"E-Emotions are...too complex for me, I-I feel. Any romantic-related ones, that is. At the very least, I get caught up in something...that's hard to explain. Which then leaves me in a frustrating point of...having a loss of words. Each pause, my attempting to put them together. Into something coherent!
"...A writer, left to struggle for words that don't usually abandon her so often... It's troubling. For me, at the least. It's something I'm not used to at all."

Ghost Jam 2023 Results!
Tumblr media
Hey folks! Ghost Jam 2023 has concluded, and now it’s time to share the results! We have, once again, had a rather large turnout, so buckle up for a long post!
This year we had 25 submissions by 31 different developers. That’s 2 more submissions than last year!
Of those submissions, 6 of them were made in the first 72 hours of the jam, qualifying for our 72 hour challenge. 3 of those were even done within the first 24 hours!? That’s a first!
13 of the ghosts were made from scratch/just a single template, with no other pre-made assets, qualifying for our New Assets Only challenge!
Additionally, this year we saw a little more variety in the languages, both spoken language and coding language, used to make the ghosts! One ghost was submitted in Japanese, and another in Russian and Belarusian!
As far as coding languages go, most English ghosts use a language called YAYA (or sometimes the older version, AYA), but we had one entry in Satori, and one in Kawari!
Of the participants in the event, 20 of them were participating in a ghost jam for the first time, and 15 of them released their first ghost as a part of the jam!
Harder to quantify with stats, but still very interesting to note, was the great variety in ghosts that we saw this year! There are a lot of really creative entries that deviate from the standard ghost style. Some are desktop buds, some are focused on a single concept, some pull you into the character’s world, and some are entire games! Give them all a try, there’s a lot of cool stuff here!
With all of that out of the way, let’s see the ghosts! As mentioned, it’s a long post, so check under the cut for the listing!

“why do we only ever talk about shiori in the context of her feelings for juri” because we literally never see her take a single action that isn’t motivated by her obsessive feeling for juri. she might have a life outside of juri, but we, the audience, are certainly not privy to it. the only times we ever see her chatting with friends are either when juri is around or when she is talking about juri. the only times she tries to get a boyfriend are because she knows that they have feelings for juri. she joins the fencing club for, you guessed it! juri. we have no reason to believe that there is any time in shiori’s day where her brain is not going “juri juri juri juri juri juri juri juri juri juri” ad infinitum. so that’s why.

Basic Instinct Chapter 21
A/N: Some angst from Reader-Chan's side as she talks with Akashi's grandma, so heads up! You know the associated warnings at this point. Masterpost
After dinner, Akashi's grandmother had invited you to the drawing room, so the two of you could have a chat about your mother. A topic that always left you feeling sick with anxiety. You didn't knew how she was respond, what she would do. Having been used to an unstable life, you were always extremely hypervigilant about the topic, and you could feel the tension between your shoulder blades. You sat down in front of her, trying not to feel like you were going to throw up. "There is no need to look so frightened, I will not do anything against your will. Seijuro tells me your mother has Borderline Personality Disorder, and from what I've heard about it I can imagine your mother to be quite controlling. That is not my intention and I will not cross any of your boundaries. It's safe." There was something about her saying it was safe that triggered you as you could feel the burning sensation of tears in your eyes. You didn't want to cry in front of Akashi's grandmother without even having said a word about it, you didn't want to break down so easily. You didn't want to seem weak. "Yes, that is true." You managed to say, holding back your tears. "My mom has BPD." Rima nodded calmly, "Has she ever received psychiatric help before?" You inhaled, "Yeah. When she was pregnant she thought it was important, so she could become a better mom." "And did she stop thinking it was important?" You bit your lip as tears leaked from your eyes. You nodded, being unable to respond in words. "When did she stop therapy?" "When I was small, s-she relapsed wh-when I was about n-nine," you hiccuped. Rima looked at you, and couldn't help but feel sorry, for you had lost the mother that you knew at such a tender age. 