Bundeslihahalloween 2016: Ingolstadt vs. Augsburg
Another thing from the far past! This time it’s the minor Bavarian derby.
Augsburg is dressed as Kasperle (from Augsburger Puppenkiste) and Ingolstadt is dressed as... Juergen Klopp (for some unfathomable reason. I don’t remember why I chose that. Maybe he wanted to scare Dortmund xD)
I can’t find the image, so have this extremely blurry version from my backup folders.
Also yes this goes with the headcanon that the team’s coach is also saddled with babysitting Ingolstadt. The coach at this time was Markus Kauczinski (who wears glasses and got them stolen by the boy personification). Augsburg babysits Ingolstadt, too, sometimes, for money. Why? Rule of Funny. :p

(Transcript and ID under the cut.)
[ID: A scanned traditional art (drawn with pen, colored with watercolor pencils, on copy paper). It has multiple drawings of two Bundeslihaha characters, Augsburg and Ingolstadt. Augsburg is an adult with a lean build, middle-parted ginger hair, and green eyes. Ingolstadt is a child with dark eyes and buzzed red hair.
On the top left corner is Augsburg from the shoulders up, smiling, wearing a green-red-white striped turtleneck sweater. Beside him is red and green text saying “FC Augsburg / Bundesliga (15th) / est. 1907″.
On the center is Augsburg in a Kasperle costume, which is a white wavy wig, a tall conical hat with five colorful stripes, and a clown-like costume. He is carrying a mini Kasperle marionette with a hand. He is happily saying “Happy Halloween! :)”
On the right side of it is Augsburg hugging Ingolstadt with a drunk expression and blush saying “It’s derby time!”. Ingolstadt is screaming, “Let me go!”. Augsburg is wearing a striped sweater and Ingolstadt is wearing a maroon t-shirt, gray shorts, white socks with red stripes, and red converse shoes.
On the right is Ingolstadt wearing a Juergen Klopp costume, panicking while running away with a bag of candies. From the right is a speech bubble of Ingolstadt’s coach from off-screen, “Ingolstadt, have you seen my glasses?”, and Ingolstadt says, “You’re probably still wearing it, Papa!”
On the bottom right corner is Ingolstadt from the shoulders up, pouting, wearing a white shirt with a black collar, with cursive red print saying “Schanzer” on his chest. Beside him is red and black text saying, “FC Ingolstadt 04 / Bundesliga (17th) / est. 2004″. Below him is black text in all caps, highlighted in yellow, saying “Bundeslihaha 2016/17 - #FCIFCA”.
On the bottom left corner is Augsburg with a polka dotted sweater, hands crossed over his chest, saying, “Ghosts don’t exist.” Ingolstadt beside him is whining, “I saw it (Kasperle marionette) move, Augsburg! All by itself!” in all caps. End ID.]

RP Prompt: Primal Battle
This was a prompt put up by my friend Edda in my FC Discord, today, basically asking: if your OC summoned a primal, what kind of primal would it be? So naturally I went wild and plotted out an entire trial. It was a little too damn long and I don’t think anybody read it, so now I’m inflicting it on Tumblr instead. Here we go.
As Arja, self-styled follower of the Greenpath, slumps to her knees with another loved one's corpse rapidly cooling in her arms, the quiet, whispering voice in the back of her skull speaks a little louder. It tells her to hurt. It tells her to maim. And, finally, it tells her to kill.
The thick fog spilling in plumes from between Arja's fangs envelopes her lover's body, and the traditionally circular arena springs into being around our eight Intrepid Heroes via a dense, tight-knit ring of rotted and blackened trees, vines, and underbrush through which only a harsh, red glow can be seen. The party stands in a clearing in the middle of this dead and wasting forest, suddenly absent of Arja's quivering body and the corpse that she carried with her. A peal of thunder echoes through the woods, a splintering crack of branches under a shifting weight, the rustle of dead leaves in the near-impenetrable canopy sounds far above the party members. All is silent for another ten seconds before, with a bellowing howl, the massive, grotesquely white-furred form of Lyssa, Aspect of Rage crashes from the canopy to the center of the arena and the fight begins.
