Your WIP about WHAT?!? Adine and werewolves are like two of my favorite things!

you read me babey! at the height of my fantasy high phase i started spiralling about an au where adaine failed the consave at the black pit and ended up a werewolf. i have a couple of posts abt it here. highlights of the au included: adaine, jawbone and tracker pack bonding, adaine outgrowing nearly every single one of her friends and getting that +str early, and, my personal favourite: adaine wolfing out and mauling aelwyn on the night of ostentatia's party and how much worse it makes their already dogshit relationship. adaine also breaks her casting orb at the same party and ends up with a baseball bat as a new focus bc she deserves to inflict blunt force trauma with her new strength. i had a few one shots planned (and did post a couple on ao3) but i got busy and ended up losing much of my zeal for the concept. i still love it though. i should draw scarred up aelwyn again sometime (and ACTUALLY post her this time). loved that bitch

Hiya, love your work. Do you perhaps know something on how to create new spells in-game? How a character (in this case a wizard) goes about making their own spell, which checks they needs to make at which points in the process and how difficult they should be dependent on the spell level and for example their arcane tradition. Thanks in advance, one of my players and I have been struggling a lot.

My suggestion is to use the dice-pool mechanic that I use for lockpicking, With an Int (arcana) roll for the initial understanding of the challenge. When it comes to determining the stat that they'll use for the rerolls, my question to you is what medium is this spellcrafting taking place? Are they working out formulae in their head and notebook? Then it's probably going to be wis (insight). Another character who weaves their spell energies together in knots of light and aether might use dex (slight of hand), while someone else trying to contain raw elemental energy might base their rerolls off thier consave alone.

I'd set the dc of spells as such:

cantrip/lvl 1: dc 10

lvl 2-3: dc 15

lvl 4-5: dc 20

lvl 6-7: dc 25

lvl 8-9: dc 30

I'd say that making a spell specifically in your arcane tradition gives you advantage on that initial int-roll of understanding.

Merit has multiple classes and that is explained by the fact that she has ‘soul gems’. These gems contain all the experience related to such class, it takes an action to equip, then the rest of her turn to fully switch to be able to use her abilities properly. 

If she’s interrupted during the switch, if she fails her consave - she will fall unconscious, if she succeeds - it takes another action on her next turn to finish ‘equipping’ the experience. 

Should she fall unconscious, and her soul gems are not put into her apparatus installed in her chest - she remains inert until its place there. Her body does not decay and cannot be revived until a piece of her soul is returned to her.