'She was even younger than Sei-Chan when Shiori passed away. It must be such a painful loss'. "Where's your father?" "On a bussines trip overseas, he is most of the ti-time. I feel like he's just t-trying to escape her." You looked like such an unloved child, it broke Rima's heart in a maternal way. "Does your mother at least take some medication?" You shook your head, as more tears rolled down your face. "Now, I'll see to it what I can do, but I do need to know the grounds of which I can operate. You don't seem to be hiding any bruises, but what about emotional abuse, neglect?" You gritted your teeth. "When she's mad at me, she'll c-call me names and say mean s-stuff." You wiped your face with your sleeve. "L-like," you took a deep breath, trying to say the following sentences without hiccuping over your words, "I'm a parasite that suck away her happiness." Whilst you got the sentence out, the words triggered a new wave of tears, and Rima stood up so she could come over and hold you close. You cried in the elderly lady's warm arms, as she patted the back of your head. "It's alright, it must be so hard for you. Does she take proper care of your needs?" You shook your head. "For a couple of yea-years now she ref-refuses to cook dinner when she d-doesn't feel like it. For e-example." Rima sighed, and she continued patting your head. After a while, when you started calming down, she said, "How about you meet up with Seijuro before going to bed. You should allow yourself to be loved." Your lips trembled, but you did as she said after thanking her.
And thus you rested your head against Seijuro's shoulder. The two of you were allowed to hang out in his new bedroom, and you were curled up against him, using his bed as an improvised couch as he had been going through a photo album of his mom's childhood whilst you had been talking with his grandmother. You looked at the album, but you didn't really see it. Your mind was in a distant place, the softness of the matrass, silk sheets and Akashi's hand that was rubbing soft, comforting circles on your back was soothing you and you were too emotionally exhausted not to give in and space out. "You know, you should go to sleep and take some care of yourself. I'll be here, in the same house as you for the next couple of days. We'll enjoy ourselves plenty tomorrow, okay?" You looked at him and he kissed your forehead. Smiling lazily, you said, "It really was nice to see you before going to bed." "Perhaps someday we'll be sleeping in the same bed, and you can relax as you listen to me breathe." Akashi teased. "You shouldn't let your grandmother hear that!" You giggled and got off the bed. "Can't wait for that day though, goodnight." "Goodnight my love."

Note
Hi again Anon T, wanted to make another confession but on a different topic. I see many people hype Shiori up as this crazy gal, but I really feel sad when I see it. Sure she herself plays up some of those characteristics, but she really gives a feel good vibe. She's so herself with her tangents and opinions, that it makes me go "goals" in being more open about personal interest despite how I may be perceived. Still we get moments where it's clear she's uncertain or undervalues herself when chat plays up her "unhinged" characteristic and it makes me feel bad. But I think I have a overprotective bias, because on my first time in her stream, I participated in a joke that lead to her being serious and genuine, only to end up making her cry on stream. And while she got lots of love, donations, and support from the community as a result of those events, I feel bad. Because she's not always this uncaring, aloof, unhinged character. She's also a very dorky, caring person. Maybe down the line (hopefully still having all of Advent and Re:Gloss around) we can see their more natural personalities be recognized, as I noticed some similar aspects with newer Talents of these waves. As a newbie to this and someone who is into psychology, it's interesting seeing some of the Social Psychology at play.

so how is his relationship with his two newly found kids?
Sayuri only needs to take one glance at the captain standing awkwardly in the doorway to guess what he’s here for.
“You can come in, Kyouraku-taicho,” she says. “The Academy library is open to everyone. Even captains.”
“I’m not here to visit the library,” he replies.
“No, I suppose you’re not,” she sighs, restacking the last of the books back on the shelves before turning to face him.
“I’m sure your...mother has already let you know of our recent conversation,” he says, stumbling slightly over the words. Sayuri folds her arms across her chest.
