How to Start Coding: A Complete Guide for Beginners

Introduction
If you want to know how to start coding beginner, you are on the right path. Coding is the key to unlocking doors and opportunities in many fields, from website to app development, science of data, and more. Whether you want to create a website, an app, or automate some tasks-the necessary thing for you in your success is the ability to code. Let's find out how you can get started coding today.
Step 1: Choose Your First Programming Language
It is important to choose the right language among the various languages when learning about how to start coding. For an absolute beginner, the best programming language choice is undoubtedly Python as it has very simple syntax and is still a very versatile language, used in everything ranging from web development to data science. If interested in working on the web part, JavaScript is purely going to be the must-learn-for. And for developing Android apps, go for Java.
Step 2: Learn the Basics
Once you decide on a programming language, it is time to start learning the basics. Learning the following concepts:
Variables: Save information into your programs.
Loops: Repeated tasks with ease.
Functions: Make reusable code blocks.
Conditional Statements: Decide things in your program.
Here at TCCI-Tririd Computer Coaching Institute, there are such courses in which learning these things becomes simple.
Step 3: Practice Almost Everyday
Consistency is very important while learning how to start coding. Small projects like the creation of a simple calculator or a personal webpage can be done with these beginner projects. When you feel a bit more self-assured, dare to try exercises on online coding challenge sites such as LeetCode and HackerRank.
Step 4: Build a Portfolio
When you learn the fundamentals, start making a portfolio of your projects. An impressive personal website can give you an edge when appealing for a job or to switch clients.
Conclusion
How to start coding is simpler than it looks! With everyone having their combined efforts and right tools, mastering the coding art is possible. Join TCCI-Tririd Computer Coaching Institute and start learning the art of coding from today.

may I please request batfam x reader where they randomly find out the reader has Omnilingualism? the reader just randomly drops lore then the batfam is like "HUH?" me pleading:
A/N: Sure luv ❤️ sorry it took a little while.. but here you go 😺
Omnilingualism is the ability to understand all languages.. spoken, written, or otherwise.. instantly and fluently, without having to learn them first.
Batfam x Omnilingual reader + onshot bonus "wait- YOU CAN SPEAK EVERY LANGUAGE?!"
Bruce Wayne:
He pretends he isn’t impressed. He really tries. But the moment you casually correct a mistranslation in one of his case files from an obscure dialect in the Amazon, his eye twitches.
Definitely runs tests in the Batcave. "For data" he claims. Lies. He just wants an excuse to hear you switch flawlessly between Ancient Sumerian and Icelandic.
Low-key starts trusting you with delicate negotiations at Wayne Enterprises. "Accidentally" leaves confidential contracts in languages no one in the room understands except you.
Oh, and you catch him brushing up on his French. He'll never admit it, but he’s trying to catch up to you.
You once whispered something scandalous to him in flawless Latin during a gala. His hand on your lower back tightened just slightly. Dangerous man, but you’re worse.
Dick grayson:
Immediately obsessed. No chill whatsoever.
"Say something in Italian!" "Now Portuguese! Oh oh.. Tagalog!"
Thinks it’s the sexiest thing he’s ever heard. Genuinely struggles to focus if you speak in another language, especially something romantic-sounding. (You catch him blushing like a schoolboy, every time.)
Tries to flirt back in another language but completely butchers it. You gently correct him, and it turns into an unintentional couples language lesson.
You catch him Googling "How to propose in 20 languages." Cute idiot.
Teases you with fake words in gibberish, just to see if you catch on. You always do.
Jason Todd :
Oh, this man loves it. Filthy mouth, wicked grin, and a brain full of bad ideas.
Purposely swears in different languages to see if you catch him. You do. Every. Single. Time.
One time you threw back a sharp insult in flawless Russian, and he damn near swooned.
Has you read his favorite banned books in their original languages. "I just wanna hear you say it, babe." No you don’t, Jason. You want to hear them moaned, don’t you?
Will 100% ask you to dirty talk in languages no one else understands in public settings. "What? I like living dangerously."
Bonus: If you tease him in French, it destroys him. He can’t fight it. French + your voice = his personal kryptonite.
Tim Drake :
Immediately runs to his laptop. He needs answers.
"Omnilingualism is a hyper rare meta-ability.. there are fewer than seven confirmed cases worldwide.. wait- does this mean you can read codes in programming languages like they’re actual languages?!"
Makes you his official decryption buddy. His Batcomputer just became 500% more efficient.
Low-key fascinated, high-key turned on.
Asks you to record audio lessons for him in various languages. You catch him listening to them at 2am with a suspiciously dazed smile.
Will absolutely text you random phrases in dead languages at ungodly hours of the night. "For science."
Damian Wayne :
Instantly annoyed that he’s no longer the most linguistically gifted person in the room.
Challenges you constantly. "Recite this ancient Arabic proverb." You do, flawlessly, and throw in the correct accent for good measure.
He respects you deeply but refuses to admit it directly.
Secretly asks you to teach him rare dialects to communicate with his animals better.
The moment you start speaking to Titus in perfect, gentle Arabic, his eyes go wide. You’ve officially earned his permanent admiration.
Bonus: You tease him by complimenting him in languages he doesn’t know yet. He storms off to study them immediately.
Alfred Pennyworth
Unbothered king. He knew from the start.
Smiles softly when you casually slip into old, classical British idioms even Bruce doesn’t understand.
Occasionally tests you with the oddest phrases from obscure Commonwealth colonies. You pass every time.
"I dare say, Miss, you have a talent most remarkable."
Secretly keeps a list of the rarest languages to see if there’s anything you don’t know.
Family game nights? Forget it. You dominate every round of “Guess That Language.”
You become their favorite asset in undercover ops. Fake passports? Check. Local slang? You’re a walking encyclopedia.
They jokingly call you their “Batbabel.” (Yes, even Bruce lets that nickname slip once.)
Jason is convinced you must have alien blood. "Bet you could sweet talk the Martians, too."
You like to randomly mess with them by switching languages mid-conversation. Pure chaos.
And they all fall a little harder every time you do.
Oneshot bonus : Wait- YOU CAN SPEAK EVERY LANGUAGE?!
It started, as many things in Wayne Manor do, in the most stupidly casual way possible.
You were seated at the long dining table, lazily flipping through your phone while Alfred served brunch. Tim was half-asleep beside you, his forehead dangerously close to his waffles. Jason was reading War and Peace in Russian, because of course he was. Damian was arguing with Dick over the proper form for his new kata routine, while Bruce pretended to read the paper but was very obviously just eavesdropping like the rest of them.
Then, Alfred, with his calm British cadence, said something softly under his breath. In French.
"Mon dieu, cette confiture est un désastre…" (this jam is a disaster...)
Without thinking, without even looking up from your phone, you mumbled back, perfect pronunciation and all,
"Pas nécessairement. C’est la confiture d’orange, elle est censée être comme ça." (Not necessarily. It's orange marmalade, it's supposed to be like that.)
Silence.
Dead silence.
Tim lifted his head slowly, eyes bleary but confused.
Jason lowered his book.
Damian squinted at you like you’d just sprouted a second head.
Bruce folded his newspaper with a quiet, deliberate finality.
Dick? Dick’s eyes were sparkling with mischief.
"Since when do you speak French?" he asked, grinning like the cat who caught the canary.
You blinked, confused by the attention. "Huh? Oh, I don’t."
Wrong answer.
"You just did" Tim said flatly, blinking the sleep out of his eyes.
Jason leaned forward on his elbows, sharp smirk spreading. "Care to explain, mon ami?"
Your brain, still not connecting the dots, offered the most unhelpful thing possible: a shrug. "I don’t know. He just said the jam was a disaster. I just... knew."
“Wait.” Damian’s eyes narrowed into slits, laser-focused. "What did Alfred say, exactly?"
You repeated it, casually.
He tried to hide it, but his brows twitched upward. "That’s correct."
Now Jason was grinning like he knew something juicy. "Try Russian."
"What?"
"Say something in Russian," Jason pressed, eyes alight with curiosity.
