SELF INDULGENT THING. what i think each of the main characters would listen to

Hank: Exclusively into harsh loud noise, expect plenty of hardcore techno like schranz and gabber, such as WARST and Instigator. Likes some select m1dy songs on the side.

2bdamned: HARDCORE Venetian Snares (i had to with the song, but i think he'd like something more like Songs About My Cats) and Merzbow fan. Also likes Bull of Heaven. Perhaps even a Xyqph fan... if you think i'm projecting you'd be right.

Deimos: Into older rock like Judas Priest or Nine Inch Nails, but has started to get into more experimental bands like Machine Girl and Squarepusher thanks to both Sanford and 2bdamned.

Sanford: Literally the "I listen to all genres" man, absolute mess of a single playlist on Soundcloud of all things. Loves classic Drum n Bass like Peshay Studio Set or LTJ Bukem, as well as MJ Cole.

Tricky: You'd think circus music, but HUGE Thunderdome fan, as well all the major Old School artists like Gammer & Dougal or DJ Hixxy. Raver, regularly attends clubs (i think this is canon bc you can see him fucking it up in Club Advent LOL)

Jebediah: Snobbiest Snob you can think of, dubs Classical as the best genre of all time. Beethoven, Tchaikovsky, Mozart, etc... As well as some Nikolai Kapustin and Arnold Schoenberg (the last two were an excuse to link some real nice piano sets i'll be honest.)

Sheriff: We KNOW it's country music, the older the better - like Patsy Montana or Bob Wills. Favorite is the Good, the Bad and the Ugly main theme.

Auditor: As Slow As Possible by John Cage, specifically the version that's lasting 639 years.

Patrick Henry Wade, known professionally as Adam Wade, (born March 17, 1935 - July 7, 2022) is a singer, musician, and actor. He is known for his stint as the host of the game show Musical Chairs, which noted him as the first African American game show host.

He attended Virginia State University but dropped out in his sophomore year.

After working for a time as a lab assistant on the polio research team, he began to pursue a recording career, signing with Coed Records. He had his first hit (#58) with the song “Ruby”, a cover of the hit movie song. Three of his recordings (“Take Good Care of Her” (#7), “As If I Didn’t Know” (#10), and “The Writing on the Wall” (#5) made the Top Ten in the Billboard Hot 100 chart. These songs made the Top Five of Billboard’s Easy Listening survey. He released the following albums in the UK: Adam and Evening and Adam Wade One Is A Lonely Number. He released an EP in 1960 And Then Came Adam. “Take Good Care of Her” reached #38 in the UK Singles Chart. His vocal style was generally compared to that of his contemporary Johnny Mathis. But it was a singer from an earlier period, Nat King Cole, who was his principal influence.

Apropos of the story of Walter Cole / Darcelle XV going around I wanted to post the story of another bit of queer end of life peace and joy. This is Georgia Black, a trans woman who was born in 1906 and who was the subject of an expose in Ebony Magazine shortly before her death in 1951.

What makes her story special, other than the fact that she lived a happy, full life as a twice married trans woman in the 20s, 30s, and 40s, is that when Ebony published their "expose" dubbing her "a man who lived as a woman for 30 years", nobody in her hometown of Sanford, FL cared. There were protests of the magazine's sensationalist attitude on her behalf, organized by the church she was a leader in. Black and white citizens of the town attended her funeral in spite of the town's legal policy of segregation. She never denied her trans identity, selling the rights to her story to Ebony before she died, only ever insisting that she was a woman just like her peers.

Too many trans people are denied what she had, but her story is still a norm we can believe in.

Shannon: So, Phil, in the past you handicapped the Presidential primaries and Senate races for us. How do you see this race shaping up?

PBC: I really can't exhaust myself, or risk Phillip's health further, by talking about it.

Shannon: I understand. You yourself are a Libertarian right?

PBC: Yes, and I sincerely hope that we choose a good, qualified candidate in this race and get fair attention from the press.

Shannon: The Libertarian Party rarely gets any press coverage at all.

PBC: The biggest headline our last Presidential candidate got was when she was stung by a bee.

Shannon: Very well, then. Will you be performing anywhere in New York.

PBC: No, I have to go home to my sick mother.

Shannon: Your real mother.

PBC: Yes, in Massachusetts. I never had a fictional version of my mother. The Ranting Old Man was my fictional paternal grandfather. That means I have a fictional deceased father who was much friendlier to me after his divorce than my real father was. My real paternal grandfather passed away before I was born.
