beginning. finally, it feels as if her dreams are coming true. well, at least that she’s on her way to some of them. she's starring in a television show that’s just begun filming its first season, opposite her childhood crush nonetheless. it’s all dizzyingly good, she doesn’t find it hard to be humbled by the opportunity the universe has offered her. she just hopes she can hold on and keep riding this wave. the heels the costume department have her in have started to give her blisters but she can’t feel it as they finish up giving her notes for the day and remind her about the big dinner everyone's going to be at later. she can’t keep the grin off her face as she thanks every crew member she can see on the way back to wardrobe to get out of her clothes. on her way, she spots a familiar mop of dark hair seemingly headed in the same direction and picks up her pace until she's walking in step beside wes.
turning to smile up at him, she almost forgets what she wants to say, laughing before she even gets it out. “sorry, hi!” she bites down on her bottom lip and forces herself to look away as she continues walking, feeling her cheeks warm. taking half a secon to relax herself, she tries again. “today was good. i wish we would have gotten to film another scene together but... we have a bunch coming, obviously.” lottie knows that he’s probably read the scripts just like she has, but she can’t help pointing it out. their characters definitely have an interesting tension between the two of them. remembering what she was told, she perks up again as she speaks. “you’re coming to dinner tonight, right? i think we settled on japanese because apparently it’s directors pick. they texted us all the address.” she asks, mostly because it won’t be as fun to go if wes won’t be there. she wants to get to know him, not just the persona everyone gets to see. they’ve spoken a bit already, but she knows there’s more to find out.                /  @violetleaves