You hesitated, then shrugged. "Что ты хочешь, чтобы я сказал?" (What do you want me to say?)
Jason’s chair screeched back from the table as he stood, hands in his hair. “NO. No, no, no, what the hell is this?!”
"That was perfect," Tim said, his voice pitching higher, caffeinated brain now fully awake.
"You said you don’t speak these languages?" Bruce asked, a suspicious tilt to his head like he was running seventeen background checks in his mind at once.
You frowned, getting a little defensive now. "I don’t! I never studied Russian, or French, or whatever else. I just... get it, I guess?"
Dick gasped, like someone hit him with a Batarang of Realization. "Wait wait wait.. omnilingualism."
Jason’s mouth dropped open. "No freaking way."
Tim’s eyes went huge behind his glasses. "That’s an actual thing, you know. Hyper rare meta ability. The brain automatically understands and reproduces any language it’s exposed to."
Damian narrowed his eyes, crossing his arms. "Prove it."
"Say something in Ancient Latin," Bruce instructed, his detective mode fully activated.
You tilted your head, focusing, and then fluently responded,
"Memento mori, pater. Etiam noctes detectivi requiem merentur" (Remember death, father. Even detectives of the night deserve rest.)
Pin-drop silence.
Jason cackled so hard he nearly fell out of his chair.
Dick was clapping like you’d won an Olympic gold medal.
Tim, meanwhile, frantically pulled out his phone, already Googling ‘omnilingual reader discovered at brunch’.
Bruce, stoic as ever, gave you a single nod of respect. "We’ll need to run tests."
"You mean interviews," Dick corrected, leaning closer with a grin. "Because I, for one, have a thousand questions."
"Congratulations" Jason said dryly, raising his glass of orange juice in your direction. "You’re officially our walking, talking, sexy Google Translate."
You rolled your eyes with a crooked smile. "Glad I can be of service."
"And you will be," Bruce added, already making plans in his head. Oh, you were never getting out of this one.

ran out of tags so this was cut short but.stage 1 ily… i want to learn more about you i think you’re so neat… i want to give him a nice sandwich. anyway uhhmm i don’t know much about stage 1 so this might be off but whatever freedom of speech 🇺🇸🦅
the idea of stage 1 trying to warn and protect the others in the gang from himself makes me a little sad. im picturing him wringing his little hands together all nervous and afraid after he offered them something—food, a safe place to sleep, something, trying to make up for anything he remembers or thinks he remembers doing in Stage 2 (even if the things he remembers were a dream, he can’t really tell if it was real or not) —and them not knowing what is going on with him or if they can trust him at all. last time they saw him he looked different and he definitely didn’t care about anyone but himself.
and like, depending on how they react to him—he could come to desperately cling on to this one fragile connection outside of his programming and maybe there’s hope for him even if he doesn’t think it’ll last, but if they reject him or react with indifference or hostility it could send him deeper into dissociation—or even trigger Stage 2 as a defense mechanism
#sniffles. goddd stage 1 under nightmare’s reign is so sad#like killer overall is tragic as well like dude. he is so Fucked up thanks to bitchass motherfucker 1 and bitchass motherfucker 2 over there#but like. stage 1 is so overall different from 2 that it would be jarring for everyone else#especially given everyone around him have trust issues as their middle name to some extent or another#horror like fully canon or near fully canon horror would not accept any offers i think#everyone he’s known except papyrus have betrayed him in some way or another at least in his eyes#and killer has given him no reason to trust him in the first place#cross would be more inclined to accept. he doesn’t know killer well enough to build any firm opinion on him yet. he finds killer creepy and#weird and wishes he would stop messing with him like a cat with a mouse it’s about to eat.#but all in all cross can be trusting to the worst of people and while he is very wary he would probably accept. i think killer would be#less violent to him and more poking and prodding and trying to figure this guy out. find every line of dialogue in this entirely new game#or something idk. i think cross would like stage 1 but not understand the stages at least not well for a good while. so he would be confused#on the switchup on both ends. i think he would also be more inclined to try and do something for killer in turn because his character is the#type to easily feel indebted. depending on what stage killer is i think how he would go about cross’ perceived debt would be wildly differen#sorry this is mildly incomprehensible and probably wrong my bad gang#dust would be a mix. it really would depend for him.#dust is mentally unstable and his opinions of killer would likely change frequently enough depending on multiple factors at the time#killer in stage 1 could be very easily blown off by dust just as easy as he could be attacked or his offer accepted#dust is not stable in any sense of the word. he is easily irked and have bouts of paranoia and distrust and his perception of reality can#change at times. killer in stage 1 would be something he reacts to differently. this especially depends on if he’s ever seen stage 1 before#i dont fully remember (and would like to find out) how nightmare reacts to killer in stage 1 when he’s still actively in NM’s domain#not outiside of it or in another au. i don’t fully remember if killer in stage 1 is something he can tolerate as long as there’s no threat#of killer escaping but i assume not?? no fucking clue there#this has so many assumptions because i do not know much about killer#it’s finally the day wick makes a bad and uninformed take#if im wrong thoufh about things i would like to learn cause killer is so interesting to me….the guy ever#i think stage 1 and cross could be friends (or allies or this weird codependent thing or Something). but that also might just be me clinging#to any crumbs of kross i can get like a madman. cross in general though as i mentioned in an earlier post is a lot more of a blank slate#he has a lot more empathy than dust or horror because he hasn’t endured what they have. he has a higher moral code for himself as well#he doesn’t *like* nightmare either. i think he would like stage 1. stage 1 might like cross too because while he’s reactive hes not hostile.

Simon Ghost Riley x you
He teaches you the language of his work
You sat cross-legged on the bed, watching as Simon cleaned his gear with practiced precision. The way his hands moved—effortless, efficient, lethal—had always fascinated you. Tonight, though, you wanted more than just to watch.
“Teach me,” you said suddenly.
Simon glanced up from his work, an eyebrow raised. “Teach you what, love?”
You gestured toward the radio earpiece resting on the nightstand. “Your language. The stuff you and the team say during missions. It sounds like code, but I want to understand.”
Simon leaned back slightly, arms crossing over his chest as he studied you. “Why?”
You shrugged. “Because it’s part of you. And I want to know every part of you.”
His expression softened just a little before he shook his head, smirking. “Alright. Let’s see what you can handle.”
He picked up his radio, flicking a switch before tapping the side of it. “First thing—comms check. We always confirm we’re on the same channel before anything else. So if I say, ‘Check, one-two,’ you say…?”
“Uh… Check, three-four?” you guessed, grinning.
Simon huffed a laugh. “Smartass. You’d say, ‘Loud and clear.’”
You nodded, filing that away. “Got it. What else?”
He set the radio down, eyes glinting. “Breach and clear?”
You thought for a moment. “Going in and making sure the area’s safe?”
“Good girl.”
The praise sent a shiver down your spine, but you bit your lip, staying focused. “What about ‘Oscar Mike’? I’ve heard you say that one.”
Simon smirked. “Means ‘on the move.’”
“Okay,” you nodded. “And what about ‘RTB’?”
“Return to base.”
Your eyes lit up. “See? I’m getting it.”
He hummed, clearly amused. “You are. Alright, one more. ‘Sitrep.’”
You tilted your head. “That’s like… an update on the situation, right?”
Simon’s smirk widened. “Look at you, pickin’ things up quick.”
You felt a warm flutter of pride in your chest. “Maybe I should join your team.”
Simon’s expression darkened instantly. “No.” His voice was firm, leaving no room for argument.
You blinked. “I was joking, Simon.”
His jaw clenched, and he exhaled through his nose, running a hand through his hair. “I know. But I don’t like hearin’ it. Don’t want you anywhere near that life.”
The intensity in his voice sent a different kind of shiver through you—not fear, but something deeper. Possessiveness. Protection.
You reached out, fingers tracing his forearm. “I just want to understand you better. That’s all.”
Simon’s eyes softened, his fingers curling over yours. “You already do.”
There was a pause, thick with tension, before his smirk returned. “But since you’re so keen on learnin’, let’s see how well you follow orders.”
