‘Sure’, The two of us go and sit on the swing seat

but what do you guys think?’ I ask and Emel is the first to speak up

‘You should definitely wear that’

‘I agree, Jazzy you will look so hot!’, Bea exclaims and I try it on 

‘Woah, when did it get so hot in here?’

‘I’m guessing that means you guys like it?’

‘We definitely do! I wish I could take 

you on a date’

‘Bea I’d be honoured to go on a date with you’, I give her a soft smile

Max and I take a stroll to our date,

once we arrive we see a table with chairs for us along with champagne on the table 

Max pulls out my chair for me and I sit down 

‘What a gentleman you are!’

‘Only the best for you’, Max winks as he starts to pour champagne into my glass,

I glance at him and Max is wearing a grey top with jeans along with his chain 

‘You really are the prettiest boy ever’,

I blurt out and I feel myself turn red and I watch as Max beams 

‘Ooh am I? I think you look absolutely stunning right now, you always do but especially right now’

‘Aww thanks, yes you definitely are! 

I honestly think that you’re so handsome’

I notice Max blush 

‘Thank you too! May I ask you about your last relationship?’, He asks and I nod

‘Yeah sure, I was with him for 5 years from 15 to 20 and I’ve been single ever since’

‘5 years is a long time, what happened?’

‘He cheated on me twice with the girl that he told me not to worry about’

‘His loss though’

‘Exactly! At least I got to come here to have fun and hopefully find the love of my life’

‘I think he might be sitting

I very much want to hear about the insane thrift haul!

omg OK so for context i love thrifting but i own wayyyy too many clothes so i have been good lately and have NOT been thrifting. however!!! the weekend before last i ruined my fav jeans (not thrifted) and rly needed to replace them because i wore them constantlyyyyy. so i went to my fav thrift store (which i frequent so often i know the staff by name L M A O) and my expectations were honestly low—

because these were like the PERFECT jeans. ankle length, baggy, high waist, ACTUAL denim w no stretch, in a nice light wash. they were expensive when i bought them—but they lasted me FOREVER and i wore the HELL out of them—and i knew i could get another pair but thought i'd tryyyy to find them thrifted just on the off chance.

i like to thrift jeans in the men's section as they are often better quality, actual denim, and vintage, plus they're usually priced more reasonably than women's clothes. and as soon as i stepped up to the rack i found basically. an EXACT REPLICA. of my favourite jeans. EXCEPT!!! THEY ARE ACTUAL VINTAGE!! in perfect condition. the thrift store doesn't have fitting rooms so i had to take a gamble on them but when i got them home and tried them on they were a PERFECT fit too. they're probably from the 80s/early 90s based on the brand and tag and i swear to god they fit like they were MADE for me. and i paid less than the price of a 6-inch subway sandwich for em.

i was riding a real high after finding these, so then i braved the women's section where i found:

a GORGEOUS midi dress. it's not vintage but it's from a nice brand WITH THE ORIGINAL TAGS STILL ON IT?? it has with short sleeves, a tie-belted waist, a pleated skirt, and it's a light cornflower blue with a pretty floral pattern!!

THEN!! i found an absolutely unreallllllll vintage, faux-suede-ish 2-piece co-ord set in a rly rly nice camel-y toffee colour. it has a pair of high waist, wide leg trousers + a button-down overshirt kind of top (it also had shoulder pads and beading all along the collar and pockets of the shirt, but i have since removed those lmaooooo.) it is a little bit yee haw but i'm SOOOOOOOO into it and it fits me PERFECTLY.

then i was getting rly bold so i was like ok lets check the ladies pants section just to see what's up. i found a nice (non-vintage) ecru coloured pair of jeans: high waist, wide leg, good quality denim. they didn't look worn at all. i didn't quite recognize the brand enough to say whether or not they were actually ""good"" but i was like fuck it we ball and got them too. i get them home, look up the brand. these jeans... are basically brand new..... still available on the manufacturer's website........ for $118 United States of American dollars.

i also got a little wicker basket for my board games if that is of interest to u... but that one is not as exciting hehe.

Keeley checked her reflection once more in the mirror, deliberating whether she should keep her hair tucked or untucked in case it made her ears look too big. Thankfully, Noah wasn’t around to lounge on the sofa and make fun of her - although, if pressed, she would admit that she missed having his annoying ass around, especially now that there were rumours circulating about the Shattered Diamonds extending their tour. In this instance, she could set her own clinginess aside and take a moment to feel grateful that he wasn’t here to mercilessly tease her about how much she was fretting about her appearance.

Normally, her hair was scraped back in a ponytail or braided into two French plaits so she could teach her tinies how to do gymnastics. But although a lot of work went into deciding which pink two-piece she wanted to wear to the gym, she didn’t have much time to worry about things like make-up or what anyone else would think about her. He laughed at the kind of jokes Noah would normally roll his eyes at, he paid her compliments about things that went further than her looks and he let her talk his ear off about Animal Crossing even though she doubted he cared at all about her island. He was just nice and he was good-looking and that accent? It was altogether impossible for Keeley not to fall for a boy that made her feel safe.