In Phase One, players must fight Lyssa as she stalks about on two digitigrade legs, swinging her too-long arms in gouging slashes at the main tank. Her autoattacks cleave in a 90-degree cone in front of her, thanks to the reach of her claws. The main mechanic during this phase revolves around:
Maddening Mist: At the end of the cast, Lyssa unhinges her fang-filled jaw and breathes a torrent of fog in a 120-degree cone in front of her. This fog disappears after three seconds, and it applies a stacking debuff called Frenzy with different effects for each stack. Stacks decay after 90 seconds, with additional stacks resetting the timer. Frenzy debuffs apply as follows:
1 Stack: Vuln Up. +10% damage received.
2 Stacks: Damage Down. -25% damage dealt.
 3 Stacks: Haunted.
4 Stacks: Mania. Player loses control of their character for the duration of the debuff. Player character will be compelled to attack the nearest target PC with a potency of 1500 per strike.
Haunted: At 3 stacks of Frenzy, a PC becomes Haunted. While suffering from the Haunted debuff, PCs will not suffer the effects of the Vuln Up or Damage Down debuffs from previous stacks, and they will regain the ability to see telegraphed attacks by Lyssa. These telegraphs are not able to be seen without the Haunted debuff. PCs suffering from the Haunted debuff can see Arja's body wrapped tightly around the corpse of her love within Lyssa's ribcage.
Phase 1 chiefly involves ensuring that you reach 3 stacks of Frenzy to become Haunted, without getting an extra stack and suffering Mania. It is very unlikely that you will be able to survive Lyssa's AoE telegraphs without being able to see them. Additional Phase 1 abilities include:
Crown of Thorns: A donut AoE that centers on a random healer or DPS, with line AoEs that travel out in spokes from the point of impact. Glowing thorns, much like the ones that puncture Lyssa's eyes, surround the target's head. Cannot be seen without the Haunted debuff. Damage from these AoEs applies a stack of Frenzy.
Just Like the Stories: Prey markers on one healer, one tank, and one DPS. After the countdown completes, marked targets will be struck by phantom huntresses for severe damage and left with a Shaken debuff. If this debuff is not cleansed, the targets will suffer a stack of Frenzy. Prey markers cannot be seen by PCs who are not Haunted.
Knit the Flesh: Raidwide damage, cast bar must be interrupted. Lyssa shrieks, loud and shrill, goading blackened thorns from the earth around the arena. With a successful interrupt, deals raidwide damage and nothing more. If not interrupted, deals greater damage, applies a stack of Frenzy, and heals Lyssa for 5% of her total HP.
Tear the Flesh: Tankbuster. Lyssa snaps at her target with her silver fangs. Applies a Ragged debuff to the target.
Salt the Wound: Tankbuster. Immediately follows Tear the Flesh. Lyssa raises both hands to strike a hammer-blow on her target. If a target afflicted by Ragged is hit, they will receive a stack of Frenzy.
In Phase Two, Lyssa drops to all fours, her white fur now patchy and stained with red. Her bestial features grow more pronounced, more terrifying, and her attacks become more vicious and visceral. She's screaming, now, howling and raging wordlessly with every strike. Her mechanics for this phase are more-or-less the same, though the cast bars now read as:
 DROWN: Conical fog attack.
 HATE: Donut-and-spokes.
 HUNT: Prey markers.
 FEED: Raidwide.
 GNASH: Tankbuster, applies Ragged.
 SMASH: Follow-up Tankbuster.
Lyssa has one new mechanic during Phase Two, and that is:
BLINK: Lyssa leaps out of the arena and into the canopy above, becoming untargetable and invisible. A thick, heavy fog fills the arena and obscures all PCs from view; in the mist, all PCs suffer heavy damage from an unseen foe that applies Vuln Up, Damage Down, and Frenzy stacks to survivors. When BLINK begins to cast, three phantom huntresses will appear in the trees around the arena, each of them targeting a random PC with a meteor AoE. If at least two meteors are dropped on Lyssa, the arrows fired by these huntresses will pin her in place and interrupt BLINK. This is strongly advised.
Lyssa does not have a hard enrage, but each successive cast of BLINK will have one less phantom huntress available to fire an arrow. The third BLINK, and all casts thereafter, can therefore not be interrupted. Upon her defeat, Lyssa falls, crashing, from the trees, peeling apart like embers off a burning, gutted log until only Arja and the body she still holds tight remain. One final, anguished wail rocks Arja's body, and then she burns away, too.