You arched a brow. “Orders?”
Simon leaned in, voice dropping to a low, teasing rasp. “How about this, love—‘assume the position.’”
Your breath hitched, heat rushing through you. “And what exactly does that mean?”
Simon smirked, his hands sliding to your waist as he flipped you onto your stomach in one swift motion. He leaned over you, his lips brushing your ear.
“Means you listen, you obey… and you don’t ask questions.”
Lesson learned.

they should hurry up & make rpgmaker free so i can make sh3 demake as a fun little project to entertain myself. I am Not spending however much money I need for all the assets to do it.
#yeah it regularly goes on sale but most of the assets i would need i also have to buy separately & Those Don't go on sale.#so total price would end up being near $200 or more & as much as i wanna try to make this just for fun. i am Not spending that much for it.#not to mention however long it takes me to learn how the system's work & actually start Making it. fixing any bugs. writing dialogue.#learning to code this shit. replaying the original game countless times so i can accurately remake each level. character sprites.#learning the notes for each song & somehow learning how to translate that all to midi versions so i don't get copyright hell.#this project would take god knows how long & god know's how much money. who knows how much files space I'd waste on it.#But man i still do want to do it. it's up there with the two graphic novel/animated shows I wanna make. But probably won't ever happen.

I got the image of the Jack, Miko and Rafael learning to imitate Distressed/terrified Sparkling cries and using them against the decepticons. It’s a very efficient defense mechanism. Every cybertronian who heard them is freaking out because oh primus how is the squishy thing making that noise and I gotta protect it at all costs. The sheer chaos that would ensue as the ‘protect/rescue the sparkling’ programming kicks in full force.
——
The vehicons are clustered at the other end of the room panicking. They don’t know what to do. The human sparklings are looking right at them and making distress noises. The guilt is killing them.
Knockout going “is the car form less alarming?! If I turn into a car will you stop seeing me as the threat?!”
Breakdown is having a breakdown.
Starscream pinned to the wall on the other side of the room having an internal crisis. He doesn’t like this. Make it stop.
Soundwave makes no noise but you can FEEL the sheer distress radiating off of him.
Megatron is frozen. No thoughts, head empty. He’s not moving at all. He doesn’t know how to handle this.
——
The autobots have mixed feelings about this. They’re glad the kids have a way of defending themselves but please don’t do it near them. They’re stressed out enough as it is.
(This might sound kinda dumb but I thought it was kinda funny. Very tired while writing this)
Wait no this is actually brilliant.
The Decepticons never anticipated their long buried parental nature to be used against them. No one did. But they day the human children turned up on the battlefield looking far too confident, every Bot and Con present had the all encompassing feeling that something was terribly wrong. Their suspicions were quickly confirmed when, before the Decepticons could do much of anything to get the relics they were after, Rafael began to wail.
Normally, human screams meant nothing. But there was a certain pitch that sounded so close to a cry of distress from a sparkling that, to warriors who had not heard a sparkling in millennia, it was enough to send them running to help. In this case, the issue was only compounded as the children scattered like mice and started making the same noises. The Decepticons could hardly focus on the Autobots booking it to the relics as they frantically tried to locate the fictitious sparklings calling for aid.
The Vehicons managed to get to Jack, but he just kept looking up at them defiantly. Every time one of the dozen or so Vehicons on the field tried to grab him, blast him, or otherwise hurt him, Jack would chirp like a sparkling and send all of them scurrying back. It wasn't cute to the Vehicons. Having never seen actual sparklings but still having the coding needed to adore them, they looked at Jack and saw a weird frame-walker. They weren't sure what to do about it except try to haul themselves away while also keeping a vague circle around the human male.
Miko on the other hand made it a point to chase after Megatron and Soundwave, screeching like a sparkling about to be shredded. Neither stopped for her, but Megatron completely lost his train of thought every time that screech rang out. He could have been aiming at Optimus with a perfect head shot and he would be unable to fire as Miko's distressed sounds rang out in his audials. He KNEW she wasn't a sparking. His coding wasn't even that strong. But by Primus, hearing her screech was the same as watching a civilian get run over by a bus, repeatedly. Focus was impossible.
Soundwave wasn't much better. He didn't react outwardly, but the slowing of his steps and the way he tried to sidestep Miko gave away his distress. He avoided her like the plague, trying to refocus but being unable to really get far as Miko screamed like a demon. It was a fight against the Unmaker himself to keep Soundwave from bolting over to collect the sparkling who sounded so very upset.
Rafael, for his part, followed Miko's lead and harassed the other three members of High Command most often found out on the field. Breakdown ran screaming the moment Rafael started chirping at him. This was both out of fear of the frame-walker and to escape the inevitable overreaction of his coding. He may or may not have attempted parkour once or twice to get as far away from the smallest of the humans as possible.
Knockout tried to ignore Rafael when the kid chirped up at him, he really really did. But how does one ignore the Cybertronian equivalent of a soaking wet kitten meowing up at you? Simply put: you don't. Knockout gave in and quickly dropped down to try and soothe the non-existent sparkling every. single. time. Rafael pulled his noise trickery. He never fails to panic and attempt to flash colorful things at Rafael to get him to stop. Every Decepticon has since been endlessly disappointed in him.
Starscream, being terrified of things that really shouldn't be there, took the skies the instant the trio began screeching. Nope. Not today Unicron. He'll get the mission done or get the heck out of dodge to avoid coding coming online. He doesn't need empty nest syndrome on top of a crippling case of "I Love Power." He also doesn't need to deal with the horrific mental image of a squishy somehow managing to sound like a sparkling. Nope. Nope. NOPE.
The Autobots are grateful the kids can protect themselves a bit now. But by Primus, they have known NO peace since the kids figured it all out.

the arrow of love accidentally pierced me
"i'm not going."
taesan groaned and refused to move as jaehyun and leehan pulled his arm insistently to get him off the bed, miserably failing in their attempts to drag taesan to yet another party.
"since when do you of all people say no to parties"
jaehyun scoffed and crossed his arms while taesan glared back at him.
"i wanna have fun instead of being your guys' dd again. i go to parties with you guys and don't even get to drink let alone get laid"
he complained, waving his hands back and forth as leehan sprayed cologne all over the place, obviously bored with the way things were going with jaehyun's horrible attempt at persuading taesan to come.
"you don't have to be dd so pleaseeee come with us. it's literally walking distance to the other building"
jaehyun resorted to begging, dropping to his knees and holding his hands together in front of taesan. taesan just scoffed in amusement before looking at leehan.
"no dd?"
leehan shook his head in response, ceasing his cologne attacks. taesan let out a light sigh, stretching his arms before getting up off the bed.
"dress code is formal"
jaehyun shouted excitedly before running to the other room to grab his own outfit he brought to taesan's dorm.
taesan rummaged through his closet and found a black collared shirt with dress pants. he had no clue who chose the party theme but silently thanked them for giving him an excuse to wear that one shirt that emphasized his arm muscles perfectly.
"pregame~"
jaehyun sang as he came back holding three shot glasses and some soju, quickly pouring it before handing one to each person.
"to jaehyun hopefully getting laid tonight"
leehan toasted as jaehyun shamelessly seconded the wish.
'hopefully me too if these fuckers don't ruin it again'
taesan thought to himself as they all clinked shot glasses, downing them as fast as jaehyun poured them. the three sighed as the familiar slight fuzzy feeling coursed through their veins.
"okay let's go ladies !!"
jaehyun excitedly ushered everyone out the door, practically dragging taesan out of his own home.
"i need want a girl"
jaehyun whined the entire way there, leehan silently shaking his head at his desperation while taesan exasperatedly sighed.
"you say this and fumble every time because of how drunk you get. you think you'd learn after how many times it happened"
taesan shook his head as he raised his hand to ring the doorbell. he didn't even get near it before the door swung open and the most beautiful girl he's ever seen stepped out.
