x-files/nbc hannibal crossover (set in season 1 of hannibal) where scully and mulder get assigned to help investigate the killer of the week and end up getting somewhat drawn into the chesapeake ripper investigations
including scenes where:
-mulder says "it's the creatures" followed by will and scully both saying "it's not the creatures"
-mulder learns about will's hallucinations/nightmares and is like "holy shit it's the creatures" and scully's like "it's not the creatures!" and will is like "idk honestly it might be the creatures i mean it'd be better than finding out i'm actually insane right"
-during a bit of downtime scully takes a bit to visit her cousin bedelia. this leads to scully getting a hunch about possible connections between a certain case and a certain psychiatrist
-meanwhile mulder is vibing with will. shenanigans ensue.
-obligatory "tell me will" sequence.
-hannibal probably has them over for dinner.
-at the end they catch the bad guy, it's not the creatures this time :(, scully and mulder leave before hannibal can eat them. this has an unbelievable impact on the rest of the show and manages to be blended in to the preexisting everything amazingly.

I've become such a brainrot to the idea of bedelia x clarice— the rats inside my head are crawling at the seams despite editing them 5000x times and having written a fic over 1.5k words already.... ITS STILL NOT ENOUGH.

Hannibal: Most psychology departments are filled with personality deficients. Dr. Bloom would be the exception.
Jack: Yes, she would. Yes, she would. Well, she told me that you mentored her during her residency at Johns Hopkins.
Hannibal: I learned as much from her as she did from me.
(This draws from the show, the books, and the movies!)
Maybe Alana was a project to him once upon a time, but I don't think she has been for a very long time. Alana isn't someone that he serves at the table, she's someone in the kitchen with him. She challenges his tastes and his pretentions; and she has a brilliant mind of her own, which can conceive of ideas that surprise and fascinate him.
In some ways, I don't think Hannibal wants her to see beyond the human mask. She's not his therapist or his patient-- and while she was his student, it was a long time before, and their relationship has evolved since then.
With Alana, like with Clarice, he could make a worthy space for Mischa in her place... And that makes her fundamentally different from Will or Bedelia.
Alana is the woman he wished had found him when he stumbled out of the woods in Lithuania, half starved with a broken arm, and shoved into a Soviet orphanage. And even as an adult, he feels more human around her, like he can warm his soul by her.
There's some stuff near the end of the novel Hannibal with Clarice that could easily be replaced with Alana, and which raises interesting questions:
“Hannibal Lecter, did your mother feed you at her breast?”
“Yes.”
“Did you ever feel that you had to relinquish the breast to Mischa? Did you ever feel you were required to give it up for her?”
A beat. “I don’t recall that, Clarice. If I gave it up, I did it gladly.”
Clarice Starling reached her cupped hand into the deep neckline of her gown and freed her breast, quickly peaky in the open air. “You don’t have to give up this one,” she said. Looking always into his eyes, with her trigger finger she took warm Chateau d’Yquem from her mouth and a thick sweet drop suspended from her nipple like a golden cabochan and trembled with her breathing.
He came swiftly from his chair to her, went on a knee before her chair, and bent to her coral and cream in the firelight his dark sleek head.
This isn't to say that loved cures cannibalism and serial murder, oh no no no!
But Alana wasn't supposed to survive her defenestration. She wasn't supposed to be a loose end, or to seek revenge for what he'd done. Hannibal is a narcissist, and suddenly there was a piece on the board that wasn't doing what she was supposed to.
Hannibal is bored, and has a weakness for things that amuse him... And Alana Bloom looking for revenge is deeply amusing. He has no idea how this is going to play out, and that makes it even more interesting.
Alana: I was so blind.
Hannibal: In your defense, I worked very hard to blind you. You can stay blind. You can hide from this. Walk away. I'll make no plans to call on you. But if you stay, I will kill you.
Be blind, Alana. Don't be brave.
The audience knows that Hannibal is a nasty piece of work, but Alana? She doesn't. She sees Will, who is already unhinged, behaving dangerously and erratically. She has no reason not to trust Hannibal, who she's known for years, and who is actively manipulating her perception of events.
She isn't someone missing the obvious, she's someone being told the truth is not the truth. With evidence. And of course she doesn't want to believe Will is right-- nobody would! The idea that your friend is secretly a cannibalistic serial killer? Unthinkable!
But she eventually learns the truth, and Hannibal knows she isn't going to fall for that trick again.
One day I'm dying to write a plot where Hannibal, while in the Baltimore State Hospital For The Criminally Insane, finds out that the Verger baby isn't Mason's. I can think of a few different ways this could go, and it's so delightfully messy and complicated.
( His name is Simon, and his half-finished bio is here, if anyone wants to take a peek! )
So yes! My ship for Alana is Hannibal... Or Hannibal and Will, because who doesn't like a nice, happy, murderous throuple?

Summary:
A different kind of post-S3 story, wherein Hannibal and Will are thrown back into their respective pre-fall nightmares through chance and circumstance. A little bit Inception meets Angel Heart.
Severely injured and once again a resident of the BSHCI, Hannibal believes his worst fear has come true. Will, back home with Molly and Walt, finds himself torn in more directions than his loosening grip on reality can accommodate.
As their lives begin to unravel and the lines between memory, dream, and reality start to blur, both men must face the inevitable pull of their connection. Will they survive separation in this world—in any world? Or are they destined to be forever conjoined?
Do you have any personal opinions/takes on how Hannibal NBC treats its female characters?
Personally I've not seen much past season one and a little bit of season two — I found the show a bit too grotesque for my liking.
Definitely wish we got more screentime with some of the Hannibal women and I'm not a big fan of how they killed Beverly Katz— she was a nice character who's death felt unnecessary tbh.
Wish we got that Bedelia x Clarice content that was speculated for season 4 I'd love to see how they would interact about their shared trauma in relation to Hannibal Lecter/past since. I feel like the only time Bedelia truly got depth was in relation to Hannibal and I wish we got more of her independently.
Though at the same time I'm glad they didn't make a s4 with Clarice since I do not think the show would have done her justice unless Jodie Foster or Ted Tally helped in production since in my opinion her vision of Clarice was the best.
