what are ya'lls favorite snacks?

Okay so I know it's not technically a snack but I really like to put soda in a cup and then put it in the freezer for a few hours so it gets solid and I have like.. my own homemade slushie. Donnie says it's weird but I don't listen to him anyway. Other than that I like the frosted animal cracker things and mini brownies!! They're good :3

^ Okay to the above I say it's weird because it IS weird Mikey and I'd like you to stop taking up space in the freezer with this. But I'm pretty plain when it comes to snacks. As in I'll eat saltine crackers right out of the box. But I also like prepackaged cookies and freeze-dried fruit (except not raspberries or blueberries anymore because if we have any in the kitchen Leo will eat them because according to him "they're worth the trip to the hospital").

Honestly I'll eat almost anything, I'm really not picky. Except cheese crackers/chips. I freaking. Hate them. But if I HAD to choose one then probablyyyyyy--- mm-- idk man probably poptarts or something. Specifically the banana bread ones. Thanks for the ask! :>

I don't think I really have a favoriet, I like most snacks about the same. But I do tend to go for crunchy things more and I eat the hard mini pretzels a lot because basiclaly nobody else does. So if I had to pick I'd pick those. Probably not a good idea for my braces & everything but whtever they're good.

DP x DC: The Most Dangerous Card Game

Ok so Danny has essentially claimed earth as his. And he is fully aware that there are constant threats to the planet. Now he can’t stop a threat that originates on earth (that’s something he’ll leave to the Justice league) but he can do something about outside threats. Doing some research on ancient spells, rituals, and artifacts, he cast a world wide barrier on the planet to protect it from hostile threats so they cannot enter. This will prevent another Pariah Dark incident. However, barriers like this come at a price. You see, there are two ways to make a barrier. Either make one powered up by your own energy and power (which would be constantly draining) or set up a barrier with rules. The way magic works is that nothing can be absolutely indestructible. It must have a weakness. The most powerful barriers weren’t the ones reinforced with layer after layer of protective charms and buffed up with power. Those could eventually be destroyed either by being overpowered, wearing them down, or by cutting off the original power source. No, the most powerful barriers were the ones with a deliberate weakness. A barrier indestructible except for one spot. A cage that can only be opened from the outside. Or that can only be passed with a key or by solving a riddle. So Danny chooses this type of barrier and does the necessary ritual and pours in enough power to make it. And he adds his condition for anyone to enter. 

Now the Justice league? Find out about the barrier when Trigon attempts to attack, they were preparing after he threatened what he would do once he got to earth. How he would destroy them. The Justice league tried to take the fight to him first but were utterly destroyed, so they retreated home to tend to their injuries, and fortify earth for one. Last. Stand. Only when Trigon makes his big entrance…he’s stopped.

The Justice league watch in awe as this thin see-through barrier with beautiful green swirls and speckled white lights like stars apears blocking Trigon and his army’s advance. The barrier looks so thin and fragile yet no matter how hard the warlord hits, none of his attacks can get through and neither can he damage said barrier. That’s when Constantine and Zatanna recognizes what this barrier is. Something only a powerful entity could create. For a moment, the league is filled with hope that Trigon can’t get through yet Constantine also explains that it’s not impenetrable. And clearly Trigon knows this too for he calls out a challenge. 

And that’s when, in a flash of light, a tiny glowing teenager appears. He looked absolutly minuscule compared to Trigon and yet practically glowed with power (this isn’t a King Danny AU though).

And that is when the conditions for passing the barrier are revealed. And the Justice realize that the only thing stopping Trigon and his army from decimating earth. The only way he can get through….is by beating this glowing teenager in a card game. 

Not just any card game though. The most convoluted game Sam, Danny, and Tucker invented themselves. It’s like the infinite realms version of magic the gathering, combined with Pokémon, and chess. And Danny is the master. So sit down Trigon and let’s play.

After Danny wins, this happens a few more times with outer word beings and possibly even demons attempting to invade earth, yet none have been able to beat the mysterious teenager in a card game. Constantine might even take a crack at it and try to figure out how to play. He’s really bad though. Every time this happens, the Justice league worry that this might be the time the teenager looses. Yet every time, he wins (even if only barely). 

