Did farm clexa ever carve a pumpkin and put Madi inside when she was a baby?
That is actually the plot for what was going to be the continuation of Pumpkin Spice Craving! Here's a little snippet from it :)
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
"Ma!" Madi sounds out again planted on the floor, surrounded by an entire council of plushie critters. She’s still scared of the cows and horses, real or stuffed, but seems to have taken an affinity for the soft versions of the critters that tend to make their small farm a home.
"Yes, ducky?” Lexa asks, absent midedly, eyes still trying to grasp the last paragraph of the book page, taking any chance she can to get her daily reading in.
“Uh!” The baby exclaims, pointing at the window, “Ma!”
Staring out the window, Lexa’s eyes fall on Clarke walking through the backyard, a massive faded orange pumpkin in her arms, mud boots sinking down in the wet ground as she walks with the added weight, a grin morphin from ear to ear when she sees Madi excitedly bouncing on her chubby legs, perched on the small table by the window.
“What does mama have there, baby? Is it a pumpkin?” Lexa coos at her daughter as she lifts her from the ground, watching Clarke drop the off shape pumpkin on their picnic table by the kitchen door with clear pride, shaking any dirt it might have gotten on her flannel and overalls off. She quickly turns back to them, urging them to come outside with her hand.
In her arms Madi wiggles with excitement at her mama’s present, babbling away as she points to it, “Ma! Uh!”
“You wanna go see the pumpkin ducky?”
Madi lets out an excited shriek at the proposal, wiggling more violently, never the type to stay still for long and Lexa chuckles at her, kissing a rosy cheek before making her way outside, although not before fighting to get her jiggling baby inside a warm coat.
“Ma! Ma!” Madi exclaims the moment Lexa opens the back door, extending her little arms in Clarke’s direction, who comes running to take her daughter into her arms.
“Do you like the pumpkin mama got for you, baby? It’s so big isn’t it, Madi?” Voice full of excitement and pride, Clarke delivers a few wet kisses to her daughter cheeks, purposefully ignoring her wife’s questioning eyes. She knows fully well she was very explicitly asked to bring a small pumpkin for Madi to decorate, not a squash so big it had taken all of Clarke’s muscle mass and will power not to drop on the floor along with all the pretty pennies it cost.
To her question, Madi drums on the pumpkin with both hands, giggling at the sound it makes.
“What’s your game plan here, my love?” Lexa questions into the nape of her neck, arms wrapped around Clarke’s mid section, “‘Cause I’m almost certain this was not what I asked you to get. Do you plan on having her decorate this for the next five years?” There is humor in her voice, and Clarke sighs, realizing she is not in that much trouble for going rogue on her pumpkin purchase.
“Well,” Clarke starts, focused on helping Madi stand by the squash without falling, “My plan was for the three of us to decorate it together. I’ll gut it, you can carve it since you insist I don’t do it right -”
“- You don’t.”
“- and then we can let her go ham on the painting!” Clarke finishes her case, purposefully ignoring Lexa’s comment, “Also, it was so much cheaper than buying three pumpkins, Monty must be insane, seven bucks a pumpkin? Is the moonshine not selling well this year?”
Lexa chuckles and bites her lip as she stares at Madi and the her-sized pumpkin, the little girl happily slaps while babbling away. She’d envision Madi’s first halloween in detail since the past fall, when cravings and back pain kept her awake at night, including the adorable crochet duck costume Lexa started working on a couple weeks ago. She guesses the tiny, perfectly round pumpkin in her vision can easily be swapped by the wonky shaped one that seems to have marveled her daughter so much.
“I think I have a big enough candle to light it properly.” She finally speaks up, turning her head to plant a kiss in Clarke’s neck before she leaves her wife side to go and take Madi away from the pumpkin she is trying to get on top of with shaky legs.
The baby whines and kicks as she is taken away from her new toy, a pout settling on her lips that a kiss from her mother quickly wipes away.
Clarke smiles brightly at her, “Of course you do.”
With the baby propped on her hip, Lexa turns back to her wife, a smile pulling at the corner of her lips “Why are you looking at me like that?”
It’s not the first time, and certainly not the last, she finds Clarke staring at her like this - lopsided smile with shinning eyes, like Lexa puts the stars in the sky in the darkest of nights. A rare sight Lexa used to catch in the corner of her eye as her and Clarke grew up side by side, now a constant in their shared life that always seems to catch Lexa off guard in the most delightful of ways.
“Hm?” Clarke hums, clearly too busy staring to register the question.
Lexa shakes her head, stepping towards her, “Nevermind,” she chuckles, adjusting Madi better on her hip before leaning in to kiss Clarke, humming into it.
Wrapping a hand around her waist, Clarke kisses back, settling into it easily. Clarke still tastes like the coffee she had in the morning right before she left for the market, the one with added vanilla and cinnamon they spend the past five years making together after buying the farm and that Lexa has yet to enjoy now for the second fall in a row as she tries to avoid caffeine while she feeds their already hyper baby.
They settle there for a bit, enjoying the crips air as they share a warm kiss, only for a slap to be delivered right to their faces, effectively separating them.
“Ma!” The culprit exclaims with a frown.
Madi is stingy with her mothers’ attention and doesn’t seem to enjoy when their focus is on each other when she is right there, a trait very present from the moment she was born. Clarke giggles at her daughter’s antics, taking her from Lexa’s arms and elevating her above her head, causing the baby to explode in high pitched giggles, kicking tiny legs in the air.
“Oh, do you want kisses too ducky?” Clarke asks, bringing the baby down to pepper kisses on her nose before lifting her again, “More?” She asks again, eyes wide as she brings the baby down again.
And Lexa gets why Clarke stares. She does it too. How could she not.