From earth grows the flower (bender AU)
Born into a family of poor Earth Kingdom farmers, Jean was the first in his immediate family to have bending ability. He was seen as a bit of a curiosity because of this difference, even in his small village because there weren’t many benders. So instead of learning to control his abilities, he concentrated on helping his family survive. As soon as he was old enough, he worked the soil; it was here he began to bend, for the convenience— tilling and sowing were so much quicker this way.
Things got worse. Their parents died, leaving his older sister to raise her brothers. Then one day he tried to show off to his brother; tragedy struck. An accident left Mathieu unable to walk, forcing Jean to take on even more responsibility. Eventually he grew desperate enough to steal a loaf of bread; he then used earthbending to evade the police for a time before he was captured and sent to prison. The damage he’d caused with his bending increased his sentence, since the family couldn’t afford to pay for repairs.
By the time he got out, he was disconnected to both his fellow citizens and his bending. He couldn’t find work, got into a fight over mistreatment, got badly beaten up. An old man found him, took him home and tended to him. He also turned out to be an earthbending guru and once Jean recovered, he taught the youth all he knew— including how to read. Jean took that knowledge north to a little merchant village where he had some success in business, especially with making radios and specifically an element inside them.. Quite a lot, in fact. In time he moved his base to Republic City, where a certain metalbending policeman seemed convinced that he knew the man.

Normal Service and some Out of the Ordinary News
I’ve got to say that I don’t quite know where my head is at lately, let’s blame disturbed sleep shall we - might as well. I’ve been doing my customary waking around 2-3am and then napping, waking again around 5-6ish for the day and watching the cricket, which has taken up the best part of the morning. Although that makes the days seem long, they’ve been full and my blog has ended up being written piecemeal here and there and then being rather last minute. Inevitably errors occur when you write that way and I haven’t made the time to read through properly before pressing post. Usually I’m fairly meticulous, but I’ve ended up rushing, so I’ve resolved to do better. Side-note to both my football and the England crickets teams, you should do the same. Liverpool FC play tonight in Hungary, 8pm our time should you need to know (Champions’ League)
Yesterday was a very dull and grey day, cold, but not nearly as cold as of late. We had to go out to the Pharmacy and so took the car on a run just for the sake of keeping it in action.
Tumblr media
We came back via the village where the younger Ms NW went to school and it was a very neat little journey. The hedges have had a really good cut.
Tumblr media
It was just around this point in the lane where Crow and I did our second synchronised Woaaaaaa Woaaaaaaa of the week so far - that always makes us laugh. The first had been at a low level swoop behind our top shrubbery bed - couldn’t see what it was, but we thought it was the Buzzard. Yesterday it was an absolutely gorgeous Kestrel that flew from one side of the lane across the front of the car and off into the distance. We saw enough to register the lovely markings and beautiful chestnut colouring. I took a few other pictures of some nice looking cows and a field absolutely covered by Seagulls but to be honest they’re not all that exciting, so I’ll just leave the thoughts there.
What was exciting yesterday and I’ll go so far as to say, terribly exciting, was a brand new bird in the garden. Seriously, I can hardly believe it, so settle down and enjoy with me one of the most delightful and tiniest birds we’ve had here.
Let me set the scene, I was standing at the sink under the window, just pootling about and tidying things and a bright flash of red took my eye. I presumed Goldfinch, which would’ve been unusual as it’s been a while. But no, it wasn’t that pillar box type of red, it was more a deep and bright ruby pink. Chores abandoned and camera at the ready I took as many photos as I could considering that A) it was quite poor light and it was drizzling and B) this little bird hardly stayed still. Suffice to say I have A LOT of very blurry pics.
Enough introductory waffle, this is what I saw
Tumblr media
Ladies and Gentlemen, a Redpoll. I have to say that its Latin name is absolutely charming.  Carduelis cabaret. Isn’t that wonderful? It certainly lives up to that descriptor in my opinion, as every angle is a feast for the eyes.
Wikipedia says
The genus name Acanthis is from the Ancient Greek akanthis, a name for a small now-unidentifiable bird, and cabaret is the French name for a type of finch
That turns out to be somewhat disappointing really. I prefer to stick to my imaginary idea of them being an actual theatre show-stopper.
