National Hot Chocolate Day is a joyous occasion dedicated to celebrating the warm and comforting beverage that has become a winter staple for many. This delightful observance, typically held on January 31st in the United States, invites people to indulge in the rich, velvety goodness of hot chocolate.
On National Hot Chocolate Day, individuals often seek out their favorite hot chocolate recipes or visit cafes and chocolatiers to savor this classic winter treat. The day is marked by the enjoyment of steaming mugs filled with creamy, chocolatey goodness, often topped with whipped cream, marshmallows, or a dusting of cocoa powder.

Before Christine can find her older son, Mr. Winchester has motioned for her to talk to him, standing in the doorway of the dugout. "Dean," he says, holding out his hand for Christine to shake.
"Christine," she replies, shaking Dean's hand, his wedding ring clinking against her own. "You're very good with kids, I'm assuming you and your wife have a few?" she says, praying her adult conversation skills are good enough to hold a small conversation with her son's coach.
Dean laughs, a big smile stretching across his face. "Yeah, Cas and I got a couple, quite a road to get here, though. Jack and Ben are ours, for starters," Dean explains, laughing to himself about something.
Christine just smiles in response, nodding. Happy guy, the opposite of her impression of him earlier in the season, barking out commands for the kids to run like the wind, get to that base, etcetera. "Oh, my oldest, Luke, he's just obsessed with Ben, wants to be just like him when he's older. You and Cas have done a wonderful job with him, getting him to volunteer here and all that."
"Oh, Ben asked to volunteer with me, all on his own accord. He loves littles, though he wasn't quite a fan a few years ago. Jack's adoption was a shock to him, but they're best buds now, it's all good." Christine gets the vague feeling that Dean's oversharing on accident, chuckling nervously to himself as he waves it off.

About Theresa Reuter
I have always been attracted to how things grow and move- how the life within is expressed. I try to capture that feeling with whatever technique or subject I work with. My current work has been focused on paintings of trees and horses. Trees have always been an inspiration in my life. My nickname is Tree which I have been called first by my Mother and then my Husband and now many friends call me Tree today. Even though trees are planted their twists and turns reveal a kind of wisdom. I believe strongly in the preservation of our trees and hope that my work inspires people to respect and be advocates for our forests.
My horse paintings express movement by using the paint itself. Instead of my traditional approach I had an epiphany to combine the paint in time with a silhouette of my subject that captures the point of suspension. By letting the paint flow each painting reveals unique characteristics and details making them abstract improvisational works of art.I hope that within this variety you find your own favorites and or personal connection.
Since 2007 my work has been in several galleries and gift shops- Hunters and Gatherers in Brevard NC; Two Friends Gallery in Tryon NC; Upstairs Downstairs Gallery in Ocala FL; Bellas in Asheville NC; Red Clover Gallery in Landrum SC; Carolina Gallery of Art in Spartanburg SC; Gallery on Main in Brevard NC;  Gallery 32 and Frame in Brevard NC; and Highlands Gallery in Highlands NC. I was recently invited to show at ACME studios in Wilmington NC and was featured in the June Wrightsville Beach Magazine. I am currently in the Blue Moon Gallery and sell to private collectors.
I also travel to horse shows to sell my work and paint portraits of people, dogs and horses. I was asked to do a portrait and presentation for Hall of Fame Major league pitcher Gaylord Perry of his late wife for a ceremony in Gafney SC at Limestone College where he cocoached his first Baseball team with his wife.
I sold two of my paintings of Steve Martin that were signed by him.
I completed a book with Kenson Thompson (another wonderful local artist) of paintings by me and Kenson telling the story of a beautiful garden and stories from the group of women who tend it.
For more fun I enjoy creating raku clay pieces that I sell locally.
I also have great fun doing pleinair painting at the local tailgate market.
Before all this I lived in the Fingerlakes region of New York State. I have a BFA  in Illustration from the Columbus College of Art and Design and a Masters in Education. I taught art in the public schools for 16 years. It was always rewarding to see the variety of creative solutions that came from one idea in an atmosphere where children felt safe and excited about expressing themselves with Art.
