Solstheim Interlude 1: The Elves of House Telvanni

Since I have roughly the same amount of mainland elves left to do as there are on Solstheim, I'm going to make every other post about my Solstheim elf designs. Just for some variety!

Anyways, this is gonna be a long one, so I'm hiding the details under a cut.

Elynea Mothren

I wasn't satisfied with her original hair, so here is an updated one.

Neloth

Lotsa little tweaks on my original design, maybe not that noticeable to anyone but me.

I did also come up with two additional hairstyle options, though: bald and Morrowind (bald without a beard.)

Talvas Fathryon

I wanted to make him look young (to match his voice.)

I really like how his ears and nose turned out

Also, I wanted to give him some distinctly Dunmeri robes (with myconic prosthetic), instead of College of Winterhold castoffs.

Varona Nelas

Varona got a few more Morrowind-y cultural touches, as well as some custom robes

I've also made some robe for her replacement, though I'm not sure how to make him wear them at the moment.

Ulves Romoran

Tel Mithryn's resident chef (once you snap him out of his trance.) I gave him some proper chef's clothing as well as a scarf.)

Ildari Sarothril

I haven't decided whether or not to cover all named, unique enemies, but I do like making spooky magic baddies (not that I blame Ildari one bit.)

I have had this fanfic in my TBR list for so long that I forgot about this until yesterday. It's titled "The Chronicles of Dean's Bisexuality" by mnwood (@deancasheadcanons on tumblr), and honestly, it's one of the best I've read so far.

I didn't think it was possible to be as invested in a long fanfic as I was with shorter ones or the show itself but WOW ! This is a piece of art.

You might want to read the Warnings carefully because it's explicit. Everything is described, from the feelings to the physical acts but if you don't mind, it's worth it !

- it seems like hilde has actual trauma from the events of Codb which.. valid. It makes sense after the whole shitshow he experienced in the catacombs and at the end of the book (rip homuncolossus, you would've loved ao3). he needs therapy. I don't even think they have therapy in zamonia but they should definitely invent it, cause oh boy...

- and yeah. our dino being the ONLY one who didn't get seasick on that boat? press x to doubt. I smell bullshit my guy.

- 1 and a half hours of explaining all the cool stuff he saw in the museum? very moers thing to do. atp i would be kind of suspicious that someone else wrote it if this kind of thing wasn't there haha

-so the Quaquappa is kind of like a parallel to the shadow kings story and Hildegunst is automatically feeling for it cause it reminds him of him? ಥ⁠‿⁠ಥ ouch. I may or may not be crying. it's actually really sad to see just how affected he is by Homuncolossus' death (for the context I haven't yet read the labyrinth of dreaming books so I didn't have the chance to see it aside from a couple of people mentioning here that he is VERY affected)

-also I love the Quaquappa. I've never heard of it until this day but I love the Quaquappa.

i feel like millions of English-speaking contemporary romance writers struggle with fleshing out strong and convincing romantic relationships in their works while the craziest, most serious and reckless magnetic 'love-and-affection' magic was accidentally assigned to a couple of barely humanoid creatures in a whimsical fantasy/dark fairy tale book written by a reclusive German author

Introducing, the Bell family, our protagonists.

This story takes place in the middle 1970s, so I did a lot of research on what people were wearing during that time, and what kind of handmedowns Chris would receive from her grandparents. I also took heavy inspiration for the art style from cartoons from that era as well.

I've never written a fic rec before and I'm not sure why, but let me just say, I've stopped sobbing long enough to get around to it.

If you lovehate supernatural and regularly think about how it could've been a great show except for like... you know, a lot of everything about it, please read The Chronicles of Dean's Bisexuality. It sounds like it should be funny - it is - or smut - it is, but also it's just an amazing rewrite of the entire show, it’s just-- like, dudes, you're not understanding me, it's literally SO good??? I loved it the entire way through and it is so thoroughly researched and well-written, I'm honestly sad it ended which is weird because I'm looking at the original show like ‘please let this dead horse rest in peace’ but as I said this is amazing and just... yeah. This is so cheesy and dumb, but I'm emotional, it made me remember why I loved the show so much to begin with.

When you are enlightened

So, right off the bat, I don’t ship destiel, I dont know why. I ship cockles wholeheartedly. Anyways, I was reading whms and from there i got to know codb existed and I loved it. I loved the characterisation and non canon aspects of the fic. Mostly I love how it was not only dean-cas but Dean’s overall journey of dealing and accepting his sexuality. I am always a little biased towards the author “she is my favorite” shhh...  But yeah, go read it here. Go read and give it some love. Maybe you will too be enlightened.