"oh shit it’s freezing- oh sorry, i opened the door kinda fast didn’t i? but hey, welcome in"
you looked up with a smile at the three boys, nodding briefly before stepping outside to go to your car and grab more drinks.
jaehyun and leehan excitedly went in, taesan following suit shortly after looking back to get a good look at you. not being able to see much since it was so dark out, he just went inside to make himself a drink.
taesan forgot about you for a while, instead drinking and hanging out with other people he recognized at the party. he stayed with sungho and riwoo, his upperclassman friends from his class.
"oh y/n!"
sungho called you over and waved after seeing you finally put all the drinks on the counter. you gave him a bright smile and waved back, carefully walking over while avoiding bumping into other people.
"hey guys, how's the party?"
you asked with a slight giggle as you gave sungho a side hug, already a little tipsy from the fruity cocktail you held.
"it's great y/n. glad to see you're finally loosening up"
sungho joked as you nudged his shoulder lightly. taesan just watched your guys' interaction, mostly focusing on you. he recognized you as the one who swung open the door, and he finally got to take a good look at you in better lighting.
you were much shorter than him and wearing a tight, navy blue dress that hugged all your curves so perfectly. your hair was curled and had tiny blue bows in it to match your dress. you had glittery makeup that made you glow even more when you smiled.
it was simple: taesan couldn't keep his eyes off you. and not in the normal 'she's so bad' kinda way. he fell in love on sight.
"he's kidding, i'm actually the one who introduced him to all our regulars who throw parties"
you smiled at taesan with a hint of worry in your eyes at how dazed he seemed. taesan snapped out of it and nodded back at you.
"oh? did you two already know each other?"
riwoo asked in slight surprise, becoming even more amused when the two of you shook your heads. he'd been observing the entire thing, and could clearly see taesan was unusually interested in you.
"oh my gosh, i'm so sorry. i haven't even introduced myself yet. i'm y/n"
you smiled brightly and stuck a hand out for taesan to shake and he took it delicately, squeezing it gently. you just missed the faint blush spreading on the back of his neck before he covered it up with his hand.
"i'm taesan. i think i've seen you around campus. nursing major right?"
you adopted a look of surprise and nodded.
"yeah, how'd you know??"
"your pretty face isn't exactly forgettable, you know"
you froze up in shock at how bold taesan was being for someone you just met. taesan felt like he wanted to die at the corny line.
usually fuckboy taesan was more pulled together and could say stuff like that easily, but around you? he had no idea what had gotten into him.
sungho and riwoo just stared in astonishment at the clear flirting happening between the two of you
"sungho and i are gonna go out to the car real quick. we'll be right back"
riwoo said all of a sudden, pointedly smirking at taesan before dragging sungho off to sit outside for a bit. you watched with slight shock as the two quickly darted through the crowd to get outside, turning your attention back to an equally flustered taesan.
"okay anyways mr. stalker, i haven't seen you around campus. what's your major?"
you asked as you gestured towards the counter, offering to make taesan a drink. he quickly downed the little beer he had left and followed you.
"i'm a kines major. i saw you a couple times when preparing for the sports clinic event"
"ooh so we might be working together soon for the sports clinic event soon?"
you turned to look at him, smiling as you handed him a fruity pink cocktail. taesan looked down and smiled slightly at the glitter coating the rim, praying that it was edible as he took the glass from your hand. he didn't miss the way your hand lingered on his before fully handing it over.
"yeah, and i might be the patient with how sweet this drink looks"
taesan looked at you teasingly as he gestured to the glittery drink, making you giggle as he took a sip.
"how is it?"
"good. it's not too sweet for me, thank goodness"
taesan nodded and you let out a little sigh of relief, a smile spreading on your face as you sipped your own drink.
"so anyways, are you a lightweight?
before you two knew it, you had migrated to the couch to have an actual conversation, taking more than enough twisted teas with you.
"fuck no. bet i could drink more than you"
taesan snorted, looking at your mock offense as you gasped.
"you're on"
you grinned as you clinked cocktail glasses with him, preparing for a long night of drinking with someone new.
"so how'd you get to know sungho and riwoo?"
taesan looked at you while passing a can of twisted tea, clinking your guys' cans together while you thought of how you guys met.
"we met in one of my classes last year. those two basically took me into their friend group and watched over me since i didn't know anyone, and we got close that way. and you?"
"they're kines majors too, so we work together a lot. they're hella cool people"
you hummed and nodded in agreement.
at first it was just small talk and getting to know each other, but it quickly escalated to faint touches and obvious flirting. at least on taesan's part.
"we should meet up sometime to go eat"
taesan turned his head to look at you, both of you sitting sloppily on the couch, already pretty tipsy. you giggled and looked at him.
"i'd like that. wanna go out to eat something together?"
you kept giggling, slurring your words as you reached to clutch taesan's arm for stability before pulling away, laying down in the process. he didn't miss the way you trailed your nails down his forearm before pulling away.
"of course. make it a date?
taesan finished off his can of twisted tea before looking back at you, eyes getting heavy as he reached to interlock his fingers with yours.
before you could even say anything, taesan passed out right next to you. you shot up and checked to see if he was okay before lying back down next to him, laughing nonstop at how ridiculous the situation was.
as if on cue, jaehyun and leehan stumbled into the living room and saw taesan passed out next to you.
"did this loser actually fall asleep?"
leehan snorted as you giggled, shaking your head and clearly having no idea what was actually going on. jaehyun just laughed and worked to drag taesan up and out.
"thanks for hosting y/n. it was fun"
jaehyun gave you a smile and wave before putting taesan on his back. as the three left, your roommate came into the room with a smirk as she picked you up and brought you to your room.
"oh pretty girl, we're gonna have a fun talk tomorrow"
chaeryeong scoffed, an amused smile spreading across her lips as you smacked your lips and smiled contently as you fell asleep.
girl you got me crazy, blame it on stupid cupid
taesan woke up the next morning feeling like absolute shit. he got up to go get water from the kitchen and saw jaehyun sitting at the counter, looking like he was also dying of a fat headache.
"hey"
jaehyun croaked out as he passed taesan a packet of liquid iv and a plate of pancakes.
"hey. did u get anyone's number this time?"
taesan asked as customary after a party, with jaehyun groaning and shaking his head as usual.
"i saw you talking it up with y/n though"
jaehyun teased and a slight smile appeared on taesan's face. before he could say anything, leehan ran into the room.
"you're talking to y/n? of all people you chose y/n??"
leehan said a little too loudly, causing the other two to clutch their heads and hurriedly shush him for how loud he was being.
"what's wrong with y/n? you know her or something?"
taesan's eyebrows furrowed and jaehyun nodded in agreement.
"nothing's wrong with y/n. but you?? and y/n?? mister fuckboy taesan trying to get in the pants of the nicest person in the world??"
leehan questioned as taesan looked taken aback.
"who said i wanted to get in her pants? and why are you so shocked in the first place?"
leehan sighed and took a fat swig of jaehyun's water, ignoring jaehyun's protests.
"y/n doesn't seem like the type of girl you can fuck around with for fun. she gives off the vibe of looking for a genuine relationship"
leehan explained as jaehyun snatched his water back and chugged the rest.
"well good because i actually like her"
taesan scoffed as jaehyun spat out the water across the kitchen island.
"WHAT."
leehan and jaehyun both turned to taesan with the most incredulous looks in their eyes. taesan looked at them and scoffed.
"is it that hard to believe i can like someone?"
"yes."
"dude you're literally the epitome of an emo fuckboy."
"okay rude. maybe not like her, but i'm interested"
taesan rolled his eyes while the other two collected themselves and laughed.
"you and y/n as a couple would be insane"
leehan cackled as he walked out of the room, jaehyun's own laughs quieting as he cleaned up the water.
"whatever. see you in class tomorrow"
taesan glared at jaehyun, going back to the guest room to grab his stuff, promptly leaving to go to his own apartment.
24/7 like a party ... it's going to go out of control, heartbeat
for the next couple days, taesan miraculously saw you everywhere. sure, he'd seen you around campus once or twice, but now? you were popping up around every corner every second of the day, and taesan was going insane.
