Genevieve should force Tobias to collaborate with another choreographer just so we can see him be artistically tortured in a different way. We’ve seen him struggle to just get dancers to do what he wants ,but what about when there’s another renowned choreographer who doesn’t have the same vision as him?
Bonus points if that choreographer is Christopher Wheeldon. I think his Étoile self should have a slow descent into madness that comes from working with the most neurotic characters, purely for the comedy. He barely handled Cheyenne, how will he handle another choreographer with basically the same approach to the work?

Callum Linnane as Oscar Wilde.
The Australian Ballet's 'Oscar' is choreographed by Christopher Wheeldon for the AB's 2024 Season.
Music score by Joby Talbot.
In two acts, this new ballet explores Wilde's rise to fame interposed with Wilde's story, 'The Nightingale and the Rose'; and then Wilde's fall and torment interposed with 'The Picture of Dorian Gray'.
The experience for this blogger was exhilarating - despite knowing the details of Wilde's story!
Melbourne Season: 13-24 September 2024 Sydney Season: 8-23 November 2024

I went to see the Royal Ballet’s revival of Christopher Wheeldon’s Alice’s Adventures in Wonderland and all I got was a life enhancing artistic experience and a LOT of 10 second sketches from memory frantically scribbled before the lobby closed.

Mariinsky Playbill — Concert Dances / Scenes de Ballet
Wow! Quite a few surprises on the Mariinsky playbill. First, Alexandra Khiteeva is cast in the premiere performance of Alexander Sergeev's new Concert Dances aka "Scenes de Ballet," to music by Stravinsky. I haven't seen much choreography by Sergeev, so not sure what to expect. I did see snippets of Twelve and was a bit baffled to be honest. But keeping an open mind.
I'm still digging into the history of Stravinsky's score and found that other big name choreographers have tackled this music. Frederick Ashton's Scenes de Ballet with Sarah Lamb:

Christopher Wheeldon's Scenes de Ballet:

Given the creative partnership between Balanchine and Stravinsky, I wondered if he created a ballet to this — or used it elsewhere. I'm not sure, but still reading...

Nach all dem dummen Zeug endlich mal wieder etwas Hochkultur, passend zur Jahreszeit, auch wenn es gar nicht so wirkt, The Winter's Tale. Nach Shakespeare! Getanzt! Liebe, Eifersucht, Tod, Verdammnis, Verzeihung, Auferstehung, alles geboten. Es ist ganz außerordentlich wunderbar. Zenaida Yanowsky stielt wieder allen die Show.
Tumblr media
Habe dann auch nachgeschaut, was dieser Joby Talbot sonst noch so komponiert hat. Das letzte war der Score zu Wonka. Soviel zur Hochkultur.

Is there a slime tutorial list for ballets? I am dying to see Christopher Wheeldon's Alice's adventures in wonderland ballet but I can't afford the cheapest seats at $325 per ticket. I tried, but it's not possible to justify that. I would love to see it though.

This is my favorite ballet of all time!!!!!
Choreographed by Christopher Wheeldon, score by Joby Talbot. Both of whom understood the assignment.
The Australian Ballet is doing Alice in Wonderland again and on one hand I’ve seen it before, and on the other, their Queen of Hearts has my favourite costume in anything every
