now to my fave minecraft worldbuilding topic
what can you cook? what's edible? what's possible with enough imagination?
I'd like to start with things that are present in-game (vanilla), first, the foods and drinks (ingredients too), having a loaf of bread with a nice mushroom stew seasoned with dandelions for breakfast is an option taken straight from the game
now let's say that I take the apples, wheat, milk, sugar and eggs to make an apple pie, that isn't in the game, but it's something possible to craft
Tumblr media Tumblr media
in an extend things like salt can exist because the presence of sea water, same as things like bacon (pigs), cheese (milk) and so on
what if I throw the existing leaves in hot water to make tea?
Tumblr media
or since all the dyes have an organic source can I make a rainbow cake?
Tumblr media Tumblr media
how you cook things must be important too I imagine, maybe steak cooked in the smoker tastes way better than cooked with a fire aspect sword

Note
if given the chance would you live like an artist of the middle ages mostly working on your crafts and being financially supported by rich aristocrats who admire your work?
I would be so productive if someone would pay for my kid's braces and send me prompts for literally whatever they wanted to read. So. Productive.

Gott's Roadside, St. Helena
Gott's Roadside is a Northern California restaurant group with seven locations in the San Francisco Bay Area. It is a family-owned diner concept restaurant with influence from California cuisine.
The family-owned company's niche is fast food made with ingredients from local purveyors cooked to-order, including hamburgers and Ahi burgers, salads, French fries, and milkshakes, plus seasonal specials like the “Seoul” pork burger with kimchi and the B.L.T. with heirloom tomatoes. On July 25, 2017, Gott's started serving the vegan Impossible burger. Food & Wine magazine has labeled it as an “idealized version of the American roadside stand”.
When the owners of a burger shack in St. Helena—Taylor's Refresher—decided to lease out their 50-year-old property, brothers Joel and Duncan Gott capitalized the opportunity to run their own restaurant. The restaurant became Taylor's Automatic Refresher when the first location re-opened in St. Helena in 1999, and (in the aftermath of a trademark dispute, and over the protests of the Taylor family) was renamed in 2010 as Gott's Roadside.
The restaurants embrace a California-casual cooking style, featuring microbrewed beer and wines alongside chili cheese dogs and mini corn dogs. In 2004, a second Gott's opened in the Ferry Building Marketplace in San Francisco, and in 2007, a third opened in the Oxbow Public Market of Napa. The St. Helena spot is a drive-in, with seating at red picnic tables on the lawn, while the other two locations are built in an urban, retro diner-style. In 2013, a fourth location opened in Palo Alto. The newest Gott's Roadside location is now open in Greenbrae in Marin County. The company remains privately owned.

Also not listed on most of those graphics I’ve seen but on the bds global campaign list is sabra hummus (which upon trying homemade or even just generic store brands… sabra kinda sucks anyway) and Israeli fruit, vegetables and wine. The USDA requires country of origin labeling for produce and as someone who works in a produce section it’s really something most of us know or can figure out if you are not sure where something comes from… most produce I’ve noticed that may come from Israel is stuff like pomegranates, dragonfruit, and some cut flowers like peonies (though they’re not coming in from Israel this year at the store I work at)

Last night I was drinking wine and my dog kept trying to get into the glass. I left the empty glass in the cup holder and he went for it when I was out of the room. Busted! But a dog who likes wine? Chile is a Chilean at heart confirmed!
(Because I am sure I need to spell this out: I did not give the dog any wine. He didn't have a drop.)

2012 Seña
So this is very nice Bordeaux blend from a Chilean winery founded by Robert Mondavi and Eduardo Chadwick. Loads of Bordeaux notes - cassis, plums, fresh leather, cherries, and a hint of nutmeg on the nose. Cassis, dark cherries, and plums on the palate with lovely sweet spices to round it out.
4/5 bones
$$$$$
52% Cabernet Sauvignon, 23% Carmenere, 12% Merlot, 7% Malbec, 6% Petit Verdot
14% abv