"bro why do you keep staring at that fountain? it’s the middle of winter. it’s not even running"
jaehyun complained as he looked over at the fountain and saw absolutely nothing. taesan shook out of his daze and turned back to jaehyun.
"just spacing out"
he shrugged and jaehyun gave him a weird look, continuing whatever he was talking about while taesan stayed dazed.
"is that y/n?"
leehan suddenly said and taesan whipped his head towards the fountain again. but you weren't there.
"holy shit he wants her bad"
jaehyun and leehan started laughing as taesan just groaned and put his head in his hands.
"i've been seeing her around here every day and i swear i've never even seen her here before that party. should've gotten her number"
taesan muttered as he lifted his head to look at the two, who were the ones staring at the fountain this time.
"i think you manifested y/n's appearance"
leehan laughed and jaehyun waved at taesan, motioning him to go over to you.
"go talk to her and get her number loverboy"
he hissed and taesan hesitated. seeing you weren't with friends or anything today, he decided to go over before you left.
it's going to be bad if you keep going like this
"y/n?"
you looked up to see taesan walking towards you, acting all surprised that you were there as if he hadn't seen you there for a whole week straight.
"oh hey, taesan right? good to see you again"
you smiled as taesan came to a stop right in front of you.
"how's the clinic been going for you? i haven't seen you around so i guess we didn't sign up for the same shifts or something?"
taesan asked and your smile dropped a little. you really thought you'd see taesan at the clinic sessions, and not seeing him until now made your unusual encounter all the more nerve racking.
"it's been a lot of fun working with my classmates and meeting the kines majors"
your bright smile came back and taesan couldn't help but smile back at you.
"that's great, they're all really good people. um, well, i was wondering if-"
"Y/N!"
you whipped your head around to see sungho calling your name and waving at you. you smiled and waved back while taesan also waved awkwardly.
"oh hey taesan. y/n and i were about to go shopping around the area. wanna join us?"
sungho invited and taesan shook his head.
"i just came over to say hi real quick. jaehyun and leehan are over there waiting for me anyways"
he gestured towards his friends, and you and sungho both nodded in understanding.
"well, bye taesan"
you reached to give taesan's arm a quick, gentle squeeze as you walked by. sungho smirked at the sight as he gave taesan a pat on the back, unknowingly having ruined taesan's attempt to get your number.
taesan walked like a dejected puppy back to his friends who were eagerly waiting to hear the story by this point.
"i got cockblocked and didn't get her number"
he groaned and buried his face in his hands while the other two looked on and laughed.
"never in my life did i think taesan was a loser until now"
leehan chuckled as he calmed down, jaehyun still dying and fighting for his life while taesan continued to look dejected.
all taesan could think about is what that touch on the arm meant. was it casual? did you already pick up on the fact that he liked you? did you reciprocate? he was completely confused.
"watch, i'm gonna get her number soon"
taesan declared as he got up and started walking to his next class after bidding the two goodbye.
"wanna bet that he isn't gonna get it by the time the week is over"
"bet he is"
"$20?"
"you're on"
is it bad? is it good?
taesan was able to poke his head around the clinic to visit you under the pretense of visiting his other kines major friends.
and every. single. time. you drove taesan crazy with the subtle touches you would give in response to his poor flirting.
at first it started simple with a little squeeze of the hand or arm, but then it escalated to interlocking your fingers together while you had a conversation.
taesan thought it was cute with the way you played with his fingers while he talked, but also? it set his heart on fire and he lost his train of thought the moment he felt you rub your thumb against the palm of his hand.
"um, taesan?"
you questioned in response to his silence, to which taesan shook out of his daze and kept yapping about what kines majors do.
taesan thought he was fumbling bad. he stuttered constantly, ears flushed whenever you gave him one of your light touches, and was visibly shaking when you held his hand. the boy was so worried that he was gonna scare you off just by coming off so awkward.
i don't know what to do
“what the fuck”
riwoo woke up to an obnoxious taesan banging on the door, to which he scrambled to open it as soon as possible.
“what’s wrong?”
riwoo croaked out as he saw taesan’s panicked face.
“i think i’m fumbling y/n”
he breathed out as he walked in and collapsed on the couch, a confused riwoo following behind him after shutting the door.
“what did you do”
riwoo collapsed next to him, grabbing a pillow and shutting his eyes while preparing to listen to taesan’s rant.
“i don’t even know but i’ve been hella nervous around her and stuttering and i still haven’t asked for her number and she’s been all touchy with me and i’m scared of what she thinks of me i’m so confused”
taesan said all at once while riwoo stayed silent to process it all.
“wait so are you really interested in something real with her?”
riwoo opened his eyes and admitted defeat since he couldn’t go back to sleep with a yapping taesan.
taesan’s eyebrows furrowed before nodding slightly.
“well thank goodness because she’s not the type to fuck around. anyways, if she’s been touchy and not dry then i think that means you’re okay no? y/n plays dumb but she’s not naive. if she’s acting like that then she’s probably interested too”
riwoo concluded before thinking for a bit again.
“just start by getting her number. i don’t know why you think it’s so hard after having an entire catalog of girls’ numbers, but start by deleting all those if you want something serious. and be good to her. that girl’s my ride or die”
riwoo yawned as he ushered taesan out the door.
“you really think i can get her number?”
“positive, you fucking loser”
riwoo teased as taesan rolled his eyes, taking a deep breath before walking down to find y/n at the clinic again.
he saw you standing in the doorway preparing to take a patient in for a flu shot. you glanced up and gave taesan a small smile before closing the door for the patient’s privacy.
taesan’s heart was racing a mile a minute as he sat and waited for you to be done in the room. he took a while to calm his heart down and steel up his nerves, but he did over the course of the 20 minutes you were gone.
“taesan? what are you doing here?”
taesan jumped slightly at the sound of your voice, not realizing you had walked the patient out already and stood in front of him.
“i came to say hi, maybe ask if you wanted to get lunch or something?”
taesan tried to be as nonchalant as possible while he said that, but the rosy blush on his cheeks gave him away. you couldn’t help the small smile that spread to the corners of your lips.
“i’d love to! just let me get changed really quick”
you grabbed your tote bag and ran off to the dressing room to change as soon as possible. taesan laughed lightly at how you seemed so excited to go eat after probably 6 hours at the clinic.
“ready?”
taesan stood up the moment he saw you come out and you smiled and nodded.
“i was thinking we could walk to somewhere around campus. you craving anything specific?”
taesan looked at you while you two walked and you thought for a minute before looking up at him.
“i’ve kinda been craving udon”
you admitted and taesan looked at you as if you were the most perfect person in the world. udon? in the middle of winter?? with a beautiful girl??? taesan was practically on cloud 9.
“sounds perfect to me”
taesan smiled and you two walked together down to the little area on campus full of restaurants and little shops. the two of you sat down in a small booth and taesan could barely keep eye contact with you. he thanked god that you decided to sit opposite of him or else you would’ve felt the seat shake from how much he was trembling.
“do you have any classes after this?”
you suddenly asked and taesan shook his head.
“do you?”
you sadly nodded your head.
“i have psych in 2 hours so we can still stay here and talk for a good while”
you smiled as you looked at taesan and he couldn’t help but mirror your smile too. the sweet waitress came back with your guys’ bowls of udon, so the conversation quieted for a while, with some small talk and jokes scattered in between bites.
“thank you for coming to see me and taking me to get lunch”
you said happily as you took the check from the waitress’s hands, smile dropping when you saw that the bill was paid for entirely.
“taesan what the hell? you didn’t have to pay for lunch. i can pay you back”
you hurriedly opened your purse until taesan stopped you and shook his head.
“i asked you to lunch so i’m gonna pay. don’t even worry about it”
he said as he guided you to stand up and walk outside. you had a slight frown on your lips, feeling guilty for not having contributed at all.
“let me pay for lunch next time though, please?”
you pleaded with taesan and he looked at you skeptically before laughing and nodding.
“give me your number so we can plan another lunch date?”
you smirked and raised your eyebrows at that, but put your number in taesan’s phone nonetheless.
