September 15, 2023 - Neonazis of Australia's NSN gang tried to attack an antifascist fundraiser, for the White Rose antifascist research society and the Black People's Union, at Gummo bar in Melbourne. Armed with knives and flying a nazi sonnenrad flag they gathered in front of the bar, but they were quickly confronted and chased off by the crowd of SHARP skinheads and other antifascists attending the gig.

The knife-wielding neonazis, forced into a pathetic retreat carrying their wounded members, were beaten with mic stands and chairs as they fled down the road, with several hiding in businesses along the way, seeking the protection of staff and security members of colour so they wouldnt be beaten further by the antifascists chasing them. The City of Kingston thinks that they can sweep homelessness under the carpet and evict people who are homeless from their encampments because they’ve provided a few (not enough!) high-barrier shelter spaces for (well-behaved) people to crash in. The moratorium on clearing encampments expires tomorrow on March 21 and the genocidal and illegal bylaw and ‘encampment protocol’ kicks into effect.

Only real, dignified, social, public, democratically-controlled, rent-geared-to-income ACTUAL HOUSING is a solution to homelessness. KUT will support and defend our homeless friends from eviction and will insist that no amount of low barrier shelter beds or sheds or aleeeping pods is enough to ’resolve’ the problem of homelessness.

Join us at a solidarity BBQ in the backyard of the Integrate Care Hub tomorrow, Tuesday 21st at 5pm. Bring donations of money, clothes, wood, smokes, batteries and whatever else you feel people might need.

Yes, I wish the general public takes COVID more seriously.

Coronavirus is not like the flu nor RSV and we've known about that since MERS and the first SARS. Also, massively disappointed with queer assimilationists since COVID is quite similar to HIV/AIDS and given how the government's eugenicist policies and their anti-LGBT campaigns wiped out many of the people who would have been elders in our communities today. Let's alone the deaf communities with the older generations of sign language folks becoming deaf and multi-disabled because of rubella, which is much more infectious than COVID.

Just contemplating our current predicament.

I'm in a unique place to be in these times. A rural town in a deep blue, densely populated state. Talking heads take our circumstances for granted, never once paying any mind to the exploitation and conspiracy that is infecting every inch of local government.

What is someone supposed to do when their closest relatives and longest friends are turning to fascism?

You can't leave. That would be cowardly. These are your people whether they know it or not. This is the town that raised you and shaped you into the person you are. Both the land and the people, for all their flaws.

How do you keep giving your all to your community when members of it won't even give you crumbs? We try with every fiber in our bodies to be the change we want to see, but your neighbors don't want to see a better world. They want to see the world as they knew it.

The problem is so do we. We want to see the world that was promised to us by those same people when we were in kindergarten. Those same people again told us in high school.

I never gained any new perspective. No massive "ah-ha!" moment. I simply followed what I was told to do and it led me left. Help those in need, be the shoulder to cry on, stand up for what's just. Those are values I was taught by these people and they are the ones abandoning them.

I watched my world change around me, watched it move both forward and backward simultaneously. Now it's all fucked and there is no fixing the damage that's been done.

I want the community I grew up in. I haven't changed fundamentally, they have.