Hence the reason she felt like she was slipping back into old habits, letting the thud-thud of her heart when she thought about Théo’s smile dictate how she saw herself whenever she looked in the mirror. At least this time she’d managed to convince herself to wear an outfit that she felt comfortable in, like her pink Docs, white skater skirt and matching baby-tee with strawberries embroidered on it. It felt like her, but she still felt herself hoping that Théo would like the way she looked in it.

Which was ridiculous! This wasn’t even a date! It was just the two of them hanging out without Elodie and Lando for once. And as much as she liked Théo’s twin sister and knew Lando from streaming, she was glad to be able to finally hang out with Théo one on one. It was hard to get a read on him in a group setting. Normally, Lando took up too much of his attention for Keeley to ever be able to pull his focus back to her but if the two of them finally got to spend some time together on their own, maybe she’d be able to see if it was possible for this crush of hers to actually mean something. 

The buzzer for her apartment sounded and she bit her lip, casting herself another baleful look in the mirror and suddenly feeling too pale and too freckly and too nothing. Grabbing her pink denim jacket from where she’d flung it haphazardly over the arm of the sofa the night before she slid it on and made her way downstairs, feeling clammy and panicky and like she should maybe fake an illness and call this whole thing off. That was, up until she opened the door and found Théo’s smiling face on the other side.

Her heart beat out that familiar, funny little rhythm again and she was helpless to do anything but smile back as her eyes traced his white teeth and the way his blonde hair flopped charmingly into his eyes. 

“Hi,” she greeted him softly, no longer feeling like she wasn’t worthy of spending time with him. Théo wasn’t the kind of guy to make her feel bad about herself, she was sure of it. If anything, he was the kind of guy whose only fault would be sending ‘Sweet Nothing’ by Taylor Swift to the very top of her Spotify unwrapped by the end of the year. God, she hoped they’d be something more by the end of the year, actually.

“Are you ready to go? I figured you hadn’t been down Troutman just yet and they have this thing there called the Bushwick Collective. It’s like this organised street art display and it’s totally free. I’ve never bothered with it but I know you like art so I figured… it might be something you want to see?” She winced as her voice went up at the end, wondering if she should be embarrassed about all the overthinking she’d done in order to come up with an outing so specifically tailored to Théo’s interests.

            LOVE + FEAR TOUR: OLIMA & WESTWOOD

In the first chapter of our “Love + Fear” Tour fashion story, we looked at the impeccable designs LA-based Maggie Barry created for our girl’s fourth promotional tour. This time, we’re gonna take a look at the all the super fun corset costumes Marina wore!

We’re starting off strong with a custom set by OLIMA. The detailed corset top and matching silky shorts were custom-made by the Los Angeles-based costume designer in various colors and prints. The first one in plain teal!

All of Marina’s jewelry here is signed by Sylvia Toledano. She wore the Petite Candy hoops in gold brass with turquoise, turquoise verte, cornaline, yellow onyx, amethyst, died ruby and moonstone...

...the Fall/Winter 2019 Lee long necklace with multicolored stones which she wrapped twice around her neck...

...and the Byzantine cuff with green turquoise, dried ruby, turquoise, amethyst, cornaline, green onyx, tiger eye, yellow onyx, black onyx and calcedoine.

Her shoes, which match her co-ord perfectly, are Nike’s Air Max 1 Ultra Moire women’s sneakers in white leather and teal suede.

For many other tour dates, Marina opted for a pink version of the same ensemble! This one features some ruching along the sides of the corset and a subtle fringe trim along the hem of her shorts.

You should instantly recognize these stunners by now. These pink Jelly hoops belong to the “Loucite” collection of Alison Lou!

Our girl also added on some golden accessories from Lilith by Sita. First up, the Sita snake thin choker in brass.

Not to forget, her Sita gold-plated brass snake charm and chain belt!

Marina loves being comfortable on stage! So a pair of the Nike Huarache sneakers in full white completed the look.

The cutest corset ever is this white & blue silk one that features a printed photo of Marina’s two fur kittens Mavis and Jupiter! She also wore some high-waisted lace-up silk shorts.

For some other tour dates, Marina opted for this rich purple silk co-ord set with green paintbrush stroke-esque bits...

...which she matched with the Tuleste chartreuse marabou pom-pom dangle earrings.

For her show in Austin (TX), Marina debuted a white silk corset with coral & gold abstract jacquard front, and high-waisted mini skirt with two slits.

She accessorized with her beloved Chanel gold-tone metal diamond-shaped textured CC logo clip earrings…

...and the gold sunburst logo necklace, another vintage treasure from the French maison. Also, the aforementioned Lilith by Sita choker.

One of the most iconic looks from her tour is the Vivienne Westwood Spring/Summer 1988 “Pagan I” collection boned silk corset featuring the iconic pink teddy bear. 

Her billowy silk ruffle shorts are custom-made by OLIMA.

The second Vivienne Westwood silk corset comes from the Fall/Winter 1992 “Always on Camera” collection and features a collie print with 3D bow at the front. It was sourced at Paparazzi 2000 Vintage.