“you’re not slick han taesan, i see you”
you laughed and taesan looked away in slight embarrassment before laughing with you. in reality, taesan’s heart was bursting with joy, but he wasn’t about to let you know that he was freaking out inside.
“i’ll walk you to class. it’s on the way to the dorms anyways”
taesan looked at you and said, making you smile at him gratefully.
“at least it’s a short walk. ready to go?”
you snaked your arm around taesan’s, holding it close while you two walked back to campus.
“i had a lot of fun talking to you today. i’ve been wondering if you were ever gonna reach out after we talked at my party”
you admitted as you two walked back to school. taesan scoffed in an attempt to hide how happy he was that you reciprocated.
“i had a lot of fun talking to you then too. i wanted to talk to you more but i didn’t have your number”
taesan said as he reached a hand up to cover the blush on his neck. it didn’t go unnoticed by you but you didn’t mention it.
“well you do now. i gotta go but text me whenever so we can go on a longer date next time taesan”
you gave taesan’s arm one final squeeze with a sweet smile before disappearing into the lecture room, slowly disappearing from taesan’s line of sight.
the moment taesan couldn’t see you anymore, he started smiling so widely he thought his cheeks were gonna stretch out.
“bro she’s so sweet and so cute and i finally got her number”
taesan yapped all about you to jaehyun and leehan, who were less than happy to listen but also happy for you. they loved you like a sister and were happy it was taesan of all people who liked you enough to change his fuckboy ways.
however, things usually happen in more ways than one, don’t they? as they say, all’s fair in love and war.
blame it on stupid cupid
“chaer?”
you woke up on the night of your party and rubbed your eyes to find your roommate basically trembling with excitement to hear the story of you and taesan.
“girl you gotta tell me everything that happened between you guys”
chaeryeong jumped onto your bed and waited eagerly to hear the story.
“nothing even happened. he’s just really sweet and wanted to get to know me a little. was too drunk to get my number though”
you said simply, hoping that chaeryeong wouldn’t question it, but she did.
“what do you mean he didn’t get your number? you’re SO FINE i would’ve asked immediately”
she complained and you shrugged. all of a sudden she shot up, startling you in the process.
“fuck no y/n, this is operation ‘get you with taesan’ time”
chaeryeong said and you groaned, not bothering to hide your amused smile.
“lay it on me. what’s your amazing plan chaer?”
“GIRL OKAY so you need to walk by these places every day. taesan passes by them pretty often. i see him all the time walking to class so make HIM come to YOU”
she huffed proudly after she finished her speech and you clapped sarcastically.
“i can try. we also have clinic together so maybe he can ask for my number then too”

Tw: cussing, angst, carbohydrates
Part 1
Words of Command - Part 2
You stand just a little to the side of the elevator, arms wrapped around yourself for comfort, eyes fixed on him.
The Soldier—or—Bucky—or was it Soldat? hasn’t moved. Not more than the occasional shift of his weight, the twitch of that metal hand, the faint flick of his blue eyes every time you breathe too loudly.
Steve and Tony have stepped back to whisper, but you can feel their attention lingering.
Watching.
Judging.
Worried.
Your voice is small when you try again.
“Excuse me…Soldat?”
His gaze whips back to you. Immediate. Unyielding.
That dead-focused, razor-sharp intensity tightens your chest, but you keep going—gentle, slow, like you’re talking to a scared animal that might bolt.
Or bite.
“Do you… understand me?”
There’s no answer.
But he stares, and something in the corners of his eyes shifts—like he’s searching, trying to find something inside the words.
Like he knows he should understand.
But doesn’t know how he's supposed to respond.
You try again.
“Do you speak English?”
A pause. Then “…Handler.”
Soft. Gravelled. Russian-coated.
But he looks at you longer this time. Tilts his head ever so slightly.
Then—halting, broken “Yes ... Handler... I speak ... english.”
His voice is scratchy from disuse, like sandpaper dragged across silk.
You blink, startled. “You do speak…english ...cool. cool. cool.”
His face doesn’t change, but something flickers behind his eyes—like he knows he got something right.
Tony mutters under his breath to Steve, “Great. She’s got a new puppy. One with a kill count.”
Tony’s voice cuts the moment in two, sharp and dry.
“Alright. Fine. He stays. For now.”
He pinches the bridge of his nose. “But only under strict rules.”
He points at you. “You’re now—congratulations—his unofficial translator, wrangler, emotional support human. You don’t leave him alone with anyone unless Steve’s around."
Tony paces before continuing.
"You don’t give him any new code words. And if he starts twitching like he’s about to go full ‘Nuclear-powered meltdown’ in the kitchen, you run. Got it?”
You blink. “I—I didn’t agree to any of this—”
“You talked to him,” Tony interrupts. “He responded. That makes you the most useful person in this room. Sorry, Cap.”
Steve just nods, gaze serious. “We’ll keep him close. And monitored.”
Tony turns back to Bucky. “You break anything, you pay for it. With labor. I’ll teach you how to vacuum or something.”
“Vakum?"
Bucky repeats, confused.
He turns back to you like he’s waiting for confirmation.
You swallow. “Um… yea ...yes. You… do or we do, I dont know”
He nods, stiff but obedient. Like a soldier again. Your stomach knots.
Tony sighs. “Great. He’s trained and housebroken.”
The others drift off. Steve to talk logistics. Tony to complain to JARVIS. You’re left behind… with him.
You stand in awkward silence.
Bucky doesn’t look at you the way a man does. He looks at you the way a soldier does—alert, aware, waiting for purpose.
But something softens in his stance when you step a little closer.
“Do you… remember your name?” you ask gently.
He’s quiet for a long time. Too long. Then he shakes his head.
"Soldat.”
“Not that,” you murmur. “Your real name.”
His brows knit like it’s painful. His mouth opens—closes. Then just a almost imperceptible shake of his head.
You nod slowly. “Okay. That’s okay.”
He watches your expression like he’s trying to memorize it. Trying to learn how to interpret softness. Gentleness. Safety.
The hallway outside the security room smells faintly like ozone and recycled air. You’re wringing your fingers in front of you, stealing glances toward where Bucky—no, Soldat—sits motionless on a bench near the elevator, eyes tracking every flicker of movement like a wolf in a den of mirrors.
Steve watches him too. But not with fear.
With sorrow.
“He’s so…” you start, unsure of how to finish the sentence. “Still.”
Steve sighs, deep and rough. “That’s how he was trained. Hydra carved the hesitation out of him. Left only reaction.”
You glance at the grime and dried blood on Bucky’s face.
His hair is stringy, tangled.
His hands both metal and flesh are blackened with dirt. The metallic arm catches the fluorescent lights—dull, but still somehow menacing.
“He needs… a shower,” you say scrunching your nose slightly.
Steve looks over. “Yeah. He does.”
“I could… he could use mine”
Steve's mouth twitches into the smallest smile. “You’re braver than you look.”
You fidget. “Everyone deserves hygiene ... its a basic human right.”
Steve nods slowly. “That’s true.”
The elevator ride up to your room is silent—oppressively so.
You keep sneaking glances at him.
He doesn’t blink much. Doesn’t fidget. Just stands with his shoulders squared, metal hand curled tight at his side like he’s expecting orders or a trap.
His boots are caked in filth.
His face still bears the shadows of too many nights in the street.
You whisper, just loud enough for him to hear
“You’re safe. No one here will hurt you.”
His eyes slide to yours. Brief. Intense.
Then he nods—just once.
Your room in Stark Tower isn’t large, but it’s lived-in, Tony had allowed you to shift in when you where between apartments in the city, and he didn't seem in a hurry for you to find somewhere else.
Warm lamp light glows from the corner. There’s a little potted succulent on the windowsill. That your honestly not trying to kill.
A pile of books beside the bed. A tea mug forgotten on the nightstand. The air smells faintly of vanilla and lemon.
Bucky walks in like a soldier clearing a room. Silent steps. Eyes scanning corners. He doesn’t relax, but he stops moving once you speak.
“I thought… you could shower in here. In the bathroom. It’s clean, and there’s towels—soap—uh—just, everything.”