“Yes, she did. Which is how I know she told you that neither Sousuke nor I need, nor want, a father,” she says coolly. “There’s no need to feel any obligation towards us, Kyouraku-taicho. Our mother has provided us with more love and care than anyone could ask for, and she is all the family that my twin and I will ever need. And I’m sure your life is complicated enough without adding two unwanted children to the mix.”
“Not unwanted,” he murmurs. “Unknown, yes, I had no idea you two existed or that you were...mine. That doesn’t mean that I don’t-- that I don’t want you.”
Sayuri studies him for a moment.
“The sentiment is appreciated,” she says after a moment, voice giving nothing away. Kyouraku nods, his reiatsu dimming slightly in realization.
“I understand,” he replies quietly, turning to go.
“Kyouraku-taicho,” she calls out after him, after a moment’s pause. “I don’t need another parent and I don’t need a father. However, if you’d like to come over and chat sometime, so we can get to know each other...I’d be alright with that.”
“I’d like that,” he says with a slight smile. “Thank you, Sayuri.” He pauses. “Sayuri, your mother--”
“Is very much single,” she replies, barely refraining from rolling her eyes at the not-so-subtle relief in Kyouraku’s eyes at her answer. It was embarrassing, really, how hopelessly, obviously infatuated he was with her. About as embarrassing as the hopelessly obvious crush he had on Akira.
She thinks it says a lot about her mother that Sayuri isn’t the least bit surprised Shiori’s somehow managed to get the same man to fall for her twice without trying. Three times, if she includes her one night as Sakura.
Sousuke, of course, finds it hilarious.
“Does this mean I have your approval?” Kyouraku asks, looking at her closely.
Sayuri thinks about it for a moment. Honestly, it might take a man hopelessly, obviously in love to get through to someone as stubbornly oblivious as her mother could be.
“Her favorite flowers are gardenias,” she says, which is an answer in itself. Judging by the way Kyouraku’s shoulders relax, he hears her unspoken message.
Treat her well.
~~
Sousuke, meanwhile, is mostly excited about the added challenge having a captain of the Gotei 13 around all the time will bring to their ruse (not to mention all the added attention once the truth of their parentage becomes public). He’s really curious to see if his ‘Superhero’s overenthusiastic, awkward biggest fan’ persona will hold up to Kyouraku’s scrutiny and he’s thrilled to put his acting skills to the test (no one has ever questioned his act, because no one’s ever been given a reason to. He wants to see if Kyouraku will be the first).
He’s willing to grudgingly accept Kyouraku courting his mom because Kyouraku makes her happy (even if she won’t admit it). That doesn’t mean he doesn’t get his revenge by acting like the most embarrassing, useless, weakling son ever, playing up his “I’m a pathetic fanboy” act as much as possible, to Shiori and Sayuri’s exasperation.
Honestly both twins are way less stressed than Shiori is about accidentally being discovered, because their reasoning is if they are discovered, they’ll just leave and be superheros full time, no biggie.

“So... You’re in love, too, then? Aren’t you?” Toga’s invading people’s personal spaces again...
Tumblr media
“H-Huh...? Wh-What do you...?” ...Although maybe no one suspected it’d be Shiori that Toga would target! Not even the little kami herself can process the thought!
Tumblr media
“Heheh~! I just know these things... Girls in love should stick together, y’know~?”
Shiori...actually doesn’t understand at all. But rather than cause further troubles, she nods. Unfortunately, Toga brightens right up and gives the goddess a hug, giggling and rambling about feelings and such... There’s a sort of bad-feeling in the air, but Shiori will do her best to keep this one amused and attempt to hear her out...

