Was privileged to attend the official Netflix premiere of Code 8 part 2. I thought it was great! Not going to change the world but when it comes to superpowers vs cool robots, it's got a lot of punch! Great acting, pacing, music, sound effects and of course, VFX. But then I am a bit biased regarding that last point 😉

It starts on the 28th so I recommend checking it out!

I have mixed feelings about Code 8: Part Two.

Whilst Part Two took a bit of a darker turn (when compared to Part One)... the story itself has been done before in other movies.

Netflix has released the trailer for Code 8 Part II. In this sequel to Code 8, Connor (Robbie Amell) is out of prison and working as a janitor at a community center, having cut ties with his former criminal associate Garrett (Stephen Amell). Connor’s attempt at staying out of trouble is destroyed when he’s forced to help 14-year-old Pav (Sirena Gulamgaus) escape from a pack of corrupt officers…

Code 8 Part II Teaser

In Code 8 4% of the world's population are born with powers and are heavily policed by high-tech robots, thrusting most of them into a life of poverty and crime. Connor was one suck a power-enabled man, lured into the criminal world by Garrett, who help Connor hone his powers in order to do crimes on behalf of a drug kingpin. Part II picks up after the events of the first movie. Connor has distanced himself from Garrett and now works as a janitor. But when a 14-year-old girl named Pav is targeted by a corrupt police sergeant investigating the death of her brother, Connor is forced to team back up with Garrett to help the child.

Code 8 Part II stars Robbie Amell (Connor), Steven Amell (Garrett), Sirena Gulamgaus (Pav). Jeff Chan returns as writer and director on the film.

Code 8 Part II hits Netflix in 2024.