He stares at you blankly.
Then… something clicks.
Without hesitation, he starts pulling off his clothes.
You let out a squeak and spin around so fast you nearly trip over your own feet.
“Oh! Holy shit ...Um—okay! Privacy! You can—just—I’ll wait out here!” your voice cracks at least twice.
Behind you, clothes hit the floor. The dull thud of boots. The click of the door shutting, then the soft muffled hiss of the shower turning on.
Your face burns.
You press your hand to your chest.
There’s a naked super soldier in my shower… Oh my god… holy cow...wait ... is that arm waterproof?
A soft knock draws you from your internal spiral.
You open the door just wide enough to peek out—and there’s Steve, holding a bundle of clothes, grey sweatpants, a simple t-shirt, hoodie, and socks.
He raises a brow at your pink face. “Everything okay?”
“Fine! Totally fine! He’s… uh ...showering.” You hesitate. “He stripped. Like, immediately.”
Steve snorts softly, amused. “Yeah. That tracks.”
You take the clothes and thank him in a whisper.
He turns to leave but glances back over his shoulder. “He’s not trying to scare you.”
“I kinda figured.”
Evening hums low outside your window. The sky’s painted in the soft indigos of a city winding down. In your room, the overhead light is dimmed, replaced by the golden warmth of a bedside lamp.
The tower feels quieter now—like even its bones are holding their breath.
Bucky sits on the floor at the foot of your bed, his back straight, legs folded.
He’s wearing the clothes Steve brought. He hasn’t said much—not beyond, "Yes" "No" and “Handler”
Your starting to hate that word.
You’re sitting nearby, cross-legged on the bed, watching him with a quiet ache in your chest.
His hair is damp from the shower but already beginning to dry in unkempt waves, tangled and wild like a forgotten sea.
There’s something about it that doesn’t sit right with you—not because it’s messy, but because it wasn’t his choice.
It was neglect.
“Would you like to brush your hair?” you ask gently, holding up the comb you keep in your drawer.
He doesn’t move.
Not a flinch.
But his eyes flick to the comb. Then to your face.
Then back to the comb.
No understanding.
No hostility.
Just… frozen confusion.
You realize it a second later, It wasn’t a command.
And he doesn’t know how to process choice.
You try again, slower. “It’s not an order, Soldat. It’s something people do for comfort. To feel clean. To feel… themselves.”
He watches your mouth like he’s decoding a language that doesn’t belong to him.
One second.
Two.
Three.
Then “...You brush?” he says, the words clipped, thickly accented. His voice scratches like gravel dragged over concrete.
“No, not me. You. For you.” You hold the comb out to him carefully, showing him. “You can brush your own hair. If you want.”
His brow furrows. You don’t think he’s ever been asked if he wants anything before.
“I don’t… remember.”
That is the closest thing to a sentence he’s given you.
The words nearly break something inside you.
“Then…” you whisper, “Would it be okay if I helped? Just for now?”
A breath passes. His metal fingers twitch against the floor.
Then he nods—once.
You ease down from the bed, kneeling behind him. His broad back dwarfs you, but he stays very still. Every muscle tense, like he’s waiting for something to go wrong.
You gently set the comb on your lap and take out a small, circular compact mirror from your drawer. You flip it open and set it on the floor beside him, tilting it so he can see your hands reflected when you reach for his hair.
“It’s... so you know you’re in control. You can stop me at any time. Okay?”
“Understood, Handler.”
That word again.
The first pass of the comb is tentative. Gentle. You start from the ends, working up in soft, practiced movements. His hair snags in places—clumps still matted from god only knows how much neglect. You’re careful. Patient. Like you’re brushing knots of memory, not just strands.
His breath is steady. But not relaxed. It’s like he doesn’t know how to be during this.
When your fingertips graze his scalp, he flinches—but doesn’t pull away.
In the mirror, you watch his eyes track your every movement. His jaw is clenched, but not from pain. From effort. He’s fighting an instinct you can’t see, but you feel its tremble under your palms.
And then—almost imperceptibly—his shoulders lower. Just a little.
After several minutes, you offer him the compact.
“Here. Want to hold it?”
He stares at it like it’s some delicate alien thing. You nudge it gently into his flesh hand.
He holds it like it might shatter under the wrong pressure. Turns it. Sees himself.
He frowns.
Not in disgust.
Not quite.
More like... he’s seeing a ghost in the reflection and doesn’t know what to do with him.
Then he looks at you.
And in that single look—there is confusion.
And something almost like wonder.
“You… don’t have to do this,” he murmurs. “it's not protocol.”
“I don't mind,” you say, voice thick with emotion. Despite the smile you offer him.
The Tower’s kitchen is lively at this hour—typical, not at all surprising.
Clint is hunched over a bowl of cereal, watching something on a tablet, probably a terrible reality show. Natasha lounges sideways on one of the bar stools, legs crossed at the knee, flipping through a glossy black dossier with quiet intent.
Sam is leaning against the fridge, arguing with Steve about something that sounds like football but escalates fast enough to involve several gestures and a thrown grape.
Then there’s Tony.
Leaning across the counter in a charcoal t-shirt, sipping an espresso as if he invented the machine.
Because well ... he did.
You step into the room, barefoot and slipping between them with muttered "Excuse me's", sleeves pushed up to your elbows and hair a little tousled from where you’d tied it up lazily.
You hover near the fridge, mumbling something about making pasta. No one really pays you much mind—
Until they notice him.
He appears in the doorway like a shadow that forgot to blend in.
The Winter Soldier.
Bucky.
He doesn’t speak, doesn’t announce himself, doesn’t stomp. He just is—standing in the doorframe, silent and still, eyes flicking from person to person like he’s assessing threats. Or calculating exits.
You glance back at him, offering a smile, and he responds not with words, but motion.
He follows you.
Not close enough to touch. Just behind. Always behind. Like a ghost dog, cautious but fiercely loyal. His bare feet make no sound against the polished floors. He stands when you stand, moves when you move.
You’re pouring water into a pot when you hear Clint whisper
“Is that who I think it is?”
Natasha doesn’t answer. But she puts her file down. That’s answer enough.
Tony's voice cuts through the tension like a scalpel made of sarcasm.
“Well well, look who’s lurking in my kitchen like a Soviet-themed Dracula.”
Bucky doesn’t flinch. His gaze flicks to Tony, then to the coffee machine, then back to you. The moment doesn’t register as an insult—because to him, it’s just noise.
“Didn’t realize the Asset came with a tracking chip,” Tony adds, lifting his espresso.
You turn slightly, cheeks flushed, fumbling the box of pasta.
“He’s just… hanging out” you say over your shoulder. “It’s okay.”
Tony blinks. “Yeah, I see that. Very Terminator-chic. Adorable. Kind of unsettling.”
Sam raises an eyebrow. “You sure he’s not about to snap a fork in half?”
At that, Bucky shifts. Just a little. Not threatening. But present. A statement.
Natasha leans in, narrowing her eyes. “He’s not looking at any of us. Just her.”
You glance back at him. “Soldat?”
His head turns toward you instantly. Eyes locked. Waiting.
“…You hungry?”
There’s a pause. He doesn’t nod. But his lips part, like he’s trying to answer in a language he forgot.
“Da,” he rasps.
Tony claps once. “Fantastic. Our newly adopted murder machine has a preference for carbs. That’s going in the file.”
As the pasta boils and the kitchen returns to a fragile rhythm, Bucky remains near you. Close, but never hovering too much. Watching your hands. Taking in the way you hum under your breath. Your calm presence seems to dull the sharp edges in him.
When the steam rises and you lean over the pot, he shifts slightly to keep you in sight.
Tony catches it and, for once, doesn’t make a joke.
Instead, he murmurs to Steve, “It’s like some sorta twilight zone imprinting. Is that normal?”
Steve shrugs. “Nothing about this is normal.”
You hum softly to yourself, cheeks warm from the stove’s heat as you serve up a big bowl of sundried tomato pasta with crumbly cheese and herbs.