Anyway after establishing the Redpoll bit, as so often in the birding world (and the rest of the natural world to be fair) it all gets rather complicated.
Tumblr media
For size perspective: House Sparrow and Redpoll. I said they’re tiny didn’t I
The full name for this species is actually the Lesser Redpoll, as relatively recently (year 2000) it was classified as a separate species from the very similar Common Redpoll (also called the Mealy Redpoll) which, despite the name, is not common in the UK at all.
Lesser Redpolls breed in the UK, whereas Common Redpolls are winter visitors only and generally just to the eastern side of the UK. There are subtle differences only between the two species, but it is the Lesser Redpoll that’s much more likely to be seen in gardens across the UK.
I’ve put a really excellent video towards the end of this blog which should make things clearer.
As you can tell from the shape of the bill, Redpoll is a Finch, a small Finch. This is particularly interesting as I keep bemoaning how we lack Finches here and yet last year we saw more Goldfinch in the garden than we ever have before; not big numbers, but more frequent visits. We had the return of a Greenfinch and evidence they’d had young and of course, lately a male Chaffinch has been here a lot. Apparently Redpoll will often flock with Siskin - another relatively common bird, but again, one we’ve not spotted in our garden. Little Lesser Red Poll making the distant Robin look huge
Obviously all the information I have is collated from various searches I made on the internet: I read that the UK population of this lovely bird went into rapid decline since the 1970s and now stands at about 10% of the known figures at that time. There is no sound evidence currently available as to why, but studies have focused on the reduction in young forestry plantations, especially non-native Conifers (a favoured nesting location) and possibly a lessening of Birch trees. To counter that though, I have also read that since around 2010 there has been a marked increase in sightings in gardens. In the Spring the Redpoll will feed on insects and source caterpillars for its young, but in the Autumn and Winter it’s a seed eater, particularly enjoying the fine Niger seed which is suited to its small beak. It seems more people are feeding the birds in their gardens and Niger seed in particular is being employed more frequently as it attracts the colourful little birds.
Tumblr media
Lesser Redpoll GB breeding population was estimated at around 220,000 breeding pairs (2016) but they are doing particularly well these days in N Ireland which boasted an additional 40,000 pairs.
The species is now listed as red status in the UK (see below)

Absolutely beautiful from every angle

You can just make out a small black bib in the photo above and from what I’ve read this is a male bird already displaying breeding colours, as seen by the extremely red-pink breast. It could be said it’s fairly ahead of the game with its timing.
More information from an outside source Here (pdf) which is a British Birding Association article from 2010 with some excellent photographs.

LISTING STATUS EXPLAINED:
The Red Listed birds are not necessarily terribly low in number -  for example the Common House Sparrow. Starling and Song Thrush are in this category because of population decline.
Red List Criteria
Globally Threatened
A Serious Population Decline In The UK Between 1800 And 1995
A Decline Of At Least 50% In The UK Breeding Population Over The Last 25 Years Or Over A Longer-Term Period
A Contraction Of At Least 50% In The UK Breeding Range Over The Last 25 Years Or Since 1969
The RSPB say
"We use the red list to prioritise our action. We use it to identify which species need help immediately and take action. So, if there is research to do to find out what the problem is, and how to tackle it, then we’ll do that, then once we know what needs to be done to help them we’ll get on with it, whether it’s land management, species recovery projects or lobbying government.
"Prioritising is vital as we don’t have money and resources to work on everything, even within the red list we can’t prioritise action for all 67 species. In some cases we have to just keep a watching brief on a species until we have more resource to take action."
"The first step is considering what to do in your own outdoor spaces to create better habitats for wildlife. Those who have a garden could consider wildlife friendly gardening - create a pond, plant pollen rich flowers, or plant shrubs with berries for birds.
"Most of the data we use is collected by volunteers –if you know a little bit about birds you could get involved in data gathering with monitoring schemes, such as those run by the BTO in partnership with the RSPB."
I’m going to have a think about what projects we can embark on this Spring to help our garden birds even more and then, well, who knows what species might turn up. Even after 20 years here, there’s something to marvel at every single day.