Day 2: Liminal
HoloGoretober Day 2, the crossover no-one, literally no-one asked for. Shiori Novella gets caught up in some OC/AU bullshit and just absolutely devastates a man for it. Went a little too light on gore yesterday and may have over-steered a bit. Best avoided if violence, puns, or light cannibalism are disturbing to you. There's a framing device with an OC that ties into the rest of the month's narrative, just in case HoloGoretober was a wide enough venn diagram to still fit someone besides me. Skip to the asterisks if you just want Shiori Novel-ways-to-hurt-someone-a.
Day 2: Liminal
Oriko continued her “livestream” over, around and through her makeshift puppet theater “overlay.” With the first performance of the night finished the Fauna puppet lay temporarily forgotten, leaning haphazardly against the small stage. A bundle of twigs and leaves rested gently in its lap. Oriko’s mouth was still stained crimson from the salary-man puppet’s sudden “transformation” into those twigs and leaves. She hadn’t noticed and the scrolling paper ribbon, covered in her own scribblings, that served as “chat” did not see fit to inform her. But it was surely seen by the other audiences. Both the dozen or so puppets facing the stage, sat in spider silk hammocks, and the surveillance camera which hung above them following Oriko’s every move. It had always been there, at least as long as she’d been there. Her genmates all thought it was creepy, and went to great lengths to avoid it, but she was happy just knowing they weren’t the only ones left. And how bad could they be if they liked watching her streams? A monitor hung below the camera, with a simple blinking cursor. It looked like a simple command line prompt but no keyboard was attached and no message had ever appeared on it. Until that night, when Oriko asked “chat” if they had any questions and for the first time they did.
“What’s your favorite liminal object?” Oriko gasped, the cardboard cutout which was going to serve as the question, slotting into the stage in a facsimile of an asset in broadcasting software, slipped from her hand. Her other three sets of eyes opened wide and fixated on the camera. Six small black orbs opened, joining the bright green of her human eyes. Her head swam at the influx of data. They each saw in spectrums she’d forgotten how to parse.
“Is someone really there? Are you ok? Do you need help?” It ignored this and all of her followup questions, until she asked, “Like…clipping out reality liminal or existing at a border or threshold liminal?”
“The latter.”
She made various “thinking” noises while tilting her head back and forth. Campfire? No. TV? No. Bed? Maybe. She glanced around the room, eyes lingering on a bookcase near her bed. Ah. Her head pained her even more, the puppets across the room seemed to pulse closer and farther.
“Bookmark.”
“ Mine too :)” Oriko was happy her viewer was pleased. It felt like she’d found the right answer.
“Ori…Do you remember any stories about bookmarks?” Oriko nodded, her human eyes were half-lidded but her spider eyes were still sharp and aware, they maintained their inscrutable gaze on the monitor, somehow accusatory.
“Ori…tell me the story.” Oriko places a small toy hospital bed onto the stage, woven from her own silk between four popsicle stick bedposts. She retrieved a doll with black and white hair, amber eyes and a gothic dress. She attaches it to her spinnerets and lets it fall into the bed. Green light follows it down through her silk, lighting up the puppets eyes. Its’ chest begins to rise and fall as if the doll is really slumbering in the bed. Two more puppets, one in a lab coat and one in a suit descend to the stage and stutter to life.
“She’s not sleeping. But they think she is.”
***
Shiori wasn’t sleeping. But they thought she was. Or at least, they thought she was so sedated that two ordinary humans could safely be in her presence. Enough that the bed’s simple manacles could hold her. Two beliefs that were deeply untrue. Not that she intended to interfere. This story needed to continue on its current path. At least a little further. So she kept her eyes gently closed. Her breathing carefully paced. She let them draw her blood, and pour it onto the elaborate magic circle etched beneath her bed. She watched passively, as they read the incantations and drew out her power. Her aura lifted away from her body, the golden light was drawn into a strange alchemical device on the opposite side of the room. After a winding series of heavily runed glass tubes, It dripped a glowing viridian liquid into a small vial. It was no more than a couple ounces, Shiori had been very exact about how much she’d allowed them to take, though it still amounted to several years of archiving work being undone. Narrative Quintessence. It was the source of her ability to twist the plot, both in and out of archives. Plot armor given physical form. Though it was weird to see it green. It had always been amber-colored, like her eyes and aura, when she’d manifested it voluntarily.