You’ve made enough for everyone—even Tony, who pretends to be above “home-cooked carbs” until you set a plate down in front of him.
“Looks like someone’s gunning for our hearts,” Sam jokes, taking a forkful. “I mean—she made pasta, and the Asset isn’t killing anyone. That’s two wins.”
You smile timidly, brushing hair behind your ear. “It’s nothing, really. I just thought... maybe it would help.”
Bucky sits rigid at the end of the bar, back straight, legs parted just slightly in a posture that screams tactical readiness more than dinner guest. His eyes never leave you.
He eats slowly, methodically. Like every bite is a foreign ritual he’s relearning. His spoon clenched tight in his metal hand. His expression unreadable.
The others are trying.
They talk softly.
Laugh a little.
Tony throws in occasional dry commentary to cut the tension.
You start to relax.
Sam tosses a crumpled napkin at Clint, who bats it away with a grin.
“Real mature,” he mutters.
Then Sam turns to you. He points his fork in your direction, mock-annoyed. “And you—you better not be trying to replace me as the favorite cook.”
You laugh, turning away to get another serving. Sam stands up dramatically, crossing over to nudge your shoulder with exaggerated playfulness. “I mean, who told you you could just waltz in here and become the team’s comfort cook?”
It’s lighthearted.
But it’s too much.
Too close.
Too sudden.
There’s no warning.
One second, Sam is jokingly reaching out to gently nudge your arm—
The next, metal slams against flesh with a sickening crack.
Sam is thrown backwards across the kitchen, crashing into a barstool that shatters beneath him.
Gasps. A plate clatters to the floor. Someone shouts—Natasha, maybe—but it’s drowned out by the low, inhuman growl that echoes from the center of the chaos.
The Winter Soldier stands between you and the others.
His body is coiled, one foot slid slightly in front of the other in a combat stance. Left arm bent, metal fist clenched so tightly the grooves in his knuckles press white-hot into the soft light of the room.
His right arm—the flesh one—is stretched in front of you, shielding.
His face is a mask of violence.
Emotionless.
Focused.
Predatory.
He sees a threat.
He’s eliminating it.
“Soldat!” Steve yells, standing up. “Stand down—!”
Tony’s hand flies to his chest, activating the arc reactor with a sharp whine. “You have got to be kidding me—”
Sam groans from the floor, coughing. “I’m okay—Jesus—he’s got an arm like a truck—”
But Bucky doesn’t flinch.
Doesn’t hear them.
Only you.
He turns to check you—slowly, like he’s scanning for wounds. Eyes scanning your arms, your shoulders, your face.
Then he turns back toward the others, every muscle wound taut. A silent protector. A guard dog whose chain has snapped.
Clint inches forward. “Uh—he’s not gonna stop, is he?”
Tony’s voice is sharp now. “Tell him to stand down. He’s keyed in on you, not us. You have to do it.”
You blink. Your breath has caught in your chest.
Then slowly, trembling, you step forward, touching the inside of Bucky’s flesh arm—just above the wrist.
“Soldat,” you whisper, “It’s okay. I’m not hurt. I’m okay.”
His head tilts slightly. You see something shift.
“I need you to stop,” you say, your voice cracking. “Stand down.”
He blinks.
The tension bleeds out of his shoulders like breath leaving a body. He straightens slightly, fists unclenching. The tremble in his chest dies down.
His eyes drop to the floor.
"Understood, Handler,”

•☽────✧˖°˖ MY LOVE, MY SECRET ˖°˖✧────☾•
★ Summary: A Compilation of Headcannons Featuring Salesperson ENA X Reader Where You Tell Her Something Vulnerable About Yourself
★ Character(s): Salesperson ENA (ENA: Dream BBQ)
★ Genre: Headcannons, SFW
★ Warning(s): None - Completely Safe!
★ Requested By: Anon
☆ You tell her in a quiet moment. There’s no music playing in the Casino, no megaphones shrieking about profit margins or destiny or bloodied mannequins. You admit it—whatever it is—your past, your shame, your sore, raw nerve of a truth. And ENA… stills. Her eyes (triangles, uncertain) blink out of sync. Her voice glitches. “…Thank you for your investment.” Her Salesperson smile doesn’t fade. But her Meanie side? It twitches. Her clawed fingers tap her thigh—calculating. You just handed her leverage. But instead of using it, she stores it somewhere deep in her cubist heart. A cursed treasure in a collapsing briefcase.
☆ Later, she talks to herself. You catch fragments of it when you pass her in a hallway. “Must I report it? It’s information, not intel.” “SHUT UP, THEY TOLD ME BECAUSE I’M SPECIAL, NOT A SNITCH!!” “Right. Of course. Business is built on trust.” “Trust isn’t a deductible, you DUNCE!” You pause. You don’t say anything. You pretend you didn’t hear the conversation between her two halves debating what you’re worth.
☆ She starts offering you things. Deals. “Hey hey—confess a little more and I’ll throw in a lifetime subscription to my undivided attention.” It’s teasing. Mostly. You start to notice her red side is brighter when she talks to you. Like you gave her something forbidden to touch, and she can’t stop hovering near it. A secret. A power. A weapon. She holds it like a flower made of nails.
☆ When you’re sad, when you start spiraling because you regret telling her, ENA panics. She rushes in, yelling with her Meanie voice, “HEY! You think I’m gonna backstab you?! You think I’m just gonna BLAB and run a commercial on your TEARS?!?!” She’s waving her arms like a broken marionette, but her face is sincere. The claws don’t touch you. Instead, her mitten-hand pats your head. Once. Lightly. “…I’m glad you told me,” she mutters. “I don’t know why, but it feels like my heart got a new business license.”
☆ She keeps your vulnerability stored somewhere only she can access: A literal safe. Somewhere inside the glitchy neon apartment between two layers of dream code. She has it labeled “EMOTIONAL ASSETS – DO NOT TOUCH.” Sometimes she stares at it. Sometimes she fights herself not to open it. She’s learning what it means to have power and not use it. It makes her brain sizzle. It makes her stomach hurt. But she does it. For you.
☆ You joke about it one day. “Oh no, what if you blackmail me?” She goes still. Her triangle eyes widen. Her smile fades into something small and aching. “…I would never,” she says. Not Salesperson ENA. Not Meanie ENA. Something quieter. Sadder. You touched a nerve. One made of wire and worry. The kind of worry that can’t be monetized.
☆ When someone else figures out part of your secret—some third-party gelatinous oracle or drunk frog banker—ENA defends you instantly. “WRONG. You don’t know the CONTEXT, so STAY OUT OF THEIR FILES.” She causes a scene. She gets banned from the Casino. She tells you it was “an unfortunate networking malfunction.” But her clenched red hand? Yeah. That’s a bruise she got for you.
☆ There’s a point where her meanie side does try to weaponize it. Just once. You hurt her first—maybe you lied, maybe you pushed her away. And she shouts it. The thing you trusted her with. You freeze. Her own voice catches. “…I’m sorry. I didn’t mean it. I MEANT IT, but I DIDN’T MEAN TO MEAN IT—” She stammers so badly the code splits. The world bleeds colour. She doesn’t stop apologizing for three whole hours. And then she builds you a room made of glass, so you can see her coming next time.
☆ She uses metaphors to talk about you now. “Investors trust me with soft data. I am now the holder of precious emotional stock.” Her Salesperson side says it like a joke. Her Meanie side snarls, “And if ANYONE TOUCHES IT I’LL KILL THEM WITH A PENCIL SHARPENER.” You’ve never felt safer. In the chaos. In the sales pitch. You’re her emotional portfolio. And she guards it with claws and megaphones.
☆ You wonder if she ever resents you. You ask, one night. When the stars are fake and the air smells like spilled milk and melted coins. “…Does it bother you? That I gave you something heavy?” She pauses. Then: “I’ve always wanted something heavy. Something real. Something I couldn’t sell.” Her eyes gleam like dying TVs. “I don’t want to use your pain,” she says. “I want to understand it.” And she smiles like a crooked contract. Sharp-toothed. Trustworthy. Maybe even holy.
