BEST EXPERIENCE : Honestly, this come back to tumblr after being away for like 3 years. The friendships and dynamics I've built with Clint on my return has been amazing, and I'm also very glad people like how I write him, cause I've pretty much picked up comic Clint and said "he's mine now. i'm giving him a whole new arc/plot/story to explore and away from canon" and people are buying into that. Thank you so much everyone! I love all my friends and writing partners here so much <3

RP PET PEEVES / DEALBREAKERS : Uhhh, pet peeves? I don't quite get what's with people not liking posts anymore or using the reply/comment feature more, like if you see someone posting an hc. Take a second to read? Give it a like or comment a heart even, if you're really that pressed to control your likes..... Dealbreakers, I haven't encountered anyone, I guess it'd be just if I pushed to write or make smut centric, but no one is doing that.

MUSE PREFERENCES : I like characters that have an internal struggle (lol that could be anyone). I don't know. I try to write so many types of characters, but characters like Clint I always come back too. Honestly, whatever is the character type that's been Clint Barton and Pepper Potts.

PLOTS OR MEMES : Memes are usually good to start, but I definitely wouldn't mind doing more plotting and giving a general direction to a thread. Although, really memes are great, and I truly appreciate those who send a bunch of memes, or don't mind treating some memes as one shots ( i love one shots ; just look at the length of some of my ask responses )

LONG OR SHORT REPLIES : Both. I want more shorter threads right now, but I have a knack for getting wordy and writing long things. This is why length matching does not matter, as long as there is enough substance to continue or something to help move something forward; a shorter reply to a longer reply is good; just as I tend to take a shorter thing and get longer with. This is also why I tend to like or mention with meme responses, like you can just reblog/save this and treat this as little one shot/drabble I wrote for you. I also tend to do the same.

BEST TIME TO WRITE : I don't get a lot of work, I am home all the time. So i'm bored a lot. So literally anytime, although I have a tendency to write a lot more late at night. For me, why I'm not writing is usually mood, or I don't have a very good set up for writing long haul; so if my neck, back, or hands and wrist start to cramp up cause my sit down to write isn't a good position/only position. That usually defeats me; like after I post this I will probably take a break, stretch, keep on my break and write a bit in a few hours.

ARE YOU LIKE YOUR MUSE(S) : Yes and no / I don't know. I know I'm the type of neurospicy where Clint Barton has rotten my brain for like the past 15 years or something; and I've been writing him for like 10 years; that I'm probably funny like Clint is, but who actually knows lol. I try to be normal and healthy with muse and mun separation; even if his whole recovery arc is very important and real to me; and I will live in the delusion that is what I am getting from the comics as in I will just write it myself on my roleplay blog (this is a joke; legally I have to say that I think)

There is something to be said about the other side of the fence. Parts of it he will grumble about because he's Clint and he needs something to run his mouth over, complain about. There was good to this side of the fence, now he wouldn't say it had miracles or the secrets to a happy, good life. Well, it has some. It made some people in his life make more sense.

Clint knows that he has to get better at the talking bit, that's a thing about this side of the fence. It's a lot of talking, or at least for him if he wanted it to stick. Therapy, friends, and allies. Talk to them, that had made Kate happy with him. Others too. Talking about IT, the thing that he's now in an exclusive must-wreck-your-life-first club with Carol.

They knew about each other, the thing, and than better yet they know each other. It's the second more emphasized KNOW each other, that mattered to him right now. ❝ Believe it or not, I think I'm running out of jokes for that. ❞ He laughs, and then start to heave a sigh. Ahw shit, heavy topic.

❝ C'mon, Cap, you're better than that. ⸻ but if he's at his girlfriend's place, well, I've been banned from showing up. ❞ And he's not poking either of those bears. Still, Carol's not a last resort or a next best thing. Sure, he could talk to Leonard like he would and he might, but well, Sparkle's in town.

Star Trek says it's the final frontier. These are the voyage of the starship BLAH BLAH, it's five year mission (dear fuck almighty please don't be a five year mission ⸺ let's change that to mission of indeterminate time), to explore new worlds (scratch that not applicable), to seek out new life and new civilizations (pretty sure they had already fought very old and familiar problem and kicked their ass), to boldly go where no man has gone before (he could name several people off the top of his head that has probably been here before)

Tony Stark, Sue Storm, Johnny Storm, Reed Richards, Ben Grimm, Bucky Barnes, Thor, Vision, Hank Pym, Bruce Banner, Spiderman, the list goes on, do you get the point?

THE CAPTAIN MARVEL HERSELF.

He could name even more NERDS AND GEEKS who would be thrilled to be hijacked for adventures in space. What were none of them available, granted this had started out as a dimension hopping, fall into a portal kind of thing that only went one way.

