there’s nothing explicit or even sexual in here but it’s trauma-influenced bdsm so i’m readmoring it

one concept i havent seen but would really enjoy if done thoughtfully is ed kinking on stede treating him with the same degree of paternalism he got from izzy and jack (and i’m guessing hornigold) but, since it’s stede, there are no putdowns or punishments, just a gentle but mandatory guiding hand that coerces ed into nice things that feel good and comforting instead of horrible things that feel stressful and isolating, and thank goodness he doesn’t have to worry anymore about whether he actually is unfit to make decisions for himself, because this time the Guy Who Knows What’s Best For Him really does know what’s best for him, so all he needs to do is let himself be led in the Right Direction.

obviously stede is most likely to have serious reservations about the cnc dimension this needs to imply, even under the nonsexual conditions i’m imagining here; if he did think it through and decide he was open to trying it out he’d still probably be more comfortable leaving some modicum of agency for ed (eg. “It’s sunny today so I think I’ll dress you in something light.