Meanwhile, Danny, Sam, and Tucker have gotten addicted to the game and play it almost daily. Some teachers might seem them playing the game are are like ‘awww how cute’ not realizing this game is literally saving the world. Jazz is just happy they aren’t spending as much time on their screens playing Doomed.

doing questionable things like rewatching a bard’s lament for “fun” and scanlan and vex you will always be famous. the fact that scanlan brings up that they’ve travelled across planes to fix vex’s daddy issues but then it’s vex’s daddy issues that ground her rebuttal to scanlan when she tells him to stop treating kaylie like an object. and god. vex’s “fuck him! fuck him for not saying anything sooner. and fuck us for not asking.” in the immediate aftermath, and then once she has time to put her walls back up, vex’s “my take-away from scanlan is that we all talk too much.”

the fact that vex was the one who made that comment that without his magic scanlan is just some guy but he’s also the some guy that vex spends the campaign looking up to (even if she does it through barbs and snark), the fact that when vex was fighting against saundor hearing things like “unproven ally” scanlan was all jokes until he realized how much vex believed what was being said to her. the fact that when scanlan comes back, it’s vex who literally sees through his disguise.

what do you mean scanlan was a deadbeat father who discovered a daughter that he did love but loved only as an object until vex called him out on it? what do you mean vex was a woman who struggled to forgive in part due to her crapshoot father and she was the first to forgive scanlan when he came back?

vex and scanlan also have such interesting interactions in terms of the balance of snark, silliness, and sincerity. it’s not uncommon from any characters of sam or laura’s since they are both silly little guys who also love drama and roasting each other especially when it comes to character rp, but as always it’s so dynamic when it’s the two of them bouncing off each other, especially when they’re doing so through scanlan and vex who are already bitchy characters (affectionate) with humour as a deflection method. but it’s a silly and deeply sincere moment when vex finally puts the witch hat scanlan gave her back on with his promise that he won’t run away from the final battle. it is one of my favourite laughable moments in c1 but it also reeks of sincerity when scanlan asks vex if she prefers planetar scanlan or normal scanlan and vex tells him he is fucking hot as a planetar, but she loves him like he was and he’s her favourite when he’s just himself.

like. they’re insane do you understand. the dawnfather asks vex to prove herself and scanlan turns her into a dragon to help her succeed, pelor asks vox machina what vex means to them and scanlan says she’s greedy and mean and the most perfect of them all. the knowing mistress asks scanlan to prove himself and vex escorts him on a broom he unlocked for her and then she picks an impossible lock for him, ioun tries to remind scanlan that his strength is the joy he provides to his friends and he makes a deflective quip that he’s really powerful and vex undercuts his deflection with a sincere assertion that he is. scanlan cast his last wish spell letting her see her brother on her wedding day. vex sent herself across the continent alone with her worry and grief while scanlan’s corpse lay awaiting resurrection to ensure that his daughter could be there to either bring him back or say goodbye.

they are the platonic chosen soulmates of all time to me. i make a post like this like once a year minimum and it’s because they Haunt me. both sam and laura said what if we made high charisma characters using their charisma as a shield and humour as a weapon and they saw through each other’s masks but they never explicitly talked about it to one another. good riddance to talks machina but i will never forget the episode post bard’s lament with laura and sam where sam revealed that vex was the only one who said anything that actually got through to scanlan and another episode where laura revealed that the reason vex was so angry and sad when scanlan left was that vex felt like her and scanlan had a unique bond where they were the only two who really saw one another’s masks for what they were. also laura providing the insight that while vex was actively working on being more forgiving, another reason she was so open and happy with scanlan when he came back was that vex didn’t want to scare him away again.

what am i supposed to do with all that? be normal about scanlan and vex? literally impossible

The most frustrating thing about fighting with Steve is that he doesn’t fight. Not really.

Sure, he’ll poke and he’ll prod and he’ll snip and he’ll snap; he’ll dole out bitchy, passive aggressive comments and roll his eyes and sigh pointedly, but the moment things get heated, the moment an argument gets real, it’s just–

“Fine. Fine,” Steve snaps, tossing his hands up with an exasperated huff. “You’re right, okay? I’m– I’m sorry.”

And at first, Eddie had always felt so vindicated, so flush with the triumph of winning an argument, that it had taken him a while to realize that it felt– wrong. That Steve—so confident, so sure in his opinions, so willing to stand up to people when he has something to defend—would just give in without a fight– it feels wrong.

So Eddie had tried to pay attention – really pay attention. They don’t fight often, but when an argument inevitably does crop up, Eddie always wins. Rather, Steve always lets him. He never raises his voice, never gets in Eddie’s face, never really even makes counterarguments. He cedes to Eddie’s points and then subsides and it’s– it’s infuriating, because Eddie doesn’t understand.

“Don’t do that,” Eddie growls, tugging a frustrated hand through his hair.

“Don’t– what? Don’t apologize?” Steve asks incredulously.

“No!” Eddie bursts out. “Not if you don’t mean it!”