Most of the variants relate to the text, some of which have the name "Seapearl 600" inside the frame, while others have the name "Sherpa" above the frame. There is also a version with the Saturn logo. Regardless of the variant, these dials are prone to ageing and patina, so it is rare to find a dial in immaculate condition. However, the patina can be very striking and beautiful, and beautiful 'tropical' examples are common.

Introduction to the LC connector of the fiber optic connector.
The LC connector was first developed by the famous Bell laboratory (USA). It is made with a modular jack (RJ) latching mechanism for easy operation. The size of the pins and sleeves used in the LC connector is 1.25mm, which is half the size of ordinary SC, FC and so on. The LC connector is as follows:

The optical fiber connector
A fiber optic connector is a detachable (active) connection between an optical fiber and an optical fiber. The two end faces of the optical fiber are precisely butted together so that the optical energy output from the transmitting optical fiber can be coupled to the receiving optical fiber to the maximum extent. It also minimizes the impact on the system due to its involvement in the optical link, which is a basic requirement for fiber optic connectors. To some extent, fiber optic connectors affect the reliability and performance of optical transmission systems.
Tumblr media
Basic introduction
A connecting device for re-plugging between optical fibers, also called a fiber optic movable joint. The main performance parameters (and typical values) are: insertion loss (<0.5dB), plug-and-repeat repeatability and interchangeability between connectors (500 changes). When used in a large-capacity high-speed transmission system, reflection is also required to be small.
Introduction
Optical fiber connectors can be divided into single-mode and multi-mode connectors of common silicon-based fibers according to different transmission media, and other fiber-optic connectors such as plastics; the structure of the connector can be divided into: FC , SC, ST, LC, D4, DIN, MU, MT, etc. Among them, ST connectors are usually used for wiring equipment terminals, such as fiber distribution frames, fiber modules, etc.; and SC and MT connectors are usually used for network equipment terminals. According to the shape of the end face of the fiber, there are FC, PC (including SPC or UPC) and APC; according to the number of cores of the fiber, there are also single core and multi-core (such as MT-RJ). Fiber optic connectors are used in a wide variety of applications. In the actual application process, we generally distinguish according to the structure of the fiber optic connector. Here are some common fiber connectors:
FC type fiber optic connector
This connector was first developed by NTT Japan. FC is an abbreviation of Ferrule Connector, which indicates that the external reinforcement method is a metal sleeve and the fastening method is a turnbuckle. At the earliest, FC type connectors, the mating end faces of the ceramic pins used were planar contact (FC). The connector has the advantages of simple structure, convenient operation and easy manufacture, but the fiber end face is sensitive to fine dust, and Fresnel reflection is easy to occur, and it is difficult to improve the return loss performance. Later, this type of connector was improved by using a pin (PC) with a spherical end face, and the external structure was not changed, so that the insertion loss and return loss performance were greatly improved.
SC type fiber optic connector
This is a fiber optic connector developed by NTT Corporation of Japan. The outer casing has a rectangular shape, and the structure of the pin and the coupling sleeve is exactly the same as that of the FC type. The end face of the pin is mostly made of PC or APC type; the fastening method is a plug-and-pin type, which is not required. Rotate. Such connectors are inexpensive, easy to insert and remove, have small fluctuations in insertion loss, high compressive strength, and high installation density.
The ST and SC interfaces are two types of fiber connectors. For 10Base-F connections, the connectors are usually ST type. For 100Base-FX, the connectors are mostly SC type. The core of the ST connector is exposed and the core of the SC connector is inside the connector.
Biconic Connector
The most representative of these types of fiber optic connectors was developed by Bell Laboratories of the United States. It consists of two precision-molded ends with frusto-conical cylindrical plugs and a double-conical plastic sleeve inside. The coupling assembly of the barrel.
DIN47256 fiber optic connector
This is a connector developed by Germany. The connector and coupling sleeve of this type of connector have the same structural dimensions as the FC type, and the end face treatment adopts PC grinding. Compared with the FC type connector, the structure is more complicated, and the internal metal structure has a spring that controls the pressure, so as to avoid damage to the end surface due to excessive insertion pressure. In addition, the mechanical accuracy of such a connector is high, and the value of the insertion loss is small.
MT-RJ type connector
MT-RJ started with the MT connector developed by NTT, with the same latching mechanism as the RJ-45 LAN electrical connector. The optical fiber is aligned with the guide pin mounted on both sides of the small sleeve for easy transmission and reception. The machine is connected, and the connector end face fiber is a double-core (interval 0.75mm) arrangement design, which is the next-generation high-density optical connector mainly used for data transmission.