Clint had a whole speech thought up just special for Carol Danvers on why him being out here was a terrible idea. HE DIDN'T REALLY HAVE A CHOICE ANYMORE. It had started like this with complaining about the last time that he had gotten hijacked and ended up in space. HE HAD BEEN NAKED, and than he had to rescue Agent Coulson and Agent Fury from a space and terrifying cybiote called The Fury.

NOT A FUN TIME.

Than said speech, which he thought was a real winner except it had done the opposite of what he had wanted and had in fact proven his competence as one of the older aveners, when the OGs retired beside CAP? Who was on the new team, the first next set? HIM. Clint went on to explain how archery worked, with the idea that his counter point was that he would be in useless in space.

A BOW IS BASICALLY A LONG ROD WITH TWO ENDS CONNECTED BY A STRING. The bow bends when the archer (him, the master marksmen) pulls back on the string. The bow can bend because it made of an elastic material. Bending the bow gives it elastic potential energy. DO I NEED TO EXPLAIN ARROWS TO YOU, CAROL? The arrow is a long, straight shaft. It has a pointed object on one end (the arrowhead but I have more cooler trick heads) and a balancing device, such a feather (that's the fletching; the hen, and cock or index, plus the nock) on the other end. WHAT DIDN'T EXPLAIN OLD HAWKEYE TO UNDERSTAND PHYSICS? The archer (again him, greatest archer alive) hold the feather end of the arrow against the string while pulling it back. Releasing the string thrusts the arrow forward with the elastic force of the bow. The elastic potential energy of the bow is converted to the kinetic energy of the arrow. GRAVITY IS INVOLVED. SPACE DOESN'T HAVE THAT EARTH RULES OF PHYSIC DO NOT APPLY. SPACE SUCKS SEND HIM HOME, DANVERS.

Beside that, he had taken some tech and spent an eternality figuring out how to rig his arrows to function more like mini rockets which he has had rocket arrows before so this wasn't that much a stretch. DON'T LET ANYONE KNOW HE'S SMART. This is the only thing he was good with to be far, ask him for no help with anything else; all his ideas come stolen from others or breaking down tech from all his smart friends (tony stark is his biggest victim) and macguyvering some bullshit.

And here he goes being dragged down the hallway and presented with a table of cards. GO TO SPACE THEY SAY. IT'LL BE FUN. Now the old carny, the thief and the conman in him knows what a card game was. He knows how to rig them, win them, and lose them. Knows a card trick or two, nothing like Gambit but he's cheating (he's got powers and all Clint has is childhood raised by criminals).

He's particularly good at strip poker. ❝ Please tell me this is strip poker. ❞ Not that he thinks there is chance he's getting lucky with anyone here, either indisposed like the particular captain was for a particular Peter (probably one of the better peters even if he knows for a fact he did not own hawkeye merch because he's clint barton's biggest fan but he would agree on being a kate bishop fan himself so he gets the pass) or they scared him.

He's just a mortal human man who liked keeping his heels dug firmly in Earth dirt. HE SHOULD HAVE BROUGHT UP THE COWBOY ARGUMENT. He's a cowboy, a fan of the old Wild West, not an astronaut.

❝ I am very good at strip poker. ❞ He loses on purpose, because it than mean he gets to strip and the ladies he typically played with would oogle him and perhaps make a bad decision with him for one night only (unless Natasha or Bobbi was there but not the other than that could turn into three night mistake for his heart). NO ONE IS NAKED YET, so he has to rule out strip poker which is a pity; as Clint determines this since he had been brooding in his cot (dealing with cravings and yearning for home) while it sounded like games had started. No one is nude which rules out stripe poker. DARN.

IT'S A GENIUS IDEA ⸻ She's got to respect the genius of this idea. Yet Carol seems to be hung up on the fact he's figured out lawyer competition that'll beat out Jennifer Walters. Now he might need to have Lucky with him all time, because hopefully Jen won't kick his ass in front of his dog (and lawyer).

Lucky is a heartbreaker, a real dog's dog (whatever that means), and he thinks he's got the intelligence to plea his case. ❝ If Dog Cops can have a successful eleven seasons and three tv movies, why can't Lucky be a real lawyer? ❞ You know Dog Cops, the fictional tv show that's made up at least twelve percent of Clint's personality. ❝ Awright, Luck, give Carol what you got. ❞

The dog raises his head, stares between the two of them with his one ear than goes to put his head in Carol's lap to beg for food. THAT'S SOMETHING, RIGHT? Clint's got an expectant look on his face (c'mon lucky, you aren't helping his case here)

WAIT, WAIT ⸻ ❝ You don't think Jess will visit me if I went to prison. . . ? ❞ Maybe he needs to reconsider this whole thing, or maybe it's just that Carol don't think he'd get sent to a prison that'll allow conjugal visits. ⸻ Which would, WAIT A MINUTE, he's not going to prison, right? ❝ Not even once? ❞ ⸻ Ignoring the question about why he was going to court (it's not big deal, and he should have said courthouse not court itself ⸺ semantics, y'know).