“Excuse me?” Steve draws back, offended. “What the hell do you want me to do to prove I’m sincere? Get on my knees and fucking grovel?”

“That’s not–” Eddie leaves off with a frustrated noise, trying hard to keep his tone level. “I don’t want to win an argument just because you let me. I don’t want you to apologize just because you think it’s what I want to hear.”

“I’m not letting you win,” Steve says quickly, crossing his arms over his chest.

“You are, though. You do. Every time. You won’t actually engage, you just say I’m right and then clam up and that’s it,” Eddie says.

Steve levels him with a look of disbelief. “So– what, you want me to yell at you? You want me to tell you that you’re wrong?”

“I want–” Eddie pinches the bridge of his nose, taking a second to gather his thoughts. “I want you to feel like you’re allowed to argue with me. I don’t want you to just give in and then resent me or something.”

“I don’t resent you, Eddie,” Steve says with a roll of his eyes.

“No?” Eddie pushes. “How many times have we gone to bed after an argument with me perfectly satisfied, thinking I’ve won, while you’re actually still mad at me?”

“That’s– I don’t…” Steve shifts uncomfortably. “If I’m still mad, that’s my problem. I can just get over it.”

“But that’s exactly what I mean!” Eddie insists. “That shit builds up! And besides, what if you’re the one who’s really right? I might actually be wrong, and you should tell me. Or maybe there’s some kind of, like, compromise we can reach, I don’t know! I don’t want you to be afraid to push back – I don’t want you to be afraid of me.”

“I’m not afraid of you,” Steve says, jaw jutting out stubbornly when Eddie fixes him with a considering look. “I’m not. I’m just– how long before yelling turns into a screaming match? How long before it turns into throwing shit around, or– or shoving each other, or worse?”

“Steve…” Eddie murmurs, the last of his heated frustration draining away, leaving a clammy kind of dismay in its place. “Steve, I would never do any of those things to you.”

“I know,” Steve says, and it sounds like he means it. “I know that. But what if I–”

“No,” Eddie says firmly, because he thinks he understands now – Steve isn’t afraid of him, he’s afraid of himself. Afraid of turning into everything he’d been raised around: the blowout arguments between his parents, his mom’s petty destruction of his dad’s things, his dad’s frustration turned back on Steve, a cycle of violent familial bullshit that Steve is determined to break free from, even if it means saying that he’s wrong every time. Eddie comes forward, grabbing Steve’s hands; he can’t even remember what they’d been arguing about moments before, but he knows he doesn’t care anymore. “You would never do that. I know you, Steve, you are nothing like that.”

Steve looks down at their joined hands, blinking rapidly. “This– you… You’re more important than winning. Than any stupid argument,” he says.

“That’s exactly why we should have stupid arguments,” Eddie says, grinning a little when that gets a choked laugh out of Steve. “I’m serious. Let’s have stupid, petty arguments so they don’t turn into big ones. I swear I’m not going to stay mad if you get on my ass about not doing the dishes.”

Slowly, Steve nods. He doesn’t entirely look like he believes Eddie, but that’s fine. It’s always been like this – Steve unwilling (or unable) to believe that someone will love him if he doesn’t make it easy for them. Eddie’s been breaking that down, bit by bit, and this is no different. This is no chore.

“I’ll still love you even when I’m angry. Even when you’re angry,” Eddie promises. “I just love you, full stop.”

Steve nods again, more certain this time as he looks up to meet Eddie’s eyes. “I love you, too,” he says, because he always, always says it back, which suits Eddie just fine.

He figures if they can agree on that much, every other disagreement will be a breeze.

Alsooo the little detail that I really loved in this episode was that everyone was actively trying to be nicer to MC. From Sho at the start of the episode to Romeo being a bit more flexible and giving her 10 minutes instead of the initial 5 min..(Also, the first thing he asked after the building collapsed was whether she was hurt or not..great improvement for him lol)And most importantly, Ritsu just protecting her with his whole body

I love your art so much. There is something so distinctive about how tender and warm you draw Vasco and Machete and I love it all it just makes my heart melt. I love the dynamic of the catholic queer identity you have for them it's so distinctive and you do it so well. what's your favourite ways to pass time?

also Leo mentioned his sketchbook, what do you like to draw?

We don't usually have that much time to pass since during the week we have jobs (except Mikey), but we each do our own thing at Draxum's. Other than our chores Mikey and I like to help Draxum with his experiments, and I like to do some of my own. It's pretty cool to see what a mix of science and mystics can do, even if I can't really do the mystic side of things.