LC connector
The LC connector was developed by the famous Bell Institute and is manufactured using a convenient modular jack (RJ) latch mechanism. The size of the pins and sleeves used is half that of ordinary SC, FC, etc., which is 1.25 mm. This can increase the density of the fiber optic connectors in the optical distribution frame. At present, in the single-mode SFF, the LC type connector has actually occupied a dominant position, and the application in multi-mode has also grown rapidly.
MU type connector
The MU (Miniature Unit Coupling) connector is the world's smallest single-core fiber optic connector developed by NTT based on the most widely used SC-type connector. The connector uses a 1.25mm diameter bushing and self-retaining. The advantage of the organization is that it enables high-density installation. With MU's l.25mm diameter bushings, NTT has developed a series of MU connectors. They have socket type optical connectors (MU-A series) for fiber optic cable connection, backplane connectors with self-holding mechanism (MU-B series), and simplified sockets for connecting LD/PD modules and plugs (MU-SR series) )Wait. With the rapid development of fiber-optic networks to larger bandwidths and larger capacity and the widespread use of DWDM technology, the demand for MU-type connectors will also grow rapidly.
MC connector
In 2012, the domestic communication company independently developed a smaller and denser MC connector than the LC connector. The Nippon MC Fiber Optic Active Connector is a high-density single-core fiber optic connector for high-density applications such as high-capacity central rooms and high-density data centers. The MC fiber optic connector has a high density and can double the LC connector in the same space, making it the world's smallest and densest connector.
The main parameters:
Tumblr media
General structure
The main purpose of fiber optic connectors is to achieve fiber optic connections. Optical fiber connectors that have been widely used in optical fiber communication systems are numerous in variety and structure. However, the basic structure of various types of fiber optic connectors is consistent, that is, most fiber optic connectors are generally made of high-precision components (composed of two pins and one coupling tube). Alignment of the fiber.
In this method, the fiber is inserted into and fixed in the pin, and the surface of the pin is polished to achieve alignment in the coupling tube. The outer components of the pins are made of metal or non-metal materials. The butt end of the pin must be ground and the other end typically uses a bend limiting member to support the fiber or fiber optic cable to relieve stress. The coupling tube is generally made of two semi-synthetic, fastened cylindrical members made of ceramic, or bronze, and is equipped with a metal or plastic flange to facilitate the mounting and fixing of the connector. In order to align the fiber as precisely as possible, the processing precision of the pin and the coupling tube is very high.
Performance
The performance of fiber optic connectors, first of all, optical performance, in addition to the interchangeability, repeatability, tensile strength, temperature and number of insertions and removals of fiber optic connectors.
(1) Optical performance: For the optical performance requirements of the optical fiber connector, the two most basic parameters of insertion loss and return loss are mainly used.
Insertion loss (InsertionLoss) is the loss of the effective optical power of the link caused by the introduction of the connector. The smaller the insertion loss, the better. Generally, the requirement should be no more than 0.5dB.
ReturnLoss (ReflectionLoss) refers to the ability of the connector to suppress the reflection of the link optical power, and its typical value should be no less than 25dB. In the practical application of the connector, the surface of the pin has been specially polished to make the return loss larger, generally not less than 45dB.
(2) Interchangeability and repeatability
The fiber optic connector is a universal passive device. For the same type of fiber optic connector, it can be used in any combination and can be used repeatedly. Therefore, the additional loss introduced is generally less than 0.2 dB.
(3) Tensile strength
For a good fiber optic connector, the tensile strength is generally required to be no less than 90N.
(4) Temperature
Generally, fiber optic connectors must be able to operate at temperatures between -40℃ and +70℃.
(5) Number of insertions and removals
The fiber optic connectors used can be plugged and unplugged more than 1000 times.
Connection step
1. The Fiber Optic Quick Connector is an innovative field termination connector that includes factory pre-installed fiber, pre-cast ceramic ferrules, and a mechanical splice mechanism.
2. When the termination is completed, only the introduction fiber or the indoor fiber can be inserted into the mechanical connection mechanism, without using other tools, the termination process takes only about 2 minutes, which greatly saves the installation time.