After 8 years, Lexa saw Clarke again.
She saw Clarke in short blonde hair with red streaks. Reminded her of Clarke's long, red Wanheda locks.
She saw Clarke stronger and fiercer, her unwavering strength for her loved ones.
She saw Clarke's mannerisms and phrases, bravery and kindness in the little Heda, her daughter.
She saw the maternal side of Clarke, willing to do anything and everything and go far and beyond for her child, like she did for her people.
After 8 years, Lexa saw Clarke's smile again. She saw a Clarke healed by love.

Tuesday: Arranged or Accidental Marriage
The Night Of by AphroditesLaw (@aprodites-law) - There’s a reason I love this one-shot and it’s probably because A Cinderella Story was a hallmark of my childhood. Read at your own fluff risk
the earth, that is sufficient by morningsound15 - the final chapter has that sweet sweet accidental marriage you’re looking for. It’s a canon clexa written for a previous week in chronological order, canon compliant until the obvious and then it diverges. Completed.
Candlelight by RaspberryTree - I love the world building in this one. I wish the writer would expand past a one-shot but it makes sense to keep it narratively where it is. A medieval au where Clarke is a spitfire and Lexa is not quite the monster she appears.
The Journey to Us by Girl_with_a_Quill (@girl-with-a-quill )- World building goals. Clarke, faced with an impossible decision, makes an even more impossible decision. If the only way to save her people is to marry Lexa then shoot, guess Clarke will take one for the team gosh dang it. Uncompleted.
I swear I know your face (but I don't know who you are) by ManuKaikan - I actually read this a long time ago and barely remember it but it’s got a long title with half of it in parenthesis so you know that means it’s Top Notch. Lexa is very into Clarke, Clarke wants to punch Lexa’s face in. And to quote our lord and savior, “But there’s a reason!” Completed.
The Marrying Type by artsypolarbear (@artsy-polarbear) - If I didn’t post this I would be remiss, not only is this writer Iconic, so is this piece and it’s almost sacrilege to not mention it. Clarke gets a call that her wife is in the hospital, only problem? (besides the fact that her wife is in the hospital) Clarke doesn’t have a wife. In fact - clarke isn’t really one for the whole institution of marriage. In fact, love was probably invented by hallmark to sell more greetcards. So. You know. They’re both emotionally constipated. Completed.

Clexa Pride Week 2019 - Day 7 - Free Day
my heart with you
The blindfold comes off and the first thing she sees is a face. Soft lips, tall cheekbones, the greenest eye she’s ever seen — the other one is covered by an eyepatch. All the makings of a pirate.
Therefore, Clarke does what is best in this sort of situation.
She spits on the woman’s face.
Or
Lexa is a space pirate. With an eyepatch.

Clexa Pride Week Tuesday: Arranged or Accidental Marriage
Clarke Griffin and Lexa Woods dated briefly at the beginning of their acting careers but they broke up when it became obvious the sex was great but the relationship not so much. Fast forward five years and they are both signed to star in a movie together. When the production is abruptly moved from France to the small country of Polis for the wedding scene things take a turn. The production used the elderly priest from the local church and what the actresses thought were autographs for the man was actually a marriage license. When a tabloid poking around for dirt on the former couple finds out this information it creates a huge buzz about the film and the studio asks the actresses to go along with the marriage until the film is released. Can the two actresses handle being married for a year or will they crash and burn taking the film with them?

