The upcoming live-action spin-off film, Jigen Daisuke 「次元大介」, has a brand-new action-packed trailer!

Narrated by the current Japanese voice actor of the animated Jigen, Akio Ōtsuka, the trailer gives a better look at what we can expect from the film, along with a glimpse at its supporting cast.

Yōko Maki is due to play Jigen's arch-enemy, Adel, an assassin who has lost both a leg and her voice - neither of which stop her from being a formidable foe for our hero.

Kotoka Maki features as Oto, a young girl targeted by the villainous Adel's organization.

Masatoshi Nagase stars as Takeshi Kawashima, an assassin and right-hand man of Adel who possesses impressive mimicry and disguise abilities.

Honami Satō plays Ruri, Kawashima's lover, and Mitsuko Kusabue plays Chiharu Yaguchi, the world's best gunsmith whose run-down watch repair shop serves as a front for her services.

The film is releasing “worldwide” (exact locations to be revealed) on October 13th, 2023, exclusively on Amazon Prime Video. Tetsuji Tamayama, who previously portrayed the character in the 2014 released feature film, will be returning to the role of Jigen. He is the second actor to take the role of Jigen in a live action Lupin III film, with Kunie Tanaka being the first in 1974’s Strange Psychokinetic Strategy.

Yoshimasa Akamatsu (BD ~Akechi Tantei Jimusho, Corpse Party: Book of Shadows) has produced the script for the upcoming film, and Hajime Hashimoto (The Detective Is in the Bar franchise, AIBOU: Tokyo Detective Duo, Shimauma, Signal) is on directing duties.

I just watched the Jigen Movie. Read of my thoughts.

(spoilers under the cut! I had a great time 😊)

MR TETSUJI TAMAYAMA SIR YOUR ACTING IN THIS FILM WAS INCREDIBLE!! Especially in the bits between him and Oto; the hand shake he did when reading Oto's backstory was just AAAAAAAHHH PERFECTION

All the performances in this movie were great honestly! Special mention goes to Kotoka Maki and Mitsuko Kusabue as Oto and Chiharu respectively. Loved them

TOTALLY thought Chiharu was gonna die like three separate times in this movie. Was very pleasantly surprised when she survived. And she even adopted Oto!

Really liked Ruri the prostitute girl too

Felt really bad for Kyoko and Yuya

The whole street thinking Jigen was Chiharu's nephew and Oto was his daughter was hilarious. One of the best scenes in the movie

The stuff about Adele was really interesting

Also the shapeshifting gimmick of Kawashima or whatever his name was I forgot

James's music... *chef's kiss*

I appreciated the Monkey Punch photo and the Fiat at the end (I KNEW there was gonna be a cameo!)

I swear to God I thought Shun Oguri was about to come out of that car for a second

I really liked the look of the city in this movie. While there were parts where I couldn't really tell what was going on, on the whole I think it was really well lit.

I thought Akio Otsuka was supposed to narrate this but I didn't hear him anywhere! Maybe I missed it, maybe it was in the credits and I didn't see it cause I skipped them, idk.

Also thought they were gonna make at least some mention of Kobayashi but didn't see any

This one was a LOT of fun. Took a little bit to really hook me but when it did I had a BLAST. And now to wait and see what the hell they're gonna do next!

Ken: 6/10. I like the look, but feel that more could be done with it

Daigo: 5/10. Looks pretty good. My only complaint is that the purple and red are too dull to work with all the black. Either have less black, or make the purple brighter to contrast more

Katsu: A shikigami – a partner born from her soul in order to assist her in defeating Hollows and sending wandering spirits to the afterlife. Fussy, temperamental, and stubborn. He can take the form of any animal, regardless of its size. This ability is limited in that he cannot change into extinct creatures or monsters. He usually takes the form of small rodents or birds for ease. All his forms possess a white body and blue eyes.

He possesses the ability to change into a dragon, at great cost to his and Chiharu's spiritual power.

Seals: Paper talismans decorated with sutras and prayers that have the ability to pin down and damage hollows. Large hollows require multiple seals to immobilize. A line of seals can be use to create a barrier and to lock a hollow down in a certain location.

Shakujo: A six-ringed staff, able to cut through and purify the bodies of hollows.

Appearance: Small, straight frame. Measures in at an impressive 152 cms (5'). Eggplant colored hair styled into a hime cut and worn in two low pigtails. Has a round face and bright large eyes. Over all, very feminine and soft.

Personality: Reliable and mature, Chiharu dedicates herself to whatever she sets her mind to. She earnestly protects Karakura Town and her school from hollows, following the path the women of her family have taken for centuries. Responsible and outgoing, she makes friends with classmates very easily. Because the phenomena of people awakening spiritual abilities is relatively recent, Chiharu felt very alone in her responsibilities. She dislikes letting other people lead. When it comes to Hollow, because of her ability to purify them she very rarely likes letting other people fight. She feels a great deal of sympathy for Hollow, knowing completely that they used to be normal people before they were overtaken by pain. Pushy. Charismatic. History: The fourth child of Koizumi Haruo (age 48) and Fuyuko (age 45). Fuyuko is descended from a long line of Priestesses dating back to the 14th century (Muromachi period). The powers of their family could only be passed down to female members of the line, and from a young age Fuyuko was determined to find a perfect man in order to pass down her abilities to the next generation. She met Haruo while she was in college, an aspiring writer with abilities himself. Able to see spirits and hollows, he used his own experiences and Fuyuko's stories to write a best selling series of novels. He and Fuyuko ended up marrying and quickly started a family.

Fuyuko had three sons prior to Chiharu: Mamoru (age 24), Akio (age 21), and Seiji (age 19). Akio attends college locally and lives at home, Seiji works as a delivery man for a local grocery store and still lives at home, and Mamoru has a full-time salary job and had previously moved out to be closer to his job. Mamoru is also engaged. The brothers are very protective of their little sister, and all possess the ability to see ghosts.

Fuyuko also possess a shikigami named Mana, who speaks in a calm voice. Mana is much more emotionally muted than Katsu and Fuyuko. Mana usually appears as a white sparrow. Fuyuko possess all of the same abilities as Chiharu, only due to her age and having children her abilities are considerably weaker.

Chiharu was previously the Vice-President of the Student council, being voted in as Student Council President in her third year.

The graves are now moving, the fog is going thicker and wider as it continues to spread. When the sun sets as the full moon rises, they appear on the run in these strange dimensions, enter their land as a group or alone, and then never return alive or return dead...