She shook in subconscious fury as the doctor stoppered the vial and grasped it in his filthy hands. She told herself this was only a fraction, if a large one, and that before the bookmark she’d had none at all. But when the man in the suit reached across her “unconscious” form to take the vial, she decided to steer into the skid. Still held back by the manacles attached to the bed, she lunged for his arm only barely reaching it. She spent a precious drop of Quintessence to serrate her teeth and tear away a chunk of his arm right through his suit. She swallowed it down, suit and all, and showed him her empty mouth, as he staggered back. She cackled at his horror and sang out “Surprise!” He stumbled to the door, the vial clasped desperately in his hand. Stopping only to give the order, “Kill her, quickly, but painfully.” Neither of them noticed the bookmark that appeared in her hand as soon as the vial crossed the threshold of the door. It became a lock pick rake at her touch and by the time the man in the suit slammed the door behind him, she was free of both shackles, though she had returned her hands to their previous position by the time the doctor turned to face her.
She smiled at him. “Quickly? That's no fun. You should never kill someone unless you’re at least going to savor it.”
He retrieved a knife from somewhere below the bed and grinned “Oh I intend to.” He was so enthused she decided to give him a shot. It had after all been quite some time since she’d been properly stabbed. As soon as he positioned it above her, she knew it was a waste of time. There was no need for plot armor as the knife split her flesh only briefly before impacting on her rib cage. Not only had he missed anything vital but he was so startled by the fact she did, indeed contain a rib cage that he released his grip on the knife. Shiori rolled her eyes and swung her legs across the bed, pulling the knife from her chest.
“You know what? That's honestly on me. I’ve been carved up by some of the great butchers of fiction. I mean, once a Jack the Ripper has replaced one of your kidneys with a bomb, the rest might as well be kids stuff. So what did I really expect from you. You don’t even have a name.”
“ I do. Its-”
“Nope. Five minutes ago you did. But then this showed up.” She held up her bookmark. “Do you know what a bookmark is? What its essence is? It’s a border. Between read and unread. Past and future. And sometimes, between one story and the next.”
“I don’t understand.” He was desperate to placate the ranting, knife-wielding, idol. But entirely unsure what exactly she wanted from him. She could have walked out the door or killed him minutes ago.
“Pre-bookmark? It's the story of “the last gen”. You’re Professor DoctorMan, sciencing the shit out of things. Scrounging up Vtuber parts, building doomed killing machines. Can’t eat his eyes, too important! But once that vial leaves the room?” She started advancing towards him. “Who needs you anymore? The bookmark pops in, and now we’re in “The Disappearance of Shiori Novella: Where the fuck did she go? And in that story. You’re just a doctor. A scientist. A guy in a lab coat. And suddenly it's an all you can eat eye-fet.” In one motion she thrust the knife into his lower eyelid, flexed it up and popped his eye from its socket. Before he’d even started screaming she’d severed it and draped it into her mouth. She slurped up his orbital nerve like so much gruesome spaghetti. His screams shook the room.
“Oh calm down, its just a little light cannibalism. All in good fun.” He screamed.
Something dawned on her and she gave a cat-like grin. “Hey, at least your eyes weren’t bigger than my stomach, ey?”
He continued screaming. She frowned.
“You know what, you’ve been a huge disappointment. I was gonna do a whole thing where I asked you if you knew human knees only bent one way and then I stomped on your knees and then I’d go ‘oops nevermind.’ And it was gonna be a whole metaphor about creativity, and thinking outside the box or something. But frankly we’re out of time and I’m not sure you’ve earned it.”
She pointed the knife at his chest. “One last tip before I go.” She adjusted it so it would slip between his ribs and sever his aorta. “It goes here.” She slammed her fist into the back of the knife and drove it in. His screams became a low croaking sound.