Abo clexa meet when they’re young. Lexa is expected to be the alpha heda. But, puberty hits and she quickly finds shes an omega. Clarke is an alpha who becomes some sort of personal guard or idk, someone close to Lexa? And they use her alpha scent to mask Lexa’s omega scent. They spend years hiding it.
!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Anon your mind 💯 !!!!!
They are young warriors, both Anya's seconds, when they meet. They are thieves, both expected to present as alphas and both treated as such. There is a puppy crush there, but as Lexa is taught love is weakness and believes herself and Clarke to be alphas, she never reveals it, not even when Clarke manages to pin her down, only a few weeks before Lexa ascends, grinning hard and tells Lexa that she is actually kinda pretty.... for an alpha, that is.
Clarke presents early. At only age eleven, much earlier than any of the nightbloods or the warriors in her age group. She is isolated for her first rut and comes back so much more serious, like she has been to war. She tells Lexa all about how horrible it is and tells her to prepare for the pain and the growth and complains how being an alpha is horrible and sucks.
"Maybe I wont present as an alpha, Klark."
"Yeah right. Titus has you as his favorite already, he'd probably demand a new conclave if you won and then presented as an omega."
"Would it be that bad if I was an omega."
"Well I wouldn't be able to hang out with you as much."
"Would you stop being my friend if I wasnt an alpha?"
"Oh, so now you're sure you're an alpha?"
"Of course Klark, I have always been sure."
"Hm, I think you just say that because you would miss me."
The conclave happens much sooner than they anticipated. Luna and her brother have presented as alphas, the only nightbloods so far and Luna is the favorite to win. Clarke watches from the sidelines next to Anya, her protective alpha instinct begging her to go and protect her friend from certain death, but the heavy hand on her shoulder belonging to the older alpha girl prevents her from doing so. "She can do it on her own.". And when Lexa does win, Clarke cannot help but puff her chest out in pride for her friend.
Lexa is Heda now. Clarke is a few months short of completing her training. They see each other less now, but Lexa still sneaks out of the tower to spar with Clarke under the moonlight. They are fifteen now, older and only slightly wiser. Lexa steps into the training grounds late, looking small and terrified. Clarke smells her before she sees her and her eyes widen.
"Youre an omega."
"Hush your voice Klark." They fall silent. Clarke takes a step back, smelling the air again. She has never been this close to an omega clearly in heat. But Lexa is her friend and she wants to comfort her so she approaches her, Lexa doing the same. They are only a few inches away from hugging when Anya jumps out from the bushes.
"Step away from her second!"
"Anya, I wasn't-"
"Quiet."
It's Anya's idea. With Clarke this close to finishing her training and being Anya's second, it will be easy for Lexa to appoint her as a personal guard, especially as Lexa is newly presented. Both want to argue, Clarke wants to see the battlefield and fight for the coalition, Lexa wants no protection just because she presented as an omega, if they want to kill her, she will die with honor in her truth.
Stubborn proud children, Anya thinks with pride. She trained them that away. Anya asks Clarke to give Lexa her clothes to mask her scent. Tomorrow Lexa will announce she presented as an alpha and she will smell like one. Anya will take her to the bunker where she will spend her first heat alone, away from prying noses. Clarke will sleep in Lexa's commander clothes to assure when she comes back, Lexa smells exactly like the alpha she is supposed to be.
They do not talk until after Lexa's heat. It is weird for Lexa to see Clarke as an alpha now that she knows she herself is an omega. The heda in her demands she keeps her distance as she cannot afford to fall for her more than she already has, not with her... condition. The omega in her see in Clarke a noble alpha, the perfect mate. And suddenly they are forced to be closer than ever, trading clothes so Clarke's scent is always attached to Lexa, Clarke constantly by Lexa's side, having to match every emotion Lexa sends into a room, focusing so her scent is always stronger than Lexa's. And yet, they have never been further apart. They barely talk to one another, every accidental touch to charged with something they do no understand.
I want an angsty filled fic where they must share scents and be always so close to each other but suddenly what they based their friendship on is gone and neither know how to deal with the fact they are an alpha and an omega and not two alphas. Nor to they really get the fact they have scent marked each other by now, how Clarke's protectiveness is no longer just that of someone sworn to protect her Heda, how Lexa's feels lonely and betrayed when Clarke goes to spend her ruts away from her, sleeping with a beta who lives somewhere in the woods.
Shit hits the fan when Azgeda accuses Lexa of lying about her presentation, challenging her to fight to the death. Clarke insists she be chosen as champion but Lexa knows she must to do this on her own, prove that alpha or omega, she has the right to continue in her throne as Heda. After a night together where scent marking is traded by mating marks, Clarke finds it so much harder to watch Lexa get dressed in clothes Clarke has not marked with her scent, showing her true colors to the coalition for the very first time.

When Clarke was younger, she used to read a book that had one of her favorites quotes: ‘The dead are gone. The living are hungry.’ She always thought it was a powerful quote even if she couldn’t truly understand the meaning. Now she can understand it, however, it had lost all the meaning. In the new word, the dead are hungry and the living are gone.
And she was alone.
Well, maybe that wasn’t completely accurate.