How did he not see HER coming? That was really an oversight for him, which is ironic because he was the Hawkeye. Guy whose vision isn't special at all, but he's got a sharp wit about him, who notices things, who sees all the angles for lining up the perfect shot. DID NOT SEE HER COMING.

It's inevitable right, that the news would break that he's dating Jessica again? WITH HIS TRACK RECORD TO RELATIONSHIPS? ⸻ The fact he was dating an ex again, should not be surprising, he had really liked her. STILL LIKED HER. Clint thought, that perhaps, there would be more of a grace period before others were finding out about the two of them were being fools again.

Carol wouldn't even need a shovel for shovel talk, could simply eject him out into space (he'd probably burn up in the atmosphere) and that'd be end of Clint as we all knew it. Could he argue to her, that HIS GIRLFRIEND (see he's grown; they were using labels), would probably be sad that he was a pile of dust?

616 / main verse + divergence.

Finally writing my 616 verse up. Most 616 centric comics up from Clint's original appearance in the 60s up until the 2016 era of comics are canon and then from 2016 onwards, we start going heavily canon divergent from Civil War 2 and after. Instances of my 616 verse are specific and separate between rp partners, each post, and ships but some things remain always canon.

-> CW2 is handled very different and leans more into Government/Corrupt Politicians versus Superheroes. Clint does kill Bruce Banner, he does go on trial, and his reasoning is a lot more personal to himself and his long friendship with Bruce Banner; no one but Bruce and him truly know why he did it.

-> Occupy Avengers is vastly divergent, but the team of Red Wolf, Clint Barton, Nighthawk, Tilda, and Wheels going around solving problems does happen.

-> We ignore Secret Empire's existence and other marvel events from 2016 to Devil's Reign.

-> Kate's West Coast Avengers does happen and is mostly the same.

-> Carnage event with Clint, Cap, Spiderman, Logan, and Thing does happen.

-> Hawkeye: Freefall is canon and mostly untouched in changes made

-> Thunderbolts 2022 is largely changed that should it even count as happening? Clint is not leader of this TBs, but he is on the team

-> The jury is out on Black Widow & Hawkeye (2024), but signs point to non-canon or heavily divergent.

-> The rest of this post is detailing the this blog canon-divergent events from 2016 comics to 2022 comics.

Following the events of his acquittal for the killing of Bruce, Clint Barton goes on a long trip across the country. He travels from state to state, bar hopping, and trying to solve every day problems of average citizens. He ends with small team of lost souls along the way. His roadside hero days end when Kate Bishop calls for his help in setting up her own West Coast Avengers. Eventually, the call comes in for him to help Captain America with a crisis which lands him back in New York, which he had been staying away from.

This goes poorly as the city has changed, such as Wilson Fisk is now mayor. New York and what has happened to Superheroes is a big trigger for him, and it leads to excessive drinking and vigilantism. The pardoning of a known crime boss he had just busted leads to Clint starting guerilla warfare, while masked as Ronin himself, against the Hood. After his defeat of the Hood, Clint flees New York ago and goes on another soul searching journey, now a pariah amongst many of his friends.

The next time that Clint returns to New York, is after an accident and crisis of life he had while on the road. Things have hopefully cooled down, moved on from his Ronin stunts and Clint's trying to fix his life, cut back on drinking, go sober (he's barely managing three months), and make a real change with himself. Make amends with his friends, with the Avengers, and find his place back in superhero society. Luke Cage is now mayor and offers him a way to do superheroics by the book as being part of the reclaimed NYC Thunderbolts, in hopes to repair New York's relationship with superheroes.

After a relapse early on with his new Thunderbolts team and a very heavy phone call with Bobbi, Clint attempts going sober fully again and this time with help. Present day Clint is struggling still with everything, trying to get back on good diet and workout routine, manage sobriety and self care, as well as battle with the internal war of his feelings about being on a super team and pondering if street level vigilantism may be his path in life now, and making amends with his friends and the avengers.

-> To keep with his sobriety, Clint has the help of his friends, and one of who he calls his sponsor, @danversiism

-> Lucky is with him most of the team instead of Lucky being with Kate; the dog has been trained by him after all to be a disability aid (hearing dog), given Lucky tends to let him know when someone at the door as well as helps him feel secure in his home (dog will alert to intruders if he is sleeping) or comes with him on when he goes out in the world without his hearing aids in

-> Clint has three therapists in total since trying to put his life back together, manage his depression and adhd, cope with his trauma, and stick to sobriety. The first one was Lynette, who eventually he had move on from, a second one who shall not be named because he was not a good fit, and this third, most recent one is Johanna.