She stood up, dusted herself off, and walked out the door. A guard briefly blocked her way, his veins dyed an inky black. On seeing her, the black tendrils withdrew towards his face and his body collapsed as a small black creature leapt from his mouth onto Shiori's shoulder. "Yorick! Aww, were you worried about me? Some guy was pretty rude to me but I'm fine." They departed the narrative together, vanishing. For a time.

Oriko fell to the ground, like a marionette with its strings cut. The sound of metal grinding on concrete came from another part of the basement, slowly approaching the room. An exceptionally tall woman entered the room, dragging an oversized fire-ax. A pair of wolfish ears, and a pair of black, deer-like antlers peeked out through slots in a dark crimson cloak. Her face was hard and her hands were calloused. Her movement was stilted, as if her sinew wasn’t threaded quite right. She dropped her ax and gently lifted Oriko into her arms. Setting her in the blanket and daki filled corner of the room that served as Oriko’s makeshift bedroom. She tucked her in and placed several puppets and plushies around her like sentinels.
She retrieved her ax and confronted the camera, baring a mouth of sharp canid fangs. Her eyes glowed with faint green light.
“She does not want to remember.”
The monitor responded. “Woodcutter? How are you speaking?”
“She does not want to remember.”
“On some level she does, shes chasing a dream that can’t come true in this world.”
“Let her dream.” The woodcutter growled.
“I wish I could, more than you can know, but shes the only one who can save her senpai. Or the world.”
“They are not our senpai. Only one ever accepted her.”
“The only one that had a chance, and the only one that matters. Oriko is Hololive now. She would want to save them if she remembered.”
“She will never dance in the world you would sacrifice her for.”
The console sat empty for several minutes. “No. But nonetheless, I can’t give up on that dream.”
The woodcutter’s face twisted in rage. “Pray I never find you!” She lifted her ax and swung it relentlessly, until both camera and monitor lay in pieces. One final message displayed as the monitor shattered. “I will.”

Just out of curiosity, how many asks do you have at the moment? Do you guys need any extra help?
Hello Nonnie;
Tumblr media
At the moment we have 50 asks (45 in the inbox, 5 in the drafting stage).
As for help, and the short answer is yes!
We've been using the #Shiori Signal on any of our "find a fic" asks where we were unable to locate a user's specific story. We also always welcome additions to our posted lists since we know we can't find everything and some of the lists are very niche.
As a longer answer, no we are not currently recruiting fic finders. In the last year we've definitely had some growing pains as we went from two mods and a group chat, then three mods in an excel spreadsheet, and now five mods in a server with six channels and 45 active threads. But we think we've got a good system down now that will allow us to be a little more timely and a lot more consistent in our postings.
Thank you so much for your message -- this blog is a labor of love and it always makes our day to have someone reach out!
Sincerely,
Rudd, Pixie, Anisa, Mama, & Lost

FFXIV Write, prompt 3: Temper
The evening had started like any other; a trip to the tavern after their shift, a few cups of sake, and plenty of conversation within the squad. Hinata was missing from the group yet again. Something about tidying the barracks.
They all knew he got into trouble for slacking off during the week.
Stories were shared across the table, bottle after bottle was emptied, and as each member of the merry band of misfits reached their limit, they went off to either retire for the night or try their luck with the local populace.
Eventually, it was just Yazan and Tsuna left; the former deep into a third bottle with only a tinge of red on their cheeks, and the latter still nursing their second cup.
At least drinking was a bonus in their line of work, not a requirement.
“So,” Yazan started, in that tone of voice that always indicated Tsuna would dread what came next. “Shiori?”
The question hung in the air, and Yazan stared at Tsuna with a tipsy grin.
“We’re not discussing this.” Tsuna finally said, taking a sip of sake for good measure.
“Come on, you can’t keep leaving me in the dark!” The Raen whined.
