i'm so morbidly curious about your thoughts on zoey 102 now i know you actually watched it..

okay, so right off the bat, i stand by my statement that it made sense for the characters that weren't present to be absent but the way they went OUT OF THEIR WAY to pointedly exclude nicole bristow/alexa nikolas' character was fucking petty omg.

also i think that stacy/mark just took the cake as the absolutely worst nickeloden ship to ever exist. i was fully expecting them to straight up break up in the final act lmfao.

quinn and logan were perfect, i don't think i have a single complaint there at all. i think they way they shaped their relationship on screen made so much sense for the characters, i love the deeper dive into quinn and her life. i was little confused because i don't remember logan ever having a sister but yknow. that's fine lol. their wedding was perfect, even if it didn't really make sense that they just left the beach-side school empty for fifteen plus years.

there were so many better ways that chase and zoey could have been endgame/had a re-finding your first love plot than her just... pining over him for almost twenty years while he never spoke to her that entire time. it wasn't really in character for either of them? definitely not for zoey.

i'm really disappointed that michael was so under utilized. he quite literally barely even got to speak, and he was a much more important and relevant character in the show than stacey or mark ever were. he should have had a bigger role, that was just. does not sit right with me.

why was there a murderer subplot.......... hello.

Zoey 102 feels like a missed oppertunity for a more traditional second chance romance for Zoey and Chase.

By Senor year they were dating. Over the next 15 years they break up at some point.

Then at Logan and Quinn's destination wedding Zoey and Chase or the only 2 left single in their friend group.

At first, lying to avoid embarrassing themselves in front of their successful friends seems like the easiest scheme they've ever come up with. They have dated before, so it's easy picking up where they left off. Being such good friends makes it seem organic. But Zoey starts falling for Chase all over again. This ends up distracting them from helping with the wedding. And then they have to clean up the mess they've made.

what are your thoughts regarding the zoey 102 reboot movie? as an avid d*n schnider hater

well first of all, i think at this point we should all be dan schneider haters. i also feel like zoey 101- compared to icarly and if they rebooted victorious- have a lot of elements of being problematic for viewership than just being an original dan schneider production.

but i have lots of miscellaneous thoughts regardless. right off the bat, the trailer is cut together so awkwardly why is zoey in the background when logan is proposing but the whole first half of the trailer is framing her finding out over the phone and being shocked lol

i’m not in love with the plot in general, but i can see where the image came from and what they wanted to do with it. i just think the characters are a little old to be behaving like that? if the story was like five years after the original with the characters in their early twenties, sure, but these are 30 year olds. it’s just odd. also. if i was quinn, i would have been way more pissed that my boyfriend who’s literally rich as hell didn’t propose for like. 12 years or whatever the timeline is here.

i think that in terms of “missing cast”, the only one that actually could serve as notably missing is victoria justice’s lola. as much as this is obviously going to be a story about chase and zoey, it’s quogan’s wedding. the cast missing is much more tea for us as viewers than it is for any of the actual characters.

dana was never friends with quinn or logan, quinn’s character became much larger after dana had already left. at that point, she was literally only friendly with zoey. she wasn’t much friends with nicole either- arguably logan was much closer to nicole than she was, and not nearly close enough to be in the wedding when they hadn’t had contact since like tenth grade. dustin was clearly friendly with them both but because he was zoeys brother- he would have make sense as cameo at best. lola is the only one who would have had enough a relationship to warrant even an invitation tbh.

stacey has a lot of balls to be talking shit about zoey for not being “over her high school boyfriend” when she married hers, and is literally part of a wedding party for her husband’s ex girlfriend of like three entire years of high school who is also marrying a high school boyfriend. lowkey weird she and mark are even in the wedding at all- invited sure, but IN IT?

As for their honeymoon, I initially wanted them to have a mini world tour but someone on discord mentioned the idea of them going to Hawaii and I loved it hahaha, the petty part of myself wanted it just to spite on Zoey XD

Imagine all funny scenarios this could bring:

Zoey and Chase go to Hawaii to make up to what they lost, without knowing that's Logan and Quinn's honeymoon destination. Not wanting to interrupt their friends' peace (bc they know they won't be having much time for that on the next two years), they spend the majority of their stay hiding and getting their moments ruined by Quogan lol

Like let's pretend they can afford a room next to theirs, and the banging on the wall plus their friends not even bothering to stay quiet (as they should, it's their honeymoon and they need to enjoy all the time they can before Quinn is busy with work again for the next two years) would not let them get in the mood or even sleep well XD

Having rooms close also meant having to be careful and having to sneak out, and Chase being clumsy af would probably knock so many things on the way out of nervousness when they hear a sound.

Choey a trying to enjoy a romantic dinner but Logan and Quinn enter the restaurant, leading to a frantic game of hide-and-seek around the place, dodging waitstaff and trying not to ruin their special night. Kinda like Dinner for Two Many, but this time it's Logan and Quinn who interrupt the date. And Quogan is unaware the whole time and do actually enjoy their time.

They keep accidently getting on the same activities as Logan and Quinn and having to find a way to blend with the people or sneak out.

At the end of the vacation and honeymoon, Logan and Quinn do discover them, maybe on the way to the airport, but they're not mad or anything, they're like "oh hey, we didn't know you were here. We could have had a went out for a double date or something :)" they're probably just being nice, Logan is definitely glad they didn't come across them and he got to enjoy Quinn all to himself

Quogan had the time of their lives, so many romantic moments and a hella lot of sex, they were dedicated to each other and were on their little happy bubble.

Choey not so much lmao.

Why didn't they just let them know they were there and simply stay away? Idk, they're dumb like that.

Wherever Choey stayed together or the stress/miserable time made them break up is up to you, I personally hope they realize they really don't work or it was a sign for them to not be together idk, I don't vibe with them as a couple
