This art was made from me holding a paintbrush while conducting. As I got more into the music, the splatters became more exaggerated, allowing me to paint a visual of the song using black ink for the verses and red for the chorus. Both of these pieces were done while listening to Blossoms and Farewell Wanderlust, both by The Amazing Devil.

The thing no one tells you about learning to conduct music is you will be distracted from your task because the song you're listening to has a cool beat and you gotta figure out the hand waves for it. You will never be free of the hand waves. They're part of you now. Always

dear dci/marching band people…
if you are/were a drum major, what instrument did you play prior or aside to being a drum major? If you know a drum major feel free to answer for them as well! i’m trying to see who is most likely to become a drum major.
Feel free to specify your instrument/experience in a comment/reblog too!
Also, please reblog and share so we can get a good result!
Thank you! :)
(p.s. i applaud those who have no instrument experience… how did you do it?)

Conductors love throwing batons. It's like enrichment for them.

Today at the conducting workshop I had:
One of the guest clinicians call me his inspiration for the day
The Director of the University hosting the workshop tell me directly she was impressed
It was a good day 🥰🥰

The self-referentiality of "reaction" videos gets a pass from me today if it means hearing Robert Ziegler reply to some streamer clip: "No, you're absolutely right, that is a mandolin," in the tone of a stern but proud schoolteacher (who happens to have conducted the London Symphony Orchestra).

I'm obsessed with this clip
Oldie but goodie
The passion and intensity that Jerry conducted with is so much fun - this is what music is all about 🎶
