Connection Description:

The twins were 6 they were taken away from Boston and memory wiped by their mother to forget Silas. They also had their last names changed to their mother’s surname. Your character would have been a baby/toddler still so most likely wouldn’t be subjected to as strong or any memory wiping at all.

They have a half sibling named Jasmine Chamberlain, that they were unaware of until 3 years ago when she came to town and told them of her existence.

Alyssa Reed remarried quickly to Miles Hale who would be their step dad as they grew up. Likely it was possible that they were close to Miles, since they would be the youngest and didn’t have a father figure already in their life.

Your character would always be have been treated as the baby of the family by the twins and their parents. They would be the one constantly protected and sheltered from the darkness of the world around them.

After the twins went away when they turned eighteen they were probably put even more on a lockdown by Miles and Alyssa and weren’t allowed to leave Lunar Cove. Wanting to prevent the family image from further being tarnished/losing another child.

When Miles and Yasmin (the former supreme) both died in 2022. Alyssa shaped your character up to be the next supreme even though they never wanted it. Thankfully they failed out of the trial pretty quickly, which cause discourse with Alyssa. Especially when Poppy later became Supreme.

In June 2023, Poppy was murdered by Kyle Kane. It caused an uproar in the coven which all present members (and non coven members) voted that she be brought back. Jasmine brought Poppy back, but as a result for bringing a her back Alyssa Reed died in her place.

Your character would also be aware Silas Chamberlain is their father since he was in town during December 2023, and he was turned into a werewolf by Nico Castillo. The family is still unsure where he is now, but they know someone like Silas doesn’t just die.

I need to remind everyone that canonically Jayfeather doesn't have cataracts or any other condition that would make his eyes look any different from a sighted person's. During Po3 characters around him constantly forget he's not sighted and the one time it's remarked upon is when Flamepaw notices how he doesn't make eye contact, something which he then imitates upon being told it's making him uncomfortable. I understand the desire to convey visually that he's blind, but not only is it a pet-peeve of mine to see virtually any depiction of him do that, it's also a complaint I see discussed regarding blind/visually impaired people with regards to their representation. How the stereotype of blindness always being visible in the eyes leads them to be accused of faking and how they wish it could be represented visually by giving blind characters assistive devices like white canes.

Connection Description:

After the murder of the former Coalition Leader on July 4, 2022, the Coalition held an election for leader, with Benjamin Anak Bandi winning the election and becoming the Human Coalition’s new leader. Your character would become Ben’s advisor not soon after.

The two of you have been Coalition members together for well over a decade now. Perhaps you’ve always living in Lunar Cove, or perhaps you arrived shortly before Ben (he’s been in town for over fifteen years) 

You and Ben are either peers of around the same age, or your character is a bit older, but totally down for workshopping how you believe their relationship might have developed. Ben himself is a pretty amicable guy, so, at least on his end, there wouldn’t be any bad blood.

Speaking of Ben’s amicable personality, it might be interesting if your character has a bit more steel. Ben’s no pushover, but he also tries to find solutions that lead to the least amount of bloodshed possible, and he’s heavily concerned with minimizing the loss of life. He’s not fond of dishing out strenuous punishments, and he tends to ere on the side of teaching lessons as opposed to serious reprimanding. Your character could possibly be the one that proposes the hard solutions that Ben doesn’t want to consider.

On a slightly different note, with the increase of hunters and Lunar Cove being the only supernatural safe haven left in the entire world, your character could be increasingly concerned about human/supernatural relations, particularly if they might start turning sour in the town. Also, with this increase in population, there’s also an increase in supernaturals unaffiliated with their specific species groups. How are we feeling about that? Annoyed about the extra paperwork? All of these are things to consider!

Just as Ben was elected to the position of Council Leader, your character was also elected to the role of advisor.

actually fucking insane that badgerfang dying horribly on the battlefield and the other kits praising his death as a great honour was only used to show that ‘brokenstar is so evil and the kits are innocent little babies!’ and not to show how horrific the effects of extreme patriotism can be on youth in times of war. how scary it is to tell your child that dying for the state is more honourable than living a fulfilling life.

Thank you oh so much <3 it’s honestly shocking! It’s kind of nice to know im repeating the lineage of giving people cat brainworms. It’s more than okay!!!

I don’t know if this is entirely what you mean, but!!! I’m gonna be honest, a lot of it is making basic shapes and silhouettes. Usually I do more semi realistic cats. And a lot of it is your sense of shape language!!!!! But, I’ll take you through the steps. (Keep in mind that a lot of this is better said than done, as this is from years of being a self taught artist.) this may end up being a thread? There’s also plenty of artists who do cat tutorials WAY better than me. None of this is really defined!

1) CIRCLES AND SQUARES.

Twilight ended up with a circle shape, but as you’ll notice she actually ended up with a more triangle shape! Circles and squares are a best friend.

2) Basic shaping

Anytime you draw, you probably already have a pose in mind. I usually like to shape it out and mold it kind of like clay!!! But the real refinery comes later. Again, keep it basic. You iron out the details later and if you get stressed too fast due to detailing it’ll put you off from the drawing in general.

3) Minor detailing

Since Twilight was sitting, this is just kind of outlining a placement and shape for the limbs and chest I liked. This also includes tail placement!

4) Rough Flats!!!

This is the moment where you of course do the flat base color! As you can see this is usually pretty rough. Again, clay! You’re doing a basic cookie cut shape and smoothing it into the shapes you want come later. As you’ll notice I leave the tail for later since it’s usually BEHIND them and it’s less headache.

5) Put the sketch layer on top and lower the opacity !

This is where more detailing comes in. Like placement of the eyes and patterns. As you’ll notice I’ve ironed out the shaping!!!

6) Mapping

This is pelt mapping!!! Of course, it’s mapping out the patterns and shapes of a cats fur to a place im content with. Again, this kind of plays into your understanding of shapes.

7) Color!!!!

I’ll end it here, but this is for playing around on a clipping layer once you figure out a placement and color you like!!!! Airbrushing, stippling, the pattern and detail is up to play with!!!

8) And you have yourself a pretty decent cat!

Remember, shapes and exaggeration of features are your best friend!

a repeat but a more standard show of anatomy: my snow leopard study! But as you can see even in the character design I give them poof and exaggeration to make expression. Even in the final product I think I will mess around with the shapes to give off whatever vibe I want! Even as you can see for the full body I referenced I blocked out the character instead of really following the shapes.
