The park in “Seesaw”: Orleigh Park

I’d initially overlooked this episode, but I rewatched it and we’re in another distinct park!

In this one Dad gets the kids all working together to defeat him/lift him on the seesaw (so little Pompom saves the day.)

Note we’re on the waterfront with what look like a mix of midrise multifamily buildings on the other side of the river.

There’s a good collection of different equipment in this park. There are some buildings in the park (likely washrooms), some shade protectors, log barriers, benches and tables…

There’s also a very distinctive frog-themed slide integrated into a concrete structure. That frog slide structure is the key to locating this park. You can see it by the tree in this shot.

Here’s a pic of the real frog slide, the book-themed murals/art on the structure, and a seesaw. This is Orleigh Park.

The real Orleigh Park is in the West End part of Brisbane, and is accessible by transit, so theoretically Bluey’s family (and Pompom’s Mum) could have travelled here with the children using transit. The CityCat river ferry also serves this park.

🎫 Azurian

They are the mysterious janitor who somehow knows everything that's going on but doesn't know how to convey it like a normal person. They can only talk in riddles and that is an issue because no one knows what they mean half of the time. Otherwise, they are very friendly, probably the hardest worker on the ship (cleaning and maintenance personnel has my respect) and they try to be helpful in their own way.

No one understands them save for Beastie, the stray mechanical beast stowaway that has entered the ship sometime before they landed on Earth. It has the ability to read minds/processors and knows exactly what they are thinking. There is a sort of mutual understanding tying them together with no words needed.

Azurian is the horse girl in their own horse movie and the horse in question is just a creechur. Beastie is also responsible for the scars on their helm and face, but the damage is not as bad as it looks - it will mend soon.

They are one of two characters for which I can't settle on an alt mode and it changes every month or so, but today I decided to make them a road sweeper. You know, one of those small trucks that clean the streets - they're very adorable. On Earth, Azurian scans a CityCat model type.

Creative Concept - Remote Control River

For Challenge No.2- Maritime Green

Ground is pre-settlement North shore, with beachside with eucalyptus and black bean trees, with Aboriginal peoples fishing and doing other activities as well.

Off there is the Brisbane river, which flows up both the left and right walls

Through a mobile application, players choose a avatar (a type of vessel) which appears on the ground floor area.

With their phone they then sail it around, and are able to travel up the river along the walls as well.

On the left represents the Northshore during its time as an exporting hub, as well as colonial era buildings.

On the right represents modern Northshore, with locations such as the maritime green and Eat Street visible.

Sailing the boat to specific locations along the river, text popups would provide additional information to those present about their vessel of choice, or the location of interest.

This would be further enhanced by the hangars already-present soundscape of the Brisbane river, the wind and breeze, as well as smell of the river.

Indigenous artist would supply the art assets, such as for backgrounds, vessels, and depictions of Aboriginal people.

A Cultural advisor would be consulted for the purposes of accurate and respectful depictions of local history and Indigenous culture.

The available list of vessels would be relevant to Northshore and its history, such as:

Citycats, sailboats, canoes

Whaleboats, regatta ships

Aboriginal made 'tied bark' canoe, small log rafts.

Could also include empty black bean pods, which were used as children's toy canoes

Northshore was a place for Aboriginal people hunting and fishing, as well as places of celebration.

Historically was a port, used during wartime.

Home to women's colonial prison.

From here Queensland exported to the world

Goods such as pineapples, bananas, sugarcane.

Eat street open fridays and weekends, can receive 2000 people in attendance.

Travel by citycat, very relaxing.

By car, can make North shore area feel quite isolated, compared to the surrounding construction.

New Farm Park in “Spy Game” (1/3)

New Farm is an inner-city suburban neighbourhood approximately two kilometres east of the downtown. It was originally a farm established in the early days of Brisbane, in 1827.

New Farm Park is a large riverside park in this community, located beside the Brisbane Powerhouse building.

The action in “Spy Game” mostly takes place at a picnic being held at one of the public barbecue grilles in the park.

Like Orleigh Park, this park is served by the CityCat ferry.

There is a big gazebo/shelter in the park.

The downtown skyline can be seen from the park. Story Bridge can be seen in this shot.