3. The ferrule and end face of the fiber optic quick connector are pre-ground and pre-polished at the factory, and the mechanical connection mechanism is located at the end of the ferrule to fix the inserted fiber.
4. The mechanical connection mechanism is mainly composed of a V-shaped groove and a clamping element; when a fiber needs to be inserted, the V-shaped groove is opened by a wedge-shaped clamp to facilitate the smooth insertion of the optical fiber.
5. When the fiber is inserted into the V-groove and fixed, remove the wedge clamp from the V-groove.
In order to facilitate users to better understand and select fiber optic connectors, Konnra Electronics hereby organizes the knowledge and classification of fiber optic connectors, and hopes to be helpful to the majority of users.

Lens Hoods — Canon UK Shop
We at Altura Photo are aware that taking care of your lenses is an crucial task, that is why we supply lens hoods of all sorts: tulip, devoted and collapsible rubber. I just slipped and fell some days ago. Final day of my holiday… my camera was in my hand and I dropped it of course. Luckily my lens hood was on and the camera fell on it. The hood broke, but nothing at all else! At first I was angry about it, but later I realized that if the hood isnt on, almost certainly the lens broke… it was a rainy weather, but I thought its nonetheless great to be on. Helps stop undesirable light from getting into your lens to lessen flare and improve contrast levels. And whilst companies may possibly provide them with their much more high-priced lenses, they seldom do so with the less costly, entry-level lenses. Despite the fact that this approach enables them to extract much more funds from buyers who are knowledgeable enough to want hoods, it is essentially penny-pinching and environmentally unsound. Most lens hoods are created of plastic or, at ideal, lightweight aluminium. It charges a few dollars to generate them possibly about as considerably as the total cost of packaging them in cardboard and plastic that will be discarded. Add to that the price of freight when shipping the packages and you have a lot of unnecessary expenditure and an environmental cost that would be eliminated if lens hoods were bundled with lenses in the initial spot. Costs pointed out above are the ideal (least) cost obtainable for every item across all stores. To get prices across all shops please select (click) a offered Lens Hoods. To aid you recognize how important lens hoods actually are and how to get the most out of them, photography educator Phil Steele has an superb video titled Lens Hoods - Why, When, and How to Use Them,” which we have embedded below. Lens hood can stop undesirable light rays from getting into the lens and hence minimize lens glare and ghost pictures. See On-Camera Lens Overview for some specifics and examples. Sadly, none of these 5 lens converters comes with a lens hood, and, except for TC-E2 and TC-E3ED, there is no Nikon-brand lens hoods accessible. what is a lens hood We certainly do not count on to use a lens hood on FC-E8 Fisheye lens. Nikon recommends HN-23 or HN-24 for TC-E2 and HN-20 for TC-E3ED. For the on-camera lens and the two wide angle converters, no suggestions are made. Fortunately, lens hoods are extensively offered. Considering that thread sizes are usually bigger than or equal to 49mm, the on-camera lens and WC-E24 cannot be match with a lens hood directly. ULH does not avert anything receiving onto the front element. This can be sealed up by attaching a protection (or easy UV) filter to the front of your lens, as the manufactures recommend. Crucially, the ULH will preserve the camera clean and prevent any ingress into the buttons or lens mount. That is fairly impressive. By simply putting a lightweight accessory on your camera lens, you right away enhance your image high quality and lens durability. This is why most photographers use lens hoods anytime they can. Appropriately created rectangular or square lens hoods are generally a lot more efficient than cylindrical or conical ones since those shapes closely resemble the shape of the photograph. However, rectangular or square lens hoods need to not be employed with zoom lenses whose front elements rotate as the focal length is changed, as the hood will rotate as nicely, blocking parts of the angle of view. The same also applies to petal lens hoods. For these varieties of lenses, only cylindrical or conical lens hoods will work properly. Treat your Nikon gear correct with camera lens accessories that safeguard your investment and improve your photography. Pick from lens caps, covers, and circumstances to maintain your lenses pristine and scratch-totally free or choose from a massive selection of DSLR lens hoods to handle lighting and flares. I hope he reads this post on the use of the lens hood. Some are even convinced that this is excellent stuff. I have observed lens flare used to great effect on some occasions, but mainly it is just nasty.