During the week I do loads of things. Watch recorded Battle Nexus fights (and sometimes watch 'em live if I can make it), help Leo out in the sporting lounge, manage the front desk, go to the surface and mess around, read- But during the weekend I usually help Draxum with his Earth takeover plan projects. I also have more time to read so most of my books are kept at Draxum's instead of Mama's. I usually read horror or mystery but I won't turn down a good fantasy book. I used to draw a lot, but-- gets a bit hard when your fingers don't like doing what you tell them to.

I tend to spend my time off practicing my mystic abilities. I know I'm definitely not the best at it, but I at least want to become better. And of course I enjoy just laying down and listening to music or something every once in a while. I barely ever have time to spend for myself so it's nice to just do nothing sometimes.

If it's on the terms of what I do most frequently I'd say drawing. I do that a lot because it's engaging enough that the time passes pretty fast and I find it fun. Besides, someone has to keep the position of the family artist warm. In general I tend to rewatch old Nexus tournaments or to just sit down and watch youtube for a bit or something when I don't have the energy for art. As for the second question-- mostly fanart. I have my own characters and everything that I draw of course, but I tend to draw fanart the most. I have almost an entire wall of art I've done and most of it's just of a specific show (you'd never guess). I also like landscape art, but I tend to paint that rather than draw it. I'd show you some of my more recent things if Donnie didn't freaking. Hide my sketchbook earlier. But once I find it I'll post some drawings.

My favourite future polysho headcanon is Tsukasa gets overly stressed if any of his partners are late home without warning. Like this man will jump to "oh my GOD what if they're DEAD" after like a five minute delay. This is fine if Rui or Emu are there, as they will quickly brush off the concern and either counteract it with logic or change the subject.

Nene has the opposite impact.

Nene will hear Tsukasa's ramblings and tell him he's being ridiculous, only for a little voice in the back of her head to ask "but what if he's right?" Nene and Tsukasa proceed to stare at each other in horror for a good 20 seconds. When Emu and Rui finally get home, they find chaos. Nene has 4 different devices open scrolling through news articles and looking for any road accident reports. Tsukasa is calling literally everybody they know. There is a combined total of 500 missed calls and panicked texts between their phones. Nene and Tsukasa got the Virtual Singers to attempt to hack into their GPS to check on them. Rui and Emu are baffled. "Tsukasa, Nene, we are 20 minutes late."

so dumb question maybe sorry but why didn’t any other drivers extend? why would they think undercutting is better?

the undercut works because you're on fresher tires while your opponent is likely not matching your new pace. if you pit two laps earlier and are 1s faster per lap, that's 2s banked before they even stop. the main risk with undercutting is you could exit into traffic which would eliminate your advantage of being able to push when your opponent can't... but if the team times it properly this isn't really a concern. it's very safe on the majority of tracks and is extremely effective on longer or high deg ones.

overcutting is risky in comparison since you're inherently in a vulnerable position by being on older tires for more laps. if you stay out too long, a single bad lap can cost you everything. you may hold pace for three laps, but then drop off a second on the fourth... you can pit in response, but now you're slow and exposed on cold tires with no net time gained. jeddah is low deg on paper (and it wasn't very high deg during the race either), but it was hotter than anticipated and pirelli brought softer compounds, so teams got caught out by the deg without proper long runs. evidently they didn't think extending would be possible, probably because the drivers were all on the radio complaining about their tires lol.

for an overcut to work, you need to both match your opponent's pace and the resulting tire delta has to be big enough to pull off a clean overtake within a few laps of leaving the pits, or you have to build a cushion so you're not vulnerable after your stop. that's a tough ask in this era where the gaps are tight and most start on the softer compound, increasing the risk of a sudden drop-off.

for yesterday specifically, since most drivers were complaining of their grip falling off, switching to the fresher and lower deg hards was the most logical and safest option. once everyone pitted, charles didn't have much to lose by extending... since he'd already been undercut, he now had clean air, and he was confident in his tire management, he might as well try it.

as he was able to lap at the same pace as george on the hards, he didn't lose any time to him on track. even more importantly, he was able to use his fresher tires to pass george at the first opportunity. staying behind for any longer would have mitigated his advantage and left him far more vulnerable to lando, both due to the tires taking dirty air and because he would have lost potential pace by being stuck behind a slower car.

the best recent race to see the conditions and effect of an undercut is baku 24 (ignore everything after the pass since the mcl38 was running double drs, only laps 7-22 are relevant)

there are not many recent examples of successful overcuts at the front, more often we've seen one stop strategies on two stop tracks... but the first one that comes to mind is singapore 24. charles and oscar stayed out for 36 and 38 laps on the mediums while lapping within a few tenths of the people who pit, which resulted in them having a >10 lap advantage without having lost much time on track.