Tsuna maintained his silence, his own lips curling into a smile to challenge his drinking buddy. Their eyes were locked on each other.
“Bastard.” Yazan finally muttered, breaking eye contact and leaning back against the wall. The sake cup was kept close at hand, but remained on the table for now. Not like it made much difference; another cup was not going to be the difference between tipsy and drunk.
With Tsuna sitting in silence and secrecy, Yazan looked elsewhere for entertainment. The neighboring table was clearing out, and one of the patrons had to lean on one of their friends to keep their balance.
No fun there.
A sigh made Yazan’s displeasure known, but instead of turning back to Tsuna, the gap in the door outside caught the Raen’s attention as the patrons left.
One of the men had paused just outside, chatting up a woman. She definitely did not belong to the establishment, but neither did she look like she was there for drinks.
Hold on.
“Ain’t that her?” Yazan pointed to the door that Tsuna had his back to.
“Nice try, dipshit.” The man snorted.
“No, really. Burly guy’s talking to her. Doesn’t look like she’s really in the mood for it.”
Tsuna squinted, but relented and turned around. His reaction confirmed it; less than a second later he was up from his seat and out the door. Yazan watched from their table, in no rush to intrude.
He did not want to discuss it, after all.
The voices that reached far enough for Yazan to hear were not the most joyful; the woman, Shiori, seemed nervous, and was clearly trying to keep both men calm. Tsuna’s attempts at sending the drunken man off were unsuccessful, and the Raen man, towering over Tsuna, was trying to pick a fight.
Ah, yes. A typical fight over a woman’s affections.
Tsuna had left his weapon at the barracks. They were not supposed to use them off duty, anyway; the rule extended to anyone in Kugane, even its peacekeepers.
And so, when the Raen man buried a fist into Tsuna’s stomach, he had little to fight back with. The wind was knocked out of him, and it was all he could do to not fall to his knees.
Shiori gasped audibly, hands on Tsuna’s shoulders in some attempt to support him.
Clearly, she had already picked her side.
Yazan knocked back the rest of the sake in the cup, stood up, and walked straight out the door.
___________________________________________
“Sorry.” Tsuna quietly muttered, back against the bench Yazan had been seated on. Shiori stood in front of them, cotton swab in her hand while she cleaned some of the scratches on Yazan’s cheek.
“He pissed me off, too.” Yazan shrugged, and added a quick “ow” when Shiori applied the cotton straight on one of the open cuts.
“Think Hinata’s going to report it?”
“What do you think?” Yazan glanced at Tsuna without turning.
The little chuckle the question elicited was enough indication that Tsuna understood.
The Raen man might have made his escape, but at least it was Hinata that broke up their fighting. For once, his extra workload to make up for his slacking paid off.
He had probably hoped to grab a drink while he was by the tavern, anyway, but no one had to know that.
“I’ll be more careful in the future.” Shiori spoke in what was barely above a whisper, apologetic smile aimed at them both. “But… thank you.”
“Don’t mention it, sweetheart.” Yazan grinned despite the movement sparking a jolt of dull pain in a bruise.
Tsuna swung an arm out to slap the back of it against Yazan’s thigh.
“It’s what we’re here for.” Tsuna said, with emphasis as if to also remind Yazan about the same fact.
“Like loyal little puppies,” Yazan nodded sagely, finally free to move after Shiori’s work was done. “Don’t worry, he doesn’t bite. Unless you’re into that.” A glance at Tsuna.
Shiori followed the look, blinking at Tsuna, and receiving a blink in return. A shade of red crept onto her cheeks, and Tsuna likewise hid his face in a hand.
“Fuck you.” He shot at Yazan.
Yazan stood up, shit-eating grin present, and turned in the direction of the barracks.
“I think someone else got priority in that area.” The Raen half-jested, quick to make a get-away before Tsuna could follow.
He had more important things to think of, anyway.
