Choosing to be a mom. Or choosing not to be a mom. Or becoming a mom against your choice. It's all brave. It's all brave because it's this journey.

That stress that we put on ourselves when it comes to childbearing...Because I worried about whether or not I would be able to carry children at ages that were unacceptable. Like, in Grade 8. Why am I thinking about that? I would literally worry about it. I would stress myself out about it, to the point that I convinced myself that I didn't want children, because I thought that I couldn't carry children.

And I wouldn't even be surprised at the number of young girls to that have this stress or worry. We're so hard on ourselves when it comes to motherhood and pregnancy. We judge ourselves so intensely. It's such a huge, huge journey that I don't care about being a good mom. I'd rather be the mom that my son needs today. That's enough for me.

I'm saying these words, but sometimes I fall back into feeling that I need to be a perfect mom. The stress and the anxiety surrounding around this whole bubble of pregnancy and birth is, in my opinion, the downfall in the connections for a lot of women's connections to their wombs. We lose confidence and trust in the ability of our womb to do exactly what is intended of it for this lifetime.

Motherhood is not a must. Motherhood is not for everybody, and childbearing is a women’s task and burden.
